Where Is It Profitable To Invest Money?

laitman_283_01Question: Currently where is it most profitable to invest money?

Answer: That would be in education and information. This has always been most correct and safest.

The one thing that we lack in this world is truly educated and intelligent people, not necessarily professionals, but educated people who understand what the purpose of life is, what the meaning of life is and how to live it; this is not in vain.

If a person has the opportunity to acquire education and information of this kind, and this can be acquired only through his own effort, then it is worthwhile for him to invest in it.

Money: Past, Present, Future

laitman_202_0People have always believed that the Jews have a special secret for “attracting money.” Kabbalists were particularly accused of this. Alchemists attempted to formulate a “golden formula” based on learning ancient Jewish mystical teachings.

In some ways these people were right. Kabbalists truly know the “secret of money.” And the secret is their bestowal.

Only little children do not understand that everything in the physical world has its own value, its price—the required amount of effort invested to acquire what is desired. Money is a measure. But how is it possible to measure the inner efforts of a person, his happiness, sadness, importance?

We need to constantly measure our connection with each other. People actively exchange the results of their labor. The emergence of money as universal equivalent of our efforts replaced the exchange of goods.

Money, as well, is the equivalent of universal human desires. If I want something, I am ready to give everything for it. It may not be of material value (for instance, the memory of a beloved grandmother), but I would pay for it materially. Everything depends on individual requests.

The wisdom of Kabbalah has always studied and investigated the source, our nature itself. It is necessary to pay (through money or effort) for pleasure. The word “money” (Kesef in Hebrew) has the same root as the word “yearning” (Kisuf), meaning a covering (Kisui) of my egoism. I cover my desires to satisfy them by placing a Masach (screen) over them through their correct use. In our society, direct reception based upon egoism is impossible.

Therefore the concept of money (Kesef) is linked to the Masach that the person places over his desires. Thanks to the Masach and the desires, he can carry out what he wants according to the size of the Masach, meaning according to the value of the money.

When a person wants to acquire something, he must pay an equivalent sum of money that the seller stipulates. This is the version of relationships between us in an egoistic society. How is this arranged in altruism, when the exchange scheme—money for commodity—doesn’t work and we buy not what suits us but what gives pleasure to someone else?

The world is gradually reaching a new economy: money no longer works. Already there are countries in the world in
where you can take a bank loan with zero and even negative interest. That is, you give back less than you took. This is evidence that money ceases to play the role as the universal equivalent for reception and gradually is beginning to play a role as the general equivalent of bestowal.

Here a purely Kabbalistic principle is working: receiving in order to bestow. All of humanity is gradually moving toward this model. This transformation is not understood by our egoistic intellect.

The world bankers are seriously considering giving more money to the population so that the economy will be stimulated. The consumer society is coming to an end. Previously we were encouraged to consume, and now, on the contrary , to give.

Society has reached a state in its development in which it is possible to supply everyone with what is needed and money no longer plays a role. It has lost its value.

Coming to the forefront are relationships between people, and people are beginning to search for fulfillment and pleasure in society in connection with other people, not in material terms, because we have become too dependent on each other.

The world is advancing toward general production. And the most important product of this society is the right mutual relationships. Money is losing its value before our eyes.

We see drug addicts supplied with 10 grams of drugs so that they will not yearn for money at all, or the unemployed who are not seeking to earn money living from the welfare provided by the state to cover their minimal  requirements.

In this way, from bodily pleasure, we are moving to spiritual fulfillment. Society cannot yet to weigh and understand this, so people become depressed. In fact, the previously purely egoistic universal equivalent—gold coins, jewels, slaves—is above the material, a spiritual equivalent.

How much as a person can connect people to each other is what will be appreciated. He will be judged by his direct participation in the arrangement of society, in the public “factory.”

So the next form of money will be the Masach itself, meaning the right relationships between people. Through connecting, bringing one’s share, and giving to his fellow man, each one of us “pays” the very “spiritual money (Kesef)” and covers (Mekaseh) the common desire for fulfillment. How much I can offer, give, and bestow to another, this is the measure to which I will also be able to receive.

This is exactly how trade will look like in the future because the most important element in the process is to exchange one’s participation in the general “production” of common desires for the collective overall fulfillment.

We live in the world where the Light is unlimited. But the size of our Kli (vessel) depends on the degree of the connection between us. If the connection is negative, the vessel has no fulfillment, we live in materiality and constantly strive for self-fulfillment, like an animal.

If the connection is zero, then we are almost at the transitional level between an animal and a human being. When our connection is positive, we attain a complete degree called Man (Adam, from the word “Domeh” – similar to the Creator). We move on to a completely opposite function of money, measured not by how much I can get but by how much I can give.

The problem is how we move from the material state to the spiritual state. This is the transition we need to make with money, where it will turn into an equivalent of bestowal instead of receiving.

In this world, things that fulfill us are always in somebody else’s hands. So, in order to satisfy myself, I have to pay for pleasures. This world is just a game. In the eternal state are absolute delights, fulfillments, which are also in the hands of the Master, the Creator, nature.

How can we get these pleasures? The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches this. This wisdom is named from the word “Lekabel” – “to receive.” However, receiving is very interesting. Kabbalah teaches us that just as in this world where we pay for what we want, in the spiritual world we have to pay for what we get. Nothing is given for free!

So what do we pay with? We pay with our desires. The Creator sets the price for “endless pleasures” that are available only under one condition: being able to endlessly receive from Him. In other words, the size of our desire should have no limits. Until we reach this level, our will to receive is fulfilled or not filled, there is pleasure or the absence of pleasure.

The law leads us to obtaining perpetual enjoyment of existence beyond the parameters of this material plane. “I want to give you the entire universe, my dear guest, if you can consume all of it!” – as if the Host, Creator, tells us. But how can we make our desires endless?

At some point, after we satisfy all of our material desires, we start dealing with a qualitative evolution of the desire, thus ascending to spiritual needs and pleasures. At this point, the law of similarity of properties steps in.

Initially we are created with “small desires,” the desires of this world. They are finite because the filling is limited. But when we connect with nature using the methodology of Kabbalah, we acquire huge desires since we manage to embrace Infinity. I get fulfilled for the sake of fulfilling Him.

I receive to fulfill Him. For there is none besides Him. Where is money in the picture? It reflects various states between us. It is a huge screen that is placed between people. What do we pay to the Creator for immense pleasures He give us? Our payment is our intention to fulfill Him through accepting His gifts. All we can do is to repay Him with our positive attitude to Him.

In the future, money will work in reverse; it will be used for bestowal. We will share fulfillments with each other. We will fully invest in society, which will be the “bank” of mutual efforts to provide each other mutual guarantee. This kind of a bank is called the soul. In it, we will sense the Creator, mutually fulfilling each other endlessly.

Workers Are Lazy? The Solution Is In The Circle

laitman_600_02In the News (Russian Baazar): ‘Today, no one is working as 10 and even 50 years ago – said Dirk Samelson, owner of a small diner in California. – I have been in business for nearly 70 years and have never seen such a number of slow-moving workers. Cleaners, waiters, cooks – they are constantly distracted by smartphones or empty talk. I do not know what’s going on with this country.’

“The technological revolution and the popularity of electronic devices has led to a sharp drop in the labor productivity of Americans. People have begun to move more slowly, and the sense of responsibility and discipline has declined significantly. That is the conclusion reached by experts at CareerBuilder Resource as a result of a large-scale survey of employers. Today, one in five managers believes that his subordinates engaged in professional duties less than 5 hours within a standard 8-hour day. …

“Employers complain that their subordinates pick up their smartphones every 15 – 20 minutes. Prohibiting the use of phones during business hours, does no good. People are offended or they easily dismiss the rule or they make discrimination claims to the authorities. …

“55% of Americans use smartphones during the working day. Most often they use the Internet, studying the weather, read news, play, do shopping, send SMS-messages and rewritten in social networks. Stopping the practice of using a smartphone is impossible because workers try to do it secretly.

“39% of employees spend time on banal chatter. …

“Almost 27% of workers have a responsible attitude to their duties, but they are constantly interrupted by other colleagues. Busy people are being drawn into the conversation, forced to discuss movies and music and so on. At the same time, Americans are often ashamed to utter the phrase ‘I’m sorry, but I need to work,’ and obediently listen to non-performing peers.

“More than 27% of Americans severely abused breaks, referred to as smoke break (a smoke) and snack break (snack). A person takes 5 – 6 such breaks daily and loses at least half an hour (the official time for lunch does not count). ”

My Comment: People are not to blame; egoism is developing and they have no choice. The only solution is educating workers according to the circle method our organization has developed. See “the wisdom of the circle.” This is a method that can be recommended to everyone.

laitman_558Question: I saved money in a bank for 20 years, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I lost everything. Does this have spiritual significance?

Answer: There is a meaning to everything. Everything that happens in the world is done according to a higher calculation, “There is none else beside Him” (Deuteronomy 4:35).

More than that, this calculation is not carried out by a God in the form of an old man sitting above and calculating on paper who deserves what. Rather everything is done and actualized within the general network through which we are linked.

We are all in a universal ego and our common connection within it determines the personal fate of each one of us. So the more that we push the world toward the right mutual relationships, we assure ourselves a correct, secure, and comfortable progression toward the revelation of good, the realization of the true goal of life.

EU Politician’s Tragic Mistake

Laitman_419In the News(Vestifinance): “The leaders of the 27 EU countries have stated that the freedom of movement of labor is one of the main four freedoms, which should support each country bloc, which wants access to the single market. They also called for Britain to speed up their exit from the EU in accordance with the prescribed rules and sent them a notice of desire to get out of the union as soon as possible, so as soon as such notification is necessary for the formal launch of negotiations on the exit. Without formal notice, negotiations cannot begin. But Cameron wants his successor to formulate a strategy and informed the European colleagues to withdraw before the start of negotiations. …

“German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the most powerful leader in the EU at the moment, is trying to convince the leaders of other countries to give time to the UK to have the courage to choose a new leader and to begin formal negotiations. However, she expressed tough stance on the issue of access to the European market, noting that London can not select the privileges that it likes. …

“European leaders have recognized the need for change. But they also know that they need time to block the remaining 27 member states to regain their unity within the European Union, as in recent times there are differences, which only worsened as a result of a referendum in Britain. Countries are going to learn from the British experience. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said after the summit that the radical changes seem unrealistic. Among these changes, she called towards fiscal and political union in the current situation. This would require amending the Lisbon Treaty and carry out more referenda, namely that heads of state want to avoid. ‘This is not about unity in Europe, and on the improvement of the results,’ – said Merkel.”

My Comment: The whole problem of the European Union is expressed in these words. In the European Union there never was unity, because attainment of unity is possible only as a result of an ongoing process of education and training for the peoples, and it did not dedicate its attention to this at all.

They must recognize the difference between an “alliance of banks and industries of the nations of Europe” and an “alliance between peoples.” These concepts should not be confused. Here is the tragic mistake of the politicians of the European Union. They require educators….so the collapse of England is only the beginning of the collapse of the European Union!

Why Am I Unsuccessful In Making More Money?

laitman_628_4Question: Why is it that no matter how much I try with all my might to earn money, I don’t succeed?

Answer: It means that you don’t need more. It seems to you that if you had more money, you would use it more effectively for your needs and for the needs of those close to you, and that currently there isn’t enough for your necessities.

If you needed the money for spiritual development, you would get it. Try to make more effort in spiritual development, it doesn’t require money and you will see how all the rest will begin to change.

The New Life Of Old Dollars

laitman_228Comment: The US Federal Reserve has incorporated a new system to process dollar bills that have been taken out of circulation.

In the past, worn out dollar bills were sent to a dump, but a new recycling system has been developed lately thanks to which the bills are converted into soil. The product is sold to farmers and they raise trees, fruit, and vegetables in this soil.

Answer: It is a very good idea to make money into a fertilizer. This way there is at least some use for dollar bills.

Comment: Otherwise they are the embodiment of evil?

Answer: Money in itself isn’t evil. This is the natural equivalent of all our mental, physical, and moral efforts. You need to pay for everything, to weigh all or to barter products or services. It is like exchanging several gallons of milk for some machine or for a piece of meat or for a lecture.

This is the reason that money was invented as the general equivalent for products. In the past people used salt, sheep, or golden sand instead of money. But it wasn’t a clear equivalent and could not stand the test of time.

The Hebrew word for money “Kesef” stems from the root “Kissufim” or a screen, Masach, and it symbolizes the covering of our egoistic desires by a screen. Thus, we are ready to pay for the filling of our needs.

But when money becomes useless, we can use it on another level. Therefore, money descends from the level of the general equivalent to the level of the soil, so that something will at least grow from it.

Every Circumstance Is For A Spiritual Purpose

laitman_628_4Question: Why are some of the people destined to be poor and others rich in our world?

Answer: Poverty, wealth, health, illness, everything that the Creator sends, doesn’t depend on us; it is up to us to accept this as a fact.

If you study the wisdom of Kabbalah, then you will understand that all of your characteristics and circumstances in life are very precisely designed for you to carry out your mission, and through mutual connection with friends you will create your soul, a Masach (screen) in which you will feel the Creator.

So when thoughts about how wretched you are dominate you in all kinds of circumstances, you should know that at every given moment the Creator sends you the best possible condition for spiritual advancement.

Kabbalists Are Not Ascetics

laitman_565_01Question: Were there rich and poor Kabbalists, or is the spiritual way conditional on asceticism?

Answer: The spiritual path does not require asceticism.

In the Talmud, there is a story about two famous Kabbalists who were standing and looking at Jerusalem from a distance. One said to the other, “I have enough money to provide heat for this city for three years.”

That was a lot of money, especially 2,500 years ago. The second answered, “I have so much money that I could provide light for three years.” This suggests there were wealthy people among the Kabbalists.

A Kabbalist must work and earn money. At the same time, there is a prohibition against simply giving it away, except for necessary charity. Therefore, people accumulated a lot of money that was mainly donated for education and knowledge.

Jews are the only people who never have been illiterate. Universal education, the opening of schools, was always promoted and was the main concern of the population.

People are offended or they easily dismiss the rule or they make discrimination claims to the authorities. …

“The productivity slowdown was influenced not only by high-tech, but also the crazy protection of subordinates from their employers, carried out by the Democratic Party. Strengthening of trade unions, raising the minimum wage, the right to sue the management for any trivial matter, as well as the possibility not to work but to live at the expense of the state – all this led to the discredit of work as such. …

“A number of California researchers said that if the US returned to the level of productivity of a century ago (after World War I), it would be enough that the current employees worked 3 – 4 hours a day. …

“According to 48% of employers, the productivity slowdown is reflected most of all in the quality of work. Even if a person does very little, even this minimum is of very low quality.

“The less a person does, the greater is his contempt for higher management.

“The vast majority of small business owners in the United States stated the main criterion for the selection of potential employees are honesty, responsibility and discipline. Surprisingly, even a quarter of a century ago, the overall leading factor in the selection of workers was their education and work experience.”

My Comment: The reason for the growing laziness is the developing egoism. The motivation to work will be renewed only in a collective that will have a sublime goal, as Baal HaSulam writes in his book “The Last Generation.”
