Difference between States

528.02Question: How can I feel what state I am in, Katnut (small state) or Gadlut (big state)?

Answer: Check with your friends what you want when you are connected.

Comment: We want to reveal the Creator together.

Response: Then you need a big state—Gadlut.

Question: Is Katnut a constant state in the ten?

Answer: No, not Katnut, that is just a constant desire.

Practical Work with Intention

222How can you practically work with intention when you receive corporeal pleasure?

It does not matter whether I receive spiritual or corporeal pleasure, I must thank the Creator for it. Any pleasure can be clothed in the intention for the sake of bestowal. To do this, you need to analyze the pleasure received and surround it with your attitude toward the Creator and want to thank Him for the pleasure given to you.

I understand that pleasure comes from the Creator and I want to accept it with blessing, in reflected light, that is, in my response to the Creator. And I feel how this brings me closer to the Creator. It is as if the Creator takes a step toward me, gives me pleasure, and I, respond to Him with my grateful attitude, also take a step toward Him, and we become closer to each other. This means that I can now receive pleasure in the Kelim of bestowal.

The Creator dresses in corporeal clothes, because only in such low clothes are we still able to feel the pleasure given to us. The Creator is present in everything we enjoy: in a piece of bread, in sweet sugar, in a sip of water, in pleasant smells and sounds. The Creator clothes in all this and that is why we notice different changes.

When we unite and receive pleasure, we can bring contentment to the Creator. After all, it is He who, every moment and in every state, brings His light into every form of pleasure, unity, and mutual bestowal.

The Creator Is Always at the Center of My Picture

276.02First I have to imagine the Creator in the center of my picture. Some forces are acting on me, at the center of which is the Creator, and I direct all my actions, with which I want to respond to Him, at Him.

The first condition is that “There is none else besides Him,” without which nothing will work, and He sends me all the states, no matter what I do. And that is why I have to answer Him. In every action, I count on the Creator: only from the Creator do I receive awakening, what to do and in what form, and only to Him do I turn with a response, that is, what impression I want to evoke in the Creator by my action.

And if I act all the time in this way: “I am to my Beloved, and my Beloved is to me,” then I will succeed very quickly.

Getting Out of the Emptiness

263Question: What is the difference between the fact that a person feels dead in spirituality and that he wants nothing but spirituality?

Answer: The difference is vast. In one state, you get everything; in the other, you get emptiness. What could be more vivid about a person’s desires?

Question: There is a void in both places. Does spirituality also unfold from the void?

Answer: Spirituality is revealed not from emptiness, but from the fact that you are empty.

An Attack on the Creator

935Question: What is an attack on the Creator?

Answer: This means that with the help of the actions that the Creator performs in the world on each of you and all of you, you want to influence Him so that He changes His attitude toward you, helps, and lifts you up.

Question: Is the attack a prayer?

Answer: Prayer, action, it does not matter.

Question: How do I verify that we have made an attack? In a conventional war, this is understandable because the result is immediately visible. How do we see that we influenced Him when He starts helping us? Is this even possible?

Answer: Yes, it is possible. Moreover, you will enter into an action together with the Creator.

Question: How can we organize an attack in the ten?

Answer: Come to an agreement with each other, try it, and see where it leads you.

Eyes of Holiness

961.2This is the meaning of “your eyes are as doves.” Eynaim [eyes] of Kedusha [holiness], called Eynaim of the Shechina [Divinity], are Yonim [doves]. They deceive us and we think that she has no Eynaim, as it is written in The Zohar, “A fair maiden who has no eyes” (Baal HaSulam, Shamati 28, “I Shall Not Die but Live”).

The eyes of holiness are the precise, pure attitude of the Creator toward creation. Next to it, there are other degrees. Based on the degrees one merits to reach, he looks at what is happening to him, to the world, and the Creator.

Question: Why does it say the eyes of the Holy Shechina deceive us?

Answer: Because we do not actually see them. Shechina without eyes is faith above reason.

Question: It follows that until we come to bestowal or reveal the Shechina, we are blind and do not see the truth. How can we find the way? How will it be shown to us?

Answer: Only through the connection between you. If you want to unite and reveal the Creator in your unity, you will succeed.

Feedback

608.02Question: What does it mean to make the right decision that immediately leads to correction?

Answer: Making the right decision that immediately leads to correction is difficult. But gradually, we are getting to it.

When we begin to understand the negative and positive influences of the Creator, we influence Him ourselves, i.e., we establish feedback and reflected light (Ohr Hozer). Thus, we gradually choose which of our qualities can differ from the Creator’s and benefit us.

Question: In feedback, is the main thing that we want to reflect the pleasure that the Creator wishes to give us or that we want to return this pleasure to Him?

Answer: The main thing is that we want to return the pleasure.
