Comment: Now a generation is coming into the world called the coronavirus generation. Analysts believe that this generation will be familiar with free money from the state and have the desire to receive an unconditional basic income. They say there will be a lot of emptiness, drug use, and longing in this generation. We are bringing into the world a generation about which we speak in advance as “lost.”

My Response: It is not our fault. It is nobody’s fault. This is the order of development, this is the evolution of our desires.

To begin with, this generation does not have such desires as we had: to achieve something, to be someone, and so on. This athlete, that writer, this rich man—there is no such thing anymore! There are no desires whatsoever for anything. There is no special ambition.

But I hope that at the same time with the feeling of emptiness, they will begin to feel a radically new filling of giving, a loving attitude toward others.

I cannot fulfill myself, and I do not want to. I am already detached, I no longer have any of that in me. I am too lazy, I do not want to get up or do anything, I do not have anything for myself. But toward others, I can develop such qualities in myself that when I fulfill the other, I begin to feel that it makes sense. There is a desire in it, there is a fulfillment in it.

Question: So, now I am blocked from anything that concerns fulfilling myself directly? Life for myself is blocked for me from all sides.

Answer: Yes. Man has simply spent himself. And here he begins to understand that by fulfilling others, he can fulfill himself. This is a kind of self-filling, but of a different type.

Question: That is, by loving someone else, giving to someone else, I fulfill myself?

Answer: Yes, I fulfill myself. But the point here is that you have to come to a state where you fulfill the other not in order to be fulfilled yourself, but because you want to be in the other and feel and enjoy his fulfillment, and not to think of yourself, absolutely not! Otherwise, you will be back to where you started from, just like in a circle.

I think people will be able to realize this quickly. That same egoism will lead us to this, which is interesting. It buries itself and brings out another type instead.

The masses will come to this from the inevitability, from suffering, from the feeling of insignificance, worthlessness, emptiness. Like how we came to Kabbalah. Only with them it will be more prominent. Because it will be a massive sense of the end. And through this end, through this void, they will see the light. Through the thorns to the stars, from the darkness to the light.

Question: That is, it is necessary to completely destroy everything, practically lay a man down, and then he will see a way out of this state?

Answer: And at the very last stage, when you are completely done, “that’s it, the end!”—that’s where you start to see: no, this is not the end, this is just the beginning! It will be so.

Question: But this is inhumane. And what does the word “humane” mean to you?

Question: Does inner emptiness manifest in an already developed soul?

Answer: It is not emptiness but a request for the next level of existence, the level of Man.

Man is not an animal. In our world there is inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature. We are on the animate level. But who is man then?

There is no man in our world. Man is a completely different being, it is not us. We cannot call ourselves human beings because we only care about our body: how to exist within it.

Comment: Because we do not know anything else.

My Response: Not that we do not know, we do not have a request for it. Therefore, we are also animals, only more highly organized ones, if you can say so.

Question: Let’s say that children are more developed souls. Parents are less developed because they do not have this request. It is good if they try to understand the child somehow. But if they suppress it, take him to psychologists, give him Ritalin?

Answer: Unfortunately, this is a big problem. But such actions will not achieve anything. It means it will take another generation or two before that goes away too. As a result, we will get a terrible generation.

We do not want to be engaged in giving our children a real understanding of the essence of life. We do not want to break the foundations of our schools made according to the conveyor type.

How old is the modern school? A little over a hundred years. Schools began to be created when the production line appeared. Then they began to quickly train workers who would be able to read a little, write a little, understand the orders, understand the conveyor-type machines.

Therefore, the modern school was created in exactly the same flow—to force people there, to train them into workers, and to put them to work on machines. Our education system emerged from that. And to this day, it is the same.

And today the world is different—informational. The needs of our children are completely different, and the school remains the same. Children cannot thrive in it! They just “die” in it.

The school does not educate a person. It fills them with knowledge, completely unnecessary for today. We need a different school, a different education system, a different atmosphere in the school! We must make schools suitable for the new generation! And then there will be no problems with Ritalin.

Maybe it is better for children to run from morning to night, and while running, organize some classes and not sit all day in drills and look at the hated teacher. This is not how things should be organized!

Who says this is correct? Because that is how it was arranged 150 years ago when workers were needed for the assembly-line industry? We do not need it now! How many people are employed in such jobs today? Everything is being rebuilt, everything is changing. And so we need to make the world fit the children who are growing up today, and not prod fit them into our Procrustean bed so they correspond to it.

It is outside of, external to, our mind. This is why one is out of their mind.

Comment: Thinking in terms of mutual cooperation between systems and time is not a simple matter, but such thinking is the best means to differ from the masses. You simply understand that it is the formula of the whole creation, not only of our world, but of all the upper worlds.

My Response: So we need to operate in order to be compatible with creation, and to draw others to follow us, to push them forward, to mutually cooperate with everyone in order to be Adam, human, and not be bored somewhere in the corner, wearing slippers and dozing off on the couch in front of the television.

Question: What is the image of this person? Is he a warrior? A scientist?

Answer: This person is courageous in spirit. Not necessarily physically, but in spirit. This means that he understands that he has to give humanity something. If they take it, he succeeds, if they don’t, he does not succeed, but he should. A person who feels that he should is Adam.

Comment: A writer asks, “I want to understand how I can cope with myself. I cannot help telling the truth to people. I feel bad if I hide it and, therefore, I constantly break up relations; I speak the truth. I do not know what to do.” This is such a heartfelt cry.

My Response: This is not a heartfelt cry. It is a cry of egoism because he wants to impose his opinion on others. He believes that he understands the state of others, their wrong state, their possible correct state, and he wants to impose his understanding on them. This is absolute egoism that must simply be destroyed within oneself.

Who gives you the right to impose your opinion, your feelings, and your tastes on others?! Do they expect this from you?! Even if you think that this will make you better, it still does not give you the right to approach them and start filling them with your reasoning, tastes, goals, and so on.

Comment: I must say that there are a lot of people who think so.

My Response: This is such upbringing.

Question: Is there, generally speaking, such a truth that needs to be told to a person?

Answer: Truth is only in giving a person freewill so that he chooses his truth and that’s all. This is the most important thing in raising children and in relationships between adults as well.

Question: How can we do it?

Answer: Teach a person the technique of the correct revelation of life. If it were so, then we would all live perfectly, and so it will be someday.

Question: Usually, parents try to impose their values on their children, and children absolutely do not accept this. Today, for example, they do not accept an excessive desire for knowledge or for work. Is this fundamentally wrong?

Answer: Each generation has its own aspirations. The old generation in no way can impose their understanding of nature on the younger generation. It has outlived themselves and should give them only nourishment.

And the new generation must develop in its desires and aspirations. It is only desirable that they be correct and not as tangled and broken as they are today.

You should never impose the thoughts and values of the old generation on the new one. Educate by example only. With this example, I show that I solve all questions, needs, tasks in this way: respecting, calculating, being in balance with the environment, with myself, with my family, etc. Therefore, according to my example, they will also solve their problems at their own level, with the same attitude toward them.

We only need an example, no words. Children understand everything like monkeys. They understand us better than we think.

The main thing for us is to correct ourselves, and then we will be able to influence them in this way. In addition, our inner desires and inner corrections are associated with their souls because they come from us.

If for their sake we want to create a correct, harmonious, kind society, which takes into account each other and wants to achieve mutual public consent, then they will feel it. In them, it will begin to act in spite of and without any prodding from our side.

I really hope that this will be the catalyst, the button, that will push us and force us to start correcting ourselves.

Comment: But you say that our generation is a generation of spoiled, lost people.

My Response: Moreover, it is the spoiled people who can begin to change for the sake of their children, so that at least in them they can see a certain direction for the better.

Otherwise, can you imagine how unhappy they will be compared to us! We will see a completely disfigured, twisted, incomprehensible society, which stagnates in convulsions and does not know how to escape from suffering. We will see this in our children and grandchildren.

Question: And what to do?

Answer: Just turn to yourself. We cannot fix them. Turn to yourself, without looking at them. And suddenly we will see how they begin to take an example from us, begin to draw closer to us and participate with us in new relations to each other, in the construction of a new society.

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “What are some ways to end child abuse?“

The ultimate solution to end child abuse is the same solution to end all of our problems in our time: to work on our connections so that they become positive, and that we will prioritize concern for others over self-concern.

If mothers, for instance, came together and connected in order to change society, so that a mutual concern would blossom around children and babies, then this concern would bridge all distances and boundaries. Such a concern would become expressed through these mothers connecting several times a day, and the creation and consumption of programming that they would make on the Internet, the TV, and the radio on the topic, which would raise awareness of what children go through both at schools and in their homes.

If such a concern would spread throughout society, even if only among mothers, then it would change the picture regarding child abuse, as well as several other problems children experience. However, it is currently far from the case. They feel no need to connect in such a way. Each mother cares only about her own children, which is insufficient.

Ending child abuse thus involves generating a supportive environment through sharing the same concern, that all of us together will take care of this common problem, where we will care for other children in addition to our own, and others will do the same. Until we reach such a mutual concern for each other’s children in society, then we will continue seeing more and more unfortunate cases of child abuse.

We need a special force here, a unifying force that will influence society, and unless mothers come together and unite, then this force will elude us.

Answer: We can control ourselves and our emotions only through the influence of the right environment.

These are people who are more focused on the true revelation of the world. If you are among them, you can also correctly orient yourself, and thus all your feelings and emotions will come into relative order.

Answer: Yes. It is the power of bestowal and love, of good connection. You can feel it from others.

Answer: Sure. They are given to us so that we can make an inverse realization of them, to move from egoism to altruism, to bestowal and love.

Answer: If I envy others who have more distinct traits of bestowal, love, and connection with others, good mutual assistance, and so on, then this envy plays a huge positive role, and I need to develop it.

If I’m in the company of good people and I don’t envy them, then I don’t use the opportunity given to me to gather the best from them.

Question: And if we take a more complex quality, such as arrogance?

Answer: This is also a good quality. Any quality can be used both for good and bad. If I don’t have arrogance, then I’ll take from everyone what’s in them. And if I am arrogant, that is, I value myself, my ability to make a special person out of myself, then I will only look at the good sides of others.

Comment: In this way, you can inversely evaluate and try to use each quality. Let’s say anger is what drives me to act. I can be angry at myself for not being better than I am.

My Response: Sure. There is nothing evil in nature. All qualities are given to us in order to use them correctly. They all have to be good, it all depends on their application by a person.

Question: So the very definition of “bad quality” is fundamentally wrong?

Answer: Yes. It’s our egoism that drives us to use them.

Answer: It depends on the person. A quality cannot be bad in itself.
