What Do Kabbalists Strive for?

212Question: It is said that one should feel the taste of life in the Torah and commandments.
Is there an image of a Kabbalist or a group of Kabbalists striving for?

Answer: Kabbalists strive to feel within themselves what is said in the Torah, the commandments, and, overall, in spiritual life.

Question: I do not know if we can reach such heights as you have, but can we at least ask the Creator for the ability to write and disseminate?

Answer: Ask the Creator for everything that relates to your correction, and you will receive everything. Just keep asking, if possible, non-stop.

Holy Divinity in the Ten

942Question: It is said you can receive the light of mercy from the Creator if you ask, not for yourself, but for the society, for the holy Divinity. What does it mean?

Answer: This means that you are asking for filling with the highest light of mercy, the light of Hassadim.

Question: We work in a group, but are we talking about the whole world here?

Answer: No, to feel this light in the group is enough. In other words, you can sense the holy Divinity in the ten.

The holy Divinity is a good relationship between you in the ten. Ohr Hassadim determines it.

The Meaning of Congresses

947We have already reached a state where everyone feels that we, the inhabitants of the Earth, are at a dead end. Nature deliberately drives us into a corner so that we can find a way out of it. The Earth’s population is considering how to get out of this descent, impasse, and crisis.

And we recognize the crisis as the moment of the birth of a new state. That is how the word “crisis” is translated from Hebrew. The crisis is a place made of special stones on which a woman sits and gives birth. You understand how interesting and confusing all this is.

It is explained to us that this is our moment, our time. It means that we have gathered at a time when we are about to give birth to an entirely new state of humanity.

Therefore, we need to organize a ten that will implement this, demonstrate it, and be able to lead everyone. As soon as a higher illumination appears in us, earthly people, all of humanity, will follow us automatically, like children following an adult. To do this, we need to unite correctly so that the light begins to manifest itself in us.

That is the meaning of congresses. We must think of the light manifesting itself in us to lead humanity forward and, on the other hand, to bring pleasure to the Creator. And we are in the middle, fulfilling our role. We do not need anything else. We are like an adapter, a connecting link, between all humanity and the Creator. And humanity needs it.

We Don’t Talk about what We Haven’t Attained

243.01Question: What is the light of Ruach? Is it when, under pressure, we switch and begin to act from all states simultaneously?

Answer: Ruach is when you combine all the influences on you into a single impact. And Neshama is the relationship of your collective desires, their joint striving toward the goal.

When you achieve this, you will understand everything. But if you have not yet reached an understanding, you do not even have the right to speak about it.

A person cannot speak about what he has not attained. That has always been a rule for a Kabbalist. But your questions seem like you have broken down The Study of the Ten Sefirot into parts, divided it into pieces, and started to analyze and synthesize based on your own conclusions. That is completely unacceptable.

Only to the extent of acquiring the power of faith can a person attain the Torah. And if there is no faith, no bestowal, if he is not aiming toward this, everything turns into Klipa.

Effort beyond Human Strength

282.01Question: Baal HaSulam writes that the salvation of the Creator can only be found in effort beyond human strength. We constantly exert effort in our ten during daily lessons, meetings, and calls. But what does it mean to exert effort beyond human strength?

Answer: These are efforts that a person cannot make, but he still exerts in them and hopes that the Creator will add what is needed to his efforts.

Question: What are these efforts, for example, in the ten, that I cannot make? Is it some kind of addition, like another meeting or another prayer?

Answer: Mainly it is prayer. It seems like we are doing everything physically, yet we are not achieving the desired result.

Questions about Spiritual Work—166

963.4Question: What is the benefit of praying for my friends not only during the ten meetings but constantly, without a set schedule?

Answer: The benefit is that you will continuously channel your prayers and the Creator’s responses through you to them, and in doing so, you will become like a leader in the group, pulling them along with you.

Question: It is said that pure and impure are a matter of a person’s perception. When will we feel that we are pure? Should we check this somehow?

Answer: How will you check it? You can only ask the Creator to reveal your true state to you.

Question: Can we reach one single truth in the group?

Answer: That is how it will be, not now, but at the end of the path. It will be recognizing the revelation of a single desire for all and filling it with light.

Question: When a person finds their love and creates a family, a couple, isn’t this primarily an egoistic action? How should we treat this?

Answer: You should not treat this in any particular way. A person should check whether they are acting out of a good attitude toward others or out of an evil one. That is all.

Question: You said that it cannot be that the truth harms someone. In terms of dissemination, we cannot tell the whole truth there, can we?

Answer: You should always say what benefits people and what is pleasant for them. These two conditions must always be met. You are offering them a method by which they can reveal the meaning of life, its purpose, and how to achieve it. The third condition is to speak the truth. If you adhere to these three conditions, everything will be fine.

Egoism of the Spiritual Degree

509Question: Let’s say I ask the Creator to change my qualities so that it would be possible to bestow and ask for friends. Am I asking for my private soul?

Answer: No, this is a mistake. This is egoism! Asking for yourself to be a bestower, to care for others, and so on is a mistake.

Comment: But I am asking to give it to me for the sake of bestowal.

My Response: No one needs it in order to bestow. And the Creator too. Bestowal can only be in unification. You have to ask for a structure, for the correction of the common Kli. Only from it can you bestow and do something through this structure.

Therefore, it is said: “An individual cannot separate from society and ask for himself, even to bring contentment to the Creator.”

This is not simple. There is a lot to figure out. It is a big problem. It is not so relevant for us yet. God willing that everyone will ask for themselves to be a bestower, to love friends, and so on. This is also egoism, but of the spiritual degree. But still egoism:

  • Give me the strength to love my friends.
  • Why should you be given strength? For what purpose?
  • I want to love them.
  • And why do you need to love?
  • I will unite with them.
  • Why do you need this unification?
  • In order to bring contentment to the Creator.
  • So, ask for that!

Ask for that. The most important thing for us is to understand that there is nothing else in front of us except the Creator and our common spiritual Kli, the soul, which must be similar to Him.

All we have to ask for is for this similarity of the soul to the Creator. That is all. Meaning, there is no me there, no friends, no group, nothing at all. There is a soul for which I ask.

Spiritual Lights

276.02Question: What is the difference between the light of mercy and the light of love? Is this the initial stage toward love?

Answer: It is the difference between the light of Hassadim and the light of Hochma. It manifests itself in a person in completely different circumstances.

In spirituality, there is the light of Hochma (wisdom) and the light of Hassadim (mercy). The light of Hassadim is weaker, the light of Hochma is stronger. Therefore, first we must come to the light of Hassadim, which gives us the opportunity to work with Kelim of bestowal.

And then we reach a state where we already have the light of Hochma (the light of wisdom), and will be able to work with Kelim of reception for the sake of bestowal.
