When you come to the convention, you need to jump into this sea of love. Even in ordinary life it happens that when you love someone, it is impossible to keep your feelings inside; they pour out. This is the relationship we want with the Creator.

Here we are not talking about love between a man and a woman or parents and children, but about the kind of love that is above bodies and above all calculations—a boundless ocean where you can enter and disappear in its depths. This is how we need to drown in our feelings, like in the ocean.

We enter this sea; it picks us up and carries us. It pulls us in all directions, and it makes us feel that we are in the ocean of our friends’ love, in the sea of our unity. I am not afraid of drowning in this sea; on the contrary, I feel surrounded by friends, I am together with them, and there are no boundaries to our mutual feelings.

The sea is Malchut, and therefore there is a custom of going into the sea and plunging headlong three times. This is a wonderful thing.
