Question: Baal HaSulam, in the article “The Last Generation,” writes that all of humanity should come to an altruistic society, not just one country, because today we are all interconnected in a global system. But some countries adhere to a nationalist trend, separate themselves from others, and try to create an independent economy, and some of society wants to have a global system. How do you see it?
Answer: I believe everything will gradually become a global system. Our interdependence will lead us to this.
Question: Does it mean cosmopolitanism is the correct form?
Answer: Yes.
Question: But if you look at the body’s structure, each organ still has its properties. How can we avoid losing the national values inherent in every nation?
Answer: Each nation will keep its own, and no one will interfere there. We are referring only to the proper redistribution of income and wealth between segments of the population and between countries.

Baal HaSulam Describes The Society Of The Future
Thus, those who agreed among them to unite into a group understood that there isn’t such a great distance between them in the sense that they recognize the necessity to work in love of others. Therefore, each of them will be able to make concessions in favor of the others, and they can unite around that (Rabash, Article 8, “Make Yourself Rav and Buy Yourself a Friend -2”).
Of the many desires that exist in each of us, there is one desire that is the same for everyone. It is the desire to attain the Creator, to direct all our gaze toward Him. Each person who agrees to engage in love of others feels that there is no great difference of opinion between them.
If we want to reveal the Creator, but we are all egoists and we all have about the same work to do on ourselves, then by uniting in our efforts, we are able to yield to each other, and then we will be able to unite and reach the Creator.
However, there is a small contradiction here. We can reach the Creator only together, and in order to be together, we need to unite, and in order to unite, we must yield to each other.
Therefore, it is necessary to make a calculation about what is more important: my “I,” a small egoist with his worthless, petty, temporary life, or attainment of the Creator, my future state of eternity, perfection.
And then by throwing my life on the scales to decide what to do, I will be able to yield everything in favor of others in order to achieve similarity to the Creator. Thus, unification will be the most important achievement in my life, my only dream.

Answer: He should consider this and pray to the Creator to correct this trait within him.
Question: What is arrogance? What is its corrected side?
Answer: Arrogance is the negative side and the positive side is humility, the act of lowering oneself before others.

Question: Is it important for our progress to scrutinize the nuances of good feelings between us?
Answer: Yes, it is important to clarify these feelings, not just between you, but within yourself. Then you will see that each friend occupies a specific place in your heart.
Question: In my soul I want to love everyone in the group. But as soon as I feel I love everyone, a friend’s ego is revealed and he “drills a hole in the boat.” Should I pray for my correction, my friends, or the whole group?
Answer: Pray for each friend individually, for all of them, and for the entire group. In addition, pray for yourself so you do not harbor negative thoughts about them and will always think well of them.

Question: Intellectually I understand that all the evil is within me. But how can I reach a state where this recognition causes me pain and I begin to hate the evil? How can I turn the recognition of evil into a feeling?
Answer: Ask the Creator to open your eyes so that you begin to feel whether you are in reception or bestowal or coming closer to Him or moving away from Him. Pray for Him to do this.
Question: How can one transform from impure to pure, from wicked to righteous? Essentially, I am wicked. Even if the Creator corrects me, I will still remember that there was evil within me.
Answer: That is true. Try and you will see the result. You do not have to wait for it for thousands of years; you can achieve it in your current life.

Question: What is the difference between forming a union of love and connection in the material world and in the spiritual?
Answer: A material union is based only on material benefits and promises, while a spiritual union depends solely on a shared aspiration toward a common goal.
Question: So does this mean there is no light from the Creator when people form a union in the material world?
Answer: No, there is nothing from the Creator. For that, there are lawyers, judges, and so on. They can be consulted.
Question: If our group has the sole desire to attain love for the Creator, but we are still in the material world, how can we determine that we have formed a spiritual union in the group and that the Creator is the guarantor for us?
Answer: The Creator is not a guarantor for anyone. We must be guarantors for each other. You should thoroughly study the article on mutual responsibility.

Question: Can we ask for elevated spiritual things even if we are not yet similar to the Creator?
Answer: The thing is that when you engage in this, you draw upon yourself the upper light, which corrects and elevates you.
Question: Can it be said that a vessel of bestowal is compassion, which can attract the light of Hassadim and can the light of Hochma be received in a vessel of compassion?
Answer: No, that is impossible. These are entirely different levels of desire. Level two is a vessel of bestowal. Level four is a vessel of reception.
Question: Eternity is adhesion. It is written in TES that if there were no line (Kav), creation would be merged with infinity. Why must the light enter through the Kav step by step and gradually?
Answer: This is necessary for the development of creation so that it becomes similar to the Creator and capable of receiving the light from Him and then giving the light back, thus becoming equal to the Creator. So, gradually, we will begin to perceive all of this correctly.
Question: Is there a difference between organizing a common desire in a ten, a group, or all of Bnei Baruch? Is it one vessel or different vessels?
Answer: These are similar vessels, but it all depends on the number of units in each vessel—whether a ten, a group, or a global vessel. There is, of course, a difference.

In the article “The Last Generation” Baal HaSulam explains that the biblical principle of love your neighbor as yourself will manifest itself in our world in the future in a social system called communist altruism in which most people will become altruists—not naturally, but after correcting their egoism.
This will be manifested in the fact that they will work for society 12 hours a day and enjoy it.
Question: Actually the picture is not very cheerful. It is hard to imagine that people will work so many hours. On the contrary, they say that, in principle, people will work less, a couple of times a week for three or four hours or even less than that. Perhaps it all depends on what will be considered work?
Answer: Yes, the fact is that there will indeed be much less work, people will work less, but they will have other activities. They will engage in self-improvement. This will be considered their work.
