Treatment With The Meaning Of Life

198Question: People who turn to psychotherapists for the most part believe that they are losing the meaning of life. Therefore, in psychotherapy there is a whole branch of methods in which all kinds of religious dogmas, theories, and insights are very actively involved.

The well-known psychotherapist Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust survivor who was imprisoned in a concentration camp, treated many people there and gave them the feeling that everyone’s life has some purpose. By redirecting this vector in the right direction, a person suddenly comes to life even in the most terrible conditions.

What is your opinion on therapy with the meaning of life?

Answer: I do not know what criteria you use in order to convince a person that there is meaning in his life.

Religion speaks of the meaning of suffering in the following way: “Here you will suffer, there you will receive a reward.”

And Kabbalah says that a person must rise to such a level during his lifetime—and this fits every person—in order to feel and understand that all suffering is not suffering at all, meaning that we transform them into pleasures. Naturally, this depends on our point of view. We understand that all this is psychology and nothing more.

Kabbalah does not belong to religions. It does not name some special higher powers, but real forces of nature. It names the highest forces of nature the Creator: the Creator of nature, the crown of nature, etc., but nothing more, without attributing any dogmas or anything else. That is, everything is inside a person.

This attitude does not depend on any confessions or nationalities. All that is needed is the desire of a person and the influence of the right team on him.

First, you need to create such an environment and slowly, using it as a laboratory, as a test bench, introduce people there. And the team will process them correctly. It is possible. Moreover, it is a very fast and relatively easy technique.

We know the strength of the influence of the environment on a person. It has been sufficiently studied, and everyone uses it, from secret government services to everyone else, both at school and everywhere.

In Contradiction With The Laws Of The Land Of Israel

747.01Question: The five books of the Torah tell the story before entering the land of Israel, does this mean they only talk about rising above egoism and not about working on it itself? Is it about the law “Do not do unto others what you would not like others to do unto yourself”?

Answer: Yes. There was no question of love here because it can only be in the Land of Israel—”Eretz Yisrael.” “Eretz” is desire (Ratzon), “Yisra El“—directly to the Creator.

Therefore, the law “Do not do unto others what you would not like others to do unto you” was passed by the people together with Moses before entering Israel.

There are a lot of laws that we need to accept in order to be in the correct interaction with each other. And there are laws that you need to start following when you enter the land of Israel. But now we are not even in non-fulfillment, but in complete contradiction with the laws of the land of Israel.

Question: Why is the spring compressed so that we do not even follow the elementary laws?

Answer: In order for us to realize that we are in the state opposite to what we want.

A Difficult Path Of Disseminating The Wisdom Of Kabbalah

214Comment: Baal HaSulam went beyond the framework of the generally recognized Kabbalist by engaging in wide public activities. He met with public figures and wrote articles that no Kabbalist had written before.

My Response: Baal HaSulam tried to advertise, disseminate, and spread the wisdom of Kabbalah in any way possible. He met with many other Kabbalists, scientists, statesmen, and ordinary people. He traveled to Poland during the May Day demonstrations to somehow use the enthusiasm of the Polish workers and to tell them what they could bring to our world and how to change their lives with the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah. Generally speaking, he did everything in his power to disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Rabash was much more modest and on a much lower level. He lived in a time when there was already a great force of resistance and so, to put it bluntly, he did not really go wild. I grew up by his side, and I saw how limited his actions were.

When he passed away I continued his legacy and have set for myself the goal to disseminate the idea of the wisdom of Kabbalah as much as possible in every language and all over the world, on the Internet and wherever possible, without paying attention to any opposition I might encounter. Even if the whole world curses me, I will still do it. Thus, despite the world’s resistance, I am still here.

Comment: But on the other hand, Rabash was still a great revolutionary like his father. He accepted forty totally non-religious students.

My Response: Yes, yet he did gently, not so harshly. It was a great leap forward.

Israel Will Not Be Left In Peace

961.2Comment: The UN has established a commission to investigate human rights violations in the Palestinian territories and in Israel as a result of the latest operation Guardian of the Walls. After each military operation, a commission in the UN is formed and they constantly want to judge our soldiers and officers.

24 countries voted in favor, 9 against, and 14 abstained. Look who is voting in favor! Those who trample their citizens, kill them, put them in concentration camps. They are the ones voting to condemn Israel.

My Response: This is the world we live in.

Question: Soon we will not be able to carry out any military operation at all, even the most precise, and not be condemned later or face a military tribunal declaring something against us. How can we defend ourselves?

Answer: We do not need to defend ourselves. We need to act the only way we can, that is, to turn to the Creator, unite above egoism, and then no one will attack us. That is all. Otherwise, we will not get away with anything.

Comment: But no one understands this except you and a small number of Kabbalists.

My Response: Then it will be bad. These are laws of upper nature and we cannot escape them. If we do not execute them, it will be bad. If we do it at some point, it will be good.

Question: But everyone already sees perfectly well that logic does not work, that it is impossible to prove anything. But for some reason, we don’t arrive at these conclusions. Why does this happen to us all the time?

Answer: Because the whole world exists within the framework of egoism! So it draws correct conclusions.

Question: What does it demand from Israel?

Answer: I think that ultimately it would demand that Israel simply leave, and that’s it. Disarm Israel and remove its entire population. They would receive demilitarized land, which would immediately be populated at the delight of all nations around us—the Arabs.

Comment: And start wars between each other.

My Response: It does not matter what they start. It is their business. No one will blame them for it.

Question: So they really want to destroy the only democracy in this region?

Answer: They do not consider democracy. It is not a consideration for them. It is in their way. In everybody’s way: Arabs, Americans, Russians, no matter who. It is an obstacle for everybody.

Question: What should we do?

Answer: We must either correct ourselves the way we need to be corrected, or we have to get out of here.

To correct ourselves means to achieve a bond of friendship, brotherhood, and even love.

We must create those conditions, those relations between us. And then nothing else is needed.

Question: You do not even have to arm yourself,  you do not have to do anything?

Answer: We can stay with what we have for now, but actually, it will not be needed.

Question: We need a strong army in order for time to come when we can unite with each other?

Answer: Yes. We need to create such relations between us. That’s it! And the world will watch and rejoice.

Question: And so, peace and quiet will come to the world only because of this small point where this great event took place?

Answer: Of course! It all started here, and it will end here.

Question: Is this what they want us to understand?

Answer: Yes. But we do not understand. And we will not understand if for a while longer; it is a stiff-necked nation.

Question: How do you see the future? The time-frame, how much time do we have?

Answer: I don’t know. We need to act. Our organization, which understands this, must act and spread this knowledge in the world, among the nations of the world, mainly among the Jews. What happens next is none of our business.

We must spread this knowledge everywhere.

The Future—Living In Natural Conditions

448.12Question: Today we are faced with life in large cities—megacities. Is there any way to help city residents improve their happiness index?

Answer: First of all, it still depends on the attitude between one person toward another. But it is much easier to implement this when you create natural conditions for people.

I often visited my friends and students in small towns in America where it takes half an hour to get from one house to another by car because these houses are surrounded by a lot of land. But since everyone has a car, it is not difficult to socialize.

And although it is a long way to go to work, it is still much more comfortable to live like this. People get used to it.

I think that cities, the way they are today—multi-story reinforced concrete or brick boxes—are absolutely not ecological and unproductive.

They may be beneficial to those who build them because you can easily bring all communications into one place and populate one building with several thousand people. But I would not go to a house like this. Although, on the other hand, I have lived in such houses all my life.

I am confident that the future lies in a more evenly populated land.

At The Beginning Of Development Of Egoism

41.01Question: The story about Abraham in Genesis begins with the fact that in Ancient Babylon, people lived as one nation and spoke the same language. Nobody ruled over others. How can this be? After all, before that, tens of thousands of different tribes fought with each other.

Answer: There was a period in Mesopotamia, between the Tigris and the Euphrates, when there were no contradictions in the place where the Babylonians lived because everything was in abundance. There were fish in the rivers, the fertile land yielded a good harvest, and people did not need anything. They did not even envy each other and were not competitive.

Everything was very good. Nobody ruled over the others, everyone was equal. People lived in a calm, as if preserved state. This indicates a zero (root) degree of egoism. At that time, it was just beginning to develop in humanity.

In principle, we are considering ancient Babylon as the initial state of humanity when people did not yet feel egoism, greed, envy, and so on within themselves.

The root degree is dead egoism. It does not need more than it has. It represents the initial animalistic state of humanity.

“The Task Facing Humanity” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “The Task Facing Humanity

There are countless tasks facing humanity: We have to offset our negative influence on the climate, make sure everyone has clean drinking water, minimal healthcare, and staple foods. We also have to tend to the millions, if not billions of oppressed people around the world, to the growing inequality between the haves and the have nots, to the depression of so many people who seem to have everything but can’t find satisfaction in life, and so on and so forth. How can we deal with all those problems? The short answer is “We can’t!” The (slightly) longer answer is “We can’t because we’re dealing with the problems separately instead of looking for their common root. If we dealt with this, we would solve them all, and quickly.”

So far, I have not seen anyone seriously looking for the root cause behind everything that’s going on. Can it be that all our problems, social, emotional, environmental, and political, have nothing in common? That is, the only thing that is obviously common to them is man, but what is it about man that’s causing these problems? Are different things about us causing the different problems, or are they stemming from one root flaw?

From everything I’ve learned in science and in Kabbalah, everything is connected. Cybernetics, the field of science that I studied, teaches how to deal with systems. It relates to everything as a system whose parts are interrelated and interdependent. The wisdom of Kabbalah says exactly the same. The natural conclusion should therefore be that the problem is with the system we are living in, the system that connects us all.

In other words, if we fix the connections among the parts in the system, the system will function well, achieve balance, or homeostasis, to use a more scientific language, and our lives will run smoothly. The root cause of our problems, therefore, is not with each part individually, but with the connections among them.

Currently, these connections are negative. This means that the parts are striving to disconnect from the system or take over the system. If you take our brain as an example, it would be as if neuron in our brain tried to disconnect from all the others or, alternatively, to dominate them. Would such a brain be functional?

Humanity is like the brain of the world we live in. Yet, we are as dysfunctional as the brain in the example I just gave; this is why our planet and our lives are looking so dismal.

If we want to change the world we live in, to change our society, and to change our own future from the miserable one that’s currently in store for us, to the glorious future we can have, we have to mend our connections. And since it is our connections that we need to fix, we can only do this together, through a mutual decision to change. The greater the number of people who understand the gravity of the problem of our negative connections, the more we will all want to change it. And the more we want to change our connections, the easier it will be to achieve.

Therefore, there are two stages in the healing process: 1. Awareness, 2. Healing. Currently, not enough people are aware of the singular cause of our multiple problems. This is why our main task at the moment is to spread the word that by transforming our connections from negative to positive, we will change the world and change our lives. Once enough people realize this, stage 2 will begin, and it will be much easier and quicker than stage 1.

“Is GDP An Accurate Gauge Of An Individual Citizen’s Happiness?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Is GDP an accurate gauge of an individual citizen’s happiness?

There are several examples of countries that have a high GDP and a low level of people’s happiness, which show quite clearly that GDP is not an accurate gauge for people’s happiness.

Why is it the case? It is because people are made to enter a framework where they feel constrained, unhappy, and forced to task like slaves, and accordingly, their happiness levels are low. They lie to themselves, thinking that they are happy, but have no idea what happiness is.

Happiness does not mean working most of the time. Rather, happiness is an inner state that is inseparable from our connection with society and nature—a state of harmonious connection between everybody and everything. Therefore, GDP is far from being an accurate indicator of happiness.

If we wish to increase our happiness, then we would be wise to revise the way we currently think we make ourselves happy, and start focusing on how we can discover true happiness through achieving harmonious connection with each other in society and with nature.
