“What Comes After Capitalism?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What comes after capitalism?

Humanity develops by means of the ego that grows in it. The human ego develops us such that we always think that something positive is in front of us. At least in the past, we always thought that something positive lay before us, and we ran to meet the future. Time after time, we develop like a baby who grows up to become a mature adult.

We thought that we were headed to a better culture, economy, and world, and if we felt off at the time, then we thought that our children would feel much better.

This is how our world unfolded according to the growing human ego, and it led us to our current times, when we no longer see ourselves headed to a better future.

Today, we have become disillusioned in our development, and find ourselves standing before a major dilemma: On one hand, if we continue developing by means of our ego, then Nazism will emerge globally as well as a Third World War.

Or we will implement altruism around the world.

The latter option is possible if we realize that altruism is the law of nature. In essence, altruism is nature itself. We will merit life and the forces of life, and we will be saved from destruction, on condition that we will observe this law. Similar to how observing the laws of physics, chemistry and biology brings us positive results, if we will observe the law of nature—altruism—in human society, like in a living body, then we will merit a positively-connected altruistic structure of society and achieve balance with nature, equality among human society, as well as happiness, confidence and safety.

If we fail to realize positive connections fueled with nature’s altruistic quality, then we can expect a very unfortunate future of suffering, with Nazism spreading throughout the world, and together with it, severe destruction.

Feel The Hidden Part Of Nature

514.04Question: Do you think that Kabbalah is better accepted when introducing some disciplines or just as an independent discipline?

Answer: Since a person in our world is an absolutely egoistic being, everything that he creates at any level—social, political, economic, etc., he studies only as an application of his egoistic self on the entire surrounding world, on all systems. Only in this way does he understand everything that is happening around him and within himself.

Initially, when we gather in a group, we try to create a new force in it, not egoistic but altruistic, positive, when the group becomes one common whole. Then we feel like one single whole, one common organism, and we feel nature in a completely different form.

In other words, we begin to feel the second part of nature that is hidden from us. It exists, but an ordinary person absolutely cannot feel it because everything that we feel, we perceive according to the law of equivalence of forms.

Which Pleasures Does The Wisdom Of Kabbalah Promise Us?

624.07Question: Which pleasures does the wisdom of Kabbalah promise us?

Answer: It is very hard to imagine the pleasures that the wisdom of Kabbalah gives us, because all the pleasures of our world are but one gram compared to the millions of tons of pleasures in the spiritual world.

After all, we are very limited. How much can we eat, drink, rest, and enjoy anything? Everything comes to an end, even our life, because it is built on the attribute of receiving for our own sake. The wisdom of Kabbalah, on the other hand, takes us out of this world and into a world of bestowal, a world of love, a world of infinite emotions that exist externally to us. This is the reason that we cannot even measure what the wisdom of Kabbalah gives us.

These are values that are totally incompatible with us. In the spiritual world you begin to see the reason for life, how it is arranged, what it leads to, what happened to you before you were born into this world and what will happen to you when you leave this world. Nothing is concealed. Everything happens during the same period of time that we exist.

Your eyes open and you are no longer blind like all the other people in this world who live like beasts and have nothing beyond their corporeal lives. You begin to feel a healthy, accurate attitude to life and to the world. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah gives us first and foremost.

Transition From The Wisdom Of Kabbalah To Primitive Philosophy

747.03Question: What is your opinion, as a Kabbalist, about the Hellenization of the Jews? How could one accept such a primitive Greek ideology of those times and leave a very advanced Jewish philosophy?

Answer: The fact is that we do not quite understand those times. Beginning with the tenth century B.C.,when the Jews came out of Egypt and crossed the desert into the land of Israel, they fell into disputes between their clans and families.

Moses stayed on the other side of the Jordan; he did not enter the land of Israel. As usually is the case when a leader dies or leaves his people, an upheaval began. Some followed the leaders who arose among the Jewish people, which believed it necessary to worship statues, make signs and amulets, build shrines, etc.

Many different trends arose in the nation. Naturally, nothing good came out of it. The people split into many groups. Ten of the twelve tribes left the land of Israel because they were not willing to participate in the disputes against each other. There were only two tribes left that kept feuding between themselves.

For ten centuries they have risen and fallen in their commitment to true Judaism. There were many different tribes living in the land of Israel, and each tribe had its own gods, its own statues, etc. Therefore, the Jews had enough blows to break away from worshiping the spirit and to transition to worshiping stones.
