The Ethiopian protests in Israel may have subsided, but have left behind yet another rift in society; more anger and hatred. Israel is not an easy place; it has a very complex society made up of many different ethnicities and mentalities.

It is important to understand that the form of violent protests, will not achieve anything. We must turn our efforts to another way; to integrate into society through hard work and education. We need to learn how to maintain good human relations.

With this in mind, I had a special meeting on Friday with my Ethiopian students. I learned more about their special culture, and identified with their pain. We went over all the issues, and set the wheels in motion for the healing to begin.
