Happy In This World And In The Next World

laitman_546_02“There will be happiness in this world” means that anyone who completes his release from the ego and acquires altruistic characteristics begins to live a life that is full of meaning, attaining wholeness, happiness, and everything good that is latent in the thought of creation.

A person even acquires the meaning of life in this world, and especially in the next world” (Introduction to the Study of Ten Sefirot).

The correct system is composed of two forces: the repulsive and the attractive. All of nature is based on these two forces, except for humans.

Therefore, we need to communicate between us, with ourselves, with others in the family, in a group, in a nation, and in the world, we must use a system that balances these two divine forces: the positive force and the negative force.

Herein lies the relevance of the wisdom of Kabbalah, and this is its uniqueness and strength: it gives us the opportunity to come to equilibrium in any system—in the family, in a team at work, in kindergarten, in school, in the framework of a single nation, and in the world.

Question: Must these two forces, reception and bestowal, be in balance in the connection between people in the sense that it is up to us to balance between how much I want to receive from you and how much I want to give to you?

Answer: Yes. We are not talking about annihilation of the ego, but only about the need to balance it correctly. It means that to the degree that you can use the positive force, you can also use the negative force.

On the one hand, there is the left line; on the other hand, there is the right line. The integration between them is in the middle, in the middle line.

The left line is the ego, the powerfully negative line. The right line is altruism (the characteristic of bestowal), the positive. The negative force draws everything to it, while the positive power bestows everything.
The middle line is specifically composed of the correct, balanced, mutual cooperation between them, like any technical system.

HappyInThisWorldAndInTheNextWorld

Everything must be in balance, but this balance and proper interaction doesn’t exist in human society.
The right line is missing in us and we must draw it to us with the help of the Ohr Makif (Surrounding Light).

Our main task is to draw the Ohr Makif. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah deals with.

Don’t Wait For The Stick To Come To Happiness

Laitman_002Question: Are people today more inclined to kind of events that bring people together and promote advancing toward resembling the Creator? Or can we expect the Creator may send us the option to reach Him through the “stick” toward happiness?

Answer: Humanity is in a precarious state. People understand that the future doesn’t hold anything good. Moreover, these problems are increasing in ecology, climate changes, etc, things that we suddenly cannot impact. In other words, we feel helpless in the face of the problems that we encounter. What can we do if instead of high temperatures in the 100’s, temperatures exceed 140 degrees?

Air conditioners will not help. Everything will fail.

We are gradually beginning to feel powerless before nature. In the past we believed that we would surely conquer it, but today we see the opposite is true.  We, in fact it, are its hostages. The question is: What we can do and can we influence it?

It turns out that we can, but only in a positive way. Not by doing whatever we want to, but only by behaving properly. By closing ourselves into integrated, correct, good relationships with each other, we become the highest part of nature, and from this level can influence it. But only on condition that we will behave properly.

This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us. The right thoughts and the right actions between people affect nature. Those who don’t want to understand that don’t have to, but then they will advance toward happiness by the stick.

Nature has a very simple way of affecting man through disasters, then a person immediately feels small, helpless and trembles with fear. And we all have the chance to feel that when nature forces us to start changing ourselves to bring us into balance.

Question: Can we explain to a person on the corporeal level that his positive thoughts can stop a storm, an epidemic, or a terrible heat wave?

Answer: Thought is the most powerful force in our world!

There is nothing we can do about it. We have already mentioned how scientists today are becoming increasingly more internal, penetrating the finest levels of nature.

We once reported the number of tons of steel or iron produced or that we placed a certain number of tanks on the borders. No one needs that now. The world has changed and has become more virtual. Wars are conducted by other means.  Life must also be different.

Our thoughts are the most serious force, and many governments already realize that. They have built whole systems to engage in that.

But we are talking about how humanity should correct the world. And this is possible only through the method of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Who Created Religion?

Laitman_417Question From Facebook: Buddha did not create religion; Jesus did not create religion. If that is true, who created it and for what purpose?

Answer: Three religions exist in the world: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Buddhism and all of the rest of the Eastern doctrines are not religions, but currents and methods. They exist without any pretense about anything and without imposing anything on others.

Religions were created as egoistic copies of the wisdom of Kabbalah and come to us instead of the Kabbalistic principle: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18). The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches only how to achieve love of others. It is called the inner true Judaism.

When they began to carry out the principle “Love your neighbor as yourself” between a small number of people, they discovered that, as soon as they applied it, they came across difficult problems that tore the people to pieces.

The principle “Love your neighbor as yourself” arouses intense egoistic desires and drives within a person. These are described as the “Wars of the Jews” according to history. Beginning from the tenth century BCE, for a thousand years, terrible things happened among the Jewish people. There was constant, internal civil war.

Even though people struggled to hold onto the level of “Love your neighbor as yourself,” they discovered that they could not. Therefore, the Kabbalists who managed the nation during the period of King David, King Solomon, and the rest of the kings gradually began to loosen up the higher level so as not to approach people with demands that were too high to implement this general rule.

People could not tolerate this general rule, for according to the thought of creation, the law of nature, it was necessary to reduce a person to the lowest egoistic level. So, immediately after they attained the highest level of altruism called the “First Temple,” they began to fall from this level. According to the program of creation, this was necessary.

The people had to maintain this level, but people did not succeed. The sages of the Sanhedrin that stood as their head understood that they would not succeed in holding the people to a level like this, for the people were not prepared to survive physically or spiritually.

So everything gradually deteriorated to a level where the people began to carry out ordinary physical actions instead of spiritual laws. For example, to show love, they would express this with a material gift. If they wanted to create a partnership, it was created externally, not internally. Instead of correcting oneself, a person began to immerse in a Mikveh (ritual bath), etc.

In this way people moved from the inner implementation of the law “Love your neighbor as yourself,” meaning rising above the ego, to the performance of external actions called Mitzvot (commandments).

Beginning from this period until our day, religious tradition became a copy of the spiritual actions that a person performs in his heart. The books of Kabbalah say that one must write a Torah on the walls of one’s heart. It is specifically this which is required of a person.

For this reason, the wisdom of Kabbalah is called the interior of the Torah, while religion, which teaches and maintains the Mitzvot until today, is called the exterior of the Torah and doesn’t require a person to yearn for love of others, but only to study and perform physical actions mechanically.

In our day, the period of the implementation of the external part only has finished. According to the law of nature, we must begin to ascend to the next level, meaning from the external implementation of the Mitzvot of the Torah to the interior implementation. The stipulation of “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” must remain our principle, our idea, until we discover that there is an inner meaning to all of our actions.

Question: In the past, people could not hold onto this level. Can they do so today?

Answer: Today, we no longer have a choice. We have done the preparatory work for beginning to apply this principle gradually by connecting in small groups, in groups of ten. That is how Moses united the people after they left Egypt.

We try to apply the law of “Love your neighbor as yourself” in our groups and try to show and teach it to all of humanity.

America – It’s Not Just Hollywood

Laitman_414In the News (The Hollywood Reporter): “Members of Hollywood took to social media on Saturday and Sunday to speak out in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order banning refugees from entering the U.S. The order, signed by Trump on Friday, suspends refugees from entering the country for four months and indefinitely suspends Syrian refugees. …

“A second day of protests were seen by Sunday afternoon.”

Question: Does it seem that the population and the communications media have not accepted the call of the president for unity and they want to split the nation, at least on the question of the attitude toward Muslim immigrants?

Answer: The old leaders simply wish to remain in power to continue to do whatever they want. But Donald Trump represents the second more serious, industrial and financial half of the United States who disagree with the continuation of neoliberalism.

Thanks to neoliberal policies, the United States has lost all of its achievements, all of its industry, and is gradually waning. There are people who understand that it is impossible to continue this way.

The United States is not just Hollywood but industrial zone workers; these are the people who founded this nation. So the time has come for a new president. He was chosen in a democratic election that was recognized by everyone.

Why then are there protests against him? If his policies don’t correspond to someone’s opinion, why is it necessary to demonstrate and protest? After all, the president is acting within the framework of the law.

The demonstrators who are protesting claim that they are protecting the rights of Muslims. But they are simply against Trump who symbolizes a new political administration.

The previous policies were irresponsible and led to absolute arbitrariness in the media, massive unemployment, the Obamacare health program that doesn’t work, and problems with all of the changes that have been made in the last thirty years.

Large, serious United States forces and economists stand behind Donald Trump, not students and teenagers going out to protests in the streets. I do not believe that the protests stem from a desire to protect Muslims. They are simply going out against Trump. This is the reaction that will exist for each one of his decrees and decisions until he is deposed.

After all, the so-called “liberals” and “democrats” apparently don’t agree with the fact that someone doesn’t think like them. They don’t understand that this is a democracy and they should now relax and let the president govern. It has been customary to draw conclusions about the conduct of a new president only after the first hundred days to make it possible for him to implement his programs.

All of these demonstrations have been intentionally stirred up by the media who feel that their time has passed. The time of neoliberalism has indeed passed. It will disappear from the stage in any case. This is the trend in the development of human society. So we should stop now, we haven’t reached a world war.

New Life #406 – Heaven And Hell

New Life #406 – Heaven And Hell
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Summary

What are heaven and hell according to the wisdom of Kabbalah? What does a person have to undergo during his lifetime and how can we reach bestowal unto others and feel as if we are in Heaven? Where are heaven and hell?

A person does not choose the genes he is born with and he doesn’t choose the way he is educated, so how can he be judged?

After the body dies there is neither heaven nor hell. It is about states that a person has to undergo during his lifetime. A person who is inclined to the truth relates to bestowal unto others as heaven and to what he does for his own sake as hell.

An ideal society is a society in which everyone treats others with love and bestowal. This is living in heaven.

What Is The Difference Between The Bible And The Torah?

laitman_032_06Question: What is the difference between the Bible, the Torah, and the Pentateuch ?

Answer: The Torah was written 3,100 years ago during the journey of the children of Israel from Egypt through the wilderness to the land of Israel. The journey of the Jews in the wilderness lasted forty years. The sacred Torah is the only copy and cannot be changed; it is the main book of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The Bible (from the Greek word “Biblia” meaning book, scroll, paper), and other books in a similar spirit with different names, were created on the basis of the Torah and moved through a system of correction that is useful only for particular people.

That is also what happened among the Jews in the ancient land of Israel 2,500 years ago, as well as after the destruction of Israel 2,000 years ago.

As a result, a free translation of certain passages, some additional characters were introduced in part to the Torah, and changed, canceled, and revised its laws and requirements. In general, it became the Bible and from there to a free reading.

To date, all of the historical and archaeological evidence, like the discoveries from the Qumran caves, confirms the true and original text of the Bible.

It is very important to maintain the authenticity of the true book which has become the fundamental book of humanity, establishing its social and family laws, rules, and education.

When Kabbalists read the Torah, they understand why every symbol, every letter, and every word was written, why they are expressed in this manner, and why they follow one after another in its specific form because the Torah is a code and not merely a sequence of letters.

Just as the language of a computer program is recorded using particular symbols, the Torah was also written using symbols. It is forbidden to change anything in it because otherwise everything will be lost; the entire process would be conducted differently.

In a clear and precise manner, the text in the Torah conveys the descent of the Upper Light onto the desire that was created by the Light and the sequence through which the Light brings the desire to resemble and become identical with it. The book speaks only about this.

Resolution No. 2334 – Reasons And Implications

Laitman_175In the News (The Jerusalem Post): “Resolution 2334, approved 14-nil by the UN Security Council on December 23, 2016 with only the United States abstaining, has generated a tsunami of media comment.  …

“The truly unique aspect of resolution 2334 is that it seeks to modify Security Council Resolution 242, the accepted and agreed basis for the Arab-Israel peace process.  …

“Emphasizing the need to establish ‘a just and lasting peace in the Middle East,’ it maintained that Israeli armed forces should withdraw ‘from territories occupied in the recent conflict’ and that there should be an ‘acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area, and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force.’…

“These areas, now referred to in resolution 2334 as ‘Palestinian territories,’ were governed by Jordan and Egypt respectively for 19 years – from 1948 until 1967 – without any attempt by either Arab state to establish a sovereign Palestine.  Then, as now, recognizing a sovereign Palestine in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza meant recognizing a sovereign Israel outside those areas – something the Arab world was not prepared to do at the time.”

Question: Fourteen states voted for the resolution and one state abstained. It seems that the whole world is against Israel. Is that really so?

Answer: The whole world has always been against Israel, ever since the days of Abraham. Once the Jews left ancient Babylon and the split between the nation of Israel and the whole world occurred, the hatred of Israel emerged.

Resolution No. 2334 is an example that the whole world is against us. No one supported us; all the nations of the world united against Israel and unanimously accepted the resolution. If all the nations of the world, billions of people, censure us, claiming that we don’t behave properly and in a desirable manner, we should look deeply into this matter since perhaps something is indeed wrong.

Imagine what would happen if the UN proposed to vote for or against the establishment of the State of Israel today, just like it did 67 years ago. If they had to vote on Israel’s right to exist today, the outcome would probably be negative.

The UN would probably vote on totally detaching all ties with Israel and we would not be able to do anything about it. How could we exist after such a resolution? It is impossible to exist alone in the modern world. Such isolation would ruin the state even without war. We have to take such an option into account and find out the reason for the general hatred the world feels toward Israel.

The great minds of humanity looked for the reason for the hatred that has been felt toward the Jews for ages, but only the wisdom of Kabbalah provides the reason and the solution. We have to unite and it is our duty to pass on the method of unity to the whole world. The world desperately needs it and is waiting for us to do so. As long as we don’t do it, the world will unite in its hatred around us more and more and will not accept our existence.

Let’s hope that in 2017 we will acknowledge our duty to the world and fulfill it! Then the whole world will calm down, as it is written in the prophets, it will reach the wonderful corrected state.
