The Combination of Masculine and Feminine Principles

Rabash, Dargot HaSulam, Item 274, “Specifically through a Man and a Woman”: A newborn is born specifically through a man and a woman. From a male alone or from a female alone, there cannot be offspring. In ethics, the male is considered “the power of bestowal,” and the female is “the power of reception.” Offspring are good deeds, in which there is the breath of life.

The masculine principle is an intention for the sake of bestowal and the feminine principle is the desire to receive. If they are interconnected, then their correct combination occurs. And it turns out that when the desire to receive and above it the intention to bestow interact, they can reveal the Creator within themselves, i.e., produce the best, highest action that is subject to creation in our world.

No man and no woman can do this separately. Only in the right combination of the male giving and the female receiving properties can they realize receiving for the sake of bestowal, that is, make themselves like the Creator. Otherwise, none of them is perfect.

Question: What is the rule of the correct combination of female and male principles?

Answer: If we are talking about Kabbalah, then according to this teaching, male and female principles are in each of us. A person must work so that his or her desire to receive is completely under the intention of giving (for the sake of bestowal). And then you get the right interaction.

We must understand that we are not talking about a woman and a man but about the correct interaction of these principles in a person.

And on the other hand, if we are talking about the family, about the right relationship between a man and a woman, then we are talking about their clear understanding of their properties when the properties of a woman and the properties of a man are combined in such a way that they really give spiritual fruit. Each time they give birth to the next state, and this is called the birth of their child.

For the Sake of Correcting the Feminine

In one of the articles, Rabash writes: “Who is an acceptable wife? She who fulfills her husband’s desires.”

“It is known that a person is called a woman, Nukva, when he receives light from the master. The Creator bestows pleasure to His creatures. When is a person called a pleasing wife? When he fulfills desires. that is, when for everything he enjoys, he creates an intention to fulfill the master’s desire without any desire for the sake of self.”

If an ordinary person reads this passage, he might mistake Kabbalists for medieval slave owners. But when studying Kabbalah, we begin to understand that this refers to our desire, which is called “woman.” In Kabbalah, the desire to receive is called the female desire, and the desire to give is called the male desire.

This has nothing to do with gender or gender definitions in our world. Therefore, we, by no means mean women or men, we simply want to say that the female spiritual roots are not only different from the male, but also more important. After all, everything that is being done in the world for the sake of correction is done in the name of correcting the feminine.

Question: What were Adam and Eve like? Should the relationship between a man and a woman be similar to their relationship?

Answer: Adam and Eve were not people but two communication systems of egoistic desires to receive and desires to bestow. The Torah tells us exactly that. We must come to a state where both systems are fully integrated and one person is created from them.

Basically, Adam is alone. After all, the Torah also says that in the beginning there was only Adam and then God created a woman from his rib. All this needs a long explanation, but in short, the system must come to the point where we connect together and again turn into one single system called Adam. This is not some kind of a biological image and not a person of our world.

We humans descended from monkeys. There are no questions at all regarding this. These species of monkeys gradually developed until increasing egoistic desires appeared in them, which turned them into people.

That is, monkeys are much better than us. In us, in uncorrected people, egoism is much greater. But don’t worry about it, correct it.

In this difficult time of the coronavirus pandemic, women can perform much greater work than men because they have more connection with life, stronger sense of life in relation to their family and children.

After this epidemic, people will not be the same. It will take several months and everyone will get used to this new state. We will begin to perceive the world in a new way; we will feel that it is under the control of the upper force.

Everyone now has the same questions: Where did this problem come from? Why? What will happen next? Suddenly we lost our strength to pursue the different pleasures of this world, the main thing is to survive and for us and our children to live peacefully in this world.

This is a very important stage in the education of humanity. The virus will educate us so that we will not be the same people again. Imagine that in four, five, or six months we will see the epidemic subside and the coronavirus stop circulating between us, then we will already be different.

In the meantime, we just need to support each other and keep explaining that this blow came from nature because we breach its laws and violate its integrality and globality.

We destroy nature and, as a result, involuntarily we pull all these viruses out of it and force them to manifest. If we continue to treat nature this way, there will be many more new viruses, much more terrible than the coronavirus. Therefore, there is no choice, we must change the relationships between us and our attitude to nature, and then everything will fall into place.

First of all, we must understand that the coronavirus is a consequence of the imbalance in nature made by humans. This imbalance stems from the lack of friendly connections between people.

We must exist in an integral system, but instead we do the opposite and are moving further and further away from each other. Egoism is growing all the time and increasingly placing us against each other. If we do not stop the process of global separation, we will cause even more harmful viruses to appear.

Everyone agrees that there is a need for connection between people, but they do not believe that it is possible to achieve and consider it a beautiful dream. However, the fact is that we are not required to achieve connection, we just have to want to come to it.

By yearning for connection, we are already investing our effort in nature, and as a result nature gets corrected and improves. Then all sorts of pests, including viruses, will stop crawling out of it.

We see that the role of women is growing in the modern world: women are becoming stronger and gaining more and more influence. They are more in control of their desires and more goal-oriented.

The weakness of women is in the fact that they need male support to realize their goals. But as soon as women receive such support, they are able to complete an execution that men are incapable of.

I hope that in the future women will have a greater access to world leadership in the correct and natural cooperation with men. The world will then cease to be as primitive and corrupted as it was when led by men while women were staying at home taking care of children and households. We see that what is happening now is the opposite: the further the world moves toward the end of correction, the more power women gain.

Every man is afraid of his wife. It is because a woman takes care of the house, she rules it. It is a characteristic feature of our time. Rabash joked, saying about someone: “This is a righteous man; he is not afraid of anyone except the Creator and his wife.” And there is truth in it indeed.

Now in many cities women have been elected mayor. Why not? If a woman can control a house, then she can well control a city. A man is more distracted and not very suitable for this role. A man is stronger, but a woman is more reasonable and able to support different systems at the same time.

Just as she copes at home with all her responsibilities at the same time: laundry, meals, children, and a thousand different things on top of it; and everything is in order. Try to remove a woman from the house so that a man runs the whole house alone, and within a week the apartment will turn into a garbage dump.

So it is written: “A woman is a house.” But is not a country and the world our home? A woman lacks only male support, and everything will be settled. I am sure that if women were at the head of all governments, they would establish peace in the world. No matter how difficult it would be for women to agree with each other, they would come to an agreement, because a woman is ready to agree and incline herself for the sake of achieving peace.

Men and women should feel like equal partners, each one reasonably perceiving their role and knowing that if, by virtue of the qualities given to us by nature, we replenish each other to one complete perfection, then this will be a correction.

It is written in the book “Sefat Emet,” in the portion Pinchas “About Adam it is written that two creations were created, that is, it is in man’s power to attract the glow from the future world. Male power draws the soul from the upper world, and female power completes the action of correction in this world.” A woman is a vessel receiving the illumination, and the strength of a man is in order to attract this glow from above for the sake of bestowal, that is, by means of intention.

The Main Commandment and Its Derivatives

Comment: Baal HaSulam writes, that at first the Torah was given on a condition of mutual guarantee (Arvut), although later, when the golden calf was made, this condition was no longer observed because wars were fought about this issue, and the sons of Levi killed 3,00 people.

All this, of course, did not add love and unity. Later, when they came to the land of Israel, there was no peace either. Therefore, there was no one who could observe this main commandment. Literally several decades passed after the giving of the Torah, and there was no one left to observe this condition.

My Response: I think it took longer. In any case, the entire period was accompanied by huge conflicts among the people. There were many different currents, opposing groups, that were ready to destroy each other.

Comment: Further, Baal HaSulam writes, that in order for the people of Israel not to forget the Torah they began to observe the other commandments, although the main commandment was abandoned because they had no other advice.

The main commandment of the Torah “love your neighbor as yourself” was abandoned because egoism grew and people began to observe other commandments. What does it mean “other commandments”?

My Response: “Other commandments” are the reflection in our world of the main spiritual commandment and spiritual connections between people. There are 613 desires in a person, the so-called TARYAG, and all of them must be directed to the connection with others and with the Creator.

However, in our world, they are used to fulfill our egoism. Changing them to “love your neighbor,” to the fulfillment of others, of society, is called observing the commandments.

Question: So, are 613 commandments the internal actions as a result of which a person corrects his egoism in order to connect with other people in sensation, that is, through the souls?

Answer: Yes. In any case, the general rule of “love your neighbor” is broken down into many inclinations, desires, and actions. And all of them together make this rule.
