Question: The Jewish people are called the people of the book. What does it mean?

Answer: The people of the book, that is, the Jewish people, are a group of people, who joined the forefather Abraham, who consists of representatives of all seventy nations that lived in ancient Babylon at that time.

Over time, this group was able to unite according to the law of mutual guarantee and to became a nation, as it is written about the giving of the Torah, “Today you have become My people.”

Since the Jews received all the spiritual heritage through the book of Torah that was written by Moses, they are called the people of the book. This is the same group that was wandering in the desert for forty years. During this time Moses wrote the Torah thanks to the fact that they all worked with each other in unity and love for their neighbor, and thus reached the upper world.

The book of Torah is the program of creation describing the process that we need to undergo so that a person develops to the degree of the Creator and reveals the upper force in the unlimited form, which is called adhesion with it. All this we need to implement here, while living in this world.

Question: Why did the Kabbalists write books, as if the Torah of Moses is not enough?

Answer: The rest of the Kabbalists after Moses added their commentaries to the Torah because each soul has its own special perception. Besides, every succeeding generation after the generation of the desert became increasingly worse; its egoism was increasingly revealed and developed, and therefore they could add revelations. After all, the larger the egoism, the more you can delve into the upper world.

Torah, Deuteronomy 27:14 – 27:15: The Levites shall speak up, saying to every individual of Israel, in a loud voice: “Cursed be the man who makes any graven or molten image an abomination to the Lord, the handiwork of a craftsman and sets it up in secret! And all the people shall respond, saying, ‘Amen!'”

In our world you should not make any external actions; they must all be internal.

There is no need to create any statues or images for yourself—anything you can grasp with your egoistic desires and intentions, but only what you can imagine above egoism, above earthly thoughts and feelings. When you connect with others through love of them, you begin to form the state in which the Creator can dress. It is called creating a house of the Creator.

We live in the world of idols and constantly, every second, create all new ones. This is the state that existed before the spiritual discoveries of Abraham.

Where did Kabbalah begin? It started from the fact that all the idols were shattered and everything moves only into the internal quality of a person, into his internal correction. Exactly on this, the method of correction of a person and his elevation to the level of the Creator was founded, and this was the only difference between Abraham and Nimrod, between Kabbalah and all other teachings.

If a person worships some statues before some of his actions, then all this is called egoistic, not holy work.

Question: How is it possible to attribute a craft to this? It is written, “The handiwork of a craftsman.”

Answer: This is the handiwork of a craftsman. The name of the architect who built the Tabernacle is Betzalel (Be-tzal-el) and it means “in the shadow of the Creator.” What does it mean that he works in the shadow of the Creator? It means only using a screen. The upper Light creates everything.

Comment: But in the Torah it is written, “An abomination to the Lord, the handiwork of a craftsman.”

Response: That’s right. All that is required from us is just a screen (Masach). Don’t interfere with the Creator; remove your egoism so everything will be created exactly in the place where you removed it. You annul egoism with His help, but when this happens, you begin to feel how something completely opposite begins to form within you from Him. This is the handiwork of a craftsman. The Creator is called a craftsman.

Torah, Deuteronomy 28:09: The Lord will establish you as His holy people as He swore to you, if you observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and walk in His ways.

The quality of bestowal and love is called holiness because holiness is an accessory to the Creator.

The Creator is Kadosh (The Holy One) because there is a quality of bestowal in Him. Therefore, a person is called holy when he receives a special influence from the Creator that makes him giving and loving, and this affects everyone around him.

If you aspire to this, you will receive such an answer from the Creator and you will become holy, that is, a blessed one, giving and loving all others.

Torah, Deuteronomy 28:08: The Lord will order the blessing to be with you in your granaries, and in every one of your endeavors, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord, your God, is giving you.

You will be blessed in all spiritual endeavours when you want to connect with others in order to rise higher and higher to the level of the Creator. The illumination of the upper Light will begin correcting you completely, and thus you will advance to the new degrees in revelation of the Creator in adhesion with Him.

This happens absolutely for real in our world. It is not that you purely conceptually understand what is written in the book, like any person who opens it and begins to philosophize, but you reveal the Creator with your new qualities in proportion to your similarity to Him. Thus, the upper world becomes for you the world where you begin to exist.
This is called “your granary” and “your endeavor.”

Torah, Deuteronomy, 28:30: You will build a house, but you will not live in it.

A person builds a house in order to reveal the Creator within it. House (Kli, vessel) is the soul.

What is being referred to here is that you will not be able to use any Kli that you have built because you will not have the possibility to make a Zivug de Hakaa on it, a right kind of connection. Others will live in this house.

It is impossible to use a Kli, a house, with an intention that is not justified, while others will partially be able to use it in their own way. They will ultimately bring you to correction, to you being able to return to your house, but only after going through a very lengthy and painful journey.

Spiritual work begins from the fact that you bind yourself to accept the laws of your own correction.

Like on the way out of Egypt, the sons of Israel had to understand that the most important thing is the rise above egoism, the passage of the Red Sea, the acceptance of the main principle “love your neighbor as yourself” as the ultimate goal, and aspiration to it with the help of mutual commitment, when all connect into one single whole.

They were obliged to accept this direction according to their efforts to connect together above egoism and to move forward. Accordingly, they received help from above, the upper Light of correction called Torah.

It was like entering the desert when you really are going into the desert because there are no correct states, desires, or intentions before you. You turn them into the correct source; you correct your egoistic qualities to altruistic ones, hatred into love.

Therefore, the mountain you stand before is called, Mount Sinai (from the word “Sina” – hatred), which you gradually turn into love after 40 years of traveling through the desert, meaning 40 degrees from Malchut to Bina, from the quality of complete reception to the quality of bestowal. You enter the state when you as if climb the same Mount Sinai, but already as the entire nation.

Then you can win the land of Israel, conquer it, which means to correct it, and after this erect a Temple on it, that is, create a common soul for everyone. In our world, the Temple represents creation of a single soul.

This is what is commanded to a person who ascends to the next spiritual level. At that, this is not about geographical conquests but exactly the internal state of a person when he rises to the degree called the land of Israel.

He receives the instruction for further corrections while being in the state Mount Sinai.

The next stage is the correction itself that is called forty years of wandering in the desert. During this stage, he feels various egoistic desires in himself, and by correcting them from the intention for myself to the intention for the sake of others, that is, through others to the Creator, and reaches an ascent to the next degree.

There he begins to work directly with his egoistic desires without rising above them but using them for bestowal. This state is called the work in the land of Israel.

Torah, Deuteronomy, 28:36: The Lord will lead you and your king whom you will have established over you, to a nation unknown to you or your fathers; and there, you will serve other deities [made] of wood and stone.

The Creator will lead you to a state toward which your egoism aspires, because you do not deserve anything else. And you will worship “other deities of wood and stone,” meaning that which has no connection to the truth.

Today we worship the radio, television, Internet, and all sorts of pseudo-spiritual practices. We engage in educational methods that are useless in principle, and sciences that research only our world, giving us greater penetration into matter (egoism).

We are happy that we can turn matter into anything we want. But for what? Does this give us anything? We have to develop inside of us rather than outside. Yet we have gone the opposite way. For tens of thousands of years, we have been preoccupied with controlling the still, vegetative, and animate degrees of nature, and we exist only for the sake of this.

However, the time now is special. Now we finally have an opportunity to become aware of the dead-end of our development because evolution is bringing humanity to the realization that there is nowhere to keep going.

So what lies ahead for us? Unemployment and emptiness, because robots will replace us in all the jobs. Robots will replace drivers, doctors and employees in the service industry. And what will we do? Perhaps we will tune out and be half-asleep by means of drugs or will freeze ourselves and wait thousands of years for someone to unfreeze us? This is what the world is moving toward.

Indeed, what else can we do with our egoistic desire? Having achieved the maximum, it is practically forcing us to go into all sorts of illusions.

In the meantime, people are incessantly watching TV shows and writing to each other on Facebook and other social networks. But, in principle, we are approaching a state where it will be better to take a pill and fall asleep. Or connect an electrode to our ears that will constantly play movies in front of us while we are half asleep.

That same electrode will allow us to feel all sorts of tastes, smells, and sensations. You will feel that someone is hugging you, that you are having sex or eating some exquisite dishes, and so on.

Comment: Sometimes people even long for this state, in order to tune out from it all…

Answer: Of course they do! This is egoistically justified.

If humanity were able to do this, then of course it would. But the fact of the matter is that there is a program of creation that is above us, and it won’t allow us to dive into this pink fog.

Question: So man won’t fall asleep?

Answer: It is possible, but only for the sake of the realization of evil. We will have to become aware of this possibility as well, along with the evil inherent in it. It is possible that one generation will fall through the cracks, but that doesn’t matter. In our world the bodies are born and die, but the souls are always circulating. Therefore, we will get through all of this.

Torah, Deuteronomy 28:25: The Lord will cause you to be broken before your enemy: you will come out against them in one direction, but you will flee from them in seven directions. And you will become a terrifying [example] to all the kingdoms on earth.

If you identify your desires as enemies and are not able to defeat them, you will escape from them in seven ways.

“You will come out against them in one direction…,” like Malchut, which reflects the Light that comes to it in one way. “You will flee from them in seven directions,” as Malchut exits from this place through ZAT: Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut. That is, if you cannot overcome your enemies, then you must run away from them by means of all your properties, and in total there are seven in a person. Conversely, if you start to overcome this place, you will be blessed seven times because you will cover everything with one common property. This already relates to GAR—the head part of your soul.

Torah, Deuteronomy 27:25: Cursed be he who takes a bribe to put an innocent person to death. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

From time immemorial bribes were condemned. People were always punished for them. However, punishment by a curse is a very serious punishment.

By spilling the blood of an innocent, the “desire” in myself, I kill the “person” in me, that is, the next corrected state that could appear in me as a “person,” as part of a corrected soul. If I don’t do it, I take a bribe, meaning that I took a pleasure for myself instead of correcting part of my soul. This is the curse.

I went after the fleeting delight that attracted me instead of moving toward the next spiritual degree.

Question: Is it called that I spilled the blood of an innocent?

Answer: Yes. However, this is not just “spilling blood.” What you have done is one thing, but the fact that you also receive a curse in addition to it is something different. Now you are obliged to redeem yourself twice in order to be somehow corrected in the future, because you fall to a great depth.

Torah, Deuteronomy 28:22: The Lord will strike you with consumption, fever, illnesses with burning fevers, a disease which causes unquenchable thirst, with the sword, with blast, and with yellowing, and they will pursue you until you perish

It is written in the Torah: “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. You shall choose life, so that you and your offspring will live;” (Deuteronomy, 30:19) This has only one meaning: you can either select one line or the other.

Question: What does it mean, “The Lord will strike you with consumption, fever, illnesses with burning fevers…,” and so on?

Answer: The problems will be at all the levels of the soul: human, animate, vegetative, and inanimate. This really is so because every disparity to the Creator, no matter if it is small or large, includes all four levels. The blow passes through all of them from the top to the bottom. You cannot feel the problem in one thing only because everything is affected.

This also happens in life. Perhaps a person doesn’t particularly feel it, but in fact, the blow passes through all the levels.
