“You Will Be Only Oppressed And Robbed All The Days”

laitman_293Torah, Deuteronomy 28:29: You will grope at midday, as the blind man gropes in the dark, and you will be unsuccessful in your ways. You will be only oppressed and robbed all the days, and no one will save [you].

Everything that you could keep in your intention of bestowal and love, in what is called a Kli—the vessel in which you can retain the upper Light, upper attainments, sensations—will disappear. You are left with nothing—robbed, poor, sick, absolutely stricken in everything.

If you do not unite with others into one single whole in which you can correctly reveal all the greatness, the importance of spiritual wealth, then you get into the state of “death,” “darkness.”

“Moves Back His Neighbor’s Landmark”

laitman_571_08Torah, Deuteronomy 27:17: Cursed be he who moves back his neighbor’s landmark. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

“Moves back his neighbor’s landmark” means to steal from the other person what was allotted to him from above and to use this to work on himself. By this, you steal from him a chance to correct his soul; you somehow obscure this possibility, do not give enough, do not direct him properly and do not participate together with him in his own action of correction.

Such a state is called a curse. It is as if a person strikes his own soul with a terrible ulcer. That is, all those desires and aspirations that he must create in himself to become like the Creator, he partially transforms into qualities that are opposite to the Creator for the sake of petty egoistic gain, and he cannot do anything with himself.

Usually, this is a consequence of his wrong connection with the environment. After all, only in the environment can he find the force that will help him to resist all the temptations supplied to him by the Creator.

He, on the contrary, cuts off an opportunity for mutual connection with others instead of helping them to not cut off “spikelets from the edge of the field.”

There are many different conditions in which a person—by supposedly doing good for another—actually does him bad.
We see that most of the Torah laws seem in our world to be not quite fair, to put it mildly. And this is really so.

For example, many people oppose the fattening and the slaughtering of livestock that we do in order to provide us with meat, food, furs, and various products from animal skin. They believe that humans should not do this. We gained power over animals, in the form of reason, not in order to use them this way.

However, the Torah speaks about totally different things: It says that, precisely by developing animals, raising them, caring for them, fattening them, killing them properly, and then cutting and using them, we elevate their purpose to be for the sake of the development of man. This is the same thing that each of us should do to the animal that lives within us: develop it correctly, grow it, and kill it within yourself in order to be able to feed man.

You should act this way with animals outside of you as well as with your own animal that is within you.

Question: It is said that everything is created for a person. Does this mean that a man is like a “crown of nature”?

Answer: Yes, if he behaves correctly, he can use this to grow a man or Adam (meaning similar to the Creator) from himself. If he cannot do this, he is even worse than an animal. If people had studied the laws of nature correctly, they would have seen that kosher cattle slaughter is the most correct way. We just need to look at this objectively.

“Set Up These Stones…And Plaster Them With Lime”

laitman_740_02Torah, Deuteronomy 27:04: And it will be, when you cross the Jordan, that you shall set up these stones, [regarding] which I command you this day on Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with lime.

We move from mountain to mountain all the time. The word “mountain” is translated as Har in Hebrew, which stems from the word “Hirhurim,” which means doubts or problems. The mountains towering before us represent bursts of egoism. and without climbing them it is impossible to conquer our egoism.

What does it mean to conquer the land of Israel? “Land” (Eretz) comes from the word “Ratzon” (Desire). You take your desire and begin to change it from an egoistic nature to an altruistic one, which means you work with it for the sake of bestowal and you receive an opportunity to enter the land of Israel.

Our egoistic desire is divided into twelve parts; therefore, the Torah speaks about twelve stones, twelve tribes, and so on.

It is written, “you shall set up these stones, [regarding] which I command you this day on Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with lime.” This means purifying the stones; turning them into whiteness is the quality of bestowal. Exactly upon the common quality of bestowal, it is already possible to carve the letters of the Torah.

“The Lord Will Turn The Rain Of Your Land Into Powder And Dust”

laitman_747_01.jpgTorah, Deuteronomy 28:24: The Lord will turn the rain of your land into powder and dust, raining down upon you from the heavens until you are destroyed.

Despite the fact that physically you can seemingly do everything in this world, if you don’t achieve success in the spiritual world, you will not be blessed here or there.

We still exist in this world out of mercy; we are given a “prepayment.” But in fact, it is not given for a long time.

Question: Do you think that the ” hour X” is approaching?

Answer: Undoubtedly. And it is in our time. 2016 was the last year of the “bustling” state of life and further on, it will be much harder.

Comment: Indeed, wherever you look—America, Europe, Arab countries—there is a powerful collapse everywhere.

Answer: All of them are still playing their games, but they should start learning something from life. Therefore, the dead end is approaching.

Question: What does it mean that the rain will become powder and dust?

Answer: Rain, which is meant to give birth, will not give you anything. It will be shed in other places. That is, you will not receive a blessing for your actions, and they will “dry up” if you do not unite and strive for likeness to the Creator. Nothing else is said here. A man is called Adam because he must be “like” (in Hebrew “Domeh“) the Creator.

Do Not Damage The “Person” In You

Laitman_507_03Torah, Deuteronomy 27:24: Cursed be he who strikes his fellow in secret. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

“In secret” means in court. This is about egoistically destroying an opportunity for your next action of correction. If I take a desire and instead of correcting it I pull it away from my action, then I kill it within myself, which means “to strike my fellow in secret.” I curse myself by this.

The damage of the soul by a person or the damaging of “a person” within oneself is called a curse.

Question: In other words, must I take care of my neighbor, as if to educate him?

Answer: Of course, this is your desire. The Torah does not speak about anything other than the desires that are within each of us. It tells us how to correct them and how to become similar to the Creator.

Therefore, all the things the Torah speaks about such as sheep, goats, cows, plants, and even more so, people—in all their external manifestations—imply different desires within a person. The Torah indicates clearly what you can and cannot do. Therefore, it tells you what you don’t touch, what is not yours, and what the system itself will correct for you.

Question: Can we say that if I do not aspire to fulfill the law “love your neighbor as yourself,” then it is as if I kill my neighbor?

Answer: Of course because your “mother-in-law,” your “wife,” your “mother,” and your “father,” no matter who and what they are, are all within you. If you correct them incorrectly, you kill them.

Question: Does it mean that humanity is now in a state of “killing its neighbor”?

Of course, and especially within oneself; we kill our soul within ourselves.

Combining Evil With Goodness

laitman_243_05It is written in the Torah that when the sons of Israel cross the Jordan, the six tribes will be standing on the Mount Gerizim and blessing people, and the other six tribes will be standing on the Mount Eival and cursing people. These are two lines: the right line and the left line.

The left line (curse) is in no way worse that the right one. We must move along the middle line, including both parts. After all, it is written, “I (the Creator) created evil and I created goodness to balance it.” If we match them with each other correctly, we will go along the middle line, combining evil with goodness.

Therefore, selecting goodness over evil, we select one over the other, but in no case one of the two. Otherwise, we will not exist as a creature. The absolutely egoistic creature dresses into an altruistic external form and exists in the upper world in this form.

It turns out that evil is the basis, which must be dressed into the correct gown.

“So That You Will Be A Holy People”

laitman_746_03Torah, Deuteronomy 26:18 – 26:19: And the Lord has selected you this day to be His treasured people, as He spoke to you, and so that you shall observe all His commandments, and to make you supreme, above all the nations that He made, [so that you will have] praise, a [distinguished] name and glory; and so that you will be a holy people to the Lord, your God, as He spoke.

“To make you supreme, above all the nations,” means to elevate within yourself the quality that is called Yehudi (from the word “Yihud” – adhesion, connection with the Creator) above all your other desires that are called the nations.

We see this in history. The people of Israel never, even in the best years when they had strength, engaged in any conquests.

Only in ancient times, did King David have to protect Israel from enemies. Then, the so-called “Kibush David” was carried out—the conquest of the territories from the Nile to the Euphrates—in order to keep all the tribes that inhabited them under control because otherwise these tribes were constantly raiding Israel.

Therefore, when the Torah speaks about the people who are chosen, praised, and great, it is referring to the work to annul yourself. Then, you elevate the part of Israel within yourself that is directed to the Creator above all the rest of your egoistic parts. This is only about the inner state of a person.

In addition, it is about serving the world in order to be, as it is written in the Torah, the Light or, in other words, an example for all the nations of the world.

The same applies to the Temple. It is written, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples” (Isaiah 56:7). After all, from ancient times, not only Jews went there, but absolutely everyone. A person could go there from any place, from anywhere, in order to pray, to ask something, or to participate in the classes. This is how many non-Jewish scholars appeared among us.

Not To Pervert The Judgment Of The Stranger, The Orphan, Or The Widow

Laitman_509Torah, Deuteronomy 27:19: Cursed be he who perverts the judgment of the stranger, the orphan, or the widow. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

Those who already are on the spiritual level exist only in order to pull after them “a stranger,” “a widow,” and “an old man,” that is, all the weak ones, meaning weak spiritual desires.

These desires can be very big egoistically. For example, a “baby” is very big egoism with a scanty bit of spirituality in it, like in a baby. “Woman” is also huge egoism, but she can only follow the male part and, therefore, is considered weak.

All the parts within a person called “an old man,” “woman,” “baby,” and so on speak about egoism that is very difficult to correct. Therefore, those who already are on the path above them (other qualities of a person) must work on pulling all these egoistically strong, but spiritually weak qualities after them.

“Not to pervert the judgment of the stranger, the orphan, or the widow” means not to feel sorry for or indulge them in any case, but to correct these weak desires by adding your spiritual attainments to them.

It is necessary to raise them the way you help a woman, a baby, or an old man. You need to develop them and include them in yourself, like AHP becomes included into Galgalta Eynaim and thus rises.

“The Heaven Which Is Over Your Head Shall Be Bronze”

laitman_761_3Torah, Deuteronomy, 28:23: The heaven which is over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you, iron.

The heaven and earth symbolize desires within a person. We are talking about such types of restriction when you will be unable to do anything with these desires: neither with bronze nor with iron.

The heaven has to be the property of Bina, the property of bestowal and love, but it is not. If you do not connect with others like you in the correct interaction, then all of life becomes very tough.

You do not have the Creator or egoistic desire. You exist between them like in the air.

“And There, You Shall Build An Altar To The Lord”

laitman_625_01Torah, Deuteronomy 27:05: And there, you shall build an altar to the Lord, your God, an altar of stones. You shall not wield any iron upon them.

“Iron” is an egoistic state of a person that one cannot use. Everything that we produce for bestowal should be made with clean hands.

Torah, Deuteronomy 27:06: You shall build the altar of the Lord, your God, out of whole stones. And on it, you shall offer up burnt offerings to the Lord, your God.

The whole stones were always used for the foundation of the masonry of a Temple—huge blocks of hundreds of tons, 12 – 18 meters in length. Today, we are unable to move them from place to place, and previously they were not only laid, but also brought from the quarry that was located tens of kilometres from Jerusalem.

It is not clear how they were delivered there, laid on top of each other with great accuracy without any padding, and how they were cut, raised, and laid. After all, today we practically do not have such equipment. However, everyone can see the foundation of the Jerusalem wall. It is amazing!

Comment: It is said that the Jews practiced on the erection of the Egyptian pyramids.

Answer: Everything was different in Egypt. They used relatively small blocks of limestone, a soft stone that is very easy to process. However, here it is just inconceivable.

To build an altar from whole stones means not putting any tools on it. I am not a specialist either in archaeology or in construction; I just know how it happens inside a person: in order for his original, integral desires to receive the correct form, they must be framed into the correct intentions and used this way.

In no case can we distort the natural qualities of a person, his intentions and motivations, even the most horrible ones if they exist. There cannot be any coercion. After all, all these qualities can be used for bestowal only with the help of the upper Light.

Framing the stones with the help of the upper Light was the art of Betzalel, who built the altar.

A sacrifice, Kurban (from the word Lehitkarev, approximation) means that we bring our egoism, convert it to the quality of bestowal and love, and get closer to the Creator this way.

Therefore, we must correct in ourselves only natural, primordial egoistic desires that we received from the shattering of the soul of Adam.
