Spiritual Ascent Is Strengthening Unity

275Question: What does it mean that a person corrects the inner body and reveals the NRN of Nefesh of the world of Assiya? Are these some degrees of connection?

Answer: A person corrects his or her desires, which first rise to the level of the world of Assiya, then to the level of the world of Yetzira, then to the level of the world of Beriya, and the world of Atzilut. There are four degrees before us that we must climb.

This correction occurs in connection in the ten, when you discover the Creator, the light, inside your unity with the friends.

Question: How does a person understand that now he or she has risen to the degree of the world of Assiya and not just experiencing a feeling of connection with one’s friends?

Answer: At the level of the world of Assiya, a person still does not understand this. One must ascend to Yetzira and Beriya. At the level of the world of Beriya, a person comes to understand where one is and what is happening to him or her. Then comes the world of Atzilut.

Question: Do these degrees have anything to do with the connection between friends? What is added in these details: Assiya, Yetzira, Beriya? Is this some kind of connection density?

Answer: Yes, it adds a feeling of unity with friends and the ability to hold the light in their connection.

Show Only Good Strivings

528.01Question: Is it worth talking to the ten about actions through force, or is it an individual inner work through which we seek a connection with the Creator and ask for strength to overcome resistance?

Answer: We can talk about it a little bit among ourselves, but preferably less. In any case we need to cheer each other up.

Usually, in the ten, we show only good aspirations and not those that distance us from each other. The main thing is to be all together as if we are embracing and moving forward. There are no boundaries in this regard.

Mechanism of Spiritual Ascent

528.02Question: I am trying to understand the mechanism of transitioning from a state where you clearly see the faults of a friend in a group to a state where you rise above this and suddenly begin to see his best qualities. How does this happen?

Answer: You must imagine that your friend is above you. As if you bow before him and treat him with respect; you consider him great, and thus you start to want to adhere to him.

Then a special connection appears between you, because you, by wanting to rise to his level, want to get closer to him, hold onto him, and the same with each of the ten people. This way you rise together with them.

Your nine friends treat you exactly the same way you treat them. Therefore, you get a Kabbalistic ten, a group that elevates itself.

Question: Why does this happen?

Answer: Each of the ten contains a piece of upper energy, upper light. If you want to highlight this piece, to raise it, and if you treat all nine friends as greater than you, then you kind of hold onto them and they raise you. And everyone, in relation to everyone, does the same.

The Main Thing in Spiritual Work

544Question: How can the properties of the righteous be canceled in inner work? Outwardly I can show myself to be no one in the ten, but internally the quality of a righteous person will sit within me. How do you work with this correctly?

Answer: In your actions regarding your friends, you must place yourself below them so that this gradually becomes part of your character. It is imperative. Then you will receive more.

Question: But if everyone externally and internally considers himself a “heel,” i.e., the lowest, who should you take as an example when you need the confidence of your friends in their inner truth?

Answer: There is the Creator above all of you. He will raise or lower whoever is needed, give an example to the group somehow, and so on. You will interchange your different states all the time. The main thing is ensuring everyone feels like a heel.

Question: How can you more clearly sense which of your friends is a zero or a one?

Answer: It is not important for you to feel it. You should not see that this friend is worse and that one is better. This one has wholly canceled himself and that one has not yet. Do not test them. The main thing is to push them forward, care for them, and let you be the last one.

Keter Is the Quality of the Emanator

610.2Crown means Keter, and Keter is the Emanator and the Root. Kedusha [holiness] is connected to the root… (Baal HaSulam, Shamati 17, “What Does It Mean that the Sitra Achra Is Called ‘Malchut without a Crown’?”)

Question: What does it mean to choose holiness and connect with Keter?

Answer: We want all our actions to be directed at bestowal, as in Keter.

After all, Keter is entirely a quality of bestowal, while in the rest of the Sefirot (Hochma, Bina, and so on), there are all sorts of different qualities of reception and bestowal in different proportions to each other.

But Keter is completely bestowing, just as Malchut is completely receiving.

Question: Can we connect to the quality of Keter in the ten right away, or do we need to go through some intermediate stages?

Answer: To do this we must ask the Creator to give us more strength to fulfill the qualities of bestowal and not strive for reception, except for the most essential things. Then, we will be able to get closer to Keter (the Creator) and push away from Malchut.

Keter in the Work of the Ten

938.01Question: By what signs can we figure out what is the Keter in the work of the ten and whether we are working correctly for bestowal?

Answer: Keter in the work of the tens is our common desire to bestow. We unite with each other so that we have a greater common force of bestowal.

We must definitely ask the Creator to increase this desire, then Keter will be very strong due to the growth of the force of bestowal, and we will be able to advance.

Create a Place for the Creator

939.01Question: What kind of exercise can we perform in the ten for the correct work in connecting our individual and common desires?

Answer: By combining individual and common desires, we must aim to create a place for the Creator, which is called Shechina, so that He can be revealed there.

Desire is called a place. But Shechina is not just a desire. Shechina is a collection of all our desires in which we want to connect in order to give place to the Creator. Otherwise, He has no place.

How Does the Egoistic Mind Become Spiritual?

528.02Question: How does our egoistic mind become spiritual, and how do these changes occur in the ten?

Answer: The egoistic mind becomes spiritual gradually under the influence of the light of the Creator.

The closer we come to each other, the more we unite and the more we will be able to invite the influence of the light of the Creator upon us. This light will unite us, and under its influence we will come closer to the Creator and become like Him.

We will go through all this in our feelings and begin to feel how we are getting closer, uniting, and thus gradually approaching the goal.

Aim for the Ultimate Goal

938.03The process when a ten becomes one single whole is a gradual process of gathering people into tens, then tens, tens as units, into hundreds, and so on. This is how the spiritual pyramid is built, and thus we come to “one man.”

Question: How can we go through this process at the convention?

Answer: We will not be able to go through this process yet. Now we have to think only about our tens and how to connect them to such an extent that we feel what is before us. This is not the ultimate goal. It is still very elusive for us, but we need to know about it, think about it, and talk about it.

Connect And You Will See

528.01Question: Some of us go through difficult states. How can a ten raise them to the Creator?

Answer: Connect, despite the fact that everyone goes through a special state in their heart, in their desires, in their life circumstances, connect together. Then you will see why we need a group and Kabbalah in general.

Question: How can one constantly be in prayer for the ten and ask, ask, ask the Creator?

Answer: Pay attention to the slightest changes in your relationship. Then you will have reasons and words with which to turn to the Creator.

Question: How can I use a private state to raise a ten and not load it with the heaviness on my heart? By dividing the state to everyone, I make it easier for myself, but I burden others. Would it not be harmful to them?

Answer: No, by no means. In any circumstance, what you do, you do for everyone: in your questions, in your answers, and in your actions.
