The Power Of The Creator And The Power Of Pharaoh

562.02Question: How can we understand that Pharaoh is the other side of the Creator?

Answer: If the Creator is good, pushes us toward goodness and unity, wants to raise us, and leads us to a state above the entire nature, then Pharaoh does the exact opposite, He pushes us down, does not allow us to grow as a people, and wants a simple, ordinary, limited, beastly life for us.

Pharaoh is, so to say, equal to the Creator by module. He is just the other side of Him.

Question: Does it mean that as much as the Creator is great, so Pharaoh is great also?

Answer: Yes, but the difference between them is that with the power of Pharaoh one can act for oneself, and with the power of the Creator, for the sake of others.

Perception Of Spirituality

237Question: You constantly say that the first step in implementing the Kabbalistic methodology is the most difficult, and then everything goes smoothly. Why is the first transition so difficult?

Answer: Because the first transition is a cardinal change, the change of one’s nature to the opposite—from egoistic to altruistic—and all the other steps are just ascents in an altruistic way. That is, they are already similar to each other and you do not change inversely.

Question: In your feeling, when you experienced this yourself, how wonderful was this transformation?

Answer: It is impossible to convey in words how your perception of the world, worldview, world outlook, and world existence change, because there are no such means in this world.

Question: But you said that all changes occur in sensations, that is, not so much in matter, but in relation to everything else. Does it mean that at the level of matter everything remains the same?

Answer: What does it mean “the same”? If the same exists subjectively in relation to you, then what does it mean that everything remains the same? How can it be?

Matter is desire. Desire functions in a completely different way. That is, there is inanimate, vegetative, and animate matter; this is our entire world including everyone who is in it, including people, and the next level is human matter.

Human is Adam, from the word “Domeh” (similar to the Creator). You begin to own this matter, it becomes yours. When a desire takes the form of Adam (similar to the Creator), you feel the next degree in it.

Comment: You often give the example that people expect something that is somewhere beyond the horizon, but all real changes are happening here, now, at this moment.

My Response: Yes, because there is nothing beyond the horizon. You are in a certain desire, you need to change its application, its form, from “for yourself” to “for others,” to bestowal, to outside of yourself. This is what you need to do.

How To Cope With The Shock Of Hate?

962.3Comment: Lyudmila asks about how to cope with the shock of so much hatred that has been revealed? She wonders if we are strong enough to cover this mass of disclosed evil?”

My Response: No, you do not have to do it. You do not have to cover anything, you do not have to deal with anything. We should just try to love. Otherwise, it is impossible to get out of this state.

Now a lot of evil has been revealed, and we have the opportunity to reveal goodness.

Question: And if we did not have such an opportunity to reveal goodness, to reveal love, would evil be revealed?

Answer: From where? We must approach a feeling of goodness and love in advance, gradually, slowly, in order to begin to feel that in fact, there is evil and hatred between us, and then consciously extract the property of love and connection.

Question: If this evil had not been revealed, would we not have been able to obtain this love today?

Answer: Yes, of course.

Question: So it turns out that we are already able to extract it?

Answer: We are capable of it. We have to. Otherwise, it would not open. We must be prepared for this.

Question: Is there any law in this?

Answer: The law is absolutely clear, there is such a sinusoidal, periodic component here.

Love and hate, love and hate, this is how it should periodically manifest itself, overlapping each other, and grow, grow, and grow.

The Creator Is Love

572.02Question: Victoria writes: “Dear Michael Laitman, from your explanations it seems we can feel true love only for the Creator. Is that true? What about us? Are we destined to live without love?”

Answer: No, why? We will love each other to the extent that we see each other as a partner, a companion, and a friend in reaching love for the Creator.

Question: How can we understand this “reaching love for the Creator?”

Answer: I have to establish such relationships and states with other people who are both close and distant and with absolutely everyone regardless of what kind of relationships I have with them, until they all eventually give me the opportunity to feel and explore the Creator.

Question: When you say “the Creator” what do you mean?

Answer: The very feeling of love, connection, mutuality, getting closer to each other, and adhesion.

Question: Should this be our goal? And do we need to constantly move toward it?

Answer: Yes. We must constantly move toward it. Moreover, the Creator by Himself does not exist. A feeling exists of getting closer to others, which arises from a mutual attempt to reveal the quality of love and bestowal.

Question: Do you call this feeling the revelation of the Creator?

Answer: Yes. The Creator is love. This has nothing to do with love for a man, a woman, a child, no matter who or what. This is just love for everything that I would say, feels like it exists outside of me.

Question: Is there love only outside of me?

Answer: Yes.

Question: I do not have it within me. And is it right to say love is only outside of me?

Answer: Within me it is egoistic and predetermined and I must rise above it to feel the true love.

Until We Reveal The Creator

509Question: Can we say that the Creator or nature wants to teach us something through negative experiences?

Answer: That is right. It is through negative experiences that we must bring the idea and attainment of an absolutely eternal, upper, pure mind into this world.

Therefore, the entire experience of a person, from creating statues and worshiping various gods, to scientific research leading him to the conclusion that only he rules the whole world, can be called idolatry.

This goes on until he realizes that there is only one single force. We all commit idol worship until we reveal the Creator.

Question: So if I believe that some nation started a war against another nation or if someone has done something against me, and I do not feel a single force behind it, then is this attitude called idolatry?

Answer: Yes, you believe that it was done by someone other than the Creator. This is already idolatry.

The Creator Is The Upper Quality Of Nature

610.1Question: You wrote once that the depiction of the Creator in any image except as the quality of bestowal and love is idolatry. What does it mean?

Answer: The Creator is a quality, a force, an idea. This special quality of nature is the highest, the most general. It includes everything.

If I imagine Him in something materialized, corporeal, then this is already idolatry. I narrow His image down to some other, clear, one might even say, egoistic embodiment.

Question: So it is not enough just to believe that there is some kind of a single force and that it stands behind everything and manages everything?

Answer: It is also possible. But this, of course, is not perfect.

Develop The Embryo Of The Soul

232.07Question: Should there be a transformation in the process of learning a spiritual technique where everything transitions from words into an inner sensation?

Answer: Certainly. This must be lived. This is how any matter, property, and feelings gradually develop. If you do not do anything with some organ, it will not develop; but if you start working with it, you will begin to train and develop it.

That is all. There is nothing non-materialistic, secret, or mystical here; there is just work on yourself.

Kabbalah is the most “sporty” work; there is nothing else in it. There is a kind of rudimentary embryo that exists in you, but it is actually not rudimentary. Use it! It has been dormant in you for thousands of years. You need to start working with it.

Just like when you come to work for a blacksmith or a carpenter and they show you how to work with the material. You do not know anything yet, but you start working with this object and gradually it turns out that you have some feelings for it, sensations, and you get to know it.

This metal starts ringing in you, singing, responding to every strike, and in accordance with this, you feel what is happening to it.

With experience, certain sensations develop in you. What does experience mean? It is accumulation, it is familiarity with the object that you are working with.

It is the same here. Nothing else. Only the principle is a little different, because in addition, you have to work against your egoism. That is, you study your nature and work on it. And in this lies the secret.

Can Connection Become An Idol?

559Question: Is the worship of one’s egoism idolatry?

Answer: Yes, of course.

Question: And how do we not to become an idolater?

Answer: Be engaged in your own development all the time.

Question: But you keep explaining that development happens through a group, through society, and through connection. Can this connection become an idol?

Answer: It can. It depends on how you perceive and develop it. On this basis, perhaps mistakenly, a lot of various methods, theories, as a rule, group ones, have appeared.

Question: How can we maintain a balance between attaining the Creator and uniting people?

Answer: The Creator is attained in the connection of people. The right connection of people is the identification of the Creator.

How To Successfully Beg The Creator

239Question: Peter asks: “How can we ask the Creator to be merciful? There is enough blood already, what does He want from us?”

Answer: He wants you to be like Him, that is, to first realize that He is the only one who commands everything and that everything depends only on Him, so that people turn only to Him, to the Creator.

And if you want to turn to Him, you must be together. Together! Together even with the most hated opponents, whatever they may be. If you cannot approach a stranger, some person you hate, and hug him and turn to the Creator, you must start from afar, but gradually, with the intention of approaching, embracing, and turning to the Creator. Without this, the Creator will not hear you.

The Creator stands behind your hater, the enemy, behind him. If you want to turn to the Creator, you must somehow pierce the heart of your enemy with your attitude.

Question: Does he have to pierce his heart first to get close to the enemy?

Answer: Of course.

Comment: But this is an unbearable condition.

My Response: If this is an unbearable condition, it means we will die. From century to century.

Question: Do you think this is the main condition?

Answer: Yes! It should become such that I am obliged to see my beloved people in everyone, moreover, parts of the Creator, His messengers and representatives. If I treat everything around me in this way, then I will suddenly see that the Creator is clothed in them. He is in them, fills them, and in general, it is all Him. Everything!

Question: An ordinary person hears you, and everything turns upside down inside him. He says: “It is not just impossible, it is completely crazy.” What should he do, a person like that?

Answer: Turn over!

Question: And here I should also ask the Creator: “Give me the opportunity to roll over”?

Answer: Of course! Who am I? Some small selfish part that is not capable of anything.

Question: That is, I am able to do that only if I turn to the Creator with my wish to roll over and approach my enemy, embrace him, and raise a prayer together with him?

Answer: I ask the Creator to allow me to do this, to show me, teach me, and push me, and that my opponent would also want the same and would agree with me.

Because I see both myself and the enemy as an action of the Creator. That the Creator guides us against each other like this, pushes us against each other, incites us. And so I ask the Creator to bring us closer, to open my enemy’s arms instead of his fists so that we gradually show our love for each other. Up to real love.

Comment: If the world would hear you…

My Response: If people want it; that is the problem. And the Creator, He is ready for it if people want it. Whether they want to or not depends on the suffering they feel.

Comment: The cup overflows, of course.

My Response: We have no idea how overflowing the egoistic cup is. How much grief you can pour into it! A sea can enter there, and you as if notice, something may have appeared at the bottom there.

Question: If so, what is the solution?

Answer: Continue! Yes, selfishness is infinite, just like altruism. And we must connect them correctly. We do not destroy one at the expense of the other; we only have to connect them correctly.

Question: Hatred with love, egoism with altruism?

Answer: Yes, just raise one above the other. Not hate over love, but love over hate. This is called “love will cover all crimes.” And without hatred and suffering, love will not be felt.

So, we must cherish and store hatred. Add a little more here and a little more there. This is the kind of hatred we lack here. Oh, it feels so good! Now I understand how much I can love because some other hatred has manifested itself.

Question: And I have the opportunity to love more?

Answer: Yes. It is a game.

Comment: But in fact, this is a life and death game.

My Response: Actually, nothing can be said about it until we start to implement it seriously. But when we finish, we will understand that it was right, and the Creator was right, that this is how He created the world. Justification is complete only at the end.

Then we will be absolutely righteous. Because we justify. Righteous comes from the word “justifying all the actions of the Creator.”

Constantly Changing Pharaoh

962.6Question: Why is Pharaoh constantly changing? First he was good, then he was bad and so on. What does it mean?

Answer: He does not change by himself, but what changes is only his manifestation in relation to a person. At first, it seems to a person that Pharaoh is good, that he equips him with everything, leads him, hosts him, and gives him a good place in Egypt.

Then gradually, it is as if a different Pharaoh appears and he is bad. So it is said in the Torah: “And a new king arose over Egypt” (Rabash, “A Real Prayer is over a Real Deficiency”).

It is the same king, but because the person has changed and requires a different attitude toward himself, then Pharaoh has changed and does not give him what he would like. So it turns out to be a bad Pharaoh.
