The Creator Is The Upper Quality Of Nature

610.1Question: You wrote once that the depiction of the Creator in any image except as the quality of bestowal and love is idolatry. What does it mean?

Answer: The Creator is a quality, a force, an idea. This special quality of nature is the highest, the most general. It includes everything.

If I imagine Him in something materialized, corporeal, then this is already idolatry. I narrow His image down to some other, clear, one might even say, egoistic embodiment.

Question: So it is not enough just to believe that there is some kind of a single force and that it stands behind everything and manages everything?

Answer: It is also possible. But this, of course, is not perfect.
