From A Small Stream To The Great Sea Of Wholeness

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What is the attitude of the wisdom of Kabbalah to the modern development of the world? Towards what is the world advancing? Will there be an end to the situation that we call the “crisis”?

Answer: The translation of the word “crisis”” from Greek means, a new birth, rather than the destruction of the old. Basically, destruction of the old means that the new already exists. It has appeared, but we have yet to discover it.

How can we pass through this state of the birth of a new world comfortably, rapidly, and pleasantly?

We have always developed with the help of the ego that has consistently pushed us by way of all the social structures until we have now reached a state in which we have totally lost the desire to evolve. Space exploration, the development of nature, and a wide range of scientific studies have all gradually waned.

For the first time in human history, we feel that our ego has completely failed us.

The world is sinking into nihilism, into lack of activity, and into an absence of desire to create anything. We see that even with the best intentions, everything that we do ultimately acts against us. The world around us doesn’t make us happy and doesn’t provides us with pleasant situations. We don’t want to bring children into the world or establish families, nor do we see anything good about the future. And all this is because our ego has exhausted itself, and we no longer have any motivation to advance.

So, what is next?

The wisdom of Kabbalah reveals the whole picture of reality to us. It says that at present, we are at a crossroad in history where we must change our egoistic nature from reception to bestowal. This means changing our nature into one that is altruistic. We must come to realize the eternal Biblical principle, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

And so through a new covenant between us, we begin to experience a new picture of reality. We begin to attract the positive forces of nature because we ourselves create a positive society from ourselves.

The wisdom of Kabbalah explains how to do this, so our task is to study this science.

Throughout all the thousands of years of its existence, the wisdom of Kabbalah has been the inheritance of only a small handful of people, the Kabbalists, who developed it from generation to generation. For many years this hidden science flowed within humanity like a small stream, although many scientists and philosophers: Newton, Leibnitz, Pico della Mirandola, and others, investigated it.

Plato and Aristotle took the basis of their knowledge from the wisdom of Kabbalah. The 16th century German philosopher, Johannes Reuchlin, wrote a great work, De Arte Cabalistica (On the Art of the Kabbalah). This is to say that the wisdom of Kabbalah has been known to scientists, and yet, it didn’t go beyond their circle.

In our time, it has been revealed to everyone because it must explain to us how we will attain mutual connection between us.

The wisdom of Kabbalah says that our world is integrally connected as an analog system in which all parts are connected to each other. From our daily work we discover that this world is an absolute closed system. The still, vegetative, animate and speaking levels of nature are connected to each other and are found together as a single complex.

If this is indeed so, we need to reach complete harmony in the connection between us in order to reach a good and beautiful state.

How can harmony like this be reached? For this we must develop a good connection. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the moment we begin with the right circuits of interaction, we will immediately feel how we attract a higher positive energy onto ourselves. This will not be the negative egoistic power that exists in our world and in which everything is based upon opposition and blows, but its opposite. This is a positive energy that fills, supplies, strengthens, and connects us to each other and creates a single whole.

This general harmony will be like the unified power of nature, the great global system, this sphere within which we exist.

The general crisis, which is in fact a product of the disharmony between nature and humanity, will then disappear. We will feel the universe absolutely differently, as eternal and whole. We will merit that eternal and complete existence and our world with its ego will begin to gradually disappear from our senses.

I hope that the present generation will understand what opportunities are in our hands, and how we can truly overcome the crisis in a good and beautiful way. If we are able to do this, we will reach the better, higher state that is intended for humanity.

Six Steps

We cannot even imagine how we, the people of the planet Earth, are close to each other.

Do you know how many people are between, for example, a technologist from India and archivist of Estonia? It turns out only six.

In 2002, the American sociologist Duncan Watts and his colleagues conducted an impressive experiment.

A task was given to more than 98,000 volunteers. Through their acquaintances, scattered around the world, they had to send an email message to an unknown addressee, arbitrarily chosen for this purpose.

The list of recipients contained a university professor, an archivist from Estonia, an engineer from India, an Australian policeman, a Norwegian army vet, and others. There were eighteen people altogether.

The experiment showed that, on average, it was necessary to forward the message six times so that it reached its destination.

“This progression of human beings out of such an ostensibly anarchical condition into ever larger and ever more ordered aggregations – of bands, villages, cities, and states – can in fact be understood as a gradual rise in the size and complexity of social networks. And today this process is continuing to unfold as we become hyperconnected.” (Nicholas Christakis and James Fowler, Connected)

We are connected through one network. We influence each other directly or indirectly. For example, coffee harvested in Brazil, just like vodka, produced in Russia, people drink everywhere, with all the ensuing positive and negative consequences. It can be said this a direct link between the countries.

Indirect relations include all that relates to the waste associated with the production of the same coffee and vodka, as well as the production of energy needed for this. All this has been known for a long time.

“Humanity, as a living substance, is inextricably linked with the material-energetic processes of the specific geological envelope of the Earth – its biosphere. It cannot be physically independent from it for a minute.” (Vladimir I. Vernadsky, “Some Words About the Noösphere”)

Tendencies for unity and interdependence are increasing every year. Whether we like it or not. Whether we are aware of this or not. The term “globalization” has long since become an everyday word in all the languages. Ambassador Wu Jianmin, President, China Foreign Affairs University, says the following about this:

“The world of the 21st century is different from that in which we lived before. We have moved from mutual assured destruction to economic interdependence.”

Whether you like it or not, globalization is gaining momentum and makes our world deeply interdependent. A conspicuous example is the relationship between China and the United States …

In 1972, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $5 million USD, and in 2012 it reached $500 billion USD

In 1972, US investments in the Chinese economy were zero, and now they are up $60 billion USD.” (Global Affairs).

Interconnections are a good thing. It is difficult to argue. However, a direct consequence of such deep relationships is interdependence. And it is fraught with consequences, and not always pleasant. It is because of this relationship and this interdependence that the financial crisis broke out in 2008.

What can we do, how can we connect what seemingly cannot be connected? We need some special methodology to solve this apparently unsolvable problem. But this methodology has been around for a long time. With its help, Abraham connected completely different people into a single nation with a unique destiny.

“The conflict between good and evil which proceeds unceasingly in the breast of man nowhere reaches such an intensity as in the Jewish race. The dual nature of mankind is nowhere more strongly or more terribly exemplified.” (Winston S. Churchill, “A Struggle for the Soul of the Jewish People”)

Problems That Stem From An Excess Of Intelligence

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe difference between a person and a cat is that a cat doesn’t make mistakes because it is connected to nature, with the force that moves it called nature or the Creator. This is the power of the overall system that manages the cat and shows it how to behave at each and every moment.

So a cat never makes a mistake. It doesn’t even think about what it is doing; it only acts and that’s it. It is constantly managed by the system, and so every one of its jumps are precisely calculated. A cat acts like a perfect machine.

A person, unlike a cat, is not a perfect machine. On the contrary, he doesn’t know how to act and constantly makes mistakes. Even though he has received additional senses and intelligence in comparison to other animals, he is not managed by nature.

This is called his freedom of choice, which determines how he uses his human emotion and intelligence. And if he doesn’t take the entire general system into account, he always activates his intelligence incorrectly and harms himself. After all, his ego causes him to err.

If we intentionally don’t learn how to use our intelligence correctly, we always harm ourselves. The proof for this is in the entire history of the human race that has gone on for thousands of years, yet development isn’t good and beautiful anywhere. It is accompanied by wars and problems, searches and disappointments, and failure is followed by failure. We try to do things for the best, but things only become worse.

The time has come to say, “Enough!, We are tired of all of these failures, the hatred, the problems in the family.” One by one, families fall apart, since in our development, we have reached the recognition of evil.

This is no longer just the miserable life that we lived before when nature pushed us to development through blows. In our time we have reached a level of intelligence and feelings by which we can see we have been developing by suffering that is only increasing. We are talking about a third world war. So, are we unable to stop it?

Modern man no longer wants anything from life except drugs or antidepressants. He doesn’t want to start a family and bring children into the world. He doesn’t want to take any responsibility. In this situation, we come to the month of Elul, to repentance. But this means that the solution to this bad situation is already illuminating us and redemption is near. We are ready to stop this flawed development, this negative trend. We have had enough suffering!

This is the sum total of the month of Elul, our decision to develop in a new form from now on. It means that we decide to reach balance with nature, to approach the higher power through establishing new rules of behavior based upon, “and you shall love your friend as yourself.” In this way, we reach balance with nature and become like the higher power.

Human society must reach full mutual support so that by itself, it will control that additional intelligence and feeling that has raised us above the level of the animal, prevented us from balance with nature and took us outside of the realm of its control. This means that we must arrange our reason and feeling through connection, unity, and love between us.

In this way we complete ourselves on the level of Adam (man) and make the entire system homogeneous, integral, connected, united, and completely mutually dependent, like everything else in nature. This is called love.

We don’t understand what love is. Love is to be in partnership, in the right connection with all the rest of the parts of nature. You feel them and do what they need and they feel you and do what you need, like a healthy body in which all of the organs are in a mutual connection such as this.

The understanding that we must reach such a connection is called the month of Elul, repentance.

Question: So what is it necessary to think in a time like the month of Elul, in order to change life into a better life?

Answer: In our world, only the good connection between people is missing. There is full abundance, but everyone suffers because of their intolerable character. We must correct this, and we have the opportunity to do so.

If we direct ourselves towards correction, it would be a wonderful result of the self-criticism that we do in the month of Elul. So we truly advance according to its name: Elul, meaning,  “Ani LeDodi VeDodi Li” – “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine,”(“Song of Songs” 6:3).

The Prohibition Of Incest

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah, “Leviticus” (Acharei Mot), 18:6: None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness. I am the LORD.

There is a clear separation into the male and female parts in the spiritual system that descends from Above: the Light of Hassadim (mother) and the Light of Hochma (father).

The Light of Hochma descends through the father and the Light of Hassadim descends through the mother. They can intersect in the form of children but only in a certain combination and not randomly.

The combination can be when a certain amount of the Light of Hochma enters the Light of Hassadim, which it can contain. This means that the attribute of bestowal has to be in the amount that it can contain the Light of Hochma: pleasure in order to bestow, a filling for the sake of dissemination.

It is because every action has to be for love, for bestowal, and for the correction of others according to the rule of “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Everything is directed towards bestowal since a person’s soul is external to him.

Actions that are directed towards my own benefit and which exceed the measure necessary for my existence are invalid, not kosher, and immediately destroy the souls. Thus a person has to advance within certain limits, understanding that he can only reach a certain limit and no more. How can he be shown this in advance? There is a spiritual system that descends from Above in order to enable him to properly focus only on bestowal and to advance properly as he understands the limits of the options that he has, and to determine them independently and use them freely.

It has to teach us and show us the options we have. When we teach a child, we show him what is allowed and what is forbidden, what is good and what is bad. First we show a child something and then we want him not only to perform what we show him, but to also make a half-step forward. Similarly, the spiritual system should teach a person skills by which he can advance independently. Thus the system of Adam (human being) has to develop independently.

In our world we develop only by blows and punishments. We see that humanity is constantly mistaken and that we cannot act properly because we grow in our ego. Such mistakes are impossible in the spiritual world.

In order to protect a person in his spiritual growth, a system of self-learning has to be created in him, not the type that we generally create from the top down, but rather from the bottom up when a person still doesn’t know what to do. This is only possible in the spiritual world, thanks to its attributes.

The word forbidden in the Torah means impossible. The prohibition of incest among relatives means that it is impossible to create part of the soul in this combination, since every action that we make is a consistent correction of another part of the soul.

It is impossible to correct a certain part by this action because a vessel that is not fit for correction is formed in that way. The Light descends from above in two lines. One is a piece called father and the other is a piece called mother and they can be combined only on certain levels.

The combination should be between signals that are absolutely disconnected that descend from a single part of the system. In other words, the attribute of bestowal and the attribute of receiving have to renew constantly in the totally new parts of the soul. Getting closer identically, which stems from one upper source, is impossible.

Question: Is there an example for that in our world?

Answer: Of course. Anything that exists in the spiritual world, in the form of roots, is revealed in our world in the form of their derivatives. Thus, there is the prohibition of incest between a father and a daughter, a mother and a son, etc.

These derivatives exist in our world and they lead to negative outcomes. The psychological and mental problems caused by the marriage of relatives of European monarchs and their offspring are well known.

Incest is only possible on the animal level, but the offspring of animals are totally detached from their mother and the biological, genetic connection with the parents disappears. Several years later they can easily come in contact with one another, not realizing that they are relatives.

This is impossible in a human being since he is connected to the Upper Light, while animals are on a lower level.

Many Things Exist In This World

laitman_202_0Question: I read your materials and was amazed concerning the issue of the development of the ego and its intermediate steps at the level of inanimate – coral, the level of vegetative – the “dog of the field,” and the level of animate – the monkey and the human being.

Many ask themselves what is the “dog of the field?” Is it a squirrel in the Arava desert or another kind of squirrel? After all, you are referring to a vegetative animal. Could you please present an exact scientific name, preferably in Latin if possible?

Otherwise, we will seem naïve and ridiculous, and there isn’t any such scientific subcategory. The children in school are taught that the monkey is also an animal. While the monkey is similar to a human being, it belongs to the animals but can constitute a kind of bridge to people. All of these materials should be presented through scientific editing.

Answer: I will leave the search for scientific confirmation of the words of the Ari to you. He was a great Kabbalist who attained the upper world and from there describes its structure in the language of the branches, which is the result of our world.

What does he mean exactly, I don’t dare argue with, but I am sure that if he wrote it from within his attainment of the upper roots, then a plant-animal, like the “dog of the field,” exists, although it hasn’t yet been discovered by science or known with these attributes.

I also don’t know exactly what kind of monkey from our evolutionary ancestors he means. The scientists try to test which of them is closest to us, but they also can make mistakes.

I only bring the words of the Ari whose opinion is correct beyond any shadow of a doubt. On the other hand, man will gradually discover all the upper roots from within his spiritual attainment and, accordingly, the corresponding branches.

Opinion (E.P. Fridman, Interesting Primatology): A man has twenty-three sets of chromosomes, and superior monkeys have twenty-four sets. However, one mustn’t think that the other monkeys, including the more inferior ones so distant from man in their chromosomal structure, determine a great similarity between types of man and many types of inferior monkeys.

However, it is understood that the greatest similarity of chromosomes is determined in man and the chimpanzee, as much as 98%. There is less similarity between the other types of monkeys as compared to man and the chimpanzee.

According to the basic principle signs of similarity between man and the monkey, according to chromosomes and genetic systems, the closest is the chimpanzee and the gorilla. After them comes the orangutan and, after that, the gibbon.

The resemblance between man and monkeys can’t be compared with the rest of the animals according to the structure and attributes of the many hormones. In the hemoglobin chain of the gorilla, there are a total of two substitutions of amino acids. The biochemist, Zurkerkendal, commented, “The gorilla is considered justifiably as an abnormal man, or man is considered an abnormal gorilla.”

The Root Of Ebola

Dr. Michael LaitmanReference: Disturbing headlines in the media tell of a serious epidemic of Ebola rapidly spreading in several countries in Africa. Currently, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are about 4,500 deaths and around 9,000 infected and carriers.

A WHO internal document suggests that attempts to halt the pandemic have failed. The whole world is concerned with what is happening. Of course, a variety of Hollywood movies come to mind, including Virus, filmed almost 20 years ago; its plot is based on the epidemic of Ebola.

In fact, the first outbreak of Ebola was noted in 1976, and since then until 2013 about 1,700 people have died from the disease. Thus, the virus itself is not new, but over the years, it has undergone mutations and shows a very high mortality rate.

Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with bodily fluids of the affected. Its primary symptoms are fever, headaches, dizziness, and other symptoms often associated with influenza.

Over time, the symptoms are aggravated: there is external and internal bleeding, as well as some other characteristic effects. Gradually, the body begins to fatally bleed, and thus the second name of the disease is hemorrhagic fever. The incubation period ranges from 2 to 21 days, a relatively short period.

Meanwhile, the UN has declared the current epidemic as a threat to peace and security.

Question: In the prism of the laws of nature and the direction of the processes going on in it, what exactly creates such an epidemic that caught both victims and scientists off guard?

Answer: Let’s view the picture from the perspective of Kabbalah. We are in a strict natural system, and the imbalance that we cause in it, especially in recent years, brings about phenomena of this kind.

Of course, epidemics occurred in the past. Some of them literally “mowed down” populations. But, anyway, viruses and bacteria, cells and organs, are all elements of the same system. We think that Africa is far away, that we have no connection to it, but in fact we are all parts of a whole.

That is why true medicine would take care to examine the general system and understand how it could be brought back to balance. After all, we systematically cause shifts in it and constantly disturb the balance, which leads to the disintegration of the subsystems and good connections, as well as the creation of new, distorted ties, generating unfit cells.

We would like to erase harmful microbes from our lives. But for microbes, the human body is just a habitat. We are a “biological reservoir” for them in which they can live and multiply.

People drink a bottle of yogurt in the morning with dozens of billions of beneficial bacteria and do not even realize that their body is a “home” for a much greater number of “tenants.”

It turns out that we live in a huge system, where the distance is not so important, where no body is isolated from the community. This is a giant organism in which there are various kinds of beings, both beneficial and harmful to our health.

This system is constantly balancing itself, equalizing differences, and our task is to bring it to a true equilibrium where helpful, friendly microbes are given the opportunity to be in equilibrium with the harmful, pathogenic ones.

Conversely, if we break the balance, even if it is in favor of “friends,” they turn into “enemies.” To balance the “distortion,” they have to turn part of themselves into the opposite.

For example, only fighting against predators and pests brings even greater damage because we disturb the balance of the overall ecosystem. At the turn of the 1960s, China initiated pest control, in particular with sparrows, destroying crops.

Within a year, several million birds were killed, as a result, caterpillars and locusts burgeoned and yields declined so much that there was a famine that killed tens of millions of people.

Thus, there are no “good” and “bad” bacteria or viruses. Our health is based on the equilibrium between them.

Meanwhile, we ourselves occupy the top level in the pyramid of the still, vegetative, animate, and human nature. And our problem is how here, at the top, can we create a balance among ourselves? If we would, equilibrium would then descend from the highest level of the hierarchy to all other levels and would adjust all the connections. That’s right, from top to bottom the entire system is ordered.

Therefore, it all depends on people. I don’t want to appear as a fortune teller or a moralist, but if we, as a society, would try to maintain a balance among each other, if we would introduce into the social environment a little more equality, a little more warmth, closeness, and mutual aid, it would have a beneficial impact on the lower levels of the total hierarchy, down to the still nature, including terrestrial and aquatic fauna and flora and the planet itself with its volcanoes, hurricanes, floods and other disasters. Thanks to us, the world would be eventually at rest.

After all, the human being occupies the top level in evolutionary development. In particular, social human relations today cause a total imbalance.

In this perspective, the essence of the problem is not Ebola and other troubles that threaten us. Many diseases that were rampant in the Middle Ages seemed to have vanished, but in reality they haven’t.

If we continue to exacerbate social imbalances, if we continue to break all the good relations among each other, up to the complete rejection of unity and balance, then by “our efforts” forgotten diseases and misfortunes will return. The current protection from them is not wholly a panacea, and it will turn out that there is no remedy.

Indeed, we are continuing our detrimental development and it is clear that we are drawn into a protracted, interminable crisis. As a consequence, we cause problems, diseases, and other manifestations of imbalance but on another level, on the other loop. Therefore, the old means and medications will not help.

The time has come to reflect and understand that the only medicine that can protect and safeguard us all is in human society’s balance. Only by positive relations on the top level of this system, which is under our control, will allow us to ensure our health.

People: Who Are We?

Working With A Person’s Desire

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: At the same time as the activity in Sochi, we have been involved with active dissemination in our locale. There have been close to two thousand people who have gone through our programs and have participated in circles and workshops. There were people who came regularly, time after time.

The question is: “What is our ultimate goal?” A person comes, sits in a circle; he likes the connection and unity; he even takes part in creating contact with us and later can act with us in partnership. But what is the goal? Is it that they will live better? What ultimately must happen?

Answer: The idea is that you must work on a person’s desire, on what he wants in his life. Accordingly, you must develop courses. Someone is interested in creating a family, another is interested in the education of children, a third is interested in working with his subordinates, a fourth is interested in mutual cooperation with the world, how can he be included in a society, more peaceful and healthy, etc. It is necessary to think about what he might “buy,” towards what his interests are directed.

Suppose that I go out to people. A hundred people are in front of me. I sit them in a shared general circle and go through a workshop in which they will begin to feel the right warm mutual cooperation between them. And it won’t be bad here if you ask them what they want in life, what is their inclination and yearning, what interests and concerns them. So I can easily determine in what kind of group I should include them.

This is because I have groups for the education of children, for creating a family, for improving productivity, to improve atmosphere in organizations, and more. But the direction of the group itself is not important to me because I teach them how to act with the right mutual partnership so that they will organize the right society among themselves.

The main thing for me is that they accept and perceive this right society as a field for discovering the unique force of nature where the characteristics of connection, mutuality, love, and warmth are created. They must feel this!

We must try to explain everything to them in a simple language, in the right, scientific language, with examples from daily life. Together with this, we summon a force that heals and calms us, that gives us a sensation of warmth, trust, and security. It creates everything that we greatly lack for a good existence. We need to bring them to it.

Essentially, without mentioning the Creator, we talk about His revelation, but we talk in words like these, so that they will understand all of this and no problems will pop up with them. It is necessary to develop our mutual cooperation with them specifically in this way, and the result of these courses will be the feeling of the general characteristic of nature: God is love.

The Boundaries Of Progress

laitman_739Opinion: Today, all measures are oriented towards adapting to emerging problems. We need a strategy for foreseeing them.

A report to the Roman Club (1972) shows the possible results of population growth and intended exhaustion of natural resources. The model is based on five major parameters: the Earth’s population, industrialization, food production, exhaustion of natural resources, and contamination of the environment. Each of them has dynamics of growth and impacts other parameters.

Within the last 50 years, the population of the Earth has tripled. Today, we live in an ecological niche that is not suitable for us: If a human being developed as a natural species, the number of people on the planet today would reach only half a billion, and humankind would live in warm climate areas.

We succeed by modifying our environment and making it comfortable for living. As a result, the population has reached seven billion people; the Earth’s energy and natural resources are about to be exhausted. We already know that development like this leads to a dead end.

Our society experiences “Cassandra’s dilemma”: nobody wants to change their lives at this time for the sake of a favorable future. We lack moral and spiritual values that allow us to care about the world.

However, a lack of an adaptation strategy is less crucial than the absence of a foreseeing strategy; all present-day strategies only tend to reduce existing stress.

Comment: Humankind is unable to create a strategy for our future advancement since it’s driven only by egoism. It’s obvious that we are incapable of reaching agreement. Only the higher strategy and methodology of elevation (morality, bestowal, and love from Above) can help us. Our task is to spread the knowledge that it’s in our power to elicit the higher energy, meaning the force that will change us by enhancing our collective mind and common desire and eventually resolving the problem of our mutual connection. This in turn will bring us deliverance and allow us to ascend the next level of advancement, to become Man.

A New Man – A “Post-Human” Man

laitman_229Observation (M. Hoffman, sociologist, Columbia University, New York): “Society that considers economic development as its primary goal needs a de-personalized human being to be its primary functional particle: ‘only a machine will bring people to freedom and contentment.’ In the 18th century, Leibniz stated that a man/mechanism is similar to a watch.

“The notion of a ‘live human screw’ has been developed to a present-day ideal of a ‘human-computer.’ The human logic surrendered and adjusted to the intellectual mentality of a computer. The post-industrial society intended to turn a human being into a machine. Science fiction considered transformation of the ‘imperfect’ human being into an impeccable machine that combines the Terminator’s athletic figure and a powerful computer-like intellect (a humanlike machine with boundless possibilities) to be a smart idea.”

Comment: As a result, we ended up in the dead end of modern civilization: Everybody thinks that they have to possess everything that will make them happy, but at the same time people are turned into miserable robots.

The solution to this problem is a reasonable limitation of the material fulfillment and unlimited spiritual self-actualization. It will create a sensation of complete material and psychological comfort. It is not about a “still” sensation of well-being, but rather a continuous aspiration to an infinite spiritual fulfillment.

The Truth About The Three Religions, Part 1

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Why has Islamic religious fanaticism become so strong in recent years? Islam began its journey to the West and is gradually conquering Europe and the United States. Today in Europe there are 54 million Muslims; 7 million Muslims are living in France alone.

The trend towards Islamization is gaining momentum, but worst of all is that it is amplified in the radical, extremist movements. In today’s Europe there are “Muslim ghettos” into which both residents and the police are afraid to enter. They conduct their closed lives in these places together with the Mosques and a legal system according to the laws of Islam.

This phenomenon has grown to threatening dimensions and has gradually gone beyond governmental control. The culture war began in central Europe, which had been an example of freedom, democracy, equal rights, and pluralism.

Suddenly a foreign body is beginning to develop within it that is opposed to all of its basic principles—radical Islam—bringing us back to the distant past regarding the equality of women and additional modern achievements.

The Dutch MP, Geert Wilders, founder of the “Freedom” party, made a speech warning of the great danger that threatens Europe. In his opinion, we are in the last stages of the process of the Islamization of Europe that threatens not only its existence but also the United States and all of Western civilization because it is leading to extremism, violence, and intifada.

Why has the popularity of radical Islam grown so much, in particular among the young?

Answer: The idea is that we have reached the last stage of the process of human development that has been happening for thousands of years. Human civilization emerged from ancient Babylon and developed in two directions: Part of the people followed Abraham and the other part were scattered all over the world. After that, the doctrine of Abraham became the foundation of the three world religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

These religions developed in that order, one after the other. Judaism developed directly from Abraham. Christianity was founded around 2,000 years ago when the first Christian communities appeared. And Islam only appeared in the 7th century.

A relative flowering and decline of every religion happens according to these stages. Judaism flourished in its true form until the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash (temple). After the destruction, the Jewish people neglected the principle of “Love your neighbor as yourself,” that was the foundation of the doctrine of Abraham, and so it went into exile. This was a spiritual exile from the altruistic state, a fall from brotherly love into hatred.

Christianity flourished until the Middle Ages, and after that it began to decline, change, and split with the formation of the Protestant movement.

Islam was in a long dormancy and didn’t express itself in its full power. And only lately, when Judaism and Christianity became so weakened that they stopped determining the form of society, then it began to become stronger. And indeed, it is written in the Torah that in the end of days, in the last stage of human development, Islam would accumulate great power, as was written about Ishmael, (Genesis 16:12) “…his hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him… ,” meaning that this religion would ascend above all.

Judaism flowered for the first 2,000 years after the departure of Abraham from ancient Babylon, meaning approximately until the beginning of the common era. This was a period when Judaism existed in its true spiritual form and in its full power. Yet after that the Jewish people fell from their spiritual level and began to sink into physical desires. Therefore they went into exile. Every generation sank deeper than its predecessor.

After the burst of Judaism, the Christian surge began. Christianity developed in a storm until it squeezed itself out. Today we are in the period of the decline of Christianity, which has lost its former power. In Europe, to be a Christian, nothing is required except for a necklace with a cross around the neck.

In some places Christian fanatics still remain, but these are not people who were Christians from the start, these accepted Christianity in a more recent period, as in South America, for example. For them, Christianity is still a relatively new religion. It had already existed for 2,000 years and it reached America through the missionaries only after it was discovered by Columbus 500 years ago. So there are still devout Christians in America..

Islam in our day is truly beginning to be awakened. Until now, it was in its incubation period. After 2,000 years of the blossoming of Judaism and after that the 2,000 years of the flourishing of Christianity, Islam’s turn has arrived.
