Answer: Concerning our egoism, this is the most ideal principle. Since you have essential physiological needs, you must fill them because your body belongs not to the human, but to the animal level, and it must be given what it wants.

An animal is ruled by instinct; it will not eat more than it needs, it will not sleep 20 hours a day, and so on. And in us, everything is built on human egoism, and therefore, we are not limited in our desires. We want the entire world. What for? In fact, you ruin yourself in this way. It does not matter, I want it!

This is a problem. Therefore society should help a person find the middle line.

Question: How can we who study Kabbalah get on the same wavelength with Baal HaSulam and hear what he says about the society of the future?

Answer: We should imagine the laws and rules of the society of the future. This is absolute bestowal and love, mutual interaction and help, when a person thinks only about others and sees himself only in this.

Spirituality begins from the fact that I make Tzimtzum (restriction) on myself. This is the restriction of all the thoughts about myself. It means that my desires of a person in the material world for food, sex, and family I must fulfill for my own sake as much as necessary, and the desires for wealth, fame, and knowledge I must use for the benefit of the society.

There are things that shouldn’t be discussed because we are created this way. Someone wants to eat two servings of dinner because his body requires it, and for others something very simple is enough. Someone needs to sleep for ten hours in order to be healthy, and for someone else two hours of sleep is enough in order to be ready to function. In this we can’t treat people like machines.

Even with respect to wealth, fame, and knowledge there are certain qualities of a person that need to be taken into account and satisfied. But this already depends on the level of correction of a person and society.

In principle, the society of the future is built on the need for care and concern only about how much the system of our relationships will be perfect, eternal, infinite, and constantly developing and complementing. How much will I always think about how to strengthen the connection between people: from me to other people and between them.

This is the methodology for the life of the new society: to create as much as possible such a network of mutual connections between us in which all our former egoism will be realized, gradually becoming corrected to altruism.

This is not about the very last stage of correction yet, when the work will be completed and our entire world will rise to the different level. Now we are in the process of our correction, in the process of creating absolutely good connections between us.

We must constantly analyze our abilities in order to act according to these connections, so that people feel themselves covered by common care, a common attitude toward themselves and toward all the levels of the surrounding nature: inanimate, vegetative, and animate. As a mother cares about her child, so each of us must have the same attitude toward nature and society.

Question: Here it is written that each must endeavor to constantly improve the standard of living of the world. Does that mean that if a person doesn’t do this, he will be breaking the law?

Answer: Of course. Each must give the society everything that he can. This is the law of life for the last generation.

Question: Will perfect children be born when humanity gets rid of egoism and becomes perfect?

Answer: Yes, absolutely perfect. The world will become a living world, everyone will do good unto each other, and there will be no evil.

Question: Will the words from Isaiah’s prophecy: “And a wolf shall live with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie with a kid; and a calf and a lion cub and a fatling [shall lie] together, and a small child shall lead them” come true?

Answer: If egoism is fully corrected, how can one harm another?

Question: What will the wolf eat? What will satiate it?

Answer: Bestowing unto others, it will not need any other food.

When the world gradually reaches the end of correction, the details will begin to disappear from our feeling. The levels of the still, vegetative, and animate nature, and man will transcend to a non-material level; because the ego will not be able to exist the way it does anymore, there will be no matter.

Matter is merely an emotional illusion that we are given so that we will do our job and return to the altruistic attitude, to the attribute of love and bestowal.

Answer: It is true. After all, we have already reached this state, and today we see its formation. Baal HaSulam looks forward not linearly, like historians or philosophers, but through the upper spheres, claiming that the revelation of the Creator will become the main goal of the new society. This is exactly what people will be doing because machines will do the rest of the work. This already is starting to manifest today.

Question: Do you like to be alone or surrounded by other people?

Answer: I like to be alone. But I have a goal that is very important to me, and for its sake, I leave my room and come to people. As a result, it turns out that throughout a year, I fly around the globe.

Question: What is the use of being alone?

Answer: Alone I can develop individually: read books and articles. I absorb the sources, work on the material, and analyze the phenomena personally, so that no one interferes.

But beyond that, I have to go outside to communicate with other people because there is a goal that obliges me. The more I give them and help them, the more I can absorb from them. It is written: “I learned from all my students.” In fact, to the extent that I want to convey my knowledge and all the good to them, through the same channel, I get their impressions that teach me.

It turns out that mutual communication begins between us: I teach my students and I learn from them; that is, I become a student. This approach is possible with respect to any area of human life. The time has come when we must communicate with each other in such form; this is called the era of the Messiah, the last generation.

Question: What is the correct relationship between being alone and interconnected with other people?

Answer: Everyone should feel the right relationship individually, as the saying goes: “The soul of man will teach him.” He will feel that he is obliged to go outside, spread his knowledge, help others, and also receive from them. A person realizes that he needs a new kind of connection.

Question: Where will mankind of the 21^st century go: to solitude or to be together?

Answer: In the 21^st century, there will be both. Above all individuals there must be another layer that covers everything, where we are together. That is, there will be complete harmony: loneliness for the sake of unity and unification for the sake of individuality, one for the sake of together and together for the sake of one. Between these concepts there will be no contradiction, only mutual support.

Now we see that these concepts are in contradiction—a man secludes himself and does not want communication. That is, the one principle still collides with the principle of together. But when we get to the critical state in this matter, humanity will start looking for a way out, a method for uniting people, which nature requires of us.

Otherwise, nature is out of balance and we await climatic catastrophes and wars. People will be unable to build families and live together. The face of the generation will become very cruel because it will be incapable of uniting the two principles together: individuality and unity. And then, people will want to learn the methods of unification that Kabbalah offers.

Question: How can a person check what is at the point of equilibrium?

Answer: Balance is a harmony between these two areas in which a person will feel how nature is revealed before him. He will open his eyes to a new dimension. Inside the combination of these two layers: individuality and complete unification, a new world is revealed to him where all opposites unite and replenish each other.

Question: Will a man of the future be an individualist?

Answer: The whole individuality of the future man will be designed to support one man, that is, a common system united as one man. The individuality of each will be expressed in that it will include everyone.

Question: That is, he will not care about personal benefits, but about the benefits of society?

Answer: The personal benefits of each will be inseparable from the benefits of society. We will all feel like one man, as the supreme power that unfolds within all of us, filling us with mutual bestowal and love and revealing the higher reality to us.

The Peak Of Human Development

Question: We know that human development very much depends on the environment. How do we build a correct connection in society so that it influences a person in the best way?

Answer: It is necessary to assemble a group of people who will work according to the method that allows them to connect above their egoism and to explain to them the laws of the society that exist in unity as one man. There they will perform exercises, when each one tries to annul himself with respect to others, or to see himself above others, or to see everyone as completely equal. We should consider unity as the peak of our desired development and imagine what we can achieve by becoming one man with one heart, with one feeling, conceding to each other in everything.

We need to assemble such groups, not from people with similar qualities, in other words, not only from energetic ones or not only from lazy ones; on the contrary, it is necessary to mix everyone together. It is desirable to have different people in the circle who complement each other in all forms.

Why is it so important? The fact is that previously we were connecting with each other “rectilinearly,” according to our inner nature. Therefore, each one was looking for the people who are closer to him in qualities, more similar and suitable, and that “speak the same language.”

However, we want to build groups where “love will cover all crimes.” There, on the contrary, the more differences between us we overcome by connecting above them despite all the inequalities and inconsistencies, the bigger opportunity we have to rise above our material nature. Then we will be able to feel what is happening on “the second floor,” meaning in our connection above natural, inner qualities and habits.

In this way, we can attain the internal system of nature where everyone is different and even opposite and no one is similar to another. And each one should remain the way he is, without bending before the society, but at the same time without ruling over it. The main thing is to find the correct connection between us so that each one would complement others without any dominance from society toward him, or from him toward society.

By reaching such fine integral connection, we really feel ourselves in the unified society as if in a family. And when all the tens will feel themselves as one, ten tens will connect into one ten, where each unit will be equal to ten. And this work will continue in this way until all of humanity becomes as one man.
