Answer: It means that everything I think about, dream about, and do, all that arises in thought and desire, comes only from the aspiration to satisfy the neighbor with absolute fulfillment and to do it for the sake of bringing contentment to the Creator.

Question: In the corporeal world, does this also take place literally?

Answer: I cannot say how it will be realized physically because it depends on how much our world will gradually lose the physical form that we are now experiencing, and will evaporate and turn into purely spiritual matter.

This depends on our sensations. The world will become more spiritual in accordance with our spiritual correction, and we will begin to move from physical sensation to the virtual one.

The change in a person’s nature from egoistic to altruistic happens under the influence of the special force of nature, the upper force that returns to the source (the Torah). However, for this it is necessary to attract such an influence on ourselves.

The method of the wisdom of Kabbalah is designed to attract the Light of correction to us to help us to walk this path until our complete change.

When a person develops new altruistic demands, requests, and relations toward the surrounding world, then it is possible to begin building a new society, country, or world with him, but not before this.

The Bolsheviks tried to do this by force, without correcting a person. However, since people are egoists, everything ended with a big collapse, scandal, and many deaths. It is impossible to force a person to be an altruist; we cannot go against nature, we just must change it.

A society that will be formed when a person is educated in an altruistic manner will understand what it wants to create. It is a constantly developing new formation where people live in the sensation of completely different principles. Unlike the present filling of themselves, their fulfilment will come from bestowal, adhesion, connection, and love for each other and for the entire surrounding nature.

Through these relations with each other and with nature, they will feel completely different forces and connections that are called the upper world. In this new, mutual and altruistic unity, they will feel a force between them that will not press them to use each other like in our world when I look at others and want everything they have.

On the contrary, they will discover the force of bestowal and love between them, and this common force will appear to them, not as our nature, but as the Creator, because they will feel in it an upper degree, upper value, and upper will. In this way, by connecting with each other, they will begin to adhere to this upper force. This is the principle of the existence of the corrected future generation.

However, the Kabbalists warn that if we do not hurry, we will be forced to come to these states by big blows of fate that will force us to give up egoism. It will reveal itself as bringing us misfortunes, and will make us renounce it.

This is like placing poisoned food in front of a terribly hungry person. What can he do? It will be exactly this state that a person will be in before his correction.

He will not be able to use his egoism because he will see to what extent it is killing him. On the other hand, he will not have any opportunity to get up and act outside of egoism because all his thoughts, feelings, inner understanding, habits, and relation to everything, is completely consumeristic and egoistic.

Today, we gradually are beginning to build a new society, educating ourselves in our big international group, and preparing for unity based on the altruistic principles. All of humanity must come to this in the near future.

Question: How will the society of the future be built?

Answer: In order to create a society of the future, we need people of the future. Man of the present is an egoist who instinctively cares only about himself. But not because he is bad or good; this is his nature, like a computer that is programmed by a certain program and works only one way and not another. Therefore, people of our time can build only an appropriate egoistic community.

This is what we are trying to do: to limit ourselves in some ways, to encourage socially useful deeds, to avoid socially harmful actions. This includes all sorts of incentives, prisons, punishments, and so on.

However, all this is aimed at somehow compensating for the evil nature of man, according to which he subconsciously thinks only of his own good. And not even just about the benefits, but about retrieving them at the expense of others.

And if, at the same time, one can harm others and raise oneself, this is even better because he feels he is winning. After all, we measure ourselves with respect to the rest.

The person of the future is the complete opposite to the present person. He thinks only of society, about his development, and about ascent. He understands that everything that is done for society will pertain to him too, but at the same time, he cannot think about himself, only about the environment.

He goes through a system of re-education that changes his nature, and begins to think about others, about society, and about himself only as a performer of something for the benefit of others and the society. That is, he completely changes his internal program.

Question: When reading Baal HaSulam manuscript The Last Generation, we feel that there is a treasure in them—instructions how to build the future society. How can we understand it correctly to study and present it to other people?

Answer: The problem is that Baal HaSulam these manuscripts wrote for himself; they are not systematized enough and repeat themselves in many respects. He was making sketches from time to time, but didn’t bring them to any order.

Rabash said that Baal HaSulam considered his generation still not ready for correction, and therefore he stopped writing. After all, his newspaper was closed and it was forbidden to print his writings.

I understand your desire, but you should also understand me. It is based on Kabbalah; I can say that this is an absolutely practical science! Although it seems like mysticism where some Sefirot, Partzufim, and worlds are supposedly spinning, this is the most practical science! It completely depends on the inner state of the people studying it.

Therefore, I don’t know to what extent we can develop the topic of “The Last Generation.” Perhaps, we can do it in a very limited form since we need to reach this individually by ourselves. We’ll try to do this.

I understand your enthusiasm. Perhaps it can help us. But you need to understand that I get up every morning, which starts for me at midnight, and I begin to study. I come to the audience without knowing at what level the lesson, the discussion, or the questions will be; it doesn’t depend on me.

I can’t reveal more than how I feel the desire of the people, their needs, and their ability to at least partially absorb the material. If they can absorb at least ten percent of what I am saying among them, it means that I can already speak and I invest a hundred percent. Otherwise, I can’t.

Answer: We will be able to satisfy our needs in a new way, but we will still have to work very hard between us in order to establish the right network between us. We will switch from one sort of activity to another.

In the future, machines will sow and reap and perform other types of heavy labor without the participation of humans. Today unmanned aircraft, submarines, patrol ships, without crews etc., are being used. Imagine on the threshold of what changes we are standing. The need for people performing physical labor will disappear.

People will be needed for a totally different kind of work: working on establishing the right mutual connections between us. This is very hard work, and in it they will find a vast field of activity. The fields of art, science, literature, cinema, and educational relationships, all should be focused on this goal.

If you imagine a planet near Earth where we could fly to and create a world according to our new spiritual goal, you would see that we are building everything completely new. This is not a world of skyscrapers and all kinds of office buildings, but a brand new way of life.

Question: You said that the corporeal world doesn’t interest a Kabbalist at all. Can a Kabbalist be indifferent to what is happening in the corporeal world that he is living in temporarily?

Answer: The fact is that the physical world is an absolute consequence of our behavior. And we can change our behavior only with the help of the spiritual world.

Therefore, all of humanity’s attempts to do something in this world are useless. Everything goes back to the way it was before and we keep making the same mistakes and receive the same blows as a result. It would be better if we did nothing.

It is best for a person to engage only in his spiritual development. That is why this world does not interest Kabbalists. It is a kind of a reflection of their advancement.

Baal HaSulam writes that we will become a communist society, not the kind we have heard about from those who adopted the methods of Lenin and Marx, but a truly egalitarian and just society.

This society is not the actual goal, but is simply a reflection of the internal state of people who will continue to live in this world in the future. They will be in an internal state and the relations between them will enable them to establish a society in which people are more equal and closer to each other because the upper Light will impact them more and more and will connect them into a unified structure.

Marx accurately foresaw this; humanity will inevitably return to this. He wrote about a new society and did not refer to Russia or any other country, and he believed that such a society would be established in the future since this is the natural course of our evolution; evolution leads us to that. It turns out that he was right. You don’t need to be a prophet; you but simply need to understand the course of our evolution correctly.
