Levels Of Studying Kabbalah

laitman_219_01Question: What is the difference between the way you teach the wisdom of Kabbalah and all the other ways of studying this wisdom?

Answer: The difference is the purpose for which a person studies the wisdom of Kabbalah. In our organization, we study the wisdom of Kabbalah in order to unite and in order to bring the Creator contentment by the unity between us, to delight Him. This is an altruistic yearning.

There are those who study the wisdom of Kabbalah not in order to delight the Creator, but in order to reveal Him. This is the intermediate phase in our development between the egoistic intention and the altruistic intention.

Much of the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah is as a method of uniting in order to live a better life, to escape from sufferings, or to gain life after death, etc. These are purely egoistic intentions, but it is commendable because it is directed at demanding from the Creator.

Any other aspirations below that have nothing to do at all with the Creator.

Whom Does Europe Choose As Its Enemy?

laitman_438Question: When is the uprising of the Muslims in Europe, or the Europeans’ crusade against the Islamic overtaking of Europe expected?

Answer: In the past Europe opposed Russia. An image of an enemy is vital for every country and even for every person because our nature is pure egoism.

Before Russia, Europe saw the Ottoman Empire as its enemy, and only during the Livonian War (1558-1583) did it choose Russia as its enemy. It makes sense to assume that Russia and Europe will see radical Islam as their common enemy.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, things will be different. Europe and Islam will actually unite against Israel because instinctively they feel that Israel is their common enemy.

Why Am I Unsuccessful In Making More Money?

laitman_628_4Question: Why is it that no matter how much I try with all my might to earn money, I don’t succeed?

Answer: It means that you don’t need more. It seems to you that if you had more money, you would use it more effectively for your needs and for the needs of those close to you, and that currently there isn’t enough for your necessities.

If you needed the money for spiritual development, you would get it. Try to make more effort in spiritual development, it doesn’t require money and you will see how all the rest will begin to change.

Is There Room For The Jews In This World?

Laitman_043Question: Why do I feel, as a Jew, that there is no room for me in this world?

Answer: It is not in vain that Jews feel there is no room for them in this world because their mission is to be the conduits of all of humanity to the upper world. Therefore, there is nowhere in the world they can live a quiet peaceful corporeal life like the other peoples of the world, not even in their own country.

According to their spiritual root, they belong to the upper world. They have fallen from there into this world and they feel that they have a mission to rise to the upper world again ,which is also what all the nations of the world feel subconsciously.

Every Circumstance Is For A Spiritual Purpose

laitman_628_4Question: Why are some of the people destined to be poor and others rich in our world?

Answer: Poverty, wealth, health, illness, everything that the Creator sends, doesn’t depend on us; it is up to us to accept this as a fact.

If you study the wisdom of Kabbalah, then you will understand that all of your characteristics and circumstances in life are very precisely designed for you to carry out your mission, and through mutual connection with friends you will create your soul, a Masach (screen) in which you will feel the Creator.

So when thoughts about how wretched you are dominate you in all kinds of circumstances, you should know that at every given moment the Creator sends you the best possible condition for spiritual advancement.

What Is Gematria?

laitman_541Question: In quantum physics there is an established size (stable, unchangeable, constant size) that is called “the fine-structure constant” which determines the structure of the microcosm and equals – 137.066….

The Gematria of the word “Kabbalah” is equal to 137. Is it possible to determine that the wisdom of Kabbalah is the spiritual root of the structure of the microcosm? If so, then what does a fractional part represent? Are there fractions in Gematria?

Answer: Gematria cannot be considered without attaining the essence of the phenomenon it describes. So I suggest attaining the essence of the phenomenon, comparing them with our corrected nature, and then the knowledge of Gematria will be revealed to us.

Kabbalists Are Not Ascetics

laitman_565_01Question: Were there rich and poor Kabbalists, or is the spiritual way conditional on asceticism?

Answer: The spiritual path does not require asceticism.

In the Talmud, there is a story about two famous Kabbalists who were standing and looking at Jerusalem from a distance. One said to the other, “I have enough money to provide heat for this city for three years.”

That was a lot of money, especially 2,500 years ago. The second answered, “I have so much money that I could provide light for three years.” This suggests there were wealthy people among the Kabbalists.

A Kabbalist must work and earn money. At the same time, there is a prohibition against simply giving it away, except for necessary charity. Therefore, people accumulated a lot of money that was mainly donated for education and knowledge.

Jews are the only people who never have been illiterate. Universal education, the opening of schools, was always promoted and was the main concern of the population.

Answers To Your Questions, Part 133

Laitman_183_04Question: Not long ago I discovered by chance that the last name I have been living with for 44 years is not mine; the father of my grandfather was forced to change it immediately after the revolution. The real name of his family was Gornish. I don’t know how to write the name of this family correctly, but it is believed to be Jewish. Are you familiar with the name, and what does it symbolize and indicate?

Answer: This shouldn’t bother you; there is no connection between the name of a family and a person, just as is the case with his first name. What matters is only the spiritual level on which a person is found, and this depends only on the person.

Question: There is a person in whom I am interested and I would very much want our paths to cross, but unfortunately we miss each other on the same day sometimes by a few minutes. Coincidences like these seem unjust. Is it necessary to consider that if an acquaintance is not happening, this is a sign that it is not meant to be? In your previous answer you said that everything that happens with us at a given moment is the optimal thing for us. What must I do?

Answer: Go and get to know each other! Tell him that he interests you, and if he is the right person, he will not treat your attraction to him lightly….

The Torah Was Not Given To Angels

laitman_545Question: What is the difference between the attitude of the Kabbalists toward the Torah and the attitude of the masses toward the Torah?

Answer: The masses believe that a holy person or an angel is engaged with the Torah, and that if a person actively performs Mitzvot (Commandments), he fulfills the Torah. The sages of Kabbalah believe that the Torah was not given to angels, but to humans. Therefore it is written, “I have created the evil inclination, I have created for it the Torah as a spice, for the light in it reforms it” (Babylonian Talmud, Kiddushin 30b).

Only someone who has an evil inclination, egoism, needs the Torah. This is what Rabash wrote in the article, “The Claim of the Angels” (Articles, Volume 3). In other words, the difference is in the relationship of a person to the Torah: either it was given for performing mechanical actions or for the internal correction of the person’s essence, egoism, and from it, the creation of the soul.

Whence Was The Creator Created?

Laitman_049_01Question: Where did the Creator come from?

Answer: The question “where” indicates that we are in the final phases of our evolution in which time, motion, and space are still important for us.

But they exist only in our world, which is the lowest of all of the other worlds. In all the other worlds there is neither time nor motion, no beginning and no end.
