Look For A Solution On A Different Level

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: It is said you should do everything in your power,” and then it says that we should expect help from Above, what kind of help could it be from Above if it said ,”He gave a law that cannot be broken,” which means that everything is already predetermined?

Answer: We are given great help from Above because we are in a new era. Everyone finds themselves in a state feeling that there is no solution or to be more accurate that there is no solution on the current level. But this is a positive revelation since it will force us to stop looking for the solution on the old level and to ascend to the next level where the solution actually is.

The solution is not to solve the old problem but to see the state from a new perspective. We will see a new goal, a new state, and a totally different encounter: not between one another but between us and the Creator.

Question: So it turns out that “He gave a law that cannot be broken,” has changed now.

Answer: The law has changed since the leadership that descends all the way to our world has changed, we find ourselves on a new, more revealed level.

Question: Can we expect mercy from Above then?

Answer: We will receive according to the way we act, but mercy from Above means that even if I don’t deserve anything on my current level but I ask for it and develop a new desire by the influence of the environment, by self annulment, by subduing myself, then the Light that Reforms comes and fulfills my request.

The mercy from Above is in accordance to my efforts, which means that I have earned it, but I don’t necessarily ask for what I receive since I don’t know what to ask for and what to focus on, and therefore it is called mercy.

The Essential Secret Of The Jews, Part 5

From the book, The Essential Secret of the Jews, M. Brushtein, Chapter 1, Abraham’s Forecast:

“The Whole World Is One Family”

Shut Down the US

What happens if the US were shut down? Just close it. Like a kitchen door. There was a kitchen in which someone was cooking something, and now we face the door that does not even have a door knob.

Indeed, what is the use of it? From the USA. By the way, there is a good excuse. Why, I’m sorry … they flooded the whole world with green bills? Close it and then take and share them.

The problem is that this cannot be done!

Why? Because they don’t want it? Or we cannot? No. There is another reason. If we close the US today, tomorrow I, you, and even they will have nothing to eat, meaning no food. Isn’t the connection between the Ukrainian borscht and America clear? Between brandy and cognac and Uncle Sam?

It’s very simple. Borscht and cognac cost money. Because beets for borscht and grapes for cognac should be grown. And how can they grow if there are no pesticides. A desired chemical is produced, for example, in Asia. They will not take Rubles for their product, and they have never seen the Ukrainian Grivna. It turns out that dollars are necessary for those who live in America, and for those who don’t live in America and never will live there.

Richard Duncan, the author of The Dollar Crisis, wrote that the normal state of the global economy depends on the USA.

There are plenty of scenarios of the aftermath of the cessation of the export of dollars. The world community could respond, for example, in the following way.

Central banks, mortgage banks and other banks stop giving dollars because they do not get any anymore. Now China cannot sell knitwear nor France buy oil.

Desperate optimists offer “bunnies” and Shekels for goods. But the buyer does not share their optimism and politely declines. Euro currency is not enough for everyone, and for a long while, no one has seen gold and doesn’t remember what it looks like.

The population starts to stock up with things you cannot manage without in such a situation: automatic weapons and canned meat.

Stores don’t order goods; manufacturers produce nothing. Ships are in ports; the unemployed roams on the streets.

“Nike” sneakers gather dust in warehouses in Beijing, and coffee turns moldy in the port of Rio de Janeiro. The American farmer is left without pesticides, the French gourmet without condiments, the English unemployed without jeans.

Aircrafts turn rusty; the population empties grocery stores and warehouses. There is no running water; there is no toilet paper, and medicines depleted.

Soldiers sell machine guns and dry rations. Unfortunately, the winter is unusually cold; the summer like never before is sultry and the fall too rainy.

An old woman with a crutch wanders on the streets. Her name is devastation. Wars begin. For the bread, water, fuel, and butter…

Yes, the USA cannot be shut down, as well as allthe rest…

By the way, who is to blame for this global collapse? Isn’t it clear?

A recent survey showed that 63% of Poles believe in the worldwide Jewish conspiracy to seize control over the banking system and SMI.

A People Or A Bunch Of Refugees?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What is to be done in this situation where missiles are flying and a siren is blaring all the time? How must I act so that a rocket will not hit me?

Answer: In order for missiles not to hit us, it is necessary to influence it somehow, and, first of all, it is necessary to scrutinize what kind of a force is sending it. Certainly, everything is sent by the upper force. The wisdom of Kabbalah explains that only one system operates in the world, that is directing us toward correction.

From the days of ancient Babylon, from the days of our father Abraham who began this process, until our day, we are advancing toward correction, and the correction is to connect into a single whole.

Abraham began this correction from a small group of people who called themselves “Israel,” Yashar-El. He taught them how to reach unity, bestowal, and love. For some time, the people of Israel maintained a state of unity like this—during the Egyptian exile, the wandering in the wilderness, the First and Second Temples, until hatred toward each other was discovered in us.

From the level of brotherly love, we fell to unfounded hatred, and since then, we have been living within this hatred, separated in mutual loathing. This state is called “exile,” and we have lived in this state until today.

Close to a hundred years ago, we got the opportunity to return to the land of Israel and to begin living in it again as the people of Israel in its own nation. However, the people of Israel can exist in the land of Israel only on condition that love of others as yourself permeates there: All of Israel are friends connected with mutual guarantee, and it is impossible to do to another what is hateful to you.

However, we are not carrying out these conditions, and so we are not approaching a state in which it is possible to call us the people of Israel living in the land of Israel. In the meantime, this is just a gathering of exiles and refugees who settled in this place thanks to temporary conditions given to us by nature.

We have no merit to be living in this land like this. The Kabbalists wrote about this in every generation, and today we must understand that everything that was written by them truly is being realized in us in our day. Either we accept the conditions upon ourselves according to which the people of Israel must live in the land of Israel—in other words, connected and unified—or we will have no place, not only on the soil of Israel, but no place in the world at all.

For the nations of the world, suppose that, existing like this, we are causing damage to the entire world. We want missiles not to fall on us, that we should be respected all over the world and related to as all other peoples. However, it won’t happen this way, and it will never happen.

We cannot be like everyone else because we must be greater than everyone else because this is how nature is built, that specifically through us, the higher power reaches this world and calms it down, gives it fulfillment. If we become a Light to all the other peoples, the matchmaker that connects the upper force with the whole world, then we can be high and respected. However, if we don’t behave like this, then all kinds of unpleasantness can be expected for us which, in the end, will oblige us to carry out our mission.

Do you want a ceasefire? We have one solution: to be a conduit between the upper force, which is good and benevolent, and the whole world. The wisdom of Kabbalah explains how to implement this. We must actively transform to become “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation”; in other words, to educate ourselves and teach the world how to be bestowers, connectors, loving each other.

No one is to blame, no person in the world, including our most terrible haters who blame us from all directions. We have no one to blame, except ourselves, for our negligence, our laziness, our delay in the correction that we must bring to the world. This is because, beginning from the time of the Ari and on, we are in an era of correction, and it is specifically we who must bring it to the world.

All of the Kabbalists, beginning from the Ari, wrote about our generation, about our day, as being about the revelation of the upper force in the world, and this revelation is done through a simple action: the unification of the people of Israel.

Putting Together The Mosaic Of Humanity

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, Shamati, article 199, “To Every Man Of Israel”: Every man of Israel has an internal point in the heart, which is considered simple faith. This is an inheritance from our fathers, who stood at Mount Sinai. However, it is covered by many Klipot (shells), which are all kinds of dresses of Lo Lishma (not for Her Name), and the shells should be removed. Then his basis will be called “faith alone,” without any support and outside help.

According to a point in the heart, a person is called Israel, which means Yashar El (straight to the Creator). It is the vessels of bestowal that awaken a person to yearn for the Creator while the Klipot pull him in different directions but toward the upper force of faith. The foundation of Israel is the attribute of bestowal that is totally free of any reception for oneself.

Question: How is the inner point of Israel connected to the nation of Israel?

Answer: The vessels were shattered and have been through corrections on the levels of the still, vegetative, and animate nature, and then took on the form of the speaking in our world, until finally the inner spiritual form was gradually revealed in them, an attitude towards the Creator. Everything started from first man (Adam HaRishon) and so he is called the first, because he was the first in our world who took on the form of a man, Adam, meaning that he resembled the Creator. But the direction of Yashar El wasn’t really clarified even later for twenty generations, from Adam to Abraham. It also wasn’t clarified during the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It was only as a result of the work of Jacob (Israel), with the force of Esau (the left line) that was revealed through Pharaoh, that it was possible to understand this inclination. Only then did the descendants of Abraham reach the level of Israel (Yashar El), which means that they established themselves above their desire to receive and above it they managed to focus themselves straight to the Creator.

Thus Abraham’s group reached the level of the receiving of the Torah and further corrections that later enabled them to reach the level of the First Temple, the private end of correction.

However no state is preserved in spirituality, but immediately changes and moves on to the next phase. Therefore immediately afterward, the children of Israel entered the phase of the shattering in order to be incorporated with the Babylonians, with the rest of humanity. The incorporation began with the destruction of the First Temple, when the ten tribes of Israel dispersed among the nations of the world; we still don’t know what happened to them. This will be revealed later on. Since then, there has been an addition of the attribute of bestowal to the nations of the world.

Eventually, only a small group remained after the destruction of the Second Temple and it was exiled. Throughout our history many parts were separated from them. In a visit to a museum in Portugal, for example, I was told that 35% – 40% of the local population has Jewish roots, and it is the same in Spain.

This means that we don’t know what happened to the lost tribes of Israel, but their incorporation in the nations of the world still has its effect. So the Reshimot (spiritual genes) awaken today in many people in different countries, and they feel that they are attracted to the Creator. They are called Israel according to their inclination, according to the inner voice that is awakening in them.

This inclination places them on a spiritual level and creates the spiritual connection with the Creator who spurs them. It makes no difference how they receive the desire that used to belong to those that Abraham had gathered from all over Babylon, since today the same law of evolution, the Light that Reforms, which they draw by the wisdom of Kabbalah, affects all of them. These people in whom the point in the heart was revealed need the wisdom of Kabbalah in order to fulfill it.

There are also people in whom the inner voice doesn’t awaken but they are the descendants of those who had revealed the Creator once and were then shattered. These people are also called Israel, and they have to participate in the process, although this force, the attraction towards the goal of creation, to the Creator, hasn’t been revealed in them yet.

We, on our part, first work with those whose point in the heart has awoken. We unite them and establish the world Bnei Baruch group.

People who call themselves Jews have no idea who they are, what their origin is, and what happens to them. They believe that they are an ordinary nation just like all the others, and are not aware of their mission and their role at all. We also have to work with them and to provide them explanations and draw them to the work of connection.

We also have to work with the nations of the world and to explain to them what their work is because we are in the phases of the end of correction today, when all the vessels have to participate in this process together.

Generally speaking, whoever feels an inclination to correction has to use it for the sake of the collective. In other words, in order to open people’s eyes and to explain to them what humanity needs to do in order to advance towards the predetermined goal, which is everyone’s obligation.

We have two options, two ways to reach the goal: good or bad. This cannot be avoided. Let’s hope that we will manage to teach everyone how to advance along the good way. The Reshimot are revealed every moment and we have to be ready to fulfill them correctly, if we refuse, we will be forced to fulfill them along the bad path. Our choice is to advance either by blows or by our exertion.

The Essential Secret Of The Jews, Part 4

From the book, The Essential Secret of the Jews, M. Brushtein:

Why Now?

Why is it so important today to decide about this strange and difficult to digest law, to understand the nature of anti-Semitism? To be convinced that Abraham discovered the law of nature without an electron microscope and without a particle accelerator, or maybe out of simple curiosity? No. Everything is much more complex.

The prophecies of Abraham began to be realized from the dawn of civilization. They were based upon the laws of nature and he said that sooner or later humanity would have to connect, and today we feel the results of connection on all levels, which are sometimes painful.

As the wisdom of Kabbalah and Abraham predicted, today, at the end of the 20th century we have returned, but already now, around the entire Earth, we have entered into that state of the “small village” and of the “butterfly effect.” The crisis is global, ecological disasters are global, epidemics are spreading, the Internet network is global, and within this network there are social networks which are no less global. The more that we advance we see the more that the world becomes confused within global and integral problems. At the same time, ideas about connection come back again like a boomerang in one form or another and give no rest to humanity. This has already reached the absurdity that the biggest capitalists are talking about social identification and brotherhood.

And here I am entering into the vague and most problematic realm, the realm of values and social identification. In every society there must be particular common values. The values of the market in themselves are unable to fulfill this role. In addition, Abraham established the nation such that according to the program it must first show an example of new social relationships.

According to the example of Israel, it is certainly possible to see how imperative the general education of the population in the area of connection is, and only through that will it be possible to solve all the problems of society and show the whole world an example in this way. Generally we thought: Maybe we will follow Abraham and organize our own research? Essentially it is up to us to find the answers to two questions:

1.  Where do we see the laws of connection in the world around us?

2.  How are the Jews connected to the connection of the whole world?

We are aware that for this kind of research we require a genius like Abraham, and we are not geniuses. Yet together with this, unlike Abraham, we have experience that we have gathered for 3800 years of the development of civilization. Meanwhile, it is not clear how all of this will wind up but it is known that even a negative result is also a result.

The Endless Struggle With The Ego

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe book, Shem MeShmuel, Parshat “Ha’azinu”: “Adam HaRishon said to all of the creatures, ‘Come, let’s bow down and kneel before the Creator’; but due to the error the concept had become corrupted until even the good of that generation didn’t have the possibility of uniting together to serve the Creator. Rather they were isolated individuals. And the correction of this began in the generation of the dispersion which made a division in the human species. This means that the correction began with the gathering and association of people for service to the Creator, beginning from Abraham, peace be upon him.”

The desire to receive must reach correction and resemblance to the characteristic of bestowal, meaning the Creator, whose desire is to benefit the creatures.

The desire to receive will be like the Creator through intention. It cannot change itself and remains a desire for pleasure. But as a result of the process, all of its pleasure is in bestowal. It advances in this direction.

The correction begins from the developed state, from the advanced stage of the extension of the four phases of the Ohr Yashar (Direct Light), when the desire already feels itself, its reception. It is aware of who is receiving, understands that it is the opposite of the giver, and the feeling of this difference awakens shame in it.

And so the correction doesn’t begin immediately. Adam, the first Kabbalist, was the one in whom it awakened. Like us, he asked questions about the meaning of life: “What is all this for? Why? How?”, and he reached discovery of the Upper Light.

The desires were weak and small then, what is called refined. And the corrections were also different than our corrections. Indeed, the desire to receive didn’t just grow, but also divided into many parts. It was not just that the population of Babylon was not large. The number of humans in the world tells us how much the desire for pleasure has grown and requires division so that everyone will have the power to correct his part.

There were ten generations between Adam and Noah, and between Noah and Abraham who led the correction differently, and he wanted to add to this process all of the people in the world who were still concentrated in one area.

As we know, Abraham gathered around him all of the people who wanted to join with him and took them out of Babylon.

For the most part, there are no meaningful differences from ancient days until our day: not in essence, and not in the stages of the process. Of course, each one feels his unique way through his individual Reshimo. But by and large, all of these corrections are called the “service of the Creator,” or work “for the sake of the Creator,” which is incumbent upon us.

And so in the time of Abraham, part of the Babylonians began to separate from the others and called themselves, Yashar-El (straight to the Creator), Israel, according to their inclination, their goal. When they united, they passed through various states of connection on more or less strong levels, stages of analysis, the levels of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

After that they found themselves in the low state of the Egyptian exile, and felt how their ego had again grown and dominated them, just about as it had been in Babylon. But they already related to its dominance differently. They wanted to leave its dominance, and at that time they had almost disappeared, melting into it so much had it swallowed them into itself.

This was a real danger, the “49 Gates of Impurity,” a state almost without a solution. And in spite of it all, from their last energy, with the help of the force among them called “Moses,” they succeeded in darkness, under a succession of blows, to awaken both “in good” and “in bad,” and flee from the dominance of the ego, rising above it.

This was called the “exodus from Egypt”—they rose above the ego and were drawn towards development. However, the ego didn’t disappear, but they controlled it themselves.

This control of the ego and even the ability to use it correctly for the sake of bestowal is called “Torah.” The Egyptian exile, the descent into the abyss of narcissism that was discovered, ultimately provided them with this ability.

And after this, the period of the wilderness began, where they adjusted the ego and corrected it with bestowal for the sake of bestowal, filling it with Hafetz Hesed (delighting in mercy). Even though they didn’t have anything, since they were in a wasteland, they passed from desire to desire and each time discovered the evil and corrected it.

The Torah tells us about this period and explains to us how it is necessary to correct the ego, to rise above it, and to control it. But this is control only on the first level: bestowal for the sake of bestowal.

And so, with the ascent of Malchut to Bina, after “forty years in the wilderness,” we were finally ready to correct Malchut. This was already the level called the “entrance into the land of Israel.” We continued on with corrections and wars, conquering the land, until the people of Israel dominated the land of Israel.

But with this the correction wasn’t finished. Only its first stage was finished, which had continued from Abraham until the building of the First Temple (Beit HaMikdash). This was the correction of only those people who had gone out from Babylon, a small part of humanity. But the general correction that Adam HaRishon had begun had not been realized.

So in order to continue the process, the group of Abraham that had become the people of Israel, had to be broken up and enter into contact, into connection, with all of the rest of these desires, these parts of humanity, which are called the “seventy nations of the world.” Meanwhile, they had been scattered to all places on Earth; in other words, from being controlled by the ego, they passed to all kinds of control, they created religions and faiths, and awakened various forces that acted upon them.

And so the nation of Israel not only had to fall from its level, but also had to be scattered among all the peoples, among all the forces, the controls and the methods, to be integrated with them and integrated in them.

The destruction of the Second Temple symbolizes the final fall of the people of Israel into unfounded hatred that was worse than among all the nations of the world, because they just about lost the connection between them, the characteristic of the people of Israel and belonging to the land of Israel. Indeed, only their general orientation, only their need to make the correction for the sake of the future, is what held them together in some form.

After that, the integration with the world was finished, and now the awakening again began. First of all, the people of Israel entered the land of Israel. After this they corrected themselves from being a small group to all of the people dwelling in Zion, after that to the people of Israel scattered throughout the Diaspora, and after that gradually the whole world.

Everything happens gradually, according to the refinement of the vessels, desires, and with the integration of the Reshimot that remained from the time of the shattering. In fact, there is nobody who is greater and nobody who is less here. We see this within the material only according to the intensity of the desire to receive and the Reshimot that are awakened within it.

They are under the influence of the Light that awakens them accordingly. And all of the corrections are sustained from the lightest correction to the heaviest correction. That is how development happens.

Put Judges and Guards At All The Gates

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In a corrected society when someone harms me must there be a judge to whom I can turn with my complaint?

Answer: No, I must sit together with the one who harmed me and scrutinize the incident. It might be necessary to invite additional people so we will have ten people in a circle. The problem is not that he did something bad to me; rather it is that we have done general harm to everyone.

The dispute between us is not a private problem between me and you. Through it we have harmed the entire society and so it is up to us to solve it in a general way, with the participation of the society. There is nothing to be ashamed of and hide here. It is very important to scrutinize together with everyone how we can correct this defect. You did not hurt me personally; rather through me you hurt the entire society. This approach is absolutely different from that which exists today. So all of us must scrutinize what the damage is, why this happened, and correct it together.

Basically, it is up to us to acknowledge that we are guilty that you committed a transgression. This is because for us as a society there wasn’t a strong enough influence to keep you on the right track. This means that the person who committed the transgression is not guilty; rather first of all the society, his environment is guilty of not investing enough in him and making it possible for him to behave this way. This is a much more global problem than how it seems to us today.

Question: In a circumstance like this, what is the role of the judge?

Answer: The judge only helps us to reach clarification; he explains to us that the problem is not in an isolated person, rather in his environment. The person is a product of his environment. He is born with us and was always among us. We are familiar with him, where he studies, his workplace, his family. So what happened all of a sudden that we didn’t succeed in holding him to higher morality? Why did he suddenly fall? Apparently he lost the connection with us, and so we are to blame!

Question: It is logical that the judgment is not only in regard to the perpetrator, but the entire society?

Answer: As is understood, the judgment is not in regard to him at all. He is a product of the society, so all blame is on the environment.

Question: If so, must we scrutinize all of the minor controversies here and there between one person and another together with the entire society from morning to night?

Answer: It could be that this is so. But through this all of us advance. We discover the places where we have not worked enough on the connection between us making it possible for us to influence each other. In this way the entire society will rise. Newer and newer problems will be revealed, but they will strengthen the unity in a society all the time until it becomes like“one person with one heart.

Question: This is completely different from our attitude today where there is the accused and the accusers. Today the court determines who is right and who is to blame. And in a corrected society, individual guilt doesn’t exist at all and all scrutiny happens on the societal level?

Answer: Indeed even today the perpetrator asks the court for a pardon, justifying himself by saying that he grew up without parents, outside of the home, in a bad environment, was expelled from school, and lacks education. He also comes with claims against the society.

But we are not ready to hear these claims; instead we simply send him to prison for ten years. But maybe it is worthwhile to listen, could it be that he is justified? But the society is not ready to hear this.

The court system in the corrected society is found in the hands of the people and the nation judges itself. Through this it rises all the time. This is what meant, (Deuteronomy 16:18) “You shall set up judges and law enforcement officials for yourself in all your cities….”

The Paradox of Love

And in spite of it all, what did Abraham mean by the words, “Love your neighbor as yourself”?

We want to be convinced that we are not making an elephant out of a fly. It could be that one doesn’t have to search for any law of nature. It is simply necessary to follow this egoistic principle and everyone will be happy. It is simply necessary to be more diligent and that’s it.

The problem is that it is fundamentally impossible to maintain the Mitzvah (precept) of Abraham. It was impossible then, when it appeared, it was impossible after that, and it is impossible even now. Can you convince yourselves that it is possible?

“…we were commanded: “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” The word “thyself” tells us, love your neighbor to the same extent you love yourself, not one bit less. In other words, you must constantly and vigilantly satisfy the needs of every person in the Israeli nation, no less than you are always vigilant to satisfy your own needs.” (From the book, Matan Torah (The Giving of the Torah)”).

Isn’t this enough? Good, so let’s add another quotation from that source.

“…when sometimes he has but one pillow, if he lies on it himself and does not give it to his slave, he does not observe ‘because he is happy with thee,’ for he is lying on a pillow and the slave, on the ground. And if he does not lie on it, and does not give it to the slave, as well, it is Sodomite rule.”

It is found that unwillingly he must give it over to his slave. And the master himself lies on the ground.

It is difficult to believe that an optimistic person could be found who would begin to convince someone to be ready to carry out this Mitzvah fully. This is especially so when talking about an entire people. This amounts to a paradox. On the one hand, we are not ready to maintain the Mitzvah, “Love your neighbor as yourself”; whereas on the other hand, somehow this was successful for the Jewish people. There was a time….

Connect And You Will Succeed

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, Shamati #144 “There Is A Certain People”: Haman said that in his view, we will succeed in destroying the Jews because they are separated from one another; hence, our force against them will certainly prevail, as it causes separation between man and God. And the Creator will not help them anyway, since they are separated from Him. This is why Mordecai went to correct that flaw, as it is explained in the verse, “the Jews gathered,” etc., “to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life.” This means that they had saved themselves by uniting.

When the Jews in Persia were under the threat of destruction, they didn’t go to the king to complain about Haman and didn’t try to prove that he was wrong. The Jews didn’t go to the public either in order to disseminate and to prove to them that they are just.

Instead, they united together, and thus saved themselves. Although their physical power wasn’t great, the spiritual power of their connection was immense. It is actually the unity, becoming one, that leads to victory, fulfills the dissemination, and does everything necessary.

It turns out that our dissemination is necessary among the Jewish people first. “Connect” said queen Esther to her people “and then we will succeed.”

Baal HaSulam, “Introduction to The Book of Zohar,” Item 67:

When a person from Israel enhances and dignifies one’s internality, which is the Israel in that person, over the externality, which are the nations of the world in him, that is, when one dedicates the majority of one’s efforts to enhance and exalt one’s internality, to benefit one’s soul, and gives minor efforts, the mere necessity, to sustain the nations of the world in him, meaning the bodily needs, as it is written (Avot, 1), “Make your Torah permanent and your labor temporary,” by so doing one makes the Children of Israel soar upwards in the internality and externality of the world as well, and the nations of the world, which are the externality, recognize and acknowledge the value of the children of Israel.

And if, God forbid, it is to the contrary, and an individual from Israel enhances and appreciates one’s externality, which is the nations of the world in him, more than the inner Israel in him, as it is written (Deuteronomy 28), “The stranger that is in the midst of thee,” meaning the externality in that person rises and soars, and you yourself, the internality, the Israel in you, plunges down. With these actions, one causes the externality of the world in general—the nations of the world—to soar ever higher and overcome Israel, degrading them to the ground, and the Children of Israel, the internality in the world, to plunge deep down.

The way the forces are arranged stems from the picture of reality, and so we should understand that everything depends on us. First we have to worry about connection and unity among the Bnei Baruch world group as the inner part of Israel. Then we have to worry about the external Israel and do everything in our power to unite the Jewish people.

Only then will we summon the correction in the world, only if we correct our unity and not the world. This is what we should engage in and this is what our dissemination should be about.

Thus we bring the whole world the message of connection according to the method of the wisdom of Kabbalah, but since it also helps us connect, by that we correct the world. The world is corrected by our connection. We disseminate our message to the public, we are incorporated in humanity, and this helps the internal connection among us, which actually corrects the world.

Destruction Or Correction?

Dr. Michael LaitmanEvery action that is not directed towards unity drills a hole in the collective boat. Actions like these are natural for the nations of the world since they are found in the lower part of the collective soul (below the Chazeh [chest]). In contrast to this, through them Israel causes great damage to itself and to the entire collective soul, because it is in its upper half (above the Chazeh).

So both destruction and correction that are carried out by the people of Israel determine the state of the whole world. And so the people of Israel must relate with great responsibility to their deeds in our world. And someone who belongs to Israel in the spiritual sense, meaning those who learn and want to realize the method of connection, must be even more careful with their actions.

The closer a person is to the center, to realization of the method of connection, the greater is the correction or harm that he can cause.
