Question: If the fuel gauge needle in a car goes below the red line, the car has run out of gas and the car stops. Has humanity similarly crossed the red line of the balance with nature, which has caused the spread of the Ebola virus?

Answer: The Kabbalists already said a hundred years ago that we are in a situation like this, that we must begin to think about the general balance of the Earth, and first and foremost, that of human society.

The lack of balance began at the end of the 19^th century. This is even though we still didn’t think then that the world was becoming so global and mutually connected. We were never engaged in the world as a single system in which everyone is mutually connected. It will not help me if I would be stronger and richer than the rest. Everything should be calculated based on the entire great human family.

Kabbalists write that the whole world has become one family. And this means that I must be concerned for everyone, like in a family. Already at the beginning of the 20^th century it was necessary to be concerned about this, that on the Earth there would be one government, one health department, and all of the other governmental agencies.

All of these governmental agencies and the world government must exist in order to take care of the whole world as a single family, and to teach all of us egoists how to live within it.

Just as parents educate their children and don’t let brothers fight with each other; the whole of humanity, too, in a natural way, quarrels with itself, but the government, like a concerned parent, represses these conflicts and balances the situation as much as possible: sometimes with a shout, sometimes with a light spanking, and sometimes with a candy.

The main thing is to teach people to gradually advance them towards conscious balance. We have a need for this kind of only for this purpose, not for anything else.

The necessity for this kind of government was awakened at least a hundred years ago, but we are late in creating it. We don’t understand what is required of us. We exist in a single system that links all of the governments and all of the nations with their borders and protectionism. This is because no nation wants to let go of its interests and each one holds onto its chair.

So whose fault is it that our world doesn’t live as one family? It is the governments! First of all, they are interested in mutual separation and political games so that there will be enough power, money, and control in their possession. For this they maintain the international conflicts in which each one shows its ego and demonstrates its importance.

All of the peoples suffer while the governments celebrate. We must create a united nations, but not as it exists today, composed of egoistic governments that conduct political games and empty talk.

There must be one government in the world that will teach everyone how to unite according to the laws of “one family,” how to balance themselves and attain mutual cooperation and equality all around the Earth. Then there won’t be any Ebola or any other problems.

But as long as we are not doing this, we will suffer just as the prophets described would happen in the end of days; we will endure not only epidemics, but also other blows from the unbalanced system that we ourselves have brought into imbalance.

Reference: Disturbing headlines in the media tell of a serious epidemic of Ebola rapidly spreading in several countries in Africa. Currently, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are about 4,500 deaths and around 9,000 infected and carriers.

A WHO internal document suggests that attempts to halt the pandemic have failed. The whole world is concerned with what is happening. Of course, a variety of Hollywood movies come to mind, including Virus, filmed almost 20 years ago; its plot is based on the epidemic of Ebola.

In fact, the first outbreak of Ebola was noted in 1976, and since then until 2013 about 1,700 people have died from the disease. Thus, the virus itself is not new, but over the years, it has undergone mutations and shows a very high mortality rate.

Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with bodily fluids of the affected. Its primary symptoms are fever, headaches, dizziness, and other symptoms often associated with influenza.

Over time, the symptoms are aggravated: there is external and internal bleeding, as well as some other characteristic effects. Gradually, the body begins to fatally bleed, and thus the second name of the disease is hemorrhagic fever. The incubation period ranges from 2 to 21 days, a relatively short period.

Meanwhile, the UN has declared the current epidemic as a threat to peace and security.

Question: In the prism of the laws of nature and the direction of the processes going on in it, what exactly creates such an epidemic that caught both victims and scientists off guard?

Answer: Let’s view the picture from the perspective of Kabbalah. We are in a strict natural system, and the imbalance that we cause in it, especially in recent years, brings about phenomena of this kind.

Of course, epidemics occurred in the past. Some of them literally “mowed down” populations. But, anyway, viruses and bacteria, cells and organs, are all elements of the same system. We think that Africa is far away, that we have no connection to it, but in fact we are all parts of a whole.

That is why true medicine would take care to examine the general system and understand how it could be brought back to balance. After all, we systematically cause shifts in it and constantly disturb the balance, which leads to the disintegration of the subsystems and good connections, as well as the creation of new, distorted ties, generating unfit cells.

We would like to erase harmful microbes from our lives. But for microbes, the human body is just a habitat. We are a “biological reservoir” for them in which they can live and multiply.

People drink a bottle of yogurt in the morning with dozens of billions of beneficial bacteria and do not even realize that their body is a “home” for a much greater number of “tenants.”

It turns out that we live in a huge system, where the distance is not so important, where no body is isolated from the community. This is a giant organism in which there are various kinds of beings, both beneficial and harmful to our health.

This system is constantly balancing itself, equalizing differences, and our task is to bring it to a true equilibrium where helpful, friendly microbes are given the opportunity to be in equilibrium with the harmful, pathogenic ones.

Conversely, if we break the balance, even if it is in favor of “friends,” they turn into “enemies.” To balance the “distortion,” they have to turn part of themselves into the opposite.

For example, only fighting against predators and pests brings even greater damage because we disturb the balance of the overall ecosystem. At the turn of the 1960s, China initiated pest control, in particular with sparrows, destroying crops.

Within a year, several million birds were killed, as a result, caterpillars and locusts burgeoned and yields declined so much that there was a famine that killed tens of millions of people.

Thus, there are no “good” and “bad” bacteria or viruses. Our health is based on the equilibrium between them.

Meanwhile, we ourselves occupy the top level in the pyramid of the still, vegetative, animate, and human nature. And our problem is how here, at the top, can we create a balance among ourselves? If we would, equilibrium would then descend from the highest level of the hierarchy to all other levels and would adjust all the connections. That’s right, from top to bottom the entire system is ordered.

Therefore, it all depends on people. I don’t want to appear as a fortune teller or a moralist, but if we, as a society, would try to maintain a balance among each other, if we would introduce into the social environment a little more equality, a little more warmth, closeness, and mutual aid, it would have a beneficial impact on the lower levels of the total hierarchy, down to the still nature, including terrestrial and aquatic fauna and flora and the planet itself with its volcanoes, hurricanes, floods and other disasters. Thanks to us, the world would be eventually at rest.

After all, the human being occupies the top level in evolutionary development. In particular, social human relations today cause a total imbalance.

In this perspective, the essence of the problem is not Ebola and other troubles that threaten us. Many diseases that were rampant in the Middle Ages seemed to have vanished, but in reality they haven’t.

If we continue to exacerbate social imbalances, if we continue to break all the good relations among each other, up to the complete rejection of unity and balance, then by “our efforts” forgotten diseases and misfortunes will return. The current protection from them is not wholly a panacea, and it will turn out that there is no remedy.

Indeed, we are continuing our detrimental development and it is clear that we are drawn into a protracted, interminable crisis. As a consequence, we cause problems, diseases, and other manifestations of imbalance but on another level, on the other loop. Therefore, the old means and medications will not help.

The time has come to reflect and understand that the only medicine that can protect and safeguard us all is in human society’s balance. Only by positive relations on the top level of this system, which is under our control, will allow us to ensure our health.

Question: The Ebola epidemic is threatening the world by putting humanity on the borderline between life and death. Where does the virus come from and what can we do to stop it?

Answer: The Ebola epidemic has attracted the attention of the whole world, but in fact there are many problems we have to deal with which are just as serious.

All the problems stem from the imbalance in human society. It is difficult to distinguish which of the problems that we are causing bring about wars and which bring about diseases, tsunamis, or volcanic eruptions.

There are many natural factors that can be more harmful to humanity than the Ebola virus. Experts, for example, predict a great volcanic eruption in California. Volcanic activity is constantly growing there and an eruption is very near.

If that happens, the ash could cover the whole sky to such an extent that we would not be able to see the sun. The temperature would drop to minus 50 degrees Celsius or even minus 70 degrees. It is unclear how we would be able to survive in such conditions.

We are in one system and its imbalance has reached a critical red line, which evokes the negative forces in nature. Everything depends on the level and type of imbalance that we summon. No one is punishing us on purpose in this way, and it is actually the natural response of the system. If the system is out of balance, it hits us.

We may, however, call it punishment, since on earlier levels in the past, we developed by blows that pushed us forward. The Ice Age is such an example. Baal HaSulam says that when the planet Earth was formed, it went through several phases of alternating heating and cooling and each period lasted for about thirty million years until the crust of the earth upon which life could exist was created on top of this giant volcano.

There have always been extreme processes on the surface of the earth, but they have quieted down and brought the earth to a state of balance so that life forms could appear. The temperature difference between winter and summer is about 20 degrees at the most, which is a negligible difference compared to what happened on this planet before it reached a balanced state when the temperature would rise to 2,000 degrees and drop to 50 or 200 degrees below zero.

Balance was achieved in certain conditions in which we can exist. Protein life can exist thanks to a temperature balance on earth, in the oceans, and on land.

As man developed, he rose above this whole system. All parts of nature are connected to one system: the atmosphere, the oceans, and the continents. The earth doesn’t exist according to the laws of states and nations that are divided by borders but as one planet with one ecology and general, collective, natural processes. People living on this planet today upset the balance.

This system has no intention of punishing us, but it reacts according to our actions, so we receive what we deserve from it. Of course it beats us for upsetting the balance on our human level. As a negative factor causing disequilibrium, humanity receives a counterstrike.

Question: Our sick friend becomes a trigger so that we will unite in a connected network of webs. What can become a trigger like this in everyday life when we are immersed in learning and even in active dissemination, this all gradually becomes routine?

Answer: We must be connected between us all the time and understand that it is specifically through this that we feel the web of connection. Our points that are found in the connections of this system are compulsory only so that we can nullify ourselves for the sake of the entire network of webs, for the sake of our unity.

This is because the web is the characteristic of bestowal, and the connections (the small intersections) we are in are our egoistic spheres. So, all of the work is directed outside of us, which means that it is realized in the webs themselves.

How can we awaken ourselves? As a general rule, the most fruitful and useful means is dissemination. You then invite uncorrected and completely new desires upon yourself and try to work for their sake.

Imagine that when you are in these webs, you are linked with a few more “links” that are working incorrectly, swallowing energy, without giving it to others, are in confused states. You try to take their desires and intentions, and somehow adjust, correct, and help them approach the awareness of their mission.

With this, you are carrying out useful work for the entire system. Through your participation, you apparently balance the incorrect work of the rest of the parts and create additional links between you and between those people whom you connected to yourself.

So, I always say that our dissemination is the greatest drive and incentive for correction of the network.

Question: Now we all are rallying around a sick friend. This is evident: thousands of people, men and women thinking and worrying about him. Together with this external expression there is also great internal work that is similar to a prayer in a way because it is very easy for us to hold on to this thought.

Answer: We affect the system we are in by our desires and our intention. All of mankind, everything that is on this planet and beyond it in different forms are elements of this system.

Thus we insert a special signal into it that is focused on one of the elements returning to its minimal balanced human existence. We affect the system this way so that it will have a positive effect on our sick friend. This is a very strong signal. If we keep on working this way, we will see an amazing outcome.

We don’t know and are not aware of the whole system, its plan, and its intentions. We don’t know each one’s fate, meaning each one’s role in this system, but generally speaking, we have to affect it as much as we can so that our friend will be equal to us.

We have to feel the problems of all the others and totally annul them so that we will have no more corporeal or spiritual problems other than attaining complete harmony among us since we are the only ones who are disturbing the harmony of the whole system. This is the reason that we have to summon this state in which the influence of the upper force that operates it is clearly revealed.

The system itself cannot reveal the upper force in it since we are its corrupt element. We have to spur the positive forces that will affect and correct us (in this case, our friend) to match the general harmony. Then we will feel the nourishing upper force in this system that evokes and directs it (the Creator). If we bring the whole system to the state in which the Creator is revealed, then through it we will be able to be in full connection with Him.

Thus our friend is an element that invokes us so that we will connect more strongly among us so that our desires and demands of the Creator, of the whole system, will be collective, identical, and accurately focused. Thus through him we learn how to be connected.

I hope that eventually we will see that he fully recovers. It depends only on our efforts.

Let’s agree for a moment that it is the law. Then, what can we do with such a terrible disease like cancer? It is known that cancer cells, aggressors, act in the exact opposite way, and that social sentiments are foreign to them.

Scientific studies of the behavior of normal and cancerous cells in an artificial environment have shown that the latter, unlike the normal cells, become socially unmanageable. This means that cancer cells fail to respond to the vital signals from cell-partners and begin to behave like anti-social individuals. (Eugene N. Panov, Escape from Loneliness)

The easiest way to say it is that the exception proves the rule. However, this is not our case. It turns out that cancer cells are not less, but perhaps more social than the injured party.

Eshel Ben-Jacob, physicist at Rice University in Houston states: Cancer is a sophisticated enemy. Zubritskaya, Federal University): The entire psychiatric community all over the world is saying that now we are entering into an era of borderline neuropsychiatric conditions. According to the statistics of the World Health Organization, the number of people who require psychological treatment is growing more rapidly than the number of patients with cardiovascular and cancerous diseases.

Depression is a mental disorder characterized by a low mood with a pessimistic self-esteem, the inhibition of intellectual and motor activity, and diminished motivation. In the United States, around 15 million people are suffering from this illness. The mechanisms of depression are still unknown.

Antidepressants were produced 50 years ago. In the past depression was treated with herbal infusions like Duda or Hellebore. Pythagoras recommended listening to music. The media call depression a 21^st century plague. In 2020 depression will be first among all illnesses.

A state of depression can continue for months, and prolonged depression for years. One of the symptoms of depression is hopelessness, it seems that it will go on forever, and the future is portrayed in very dark colors.

There are plenty of reasons for depression: familial problems, conflicts at work, lack of faith in the future, health problems, and crucial age groups.

Depression is not a sign of weakness of character, this is a real illness that requires medical intervention, as depression is a disturbance in the biochemical processes of the body.

Comment: Lack of egoistic fulfillment is the specific cause of all depression, as well as all diseases. So the number of patients with this disease will grow and the treatment will continue to be less effective until millions of people will be cut off from life. Then they will agree to listen to the advice that the wisdom of Kabbalah gives: how to be filled with Light!

The Torah, “Leviticus” (Tazria), 13:1-13:3: And the Lord spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying: When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it become in the skin of his flesh the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests. And the priest shall look upon the plague in the skin of the flesh; and if the hair in the plague be turned white, and the appearance of the plague be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is the plague of leprosy; and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

A priest (Cohen) is a doctor and he is the level of the upper Light, the Light of Hochma. A person should bring himself to the level of the priest, to rise to the level of the Light of Hochma and then he will see whether there are any flaws in his egoistic desire, or rather vapors of decomposition (miasmas) that are on the level of leprosy.

All the miasmas of the ego that can be cured are emphasized and highlighted by the upper Light and it is actually thanks to their correction that a person ascends and is healed. So only on the level of the priest one can determine if his soul is healthy with the help of the upper Light.

Skin is the most external and the heaviest level of the ego. We know that skin diseases are usually impossible to cure since it is through the skin that the body extracts the toxins of the body. Thanks to its power of self-preservation and the ability to sustain an internal homeostasis, the body tries to get rid of the toxins in it and to extract all the filth through the skin.

A person’s body is made up of a mind, bones, tendons, flesh, and skin. The skin is an organ that exists separately and cannot be corrected since all the toxins and the waste materials from all the internal states are extracted through it.

We, however, attribute everything to nerves. If I have a rash on the skin I am told that it is because I am nervous. What is the connection between the two? It is the skin that suffers.

Question: What is the meaning of “scab or a bright spot shall have the skin of his flesh a rising?”

Answer: It is the revelation of the ego either in making it grow or the opposite in reducing it. When a person doesn’t make the greatest efforts in the right direction, or in other words when you either do too much or don’t do enough with your desires, it is the lack of a Masach (screen) for more or for less.

It is a very complex system, hair “Se-arot” (from Hebrew word meaning “raging”) symbolize a persons’ grudge and anger regarding his egoistic desires to reveal the Creator.

It says: “if the hair in the plague be turned white, and the appearance of the plague be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is the plague of leprosy.” This means that the egoistic desires are so great that they lose all color: What exactly should they yearn for, what should they correct? They descend to a level in which they only want everything for themselves.

In our world the skin is the protective sheath of the body. “… and the appearance of the plague be deeper than the skin of his flesh,” symbolizes that on this level the skin cannot serve as an external protective shield.

From a Kabbalistic perspective the skin is the very last Aviut (thickness), the depth of the desire, but if we correct it, we will be able to correct all the other symptoms.

There are alternative medicine doctors who first examine the patient’s skin, then feel how it breathes and what it smells like, etc. This is a very serious diagnosis.

Question: If we are all connected by one integral system, incorporated in one another, then can my illness be clarified in my own prison?

Answer: Of course, we are all ill for someone, but we just don’t know for who, why and how.

What is more, if your leg hurts, let’s disconnect it from the head that is the center of feeling the pain and you will not feel the pain anymore, even if your leg is cut off. Everything is felt in the head, not in the other parts of the body.

A person is never ill for himself, he may feel a pain in his body, but actually this is how the feeling of the bad connection between him and others is revealed.

Question: The Torah says that in such cases a person should turn to the priest. If I have a wound, I shouldn’t go to the doctor but to the priest.

Answer: The priest looks at me and says: “what have you violated my friend? Something is wrong here!”

This means that he sees some imbalance. It is like allopathy, not folk medicine but natural medicine that is energetically closed in its thought and structure according to the inner mutual connection and the flow of forces. A human body includes the whole universe in it.

A real healer (a priest) understands all that. A priest is the uppermost level of a person’s development, and so he can see all the discrepancies in a person and identify what level they are on and how to heal them.

The healing begins by isolating the patient from others because it is impossible to correct his connection with the rest of the camp, with the rest of the group of people if he is in such a poor, low condition.

Seven days, Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, and Yesod, is the total disconnection from people during which the isolated area is corrected by the Masach (screen), a force. Then he can go back to the right connection with others. This is how the root of the illness is removed and everything is healed.

This is the only way to heal all the problems from the smallest, to the essence, which are a result of nerves. That’s all there is. Correct the mutual relations between people and you will see that all the illnesses will totally disappear on their own! This repeats on all the levels, some on the level of the nerves, and some enter the blood system, some the lymph system, etc. until the whole body is destroyed.

All this is the reflection, the replica of the external mutual relations. Science is already speaking about this.

The discovery of the next level requires a rejection of those desires that we cannot correct. And they leave us in the form of slag: plague, leprosy, and all that is spilled out. In general, knowledgeable doctors understand that everything that is shed from the body of a person is for his own good and it must be expelled. But most doctors simply heal people.

Comment: But this is talking about a Cohen (priest) here, not a doctor.

Answer: A Cohen is a doctor at the highest level.

All diseases appear from a violation of the animal systems when we cannot hold onto the right balance. For balance constitutes a guarantee for health, for longevity, for success on all levels: moral, material, physical, traditional, familial, cultural, and social.

Only one force exists in creation, and we must work by regarding it with balance on all of our levels. But if the levels of the still, vegetative, and animate are found in balance with it, because they are guided by it instinctively, the level of man is not. In his departure from balance, man violates the balance of all the rest of the parts of nature.

This happens not only because he interacts with them physically, but simply because he is found with them in one single integral system. Even our thoughts and emotions and our mutual relationships influence the environment that surrounds us.

So it follows, whether we want it or not, each one of us and all of us together are responsible for all of nature. Essentially all are together, because our incompatibility causes incompatibility between humanity and all of that nature that surrounds us like an envelope. The main thing is that this is an incompatibility with that power that manages both nature and us.

But this power manages us with particular patience, giving us some kind of freedom, so that in the framework of this freedom we determine our balance with it, and we find the homeostatic formula in any of our states. Only in this way do we balance nature as well as all of us in relation to it.

To the degree that balance is attained, this external force begins to be felt within us and among us and we rise to the next level of development called Adam, meaning, Domeh (similar) to the only power of nature, which is called Creator.
