Men And Women: Let’s Consider Nature

Laitman_023Question: I am concerned about the interaction between the male and the female parts of my group. The men have no idea how the women in the group can help the men.

Can I try to work with the men and women in a workshop in order to discuss these matters with them?

Answer: The interaction between men and women, especially in workshops, will lead to distractions associated with sex. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend that except for neccesary technical work.

You can try and you will immediately discover the interference that will nullify all that is spiritual in the group.

This is our nature and we have to take it into account because our success is actually in becoming free of the feelings and the fillings to aspiring for the revelation of the upper network of mutual actions.

Inanimate Level – The Beginning Of Everything

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, “The Introduction to The Book of Zohar,” item 51: Thus, as we have said, if one purifies the still part of his will to receive, he is rewarded with a Partzuf of Nefesh of Assiya, and ascends and clothes the Sefira of Malchut of Assiya

This means that he will certainly be granted the permanent purification of the still part, in a way that he will not turn back to folly.

Question: What is the inanimate level in us?

Answer: In each level we contain all five vessels of KHB ZON, and all five Lights of NRNHY, therefore we need to actualize all forms of the work.

But in the world of Assiya, I work constantly only with the Light of Nefesh, here it is important for me, and all the vessels and the Lights that I work with are meant only to support the Light of Nefesh, so it will stabilize itself permanently in the Kli of Keter.

Question: And this still part remains with me until the end of correction (Gmar Tikkun)?

Answer: Of course, in spirituality nothing disappears.

Question: What is the role of the still?

Answer: The role of the level of still in spirituality is the same role as the nature of still in our world. Everything comes from it.

Question: Still, it means that something is not moving. What is its importance?

Answer: Try internally not to budge, despite of all the exterior influences, in spite of everything that happens to you.

Question: Is it connected to self-annulment?

Answer: Of course. By annulment toward the friends you build the inanimate spiritual level. It depends on your work in the scale of your current desires; in the next degree the still will become vegetative and then animate, etc. In general, the desires are categorized according to my ability to work with them. And if I can actualize some desire in the inanimate level, only in the simplist manner, then I activate it like that.

Later through the group I receive forces from the Upper Light, and the same desire becomes the level of vegetative. It allows me to work with it in a more qualitative form—now I cannot even grow and produce offspring.

Anyway, everything begins with the inanimate level, and finally reaches Ein Sof (Inifiinty) until the Light of Yechida.

Cherish The Friends, No Matter What

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In the workshops, I try to carry out all the rules, to raise the friends in my eyes, but at some point very negative thoughts come about stupidity and worthlessness. How should I deal with such manifestations of egoism?

Answer: In spite of everything, try to cherish your great friends. In response to these attempts, the Light that Reforms will come. And when it shines, you will see that they really are great.

This requires inner work. I look at the friends: they came to the lesson at night, then they go to work, they have families and children, each has many problems, everyone is tired, exhausted, run down at the end of the week.

Therefore, I appreciate my friends very much. And here I see that I am far from their level of effort. Each of them puts forth enormous extraordinary effort. How can I, not respect them after all this?  It is only with them that I will be able to sail to the spiritual shores, to the new world.

It turns out that it is not difficult to perceive them as great friends.

Question: Over time it becomes increasingly harder to convince myself of this—until I reveal that I simply cannot.

Answer: Of course, one is unable to. I am a zero, a rag (smartoot), nothing. And from this manifests one thing—what King David felt when he stood naked before the Creator and made a covenant with Him. If I descend to the bottom in my eyes, there I reveal my connection with the Creator. And then I can immediately turn to Him and receive an answer.

Question: Does it mean that the flow of the negative thoughts needs to erode so far that I will cry out for help?

Answer: We don’t aspire to this state purposely. On the contrary, I work on connection with the friends, wanting to reveal the unity with the Creator in them, and then I reveal the opposite. But I cannot aspire to that, I must strive only for perfection.

Question: If I feel like a rag, if negativity takes over, how does one move over to the correct aspiration?

Answer: With the support of the friends and without departing from the timetable (schedule) the group follows.

When There Are No More Descents

Laitman_041_01Question: A complete Partzuf, the general soul, is a collection of souls who have nullified themselves in relation to each other. This is very complicated work requiring long periods of time.

Suppose that a miracle happened and we succeeded in becoming one Partzuf, after long work on ourselves, after applying some effort.

My question is whether we should always remain in these efforts or will everything go differently and not be so difficult somehow? We have already accepted the decision, we have gone through the first Tzimtzum, and we are the only force that is directed only towards the Creator. We have gotten used to thinking this way, and have created conditions for life.

From these laws we have already found ourselves in the spiritual world, but if suddenly one person or a group of people throws all of this into doubt, will the entire Partzuf collapse?

Answer: No, there are no more descents, because it is not for nothing, only ascents exist. But if you “give,” then you do not care about anything.

The Blossoming Of Aaron’s Staff

Dr. Michael LaitmanTorah “Numbers,” Chapter 17: 21 – 17:23: Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and all their chieftains gave him a staff for each chieftain according to their fathers’ houses, [a total of] twelve staffs, and Aaron’s staff was amidst their staffs. Moses placed the staffs before the Lord in the Tent of the Testimony. And on the following day Moses came to the Tent of Testimony, and behold, Aaron’s staff for the house of Levi had blossomed! It gave forth blossoms, sprouted buds, and produced ripe almonds.

Twelve staffs stand for twelve parts of the common soul (four stages of three lines). So, Aaron’s staff is above the others.

Dry staffs symbolize unpromising routes of advancement and a budding staff symbolizes the path that leads to life. Therefore, all should aspire to follow Aaron and pick up their staffs under the condition that they follow him.

The common soul consists of 12 major internal properties called the tribes. Everything is built on a symbiosis, a mutual connection among them.

Twelve tribes can be connected with each other only if they are tied to Aaron of the house of Levi. This is why the Torah directs us who to follow.

Only Aaron can serve as a connection of opposite qualities. The tribe of Levi never did anything for their own sake, they work only in bestowal and the education of the people. Therefore, people advance in accordance with the degree of the self-correction that is possible as a result of the Levites’ governance and teaching.

The entire Torah speaks about faith above reason, which is a state of complete self-annulment. When we approach the revelation of the Creator, we naturally arrive at the complete annihilation of selfishness. Enlightenment is the understanding that our egoism is not us. This makes it easier on us.

Upon Whom Does The Whole World Depend?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In the Arab nations there were a number of revolutions that occurred with the help of social networks like Facebook, Twitter, etc. Even now, the same thing is happening with us. In other words, our enemies are using the same achievements of the modern world without declaring war on us. Do we need to conduct a cultural war such as this with them?

Answer: You can do anything you want. But nothing will help! Only if there is really a life and death threat, is it necessary to defend yourself without considering anything else. But simultaneously, it is up to you to move the people towards internal unity.

Then everyone will gradually begin to change their opinion about you, because through connection and unity, you will be connected with the whole world. Then you will channel completely new forces of good, mutual connection, and unity to the whole world, which the world needs so much. And without the power of connection and unity, it will move toward war.

Everyone understands and knows this, but they cannot do anything because other than the people of Israel, nobody has freedom of choice. So the whole world condemns the Jews. The peoples of the world subconsciously feel that they depend on us. And it is not just that they blame us for all the troubles, it is an internal feeling of dependence. For example, if I feel that I depend on a particular person, I am afraid of him, hate him, he doesn’t leave my mind, and I don’t know what to do with this connection. This is precisely what the nations of the world feel about us. This is a fact.

Question: So this means that they are afraid of us?

Answer:  They are frightened, meaning they feel that they cannot annihilate us. If they could, they would wipe us off the face of the Earth. They have tried, but it didn’t work. But this is not the idea; rather, it is a feeling of powerlessness before Israel that everyone feels subconsciously. I have travelled throughout the world, given interviews and lectures at dozens of universities, major newspapers, in the mass media, and I have conversed with scientists, politicians, and sociologists. This is what people feel.

Question: Does this mean that the people of Israel and the nation itself cannot be destroyed?

Answer: The people no, the nation yes. We could quietly be expelled from here. In the meantime, a bilateral world still supposedly exists, but we have no need of anyone. If there were no higher management through which we need to unite on this land, we  already wouldn’t be here.

Nevertheless, from day to day I see how the people of Israel are becoming more and more consolidated internally, more sensitive, and understand that nothing will save them except for the connection and unity between us. They are becoming more prepared to understand, perceive, and hear this idea, and our organization is becoming increasingly capable of explaining this and giving an example.

Becoming An Embryo In The Womb Of The Group

laitman_528_01Question: If the group is a womb, how is that correlated with the expulsion of the embryo?

Answer: In an ordinary state, the body rejects any foreign body that penetrates it. The digestive system digests the food that we consume, and the wastes are removed.

The function of these systems is only to absorb the energy that the body needs and to throw away all the unnecessary materials. But if a foreign body is inserted into a person’s body, it is immediately encapsulated by a wrapping, suppuration occurs, and the body rejects it.

However, when an embryo that weighs several kilograms develops in a human or an animal body, not only does the body not reject it, but it also responds in keeping it close, nourishing it, and doing everything for its wellbeing.

Interestingly, when a person undergoes a transplant—like a heart transplant, for example—he must undergo intensive treatment in order to neutralize the rejection response. However, this doesn’t happen in a pregnant woman’s body because, in that case, a special attribute of Bina, of nature, is active that develops a living body inside it. which she developed in the animal organism.

This is the reason that the group must turn into an incubator, like a womb, that receives each person and raises him. But in order to allow every person to enter the group like a womb, the person must nullify himself totally with regard to it.

Question: We go out in order to work with the 99% of the population, which we need to incorporate inside us. We learn to nullify ourselves with regard to one another in the group. Must the 99% also undergo the process of self-annulment?

Answer: Of course, they must nullify themselves with regard to one another in order to build the right group or the right human connection.

This is what we teach them through our dissemination efforts and workshops. We explain to them the theory and methodology that allows a human being to become similar to nature. After we acquire balance with nature, we attain the most comfortable and safe state. That’s why the methodology of internal upbringing and education, the wisdom of connection, demonstrates what nature is and how we can become similar to or merge with it.

We use charts, pictures, films, and scientific examples to demonstrate what integrity in nature is.  We attract our students’ attention to the fact that integral education is essential for them. We teach how to cancel oneself in front of the group, to consent to and unite with friends, i.e., we explain the laws of connection that unite detached people into a group. We use simple corporeal language to clarify these matters.

During the workshops, we suggest discussing questions that elucidate the goal of the creation, explain what nature expects from us, what particular form we are supposed to acquire, and what the result of our unity will be. As a result, these issues become our students’ individual, personal thoughts and desires.

“His Father Gives The White, Mother Gives The Red And The Creator Gives The Soul”

laitman_557Sometime after we reach a group, we hear that it is up to us to work on the connection between us, to become “as one person with one heart,” meaning to reach Arvut (Mutual Responsibility). So, we try to get closer to each other. For this, everyone needs to make some preparation.

Sometimes it takes several months and sometimes years until a person hears that it is only within the connection between friends, within a group, between people, that the Creator, the characteristic of bestowal, is revealed: the Kli and the Light.

It takes a lot of time until a person ultimately begins to work on the connection, on the importance of the goal, the importance of the upper force, bestowal, and the importance of the connection within which he realizes this idea, and the more effort he invests in love of friends, the stronger the rejection and various disturbances. They begin almost immediately.

There are people who are willing to endure all of the difficulties and work on the connection between them, despite all the obstacles. And others don’t realize that this is how it should be, and when they feel rejection, they don’t understand that this rejection comes from the Creator. They think that the rejection is justified, and they leave the game and quit the study.

If the person still invests effort in connection with the friends and wants to see his relationships whole and illuminated by the importance of the goal and the importance of the Creator, then with the passage of time, he begins to receive the Light that Reforms. He feels how a particular characteristic of Hafetz Hesed (Delighting in Mercy) is created within him. He already thinks less about himself and is more concerned about realizing the goal, wholeness. This is called “his father gives the white.”

The more that the person invests in holding onto the state of Bina, the state of absolute bestowal, the white of the father, the sensation of wholeness, the importance of the goal, and all the means that lead to it, the more he advances. Even though he experiences more ascents and descents, they are on the same line, the “right line.”

After that, the “mother gives the red” reaches him: criticism, the sensation of deficiency, meaning the “left line. Here, what is required of him is a confrontation, passing from left to right and from right to left. Clearly, it is up to him to yearn constantly for the right—for Hassadim (Mercy), for bestowal, for the “white,” for wholeness, for the importance of the goal, for connection with friends; whereas the criticism, the red of the mother, will arrive by itself and be revealed at the right moment and to the right degree.

So, they complement each other: the right line and the left line, wholeness and deficiency. It is up to the person to invest only as much effort as it takes to complete these lines as quickly as possible to their fullest extent, until he discovers despair within himself. After all, he will feel the deficiency all the time, the red of the mother, the left line more than the right.

As in ordinary life, we remember the unpleasant moments more than the pleasant ones since our substance is a desire for pleasure. Enjoying, is taken for granted, because it directly corresponds to my desire. If instead of the pleasure I suddenly get suffering, lack of pleasure or pain, the negative content in my desire, it is natural to think that it was undeserved.  After all, I expected something else.

So, in a person’s opinion, the left line always overpowers the right. He must fulfill these two lines as quickly as possible, until a prayer erupts from him to the “middle line,” that the Creator will reconcile his condition. He asks for help because he is not interested in being in the left line, in the feeling of deficiency, because this doesn’t allow him to thank the Creator. It is only for this that he is asking for the middle line, clarifying the letters of his prayer and completing the right and the left so that the deficiency in both of them will cause the creation of the middle line.

From this moment on begins the Ubar (Fetus) state. “His father gives the white, mother gives the red and the Creator gives the soul,” that is the beginning of the spiritual Ibur (Conception).

A Method For Connecting The Creator With The Created Being

Laitman_931-01Question: What does it mean that the AHP of the upper falls into the GE of the lower?

Answer: AHP are vessels of receiving and GE are vessels of bestowal, Hafetz Hesed, that don’t want anything, but are satisfied with what they have. Keter, Hochma, and the upper part of Bina are only bestowal with no receiving.

It is only from the middle of Bina and downward that the thought begins of how to repay the Host, Keter, for the pleasure that He has given it. This is the reason that Bina develops vessels of receiving (Zeir Anpin and Malchut) so that it can receive in them in order to bestow.

This is the reason that there is only bestowal until the middle of Bina, and below that, receiving. The fall means that we cannot work with our receiving desires without having a Masach (screen) over them in order to bestow, and so we don’t use them. Only after we receive the Light that Reforms can the AHP rise, but only on condition that we receive an answer to the prayer (MAN) from the lower.

It turns out that we can use our desires to receive only in order to bestow unto others, unto friends or the public. We never will be able to use our AHP for our own sake in order to reach a state of greatness. What should we do that for? This simply cannot be! We can receive only according to the request of the lower.

This is the whole formula of “from the love of the creatures to the love of the Creator.” It is only because we want to receive a request from the created beings and want to bestow unto them that we have a chance to delight the Creator and feel love for Him. This is one action: the receiving of the prayer from them called “the love of the creatures,” and the request that is aimed upward for the fulfillment of this prayer called “the love of the Creator.” According to this formula, the action immediately is fulfilled.

The public gives us its deficiencies to bestow. Although they cry “give us bread!”, we must translate this request to spiritual deficiencies. At the same time, we must gradually teach people and bring them to spiritual needs. As it is written, “for they shall all know Me from their smallest to their greatest.” This means that we must teach the public that all of their deficiencies ultimately should be the desire to reach bestowal unto the Creator. Then, we will receive the right request from them and raise it upward. This means that “the love of the creatures” will connect through us to “the love of the Creator.”

This is the whole system. This is the only action by which we perform corrections. Three components are needed for this formula. The lower is the public, we are in the middle, and the upper is the Creator. Therefore, it is impossible to only study Kabbalah and perform correction. It is either together or death. A person is called Adam, one who resembles the Creator (in Hebrew). How can we resemble Him?

We must believe that the Creator is only a good and benevolent force, and this is also how we should relate to the entire world. We are the only ones who can help people reach the good, and therefore we must do that. This is the reason we receive their deficiencies and raise them upward.

laitman_528_01Question: How must I look at society: Do I need to think that everyone already understands everything and are only waiting for my correction, or should I think that all of us are found in a single boat, with a single desire?

Answer: We are together in any way you look at it. On the one hand, this is a large and very advanced group at the height of the end of correction; on the other hand, this is a society that is waiting for me, while I am holding it back not letting it ascend! On the third hand, this is a society in which everyone is equal except for me. Which is to say, from any point of view about society: from above, on the same level, and below, I am obligated to it.

I get everything from the friends! But because of my attitude towards them, I cannot use anything they give me, radiate to me. Because of my incorrect attitude toward them, I cannot make a prayer (MANMayin Nukvin, a demand for the characteristic of bestowal) for them. They would want to bestow and to help me, but are not prepared to do so! Their actual bestowal to me is possible only according to my MAN, my request.

They do everything for me; they prepare themselves to take care of me, but I don’t raise a prayer, MAN to them. I don’t consider them important and don’t believe that I would be able to get everything through them. I don’t believe and don’t see them as the greatest of the generation, so I freeze everything here and there.

Question: So how can I turn to the friends with a prayer, with MAN?

Answer: Try to believe that they have all that you need. Then you will have a drive to turn to them. The society has everything; it is in the state of Ein Sof (infinity)! But we cannot discover the minimal Light of Nefesh de Nefesh in it.
