Everything Is Obtained By The Power Of Prayer

624.02All that is required of us is the desire to reach bestowal, faith above reason. Our efforts are a prayer that rises up like a baby’s cry. The mother knows how to answer it. The baby does not know what it is asking for. It just feels bad, and cries. But the mother understands what her baby needs, whether she has to give him a drink, feed him, or change his clothes.

The baby itself does not know this; he only raises a request. And we also need to make sure that we raise our request to the Creator. This request does not have to be verified.

We will never be able to determine what we are missing for the next state.

It is impossible and we cannot know what we want from the Creator. After all, this already belongs to the next degree. We just want to bestow to the Creator, and the Creator knows from this what He needs to give us so that by receiving it, we will be able to bestow to Him.

We ask the Creator to create a Kli in us for the sake of bestowal, Lishma, from which we could then turn to Him correctly. There are two actions here one after the other.

How can I be sure that if the Creator answers my prayer I will receive this answer for the sake of bestowal and not use it egoistically? The answer itself builds a Kli within us for receiving it in the correct form. The answer that comes from the Creator is wrapped from all sides in the desire to bestow; that is, we receive a ready made package with the direct light placed inside the reflected light.

All our work is to get the desire to acquire a desire, that is, to make our desire to be like the desire of the Creator.

We have no desire to bestow to the Creator, but we gradually build this desire within ourselves through our requests to Him. If the requests come from the ten as from one heart, even if it is assembled from many hearts that differ from each other, then we feel His answer more and more, each one within himself. Then we unite again for a common request to the Creator.

It is like a heartbeat: we receive – we bestow, we receive – we bestow. The ten works the way the heart works.

First of all, we need the ten for this request in order to turn to the Creator from our common desire. Otherwise, it will be a pointless fuss; without the ten, we will never be able to aim at the Creator.

At The Finish Line Of History

750.03The people of Israel were formed from those people who felt that it is their duty to connect in order to attain the meaning of life and its purpose, the correction of creation and the upper force. That is why they called themselves Israel (Yashar-kel), which means “straight to the Creator.”

Abraham chose these people from all the inhabitants of Babylon, that is, from all the nations of the world at that time, and taught them the main principle of connection: love your neighbor as yourself.

In this way, they rose above egoism, which is constantly growing and swelling by leaps and bounds in human society. This growth is purposeful in order to ensure a sufficient gap between the huge egoism of humanity and the power of connection above egoism, which society is obliged to achieve.

When we reach a certain degree of confrontation between egoism and connection, then within it we begin to reveal the upper force, the upper world, and us belonging to the spiritual world.

The growing egoism serves as an engine that lifts us from this world to the spiritual one, from reception to bestowal, from hatred to love. If we follow the principles that “love will cover all crimes” and “everyone judges according to his own flaws,”then individually and together as a whole group, we will be able to reach such a strong connection together that the Creator will be revealed within it.

Over thousands of years, the group assembled by Abraham in Babylon has changed a lot. Part of it has disappeared, dissolved, in the nations of the world, and is yet to be revealed. There were many in the people of Israel who attained the degree of the Creator to the extent of their ability to overcome egoism and connect.

Over the years, the conditions changed, but the principle remained the same because the laws of the world are constant and unchangeable. We just need to study them and fulfill them in order to reach the corrected state.

Therefore, we need to study the process that the group of Abraham went through in history, since ” the deeds of the fathers will become a sign for the sons.” From this we will understand in which direction we are moving, what is happening to us, and what signs of the deeds of the fathers can be seen today since the eternal principle of love your neighbor as yourself, the law of unity, is always in action.

From the Ari onward, all Kabbalists were saying that we have entered the era of the Mashiach, that is, the time of the end of correction. There is one last stage of our development left, which can be quite long. As always, the nations of the world are applying pressure on the people of Israel, and this pressure is designed to force us to unite, at least through suffering.

Jews must draw conclusions from their history and connect and take an example from the fathers. Through this connection, we will almost immediately feel the fading of external pressure because of our correct reaction to it and our efforts to connect.

Therefore, all the wars that are arising against us will immediately subside, because we will begin to advance by ourselves, without external pressure. If we ourselves reveal the forces for advancement and rush forward, then those who impeded us instead will begin to help.

This will be the correct tendency, in agreement with the single upper force, that wants to see the entire humanity in such unity.

If we do not make efforts to advance toward unity, then to the extent of the lack of these efforts, the nations of the world and negative forces within the people of Israel themselves will rise up and start fighting, confrontation from all sides, in order to awaken us and force us to make the right conclusion—to understand the reason for this pressure and what we should do.

Today we are in a very delicate, acute state. I spoke about this danger many years ago, but I did not expect it to happen so quickly and that already in our time such a special state would develop between all countries and nations all over the world.

We are living in the era of new technologies and global communication and have reached a certain inner understanding of things that are happening: the responsibility of man for the Earth and the entire Universe.

Nowadays, there are many highly educated people with a broad view, not as it was before. Almost everyone has the opportunity to travel around the world and see the life of other nations and connect with the entire world above distances and differences in languages.

Yet in the matter of anti-Semitism, we see that nothing helps: the law that advances humanity to connection acts harshly, one might even say cruelly. First of all, it puts pressure on those who should be the first to lead humanity as one nation that is obliged to do this work, to become pioneers on this path, and to lead the entire world.

There is no way to bypass this law. The upper light, the upper forces, are organized in such a way that as soon as the people of Israel, a group gathered during the time of Abraham from all nations, unite again, all paths open up before it. There are no obstacles; on the contrary, there are forces of nature ready to help them and lift them to spiritual degrees on their shoulders. After this all of humanity will be happy to unite.

This is how the upper governance is arranged and this is how it will be. Everything depends on Israel, as Baal HaSulam writes in the Introduction to The Book of Zohar, because only they have the freedom of choice.

Those who are aspiring to come closer to the Creator are called Israel. They feel obliged to bring themselves and all of humanity to a common connection and spiritual ascent. Any person in the world, of any nationality; black, white, red, or yellow; and all four layers in humanity; the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th; belong to one nation, which is obliged to reach unity and adhesion with the Creator.

Therefore, all over the world pressure on this corporeal group called Israel is growing, although they do not understand what is happening to them. After all, they have long ago left this work of leading themselves and the entire world to the adhesion with the Creator. Humanity, too, has not received the knowledge that the world is undergoing a purposeful development that leads it to complete correction and therefore does not understand the reasons for its hatred.

The Jews are confused and perplexed about what they want from them, and because of the great egoism, they only dream of peace and prosperity. The nations of the world feel that the Jews are concealing and hiding something from them, and not allowing them to come to a good life.

That is why these two groups feel lost in the dark, where the aggression coming from the nations of the world bumps into the hatred and fear that the Jews feel.

It is clear that this does not benefit either of them: great suffering awaits both those who commit violence and those who are stubborn and do not want to hear about correction. Therefore, it is our duty to explain the situation to both, and to push the correction process forward as much as possible.

Baal HaSulam—The Teacher We Follow

216.02Today is a special day—the anniversary of the passing of Baal HaSulam, our teacher, from this world. This is the soul that connects us with the Creator, the person who opened the gates of the wisdom of Kabbalah for the last generation in which we live.

Without his teachings, we would not be able to receive what we have already received and are yet to receive in the future. The knowledge, the whole approach and methodology, the degrees of attainment—all this is prepared for us by Baal HaSulam. Of course, everything comes to us from the Creator and through this great soul.

One of the reasons that the science of Kabbalah (reception) has such a name is that it is passed down from generation to generation. Every student must have a teacher.

Only exceptional individuals can, with special help from above, directly reach the revelation of the Creator themselves. Therefore, we should always be connected with the sages who have attained spirituality, the great Kabbalists, and thus move forward generation after generation.

Everything depends on how much a person is able to follow the teacher. Everyone has their own difficulties in this, and it is natural because this is how the degrees are arranged from above down. It is difficult for the lower ones to overcome their egoism and connect with the upper.

In our world, at the animate level, there is no such problem because nature obliges a child to be dependent on adults. But at the human degree at which it is necessary to study the science of Kabbalah, it is no longer easy to do so. We need to bend down and raise the greatness of the teacher to the maximum in order to learn from him.

Of course, this is not to honor the teacher but only for the benefit of the student. If the student feels less than the teacher, he will be able to lower himself more and receive from the teacher. In the sciences of this world, this requirement is not so strict because the student must be critical of the teacher and check him out.

But in the science of Kabbalah, a person cannot attain anything if he does not bow down before the Creator. And therefore, to the extent that he bows to what he receives from the teacher who teaches him according to the sources that came from teachers of all generations, he receives attainment. Only in this form is the little one able to receive from the big one.

Therefore, we need to understand what an exceptional and great person Baal HaSulam was. We are obliged to accept all his works, all his heritage without any criticism, and then we can hope that we will begin to connect with his soul and receive the upper force from the Creator through him.

A Messenger Of The Creator

961.2Today we celebrate the memorial day of my teacher Rav Baruch Ashlag (Rabash). There were thousands of Kabbalists who lived before him and millions of people who dreamed of revealing spirituality.

But now all this work is focused on us and we must try to bring ourselves to the form of the so-called last generation so that we reach the spiritual level through faith above reason, the first association with the spiritual world with its forces and possibilities.

All of humanity is beginning to feel its dependence on each other both in a bad and in a good sense, both its dependence on terrorist groups hungry for war and on people who strive to unite.

We are all part of humanity and we are increasingly aware of our connection with each other. So far, this dependence is expressed in unpleasant forms, the pandemic, for example. But on the other hand, we are advancing more and more because we see that our connection comes from above as a necessary condition for moving forward.

Two great Kabbalists: Baal HaSulam and his eldest son, Rabash, created a methodology designed for the last generation, for us. Therefore, we are extremely grateful to these two Kabbalists and to the Creator who sent them to us. Rabash writes that if a group of people united by a common goal gathers together ready to annul personal interests for the sake of connection, then such a group is able to achieve the sublime goal even here in this world.

The more a person values the group, the teacher, and the Creator, the more he approaches the force of bestowal and reaches faith above reason. There is one main principle that operates here called “The Torah, the Creator, and Israel are one.”A person seeks to join the ten, which he organizes so that it becomes a place for the revelation of the Creator in it.

We must act in this world as messengers of the Creator, fulfilling the desire from above and helping it to be realized in humanity. After all, there is no such connection between the Creator and humanity that would allow people to feel the Creator’s intention. Therefore, we need to implement this connection, to rise to the spiritual level of faith above reason, and at the same time be within reason, that is, to serve as a transition between the Creator, the force of Bina and Malchut for the whole of humanity.

In this way, we will be able to shift all our forces and intentions to humanity, which will join us and rise with us together as a supporting force, the AHAP of the spiritual degree.

Of course, there is nothing new under the moon, and the concept of faith above reason was known to Kabbalists even before Rabash. But it was not clarified and explained in such detail as Baal HaSulam and Rabash did in order to bring this technique to practical implementation among the masses.

Rabash explained the method of Baal HaSulam in detail and expanded it in his articles. In fact, he took the entire spiritual path that a person should go through and thoroughly explained it. All his articles are like one fascinating novel explaining the spiritual development of a person and his ascent from the animate to human level.

We do not even understand what infinite depth Rabash’s articles hide. Only when we climb the spiritual ladder to the final correction will we be able to assess how this man has prepared the whole path for us and what supreme degrees he describes in his articles.

Help Us To Become New People!

239All holidays symbolize special states in the spiritual elevation of a person. If we work as we should, then from year to year, day by day, we climb the spiritual ladder more and more until we reach complete adhesion with the Creator.

The ascent above egoism is called Passover, the exit from Egypt, and the acquiring of the force of bestowal is called the holiday of Shavuot.

Then a person judges himself and sees that he is not capable of giving, which is called the 9th of Av. And then he decides to start his whole life anew with a new relation to the Creator, which is called the New Year, Rosh HaShanah.

And the most important thing is to make a correct calculation of how to enter this new period, this new time. Many times in his life, a person wanted to change his life and, as though, start it all over again. This is a sign of the Day of Judgment, Yom Kippur, one of the days that a person must pass through to achieve equivalence with the Creator.

Yom Kippur comes from the word “atonement” (Kapara); it is when a person asks for forgiveness from the Creator. After all, he tested himself and saw that many times he had the opportunity to correct himself and achieve adhesion with the Creator, but he neglected this and could not overcome his egoism.

A month before Yom Kippur, a person begins to check himself and sees that he is in egoistic desires to get pleasure for himself and does not want to use them to correct himself and get closer to the Creator. And for this he asks for forgiveness, one realizes that at that time he did not have any strength and opportunity to overcome his pride and ask for help. After all, our entire correction consists in asking the Creator for the power of correction.

It turns out that our whole crime is that we did not ask for help, and we should ask for forgiveness for this. “I am sorry I did not ask,” which means, to ask the Creator to forgive us for not turning to Him with a request to correct us.

The Creator created egoism, but man must realize that egoism is the only evil that exists in him. Through the prism of this evil, we look at the whole world and therefore the whole world seems bad to us. And in accordance with this we relate to the Creator because this whole spoiled picture of the world allegedly comes from Him. It turns out that we blame the Creator for making us and this world so bad.

And at this moment, a person does not realize that the Creator gave him egoism and the ability to look through it at the whole world in order to ask the Creator to correct this egoism and replace the evil nature with a good one.

This is the person’s work. The only thing we need to do is to know the evil contained in us and realize that the Creator gave it intentionally so that we would turn to Him and ask Him to replace egoism and the inability to do good deeds, to correct all the evil to good.

After all, there are no good forces in us and there will not be if we do not ask for them from the Creator, and then we will be able to feel and see the whole world through a good desire. Then the world will seem like a real paradise to us.

Therefore, all our work is to reveal our evil, the reason why we see evil around and inside ourselves, and then turn to the Creator to turn this evil into good. This work is done by the Creator and therefore it is called the work of the Creator (Avodat Hashem). And the request for the Creator to do this is called the day of repentance, Yom Kippur.

It turns out that this is not a day of mourning, but a day of joy because we judge ourselves and see that in order to correct our condition, we only need to ask the Creator to turn the evil desire with which He created us into a good desire.

So, we have someone to turn to and what to ask for. And everything depends only on our request. And the whole past, when we were weak and unable to do good deeds, were confused and insignificant slaves of our nature that dominates us in everything, all was deliberately created by the Creator to show us our powerlessness and awaken in us the desire to free ourselves from our egoism and turn it into bestowal.

This is the main meaning of the Day of Judgment, Yom Kippur, when we ask the Creator to take away our evil, egoistic desire and turn it into a good, altruistic desire, into love. And then we will climb up from a deep hole to a high mountain.

Therefore Yom Kippur is the most significant day of the year when we spend all 24 hours thinking about how to ask for forgiveness for our weaknesses, all the evil that we have created in our egoism that was given by the Creator. And since we decide that this evil was created in us by the Creator, we have the opportunity to turn to Him and ask for the power of good instead of this evil. As a result of this request, we will gain more and more forces of good and will rise higher and higher until the very end of correction.

It turns out that each of us and all of us together should do this work not only once a year, on Yom Kippur, according to the calendar, but every day and as much as possible we should turn to the Creator and ask Him to turn our evil inclination into a good inclination. To the extent of our ability to turn to the Creator and demand this correction, we will be able to become like Him and achieve adhesion with Him and perfection, i.e., the end of correction.

This is what you need to think about and try to implement in the next twenty-four hours.
