Give And You Will Always Be Rich

laitman_549_02Torah, Deuteronomy 15:15: And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord, your God, redeemed you; therefore, I am commanding you this thing today.

This is not a reminder. After all, everything originates from a single source. When you bestow to someone you receive from the Creator.

When a person is engaged in spiritual work and bestows to someone, he can clearly see that something new comes to him from above. Therefore, one naturally has to bestow for the sake of giving to others rather than for receiving from above.

Here comes a serious problem. How can one become similar to the Creator and give with no return when he knows that he will receive many times more when he gives to Him?

Comment: It turns out that you will always be rich if you start really giving.

My Response: Of course, because by doing this you liberate yourself from unnecessary burden. If you acquire desires of others and raise them up, then you receive twice as much to pass to others. As it is said “The older one inherits double.”

Question: If we work this way, will we practically become a perpetual motion engine?

Answer: We have the eternal source. If we connect to it, we become the same.

Rising To A New Degree

laitman_233The Torah, Deuteronomy 12:26: “However, your holy offerings which you will have, and your vows, you shall carry, and come to the place that the Lord chooses.

Holy offerings mean everything precious that I have in me: Reshimot (spiritual information records), qualities, forces, and desires. I have to uncover them, bring them to new contact with the Creator, and by doing that, gradually rise.

I have to constantly analyze my highest states and bring them to unification with the Creator. All this is for the sole purpose of discovering that what I have is suddenly transformed from the elevated states into low states. What was an achievement on the previous level becomes a transgression on the next degree.

When I establish a contact with the next degree, with the next revelation of the Creator, all of my best, wonderful inclinations toward unity, toward the love of others, toward everything, is unexpectedly revealed as evil to me. This is constant: holiness at the lower level becomes evil at the upper degree.

Everything I’ve considered unshakable in me becomes rubbish. I see how my preconceived notions, relationships, definitions, rules, and my perception of the world disappear. There is nothing in them, no truth at all, no value, and no spirituality. All of a sudden, I have discovered that everything I considered to be my contact with spirituality is just zero.

At the same time, the new degree is opened to me because I’ve advanced with faith above reason; I am ready to reject everything that used to be “me” and rise above it.

Faith above reason is a state when I accept the qualities of the Creator, bestowal and love, above what exists in me now. I am ready to accept completely opposite values in desires and intentions to my current state and work according to them. Meanwhile, the next degree is completely opposite to the previous level.

Only one law exists: to rise in bestowal above the will to receive. All past is completely erased and I am building a new degree!

Do The Translations Of The Torah Match The Original?

Laitman_137Question: Does a translator of spiritual texts have to be a Kabbalist? After all, he inserts his perception of reality into a translation.

Answer: If you read the Torah in Russian, you must notice that the text does not match precisely the original Hebrew.

The Torah was written 3,000 years ago by Moses. Then 1,500 years ago, they began to translate its texts from Hebrew, with many additions and distortions that each one made according to what came to his mind.

If you want to read the Torah in Russian, I would recommend the Chumash (five books of Moses) that they are publishing in Israel. That is a clean and precise word-for-word translation.

The Blood Is The Soul

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah, Deuteronomy 12:23 – 12:25: However, be strong not to eat the blood, for the blood is the soul; and you shall not eat the soul with flesh. You shall not eat it. You shall not eat it, in order that it be good for you, and for your children after you, when you do what is proper in the eyes of the Lord.

Blood is called the greatest, biggest glow, filling the desire—the Light of Hochma at its highest level. We are unable to obtain this Light until the final correction, about which “be strong not to eat the blood” was allegorically written.

Blood is the fourth part of the world, the fourth part of a desire that cannot be used because we are unable to feel adhesion with the Creator with the quality of bestowal, while at the same time feeling the enormous desires that are filled with the strongest Light. This is beyond our desires.

Thus, we have to cleanse everything from blood. That is why Kashrut laws are based on appropriate rules for animal slaughter and the extraction of blood from meat.

Question: It is written that “the blood is the soul.” What does this mean?

Answer: The soul has five degrees: Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama, Haya, and Yechida.

Blood is the lowest part (Nefesh) and that is why its use is prohibited. It is impossible to accept this fulfillment with the intention to bestow; we do not have the force to resist the heaviest egoism. This will continue until the final correction and only after that will we be able to shift to different laws.

The Torah Speaks About Everyone

laitman_624_02_0Question: According to what you say, Jews must save the world, Israel are those who yearn for the Creator, God loves Israel, and so forth. With such expressions about the specialness of the Jews, you sow contempt in the nations of the world. Aren’t you afraid that you will be accused of extremism?

Answer: Every page in the Torah says that the Jews are special. The nations of the world, the Christians, and then the Muslims were not given any source by the Creator other than the Torah, so they rewrote it and taking on the “birthright.”

Everyone’s problem—the Jews, the Christians, and the Moslems—is that no one understands exactly what the Torah says. The Torah appeals to all people of the world and calls for the fulfillment of the main law of the Torah, to “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and nothing but that.

The Torah refers to anyone who fulfills this condition of love of others as a “Jew,” “Yehudi,” from the Hebrew word “Yichud,” unity. A person who does not fulfill this condition is referred to as a Goy, which translates to “the people,” and the Jewish nation is also called Goy in the Torah.

The Torah speaks only about the unity of all of the nations as the Prophets said. Foreseeing the compelling future of humanity and that the Jews must show the way to it, is referred to as being “a Light of nations” of the world.

The problem stems from the misinterpretation of the Torah. The Torah speaks about the people of every nation. This is how Abraham turned to all of the people of ancient Babylon and founded his religion on the rule of “Love your neighbor as yourself,” as Baal HaSulam tells us in his article, “The Essence of Religion and Its Purpose.”

Who Is Responsible For Correction?

System That Can’t Be Perceived By The Mind

laitman_543_01Torah, Deuteronomy 14:21: You shall not eat any carcass. You may give it to the stranger who is in your cities, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to the Lord, your God…

“The stranger who is in your cities” are qualities that you don’t consider yours, from which you get rid and send outside of the limits of your desire. However, it should still exist, because the entire world is inside a person.

There are a great number of nations and ethnic groups in this world who follow other laws and customs. Why? This indicates what our desires are made from.

Therefore, we must understand that there is a set of all possible desires within us in the hierarchy—from the most uncorrected ones that still need to be corrected (but today they are at the level of so-called savage people, nations of the world) to the highest ones. The entire hierarchy is arranged only according to the possibility of realizing these desires for the benefit of others.

Foreigners and strangers can either enter into your house, that is, those desires with which you already work for bestowal, or they can be outside. It all depends on how much you approximate and correct them.

Question: Can we call them Klipa (impure desires)?

Answer: Klipa are those desires that are outside of your city.

They still need to be fed, but there are certain steps in feeding them only to the extent that they are necessary for further corrections and use for bestowal.

This is a very serious, vast, global system. It is impossible to understand it with the mind, only internally, when it emerges in your senses. After all, you can feel everything as a whole in your senses, but it is impossible to describe it with your mind.

Try to describe your relationship with the group or in the family. You carry them within you! To present them externally, you would need numerous volumes and still wouldn’t be able to describe everything.

Question: But a person thinks that all this is very complicated. How can we come to this?!

Answer: There is nothing complicated if you try to create it in your feelings and not in your head. If a person tries to absorb it all into himself, then everything happens naturally.

To Do Evil In The Eyes Of God

Laitman_155Torah, Deuteronomy 17:2 – 17:5: If there will be found among you, within one of your cities which the Lord, your God is giving you, a man or woman who does evil in the eyes of the Lord, your God, to transgress His covenant, and who will go and worship other gods and prostrate himself before them, or to the sun, the moon, or any of the host of the heavens, which I have not commanded; and it will be told to you, and you will hear it, and investigate thoroughly, and behold, the matter coincides; this abomination has been perpetrated in Israel. Then you shall bring out that man or that woman who has committed this evil thing, to your cities, the man or the woman, and you shall pelt them with stones, and they shall die.

If I discover within myself some negative qualities that I couldn’t see earlier because I wasn’t yet on this degree, I must extract them from myself, isolate them, and begin working with them. These egoistic intentions are called “a man or woman who does evil in the eyes of the Lord, your God, to transgress His covenant.”

I examine them until I kill them. This is their correction. Therefore, it is written, “Then you shall bring out that man or that woman who has committed this evil thing, to your cities, the man or the woman, and you shall pelt them with stones, and they shall die.”

A stone or “stony heart” is an inner feeling through which a person determines the insignificance of his nature and sets out to change it.

Question: However, the “Islamic State” organizations interprets this literally; as it is written, they throw stones, cut off heads, and so on.

Answer: This isn’t a correction. It’s impossible to achieve anything this way. It turns out that one destroys another, and there is no end to this feud that has no purpose.

Question: But they claim they follow the Koran literally without suspecting that it means executing their own egoism. Is it even possible to explain it to them?

Answer: They will realize it automatically after the people of Israel understand it. We don’t have to explain anything to the world. We should just speak openly about the wisdom of Kabbalah. The correction should be performed by the people of Israel, and through them, the Light will come to the entire world. But all of humanity should know about the wisdom of Kabbalah.

“A Stone” Is An Inanimate State

laitman_741_02Torah, Deuteronomy 13:11: And you shall stone him with stones so that he dies, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Question: What does it mean to “stone him?”

Answer: “Stone” means that you take nothing into account except your inanimate state. At the same time, you do not accept any persuasions of egoism: no properties, no tricks—nothing. You act clearly according to the Kabbalistic method.

You have to precisely follow all of its directions. You cannot trust your eyes, your ears, or your mind. This level of acting is called “Domem,” meaning the stone, , still, inanimate level.

“Lev haEven” (stony heart) is a real penalty when a stone is called something that is impossible to change. You take your properties, which are impossible to change, and with their help, you kill your evil inclination within yourself.

What Is The Uniqueness Of Each One?

laitman_535_03Torah, Deuteronomy 15:11: For there will never cease to be needy within the land. Therefore, I command you, saying, you shall surely open your hand to your brother, to your poor one, and to your needy one in your land.

The Torah calls a person to reveal, through the connection to all others, that he can become a mechanism of their filling, a part of the general system. Each one must do it, because he is unique exactly in this. And “there will never cease to be needy” until thed final correction, until everyone is filled from each other, one through the other.

Therefore, in front of each one is the rest of humanity, all other souls. They are the “needy” that he has to fill. After all, all the others are me! Only now I don’t feel it, but as soon as I begin to fill them, I will feel that it is mine.

Each one of us is unique, because the Light goes through him to the rest of the souls. Nobody can avoid this work. Each one is obliged to fulfill his mission and perfection will be achieved only as an overall result.

Everything Is In Your Hands

laitman_423_02Torah, Deuteronomy 15:09 – 15:10: Beware, lest there be in your heart an unfaithful thought, saying, “The seventh year, the year of release has approached,” and you will begrudge your needy brother and not give him, and he will cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin to you. You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him; for because of this thing the Lord, your God, will bless you in all your work and in all your endeavors.

Being unwilling to give to a a needy brother is our materialistic psychology. The Creator encourages us to do the opposite. However, a person won’t be able to give even if he wants. Moreover, he has to go through such states when he feels that this is his brother, the closest and dearest, but he can’t give to him.

History knows villains, who could let their children die of starvation. They even contributed to it. Yet it comes not from damaged psychology, but from evil.

It is written “he will cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin to you. You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him; for because of this thing the Lord, your God, will bless you.” It means that you must give to him not only because it would be a sin for you, but from the heart, devotedly, selflessly, and without any profit for you. In the internal work of a person the “needy brother” is any action of bestowal, directed either to society or to the Creator.

Since the fulfillment from the Upper Light can come to everyone only through me, the people and even the Creator are always needy of me. Their fulfillment is in my hands. It means that the quality of bestowal is always needy.

Today do I even think about how to give to others? I am absolutely not interested that someone is in an uncomfortable state. And even if I face this situation, I will pass by without noticing anything. Even if I notice, I will somehow justify myself to not engage in it, and if I engage in it, it will be only to have some benefit, or in order that in the future the world would say about me, “He is so merciful.”

But if there is no benefit either in this or in the future world, then I see nothing, because I look at everything through my egoistic vision. This is a problem.

Question: Is this why there is such a big gap between the rich and the poor today?

Answer: Today we are in such a state that a person can’t give up anything of his own. The moment another zero is added to his bank account, he feels pleasure, but at the next moment this feeling disappears and he runs after the next zero. He doesn’t feel the fact that people die because of this zero.

Comment: But you never blame anyone.

Answer: No. We need to blame the Creator. He said, “I have created the evil inclination,” but He also immediately added, “I have created the Torah for its correction, meaning the Light, because its Light returns one to the Source, to Me. Use it and you will turn all the evil into good and will become similar to Me, eternal and perfect. Everything will be revealed before you, you will exit limitations of this little world and will exist in the completely different dimension.”

Comment: It means I am rich, everything is in my hands.

Answer: The wealth of all the others depends on each person, because through each of us, like through a pipe, the Light passes to everyone else, and no one can replace another.
