Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and he sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you.

And I did not want to hearken to Balaam, and he blessed you; so I delivered you out of his hand. (Prophets, Book of Joshua, 24:8-10)

There are many forces that work seemingly against the Creator, against Israel, in order to create the impression that you can do whatever you want, that the Creator does not do everything for you. This is what, in general, should be happening.

Nature is based on a balance of power. It is in the balance of the right and left lines that the middle line arises in which we must exist.

Question: Are you saying that Balak and Bilam have the same power as the Creator?

Answer: Yes. And the people of Israel can balance these forces with the help of the Creator. And it turns out that the people of Israel can exist in the middle line.

Question: Why was Bilam’s curse so terrible?

Answer: This is the force that is added from the Klipa of the left line, meaning a very serious burden on the way when leaving Egypt.

A curse is an additional burden in accepting the law of universal bestowal and love, preventing it from being realized.

By and large, this becomes a real curse for those who move toward the Creator. For others, it can be a blessing.

Question: It is said that the Creator multiplied the seed of Abraham and gave him Isaac. But there was also Ishmael. Why is it just about Isaac?

Answer: It depends on the root of the soul. Isaac is the opposite of Abraham. Abraham is the right line, Isaac the left, and Jacob is the middle line.

Ishmael did not have this seed; he remained close but not more than that.

Question: And what is “Ishmael” in us?

Answer: Ishmael in us is someone who is looking for the purpose of life and the Creator but always goes in a roundabout way. It is as if he is missing something. He is constantly near Abraham or his descendants and interferes with them all the time. On one hand he helps them, and on the other hand disturbs them.

It is written in the Torah that at the end of days, when the children of Israel return to the Holy Land where the Creator brought Abraham from Ur of the Chaldees, this land will initially be filled with descendants of Ishmael, who will prevent the descendants of Abraham from entering there. And we feel it to this day.

Question: Does it mean that they want something from the descendants of Abraham?

Answer: Yes, of course. They want something, we want something, and in the end, it will turn out as the Creator wants.

Question: Let’s say a person starts reading the Prophets. How does a Kabbalist read it or someone who wants to break out into another dimension?

Answer: A Kabbalist reads small portions because swallowing does not mean anything. Then it would be like reading fiction.

In order to read a Kabbalistic text, one must enter it, ponder it, and be in a certain state. Some kind of Kabbalistic meditation is needed here.

A Kabbalist is one who studies books with a pen and a notebook. In general, this is not reading, but studying. Moreover, the Prophets is not a simple book.

Therefore it is difficult to convey how a Kabbalist reads it. This is the study of oneself through other characters, i.e., those people who existed in our world and comprehended the Creator. They acted only with the goal of getting closer to Him, positively influencing Him, so that the Creator, in accordance with this, would bring them closer and give them the opportunity to positively influence the world through them.

The Creator does not reproach the children of Israel, but tells them: “What you have conquered is yours. It’s deemed to be yours. You don’t need to plant and build anything, just fight with your internal enemies. This is your work.”

The Creator gave all this to the people for one purpose, so that they serve God. They don’t have to do anything else. This is the task of the people of Israel, to be directed only at the Creator and to correct all desires that arise against Him to equivalence of form with Him.

To serve God means to correct all the egoistic desires that you are able to discover in yourself by directing them to the Creator.

Question: How can I reveal these desires in myself?

Answer: You can’t find them in yourself because the basic law is “love your neighbor as yourself.” It is only on the basis of this law in relation to others that you can reveal who you are, what you are, and what you need to correct.

And I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued the Egyptians, according to that which I did in their midst; and afterward I brought you out.(Prophets, Joshua 24:5)

Joshua, conveying the words of the Creator, tells about the spiritual path of each person and of the entire society as a whole.

If a person feels that he is in Egypt, it means that he understands that he is in egoistic slavery and the Pharaoh rules over him. There is nothing that can be done about this, except to find a moment and break out from slavery.

When such desires develop in a person that he can no longer remain under the control of egoism, he raises a prayer and asks the Creator: “Give me strength! Get me out of here!” Then the Creator sends two forces to help him: Aaron and Moses.

Question: Is a person lowered to Egypt in order for him to cry out?

Answer: In the end yes. But not only for this. He must descend to Egypt in order to receive four phases of egoistic desire from the Pharaoh during 400 years of his stay there. Then he will feel what a difference lies between him and Pharaoh, as two opposite poles that exist in nature. In this case, he has no other option but to escape from Egypt: “And the sons of Israel sighed because of the work.”

A person needs to rise from our world to the level of faith above reason, of the quality of bestowal. Then the Creator will hear him.

Prophets, Joshua, 24:7: And they cried to the Lord, and He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon him, and it covered him. And your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt. And you sojourned in the wilderness many days.

Darkness is really great salvation because the people of Israel had no strength to escape from Egypt. Only the darkness that the Creator created in Egypt gave them the opportunity to quietly escape from the Egyptians.

Now as well, it is pushing a person as much as possible to exit egoism (Egypt) so that he will try to escape out of it by any means.

Question: Why are we shown the power of the Creator by the fact that He brings the sea upon the Egyptians, and they are drowning in it?

Answer: The Torah speaks of a person who is fighting to rise above his egoism. The fact that the Egyptians (egoistic desires) perish in the sea, demonstrates to him that this is possible.

Prophets, Joshua,24:4: And I gave to Isaac Jacob and Esau; and I gave to Esau Mount Seir to inherit it; and Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.

The paths of Jacob and Esau had to be divided into two directions since they interfered with each other. If they walked together, they would not be able to comprehend the Creator. Therefore, the Creator satisfied them by giving Esau Mount Seir and lowering Jacob to Egypt so that he could gather all kinds of desires there, heavy and selfish, which he lacked for a serious movement toward the goal.

Question: It turns out that Jacob seems to be developing, but Esau is not, right?

Answer: Esau does not need to develop. We are talking about a desire that practically should not develop. But it is strong and serious. This is an egoistic desire to attain the Creator without correcting oneself.

This is about reward and punishment. Moreover, punishment is also a reward and a correction; everything is aimed in one direction. Do not think that there is some kind of closeness or separation here. All of it brings a person toward the similarity with the Creator.

Question: It is said that we are not allowed to “intermarry with them,” which is a serious prohibition in the Torah. What does it mean?

Answer: This prohibition means that throughout various stages of development of egoism, there are desires that we cannot work with yet for the sake of bestowal, so we seemingly cut them off from ourselves. That is, prior to correction there can be no combination of egoistic and altruistic desires.

But afterward, as it is written, “intermarry with them and mingle with them,” because in the end everything will be corrected.

Prophets, Joshua, 24:3: And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the river, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.

From the land lying between the Tigris and the Euphrates, from egoistic desires and goals, the Creator guided the children of Israel to completely different desires and intentions, to a different level of existence. It is allegorically written in the Torah that they seemingly physically left the other side and came to this land.

The fact is that a completely new ideology started to awaken in Abraham: questions about the meaning of life and the desire to attain the upper force. As a result of an internal search, this gradually led him to the Creator.

Question: What is “Abraham” inside of us?

Answer: It is a state when one is looking for his purpose in life, he suffers, gets confused, but still finds it. It is arranged specifically so that he finally finds out what he needs on this earth. And when the Creator reveals the true meaning of life to him, he understands that this is everything.

Within our desires, we want to reach the truth. How will it appear to us? You cannot present it to a child but only to a person who has been searching for a long time, has evolved, and will be able to grasp this truth.
