Question: On one hand, the modern person’s requirements for new desires have been awakened, and on the other hand, people still want to buy an iPhone 5, rest as much as possible and work less; why is it that something new comes along and a person still runs after materialistic pleasures?

Answer: These are not a person’s own immediate desires. Instead they are the influence of advertising and no more than that. It’s a kind of collective pursuit; selling and selling to us all the time characterizes our times. Today advertising is an entire industry that amounts to 60%-70% of the cost of every product, which is to say, vast amounts of money. The problem is not in the manufacturing of something, but rather in its sale. This succeeds in becoming more and more despicable with each passing day and will ultimately explode.

But the matter is not even about the advertising or the disappearance and appearance of these desires. The main thing is the appearance of an immense crisis of the unemployed; people who have lost their jobs cannot find another job. So they must have some kind of pension. If you don’t give them a pension, the millions of unemployed will simply “devour” you.

They say that 1-2% of the workers from the entire world population would be sufficient to supply us with everything we need for existence: clothing, food, housing and the like. Many new technologies exist that we can’t even begin to imagine. They are concealing them from us intentionally because someone is benefiting from it. But if it were discovered that we are already technologically prepared today for some need, humanity would be completely freed from work.

It follows that the crisis is discovered on two sides. On the one hand, all motivation for working has disappeared because more internal questions have appeared for a person: “What for?  What is my entire life for?” He asks more and more questions relevant to the next level of existence, which explain the meaning of life. This always happens during a transition from one creation to the next.

On the other hand, a problem of unemployment has been created which is gradually encompassing everyone, including everyone in China and Russia. And so already there will be a need to do something, to decide something, because millions freed from work will sit at home and begin to descend to the level of the “beast.” If we don’t begin to be involved with educating and re-educating them, they won’t transform into the next level for humans, they will simply transform into “wild men.” A person who is not busy with anything even stops thinking and withdraws.

Apparently it will be necessary to provide a little for the unemployed so that they can live in peace and everything will be okay. Our industries are prepared to fulfill everyone with everything possible. This is no problem. The idea is that with this people will become totally amorphous; the entire human image will disappear from them because without obligations, without work, without interests, a person will simply “fall apart.”

Answer: Back in the days when Baal HaSulam lived it was already possible to correct the world, but he couldn’t foresee when it would actually happen since there is the factor of freewill of the general here. He didn’t know what they would choose!

He said that we received the chance and there is no doubt that we have received a chance, he wasn’t wrong about that! But he couldn’t know whether it would be fulfilled now or not. This means that his assumption was not wrong; he simply couldn’t foresee how the people would behave.

Question: Is physical contact important for a student who rarely meets the Kabbalist teacher and other friends?

Answer: The point is that studying by correspondence or virtually is a new thing. Usually studying by correspondence in a university is not considered a very serious thing.

When it comes to the wisdom of Kabbalah it is even a more acute question, since there must be some contact between the teacher and the student at least once in a lifetime. It allows them to connect initially and then to already act from a distance, by developing the feeling of the contact between them. But if there has never been any contact, it’s very complicated.

After all, witnesses are those who see and not those who hear; even in court or anywhere else people ask, “Have you seen or heard?” So a true witness is someone who has actually seen things.

Besides, during the meetings there is contact between me and the audience, while the people in the audience also connect amongst themselves trying to be one whole and it’s then that we can reveal the upper state. But when a person studies virtually and is somewhere all alone or with a few friends, it’s not enough.

So massive gatherings where I am also present should have a very strong impression which cannot actually be felt virtually. Therefore, I must go to conventions. There is no other way; that’s how it should be.

We mustn’t underestimate physical contact, since the coefficient of the benefit of what this action leads to is great. It’s for this reason that our world was created in a physical form, since it’s from this level that the spiritual contact begins, so let’s make the best of it and let’s all meet.

Question: The next phase in the development of humanity is the transition to a completely new level of consciousness. But it lacks logic, that a large number of leaders and businessmen will be involved with issues like these. What for them does this transition symbolize?

Answer: I think that if people listened to the laws of nature, to those who study nature, then they would profit from it. The fact that they are like small children trying to close their eyes and play with their toys certainly brings no benefit to them nor to the world because a gradual accumulation of negative potential takes place.

We need to try to explain and to disseminate this knowledge; there is no other choice. In the end they still will be heard. One more beating, and then another, and in the end, somewhere along the middle, moving between the suffering and consciousness, we, in any case, will decide that it is enough and that we desire to move forward as rational beings.

But by completely closing our eyes and not paying attention to it, we are going in a completely opposite direction to nature, and there could be serious consequences to this.

The key to cooperative mutual activity between people is their relationship where we need to create a system parallel to nature. Thus, to a businessman who operates a company and has influence on people’s mutual activity, I would suggest setting up a course of integral education of at least two hours a week at his place of business.

We need to explain to the employees about the integral system, mutual dependency, about mutual support, and how it provides a person with the state of inner security, of tranquility. Their manager will see to what extent people will begin to cooperate with each other in a much more effective way. They will stop “jamming the wheels.” They will have the motivation and will begin to quickly agree with each other and reach mutual solutions. We all know that the lack of trust and desire inhibits the production process.

Motivation is related to the fact that we teach people how to relate to each other correctly. They will suddenly discover within themselves great forces, kindness, correct cooperation, and mutual understanding in solving all kinds of problems. Absenteeism will be reduced in connection to family problems, to illnesses, and people will be more active, healthier, and friendlier. Let’s begin today and see what happens in another month or two.

Question: In business today, a line of products or services is manufactured for which no one, in fact, has any need. This is the basis of modern business. What will happen in the integral society to a company that, for example, produces a very expensive brand of neckties, and thus lives and grows?

Answer: Their customers will disappear.

When you give people the right education, they themselves will choose what they do. Many of them will invest only in learning and dissemination, which is to say, in studying, for this is not just learning. They are learning to develop a system of integral mutual cooperation that everyone on earth needs to learn.

The future of humanity is automation, 3D printers, etc., so people won’t work in factories. Certainly this will not be overnight, but just give them a chance and tomorrow it will appear, and no one will need special neckties.

Question: The whole problem is in this. Today, businesses exist thanks to manufacturing neckties. It creates jobs there.

Answer: We are very rapidly reaching a time when people will be provided for through totally different systems and they will feel much happier. Who needs this kind of business? People need to be happy.

That is, a businessman will feel happy, not from selling another thousand expensive neckties, but from something completely different. He will go on to organizing integral education networks and will gather people within the networks, will organize universities, and the like. In this he will find himself instead of selling ties. Anyway, this business has no place in the future. One way or another, it will go bankrupt.

What we require is only what is imperative for the right existence on a normal and minimal level: a house, nourishment, clothing, a car, and the like. All this must exist, but in a normal way. A person will not particularly pursue any of this.

So, describe this to yourself: People with integral education would be eager for what? It will be that which is imperative for life and nothing more. All the unnecessary businesses will disappear.

Question: Practical experience proves that a businessman will feel himself to be secure up to the last day and will not be ready to listen to our advice. An unrealistic condition is formed. We need to wait until everything falls apart for him, but then there will no longer be any one to teach. The collectives are freed, and there are no resources.

Answer: So, we will come to a factory like this and offer them a course in integral education for the entire factory.

The entrepreneur will gradually start his factory again and will come out of the crisis with this. So, through the gradual transformation of the factories that are essential for maintaining the normal existence of humanity, we will form a completely new network. Everything superfluous will cease, and all the “superfluous” people will begin to be occupied throughout their entire workday with forming an integral network between them in the likeness of and equal with nature.

Question: Do I pass the Light to a friend when I raise his spirit or do I simply make him feel good?

Answer: It depends on your intention. If you do it in order to reach adhesion with the Creator, which means with the attribute of bestowal, and by that bestow upon the friend the greatness of the goal so that he can advance, then you also advance with the attribute of bestowal. If you help someone advance, it’s a sign that the Light passes through you to him.

You don’t have to worry that the friend should bestow upon you in return any more since you have already connected to the goal of attaining the Creator, bestowal, and have helped the friend and this is already bestowal. When you do that, then the Light that Reforms passes through you from the Creator to whom you were connected before. Thus you already perform an act of bestowal, and that is all you have to do. You only have to perform several such actions in order to feel the result: to feel that you have actually acquired the force of bestowal.

It turns out that I can draw the Light for everyone at any given moment, as much as I want to, but I can’t draw it for myself! You cannot draw the Light for yourself, since it comes only as a result of your actions of bestowal. If you don’t perform actions of bestowal with regard to the teacher, the group, and humanity, you cannot draw the Light. Is it possible to draw the Light egoistically?

If you study together and want to reach mutual bestowal, then you will draw the Light, but if you only think about yourself, you will not draw the Light. It will be studying just in order to acquire wisdom and not the study of the Torah, which means drawing the Light that Reforms.

So whenever you smile at a friend you perform an act of bestowal. No one is stopping you from constantly bestowing and you are given a chance to do so every minute! But it is on condition that you understand that you are in prison, locked up in your ego, and you can only connect with the Creator if you become “Israel,” which means that you operate upon others and thus pass on to them the force of correction. Israel are those who push all of creation to the Creator.

Answer: Family businesses will exist as long as there is a family, because the family is the foundation of human society. I don’t think it will disappear. Question: Why is Siberia selected as the place for the next congress?

Answer: Siberia is a very serious area covering a huge territory and a large amount of the population. Many people in Siberia constantly listen to us and are in contact with us. It is impossible not to reach out to them, not to show respect for them.

I do not know how often it will be repeated, but it is very interesting and necessary to visit the middle of Siberia at least once and give the Siberians an opportunity to meet with me and with each other.

Question: When we speak about the integral network, we are speaking about connections. What are the objects between which this connection is realized?

Answer: First of all, it’s a person since he must attain the state of integrality for himself by striving for it rationally and wisely, by gradually creating it. Together with this, he needs to use the society, even though it still is uncorrected, but is trying to correct itself. Here a very interesting exercise exists. And afterwards, man’s attitude towards the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature is naturally added to the integral society that gradually progresses and corrects itself.

In what way can we get closer to this integral society and use it? Since it doesn’t exist outside of us, we need to create it ourselves.

Thus, when we play in this integral society, when we imagine it to ourselves as if we already exist in it, when we try to unite between us and create a network of mutual relations, then through this game, we invite upon ourselves the general integral force of nature. It operates and influences our attempts: The society or part of it that tries to play in the integral society receives specifically this force. We do this like children who through this try to be grown ups and thus invite upon themselves the bestowal of the upper force, the general integral force of nature. In this way, we invite upon ourselves its influence and change.

Baal HaSulam, “The Peace”: Rabbi Akiva depicts two kinds of people: the first are the “open store” type, which regard this world as an open store without a shopkeeper. He says about them, “The book is open and the hand writes.” Meaning, although they do not see that there is an account, all their actions are nonetheless written in the book, as explained above. This is done by the law of development imprinted in Creation against humanity’s will, where the deeds of the wicked themselves necessarily instigate the good deeds, as we have shown above.

The second type of people is called “those who want to borrow.” They take the shopkeeper into consideration, and when they take something from the store, they only take it as a loan. They promise to pay the shopkeeper the desired price, meaning to attain the goal by it. And he says about them, “All who wish to borrow may come and borrow.”

Question: How can a person check what type he is?

Answer: According to his intention, according to what he wants to get from the study.

First, if I am like the guest who wants to thank the host, I have to imagine the next state. I stand before the “store” or in front of the “table with the refreshments” which is actually the group. In other words, the “table” is the means by which I can receive the presents from the host and also give Him presents. The group is like the table that is set and prepared for me by the host, so that I will taste from what He has prepared for me and thus bestow upon Him. Therefore it says: “everything is prepared for the meal.”

Question: So what is the calculation that I make here?

Answer: There are two options:

• I approach the table without even asking who has set it and I begin to taste the refreshments and fill myself.
• I approach the table but first I ask who the host is and only then take something.

This is how people differ in their attitude towards the refreshments on the table, or even in their attitude towards the host. But still they take everything for themselves. There are those who enjoy the refreshments that the host has prepared for them. For them it isn’t just refreshments but refreshments that were served by the upper force, by the Creator: “How nice of Him to have prepared this whole world for us and also the next world, Heaven…” This is how people use all of creation.

For them the Creator is a source of pleasure that they can enjoy. They want the Creator to protect them and to benefit them. The creation was given to us by the Creator in order to help us resemble Him, yet people see it as a means to enjoy.

This brings up some difficult questions of course: “Why does the Creator send us such sufferings? Perhaps we are guilty of something? Or perhaps the troubles don’t come from Him? Could there be someone else? Perhaps it is just by chance?…”

But there are also other people, and if I belong to them I stand before the table and admit that “there is none else besides Him” and that everything is meant only so that I will try to resemble Him by using my own powers. Then I relate to everything in a perfect manner. I understand that everything depends on me alone and that the troubles are revealed because by that I see that I am not corrected. But if I correct myself everything will be fine.

Question: But how can I know that I have to pay for the merchandise in the “store?”

Answer: If I am already attracted to what is beyond the “store,” if I have the point in the heart, I come to a group, to friends, to a teacher, and the books that tell me everything. It’s because I have a point of truth in which I can understand that there are no coincidences. The starting point of honesty has been revealed in me and I cannot put up with a world that is so “dirty” and lowly. I cannot put up with it internally…

But there are many in whom the seed of honesty has been planted and they still put up with the daily routine as a result of their upbringing, their experience in life and different obligations, and as a result they sink into the swamp they are unable to come out of…. Others who take this world for granted feel that everything is just fine and they only need to find their place under the sun.

We are looking for people who have the point of honesty and who cannot put up with the way that the world is currently. Those who yearn for spirituality belong to this type. Although they lead their lives like everyone else, they are in a constant inner conflict, unable to accept what is going on.
