Answer: This can happen to everyone, but they do not feel it, they do not define it.
When we study together, people all over the globe, no matter where they are, rise with us, but not in their awareness, not in their disclosure. At the same time, they are filled.

Question: During Kabbalah classes, does a person enter the spiritual world?

Answer: Yes, but not obviously because the person does not have a screen.

Question: Can a Kabbalist be a scoundrel?

Answer: This cannot be because he clearly sees the qualities of the Creator and is a part of Him.

Question: Essentially, Kabbalists describe the system of souls. But the Creator is described as an inanimate system, a force that governs everything. Ultimately all souls are supposed to reach similarity with this force. But if it is inanimate, does that mean the souls will also become inanimate?

Answer: I do not know what you mean by “inanimate.”

Comment: I mean, it is not a mind, which can change, but just a force.

My Response: What do you mean “not a mind”? We are the ones who are mindless. I understand only one thing: there is desire and next to it is a mind that fulfills what the desire wants. That is all. There is nothing else in the world. The greater the desire, the more it develops the mind needed to fulfill it.

Comment: But the Creator is the ultimate desire we must achieve.

My Response: That is how we perceive Him within ourselves. In our greatest desire, when we feel the true quality of the Creator called the quality of bestowal and love, we call that “the Creator.”

Question: Let’s take an example of a force, like a traffic light. There is no point arguing with a traffic light because it is an unchanging mechanism. So if we become similar to the Creator, do we turn into that same kind of unchanging mechanism?

Answer: If we become similar to the Creator, then all of our internal and external movements become absolutely correct, altruistic, and based on bestowal and love. We would not experience a single doubt about what to do or how to act.

So you are asking: “Does that mean we turn into robots who flawlessly execute their internal program?”
Right now, we carry it out incorrectly and therefore we introduce all sorts of errors and interferences into it. As a result, those interferences force us to come to the correct program of behavior.

So you are suggesting that as long as we are not corrected and do not really know what to do, we feel free: “I could do this or I could do that.” But once we know for sure what we should do, then we will stop feeling free, we will just be like animals.

Comment: Yes, you are speaking about merging with this force and becoming like it. A person as if becomes the Creator, similar to Him.

My Response: Do you think I would feel bad if at every moment I felt that I am doing something, exposing the next desires within myself, finding ways to resolve them in an absolutely correct manner, realizing them, and thus constantly advancing in such a spiritually correct, perhaps even error-free growth? What is so bad about finding an absolutely correct algorithm of behavior?

Question: Let’s say you have a mechanism, like a precisely working clock. Are you saying we become like this clock? But what mind does a clock have?

Answer: So what is the problem? What I see is that today you are a mechanism that does not understand how it works. It does everything it needs to do, but it thinks it is acting freely, like a small child. But I see you from the outside; you perform all actions absolutely correctly, without any mistakes. You do everything exactly right because nature compels you to do so.

The difference lies in how you see yourself. Do you see yourself in your true form from the level where you correctly observe and evaluate everything within you? Or do you not see this and are in concealment, unaware that the Creator is completely controlling you now, that even now you are entirely carrying out His program?

In other words, you are saying: “I want to remain in concealment; it gives me the illusion of freedom.” But I say: “No, you do not need that!” Because when I feel that I am moving in unison with the Creator, I experience even greater pleasure. At the same time, I do not lose the sense of freedom, I do not turn into a robot, although I know precisely that I am moving in harmony with Him. It gives me immense joy to search for the correct behavior in relation to Him.

It is like when you listen to music and it is somewhat familiar, you already know what the next chords, sounds, and transitions will be. Precisely that anticipation, that foreknowledge of what is coming, gives you far more enjoyment than an unfamiliar melody, because you do not have any developed, known desires, sensations, emotions, or expectations toward it.

Try to figure this out! And you will see how this does not rob you in any way; rather, it makes you far richer, more serious, more majestic when you suddenly begin to reveal a completely different level of your own behavior, of how you are governed, and of your participation in the common governance. These are things beyond imagination!

Why talk about this on an amateur level? Reveal it, and you will see! Then you will discover that your current state is the most pitiful and the most miserable.

Question: Can a person, as a result of studying Kabbalah, harm another? For example, kill someone intentionally due to an increase in desire?

Answer: Absolutely not. Even ordinary psychics or clairvoyants cannot do that, let alone a Kabbalist.

The thing is, a Kabbalist is connected to the Creator and to some extent becomes similar to Him. That means he is incapable of causing harm to others.

It is possible that others may feel he is harsh or rough with them. But harm, in the sense that people usually understand it, a Kabbalist cannot inflict. It contradicts the very nature he is attaining and absorbing within himself.

Question: I want to ask you about tears, not children’s, but adults’. Undoubtedly, when an adult cries,  you immediately sense some depth of pain, tragedy, offense, or happiness. Adult tears immediately draw attention. You cannot remain indifferent to them. Today, I was walking down the street, and a woman passed by quietly crying. I shuddered. I wanted to ask what happened, but did not dare. And if you suddenly see a man crying, that is something entirely different. So what is it about tears?

Answer: There is a lot in tears, in general, in that internal small stress that those tears carry.

Question: So what is it that I am pouring out?

Answer: It is cleansing, a person cries it out.

Question: So one must cry it out to the end?

Answer: It is not easy. Especially for us men. It only happens sometimes when special emotional events occur, when you feel that you are finding something, but these are not women’s tears.

Question: Are men’s tears not women’s?

Answer: Absolutely not. That is where a clear boundary between men and women is revealed. So much so that a woman cannot cry for male reasons, and a man for feminine reasons. There is nothing to be done. That is why we are two, and not one unified being.

A man cries when he realizes something profound, and when that realization merges with his feelings for it. And a woman cries when it all passes through her system. After all, they are completely different people. They are from different worlds!

Answer: Of course.

Question: Then what does the union of these worlds mean? A union of these tears: male and female.

Answer: They do not unite. They unite only in the Creator when they rise above themselves in order to reveal their shared, common root. Only there can they unite, reveal the Creator, and truly reveal each one in the other.

And that is why there is this special attraction between us, this polarity of the sexes, and so on. It is a very complex system of relationships.

Question: So the real union arises there, in the Creator?

Answer: In heaven.

Question: It is all created in heaven. The true union is in heaven?

Answer: Of course.

Question: Was it hard for you to communicate with your teacher RABASH from the standpoint of mentality?

Answer: Absolutely not. In terms of mentality, we were very close. He was a Polish Jew from the beginning of the last century. I was a Belarusian Jew who grew up on the outskirts of Vitebsk in a town where many Jews once lived. The spirit, the way of life, the habits—it all lingered there, and I somehow picked it up.

In principle, when you study Kabbalah, all of this does not matter. But I understood RABASH as a person, with all his habits. I grew up in a town with just a few houses: my grandparents lived in one, some relatives in another,  a little farther away lived more relatives, and so on. It was all very natural for me.

From childhood, I had memories that exactly matched the stories of RABASH. So in terms of everyday life, I had no conflicts or problems with him.

Of course, he had his own habits that he picked up in Israel, after emigrating from Poland. He loved coffee very much because he had lived for many years in Jerusalem with his father Baal HaSulam, who was a great coffee lover. They would pour boiling water over a spoonful of ground black coffee and drink it. Baal HaSulam needed twenty of these glasses a day, if not more, and cigarettes.

My teacher also smoked, not ordinary cigarettes, but very strong tobacco, first without a filter, then with one.

They experienced many upheavals in life. After Baal HaSulam was forbidden to publish a newspaper, he suffered a heart attack, and shortly after, he was diagnosed with cancer.

My teacher went through the death of his daughter and her husband, who passed away just six months apart. Her husband had been the right hand of RABASH, his helper in everything. They died a year before I came to him. Yes, he had serious problems. All Kabbalists do.

That is why I think we are the first and the happiest, probably because we are weak and unworthy of serious trials. Very little is given to us. On the contrary, we receive good feedback for whatever we do. That is why we are able to spread Kabbalah, develop, hold congresses, attract hundreds, thousands, even more people.

Baal HaSulam and RABASH were not granted any of this. They lived in terrible conditions, worked a thousand times harder than we do, suffered, and in the end received a meager result compared to us if you look at it from the outside. And they died in despair: What is next?

And how did the ARI die? It is documented that when his students asked: “Where are you going from us?” He answered: “If you were worthy, I would have stayed. If you wanted to hear me and listened to what I was saying, they would not have taken me.” This was said by a great Kabbalist, who died at thirty-seven. He knew his students would not continue his work, and before dying, he forbade them to study Kabbalah.

Can you imagine a greater punishment for students than to hear: “I forbid you to study! Go back to your animal state and live.” And you do not dare disobey your teacher.

What happened to most of the students of the ARI we know almost nothing. He allowed only one to continue studying Kabbalah: Chaim Vital, who collected all his writings. The ARI ordered these writings to be buried with him. Some time later, his grave was opened, the writings were taken out, and from them his works were compiled, on which Baal HaSulam based The Study of the Ten Sefirot and other writings. So the Kabbalists of the past went through horrific states!

And Rashbi, who wrote The Book of Zohar? He lived in a cramped cave, near a tiny spring and a carob tree with sweet pods. That is what he and his son ate. In such harsh conditions, they dug into the sand, and they studied Kabbalah. Later eight more students joined them, and together they wrote The Book of Zohar, sitting in that cave, in the cold, in the north of the country! The horror!

My Response: It does not matter. They still want. They still reach for something, and that is what helps them grow.

How do we pursue something as children? Do we really know what we are striving for? We are pushed forward, back and forth, opening things, throwing them, tearing them apart, building, placing, and so on. Just watch what young children do. That is how they develop. Follow their example.

Question: But what is the right way to follow a child’s example? You can seemingly do everything, yet still go about it the wrong way.

Answer: But you are not a small child. You must analyze yourself and your goal with precision. The higher and more eternal and perfect your goal is, the more it is detached from mere animalistic existence, and the more human you become. You need to set a goal and genuinely desire it. How else? If I wake up in the morning and want nothing, then what kind of person am I? That is why I have a schedule for the day, and I must complete everything: answer questions on my blog, prepare materials, appear in a program, give a lesson, and so on. This is my duty, and I cannot escape it.

But beyond that there is another internal program I must fulfill: work on some qualities, some values, conduct clarifications, and bring myself to a certain internal state. This is a necessity! Without this, the day is wasted.

Question: Can there be such a bond between a man and a woman that they move forward together without conflicts and achieve a common goal?

Answer: It is quite possible. In the future this is how it will be to the extent of aspiration, correction, similarity, and the general ascent of all humanity to a spiritual level.

But for now, we are still in states that have not yet entered the spiritual world. Therefore if a couple has not reached the upper world, they experience very problematic tensions, ascents, and descents that are not synchronous. So there are significant challenges here. It does not matter that they both are studying Kabbalah and want to succeed. In practice, it still does not work out well.

Comment: But you went into this very deeply; you must have had problems in your family.

My Response: My wife has always supported me in everything! The moment we met, I told her that we would definitely move to Israel, that I needed to find the purpose of life, and I did not see that it was possible to do it in Russia. That was 1970. She agreed even though she could have said no. Since then we have had no issues.

I make the main decisions in life. She knows it would not work otherwise. But I, on my part, never rested until I had provided for her. That is, first and foremost I always thought about how to provide for the family. This earthly duty is absolutely clear and definite to me. But everything left after I brought my salary home is mine—the rest is for the soul.

Comment: But she practically does not see you.

My Response: We have a tradition. Once a day we go for a walk in the park and talk for about an hour. I do not think that an average couple has the opportunity to talk daily in a calm setting, without staring at the TV, or a plate at dinner, or exchanging just a few words while she is in the kitchen and he is on a couch in the living room.

You might ask, “What can you talk about every day for so long?” We talk about our grandchildren, about what interests her. I tell her a bit about what I am working on.

Question: About spiritual matters?

Answer: No, about ordinary things. But she feels everything even without studying. She watches our channel and is aware of everything. She has invested a lot into this. She took care of my teacher, cooked for him and did his laundry. As a woman, she did a lot in order to begin understanding Kabbalah. And now she is aware of everything. She listens to the programs, and often criticizes my lessons or talks. So I am genuinely interested in her opinion. In this sense, I am truly satisfied with my life partner.

Question: Does it happen that after a lesson you transmit some kind of energy to your wife, suppose, during a conversation?

Answer: No, none of that is necessary. We just walk and talk. These are all everyday matters. We walk at a brisk, sporty pace, and I share a bit about my activities because our lives revolve around this, and inevitably our children’s lives too.

I hope that when our grandchildren grow up, they too will be part of this system. So even when my wife and I talk about family or other matters, we are still in one way or another discussing things that are part of our Kabbalistic community.

Question: If a student moves into the spiritual dimension, does he essentially no longer need a teacher?

Answer: One always needs a teacher!

There is practically no such thing as not having a teacher. In some way it can be a spiritual teacher that is not in a physical body that you can smell, touch, or something else, but it is the same teacher.

For example, I cannot have anyone else except Rabash. I cannot go to study with anyone, since our connection has already manifested itself as a connection between two souls. Such a hierarchy was conceived from the beginning! All this was arranged this way back in the world of infinity, in the connection between souls.

When the time comes, you find your teacher, and you come into contact. There is nothing else here! You just have to agree with this and work.

Question: So your students will not be able to become students of someone else?

Answer: No, not In Kabbalah.

They can try to study somewhere, but all this will be purely mechanical, conditional. It would not be real work.

My students must unite, and work together as equals, as a group, when I am gone. This is how they will lead all of humanity forward.

This entire group, without singling out anyone, must become the spiritual government of humanity, which humanity will feel the need for by that time.
