The Correct Spiritual Path

528.03Comment: You say that on the spiritual path everyone goes through absolutely the same states.

My Response: But in our life everyone also goes through the same path. Nevertheless, different people go through different lives.

Comment: But a person passing through spiritual states can get stuck in them for a long time.

My Response: It depends on their inclusion in the common system. Acceleration can only be due to external forces, by how much one participates in the work of the group and how much one receives energy from one’s friends.

Question: How can a person not get confused since it takes a long time to absorb something?

Answer: This is none of his business. He determines nothing in this. He determines only the influence of the group on himself. If he is included in the group, gets closer to the teacher and to the ten, then by this he advances.

Why Is It So Difficult to Study TES?

548.02Comment: When you teach certain levels of the Study of Ten Sefirot (TES), it is hard to understand at first, but later these layers become revealed.

My Response: I teach very simply since I give elementary information. It is just that today people are not able to comprehend it and they do so even less than they did before. Let’s say thirty years ago this information was simply understood, absorbed, studied, memorized, and used in a purely logical way.

Today, egoism has grown so much that it cannot tolerate simple knowledge, it must necessarily apply it to itself, and it has become more demanding. This is good after all, as it means we are moving toward practical correction.

What is interesting is that some cannot even tolerate the Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (Pticha), not to mention the Study of the Ten Sefirot. People need what they can feel, really understand, and accept.

Take my lessons from 10 or 15 years ago. Look at how much I drew, the drafts I made, and whole panels! At that time I had a large board and I depicted drawings from the beginning of the creation to its end. It took two hours of time and with explanations and graphs. That’s how we worked.

But today people want only one thing: “This is what I need, this is what I want to know, and how do you get it quickly.” This is how egoism works. I’m not blaming anyone; I’m just saying that the ego has changed and that is why it is difficult for us to study such serious materials.

Comment: I remember when you were explaining and drawing, you never seemed to reach MA and BON. I always wanted to find out what was happening after that, but you always stopped in the middle.

Answer: Because MA and BON are rudimentary organs of the upper system that exist in order to pass the light further. But on their own, they have no direct influence on us. That is why we do not study them.

Comment: But how it affected us on the inside! We could clearly feel some truths resonating with us out of your explanations. They may not be as specific as mathematics, but this seems to have been erased.

Answer: Because you are no longer interested in it and your soul’s need for it disappeared.

“What are the best ways for me to support someone?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What are the best ways for me to support someone?

The best way to support someone is by dressing in them out of love. We need to make an image out of ourselves that the person in need would willingly accept and perceive positively.

There is a saying about this in the wisdom of Kabbalah: “Teach the boy according to the boy’s way.” That is, we need to dress in a certain image that would be closer to the person-in-need’s character, ideals and outlook on life, and we would then be able to establish a connection with them. Through such a process of connection, we would be able to provide them with the best support possible.

“How does a good supportive connection work?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: How does a good supportive connection work?

A good supportive connection works when we share the good and the bad with others, and then we feel the burden from the good and the bad as more moderate and bearable. By doing so, we gain the strength to continue living. There is a saying that someone who visits an ill person takes a part of the illness upon themselves.

If we support each other, then we share an inner connection in our desires, because we are made of desire. If our desires are connected, we pass the fulfillment that exists in the desire to each other. A desire is like a vessel, and if we support each other, then it is as if we pour the fulfillment that exists in the desire into each other’s vessels. Whether the attitude is toward an illness, life, children or anything else, each person in a good supportive connection gains a mixed kind of fulfillment as a result, which gives us the strength to take more weight onto our shoulders.

Through such supportive relations, we integrate with each other, and include several people into our connection. We can then live our lives through others.

The one who gives support builds a copy of the other person in himself, which gives him the ability to grow. That is, the one who provides the support in such a connection finishes building himself on the current degree, and he can then rise to the next degree. He receives more importance in life and in what he does. He then has more strength to develop as a human being in the fullest sense of the term, i.e. as one who is positively connected to others and who feels not only his own individual life, but the life of a much wider circle of people connected together.

“Why do people need support in their lives?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Why do people need support in their lives?

The world operates according to forces that are outside of our perception and sensation. Reality is much broader, profound and complex than the way we are built to perceive it. Therefore, in relation to everything we do in our world, and in every one of our actions, we have to know where we are, what is going on, what we should do, and how we can secure a positive outcome from our actions. And it all comes down to somehow relying on others.

One way or another, we wish to know others’ opinions about us, whether it is our parents, our relatives, people who care about us, our teachers, wise people, doctors, and so on and so forth, up to a point where we turn to the Internet in order to absorb various sources of information. Accordingly, we then decide on our various actions.

We seek support because we wish to strengthen ourselves emotionally. We were created as social beings, and cannot survive on our own in the world. We are in constant need of an environment, a society. We have such inner feelings, desires and deficiencies that we can only fulfill if we truly connect with society.

A Special Type of Soul

226Comment: You said that the person who takes a long time to enter spiritual perception, has more to gain because he passes through a large number of states.

My Response: I did not say that, these are the words of Baal HaSulam. This is, in fact, so. Not because a person lingers on this path, but because he has such a soul that must necessarily include within itself the entire universe.

I have exactly this type of soul. I am not rushing forward on the spur of a moment, and I am not carried forward. Until I master this vast system at my level and in breadth in such a way that I will see it from one end to the other, digest it in myself, will be able to retell it, and fully adapt to it and adopt it in myself, I will not be able to rise higher. Although from the highest level, looking down from above, I perhaps could have done it faster and more easily.

“What does it mean to support someone?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What does it mean to support someone?

Supporting someone means dressing into their desires. We have to feel what the person-in-need truly needs, what they lack, whether it is an ability, strength or knowledge, so that we can fully realize their need. Then, we can try to provide them with the support they need in a way that they will not reject, but that they will gladly accept, with gratitude and understanding.

To begin with, there can be no connection between the person in need and the supporter, because the supporter needs to integrate in the person-in-need’s problems. Then, the supporter builds a model, an inner template of the person-in-need’s problem, and through such a model, the supporter can support the person in need.

Supporting others thus requires building a form inside ourselves of their needs, problems and lacks. In the language of Kabbalah, such an action is called building a “Partzuf.” Only after we build the Partzuf of the other person within us and work on that image, on how to help them, then after building such an inner model, we have a plan of how to support them. We then can approach the person in need to support them.

In such a process, we need to be precise about truly becoming integrated in their deficiency, and to live out their deficiency inside ourselves. The precision is necessary because it is the model through which we can support them.

More generally, the purpose of our lives is for us all to come together, for humanity to unite “as one man with one heart,” and by doing so, we will reach the image of a complete human being. This is not a physical image of a human that we currently perceive, but an inner one of a perfectly-connected humanity. Building that image of the human being—the perfectly-connected humanity—is the essence of the support that we should wish for each other, as such a state is our final destination.

Feeling Our Future

229Question: There is always some kind of struggle and mutual rejection between us. How can people introduce mutual complementing between them and begin to actually coexist together, really together? What role does the concept of true love, which you always talk about, play in this?

Answer: People need to be taught. They need to be constantly taught how important it is to be connected with each other, how much they need support from each other. The most important thing is the purpose.

They should unite and constantly feel that from day to day they are getting closer and closer to each other. This getting closer to each other raises them increasingly higher to the Creator, to the one single force of nature. They should feel their future in this.

Practically, this is what we exist for, in order to take several steps toward the Creator during our life. And we will continue further. It does not matter how or when.

This is what we need to take into account. Therefore, we must further develop those basics that we can receive from our mother and from school.

It Is Time for People to Open Their Eyes

254.02Question: What kind of results would you like to see from your work?

Answer: As a result of my work, I would like to see the world beginning to understand the true state of things, understanding what I am writing about in the blog where the same thing is constantly repeated.

I already do not know what to do!? Maybe abandon this blog?! But I cannot! Who will read posts written a year, two, or five years ago, even though they are still relevant? That is why I write every day. I have nothing to say anymore. It is necessary to wait until the world will realize the dead end of its development.

Now humanity is already beginning to talk about the need for unification. Here and there articles appear that we need a completely different attitude to life. First of all, about reasonable, normal, even minimal consumption; otherwise, 90% of the world, if not more, will starve and be in need of basic necessities!

It is necessary to be seriously engaged in education so that everyone will begin to understand what kind of world we are entering. As of today, we exist at the animate level of development, not at the human level.

Human is something above egoism, above our nature! We are not at that level and for the time being we live as animals. Why as? Because animals are triggered by nature instinctively. They instinctively do everything they need, and therefore do not make mistakes. We, humans, are gradually losing this instinct.

For many years, nature pushed and developed us, and now it is slowly starting to let go. Now we are lost. From the beginning of the 20th century, we began to feel: What should we do? Where should we go? Previously, nature guided us, like all animals, and we had no questions, but now we do not know what to do.

We are entering a new, integral phase, but we ourselves do not correspond to it and do not know how to act. We are within the forces that pass between us because they are integral. They are interconnected in a system, but we are completely different.

Moreover, we do not see or feel it. We just feel that we would like to do something, but cannot. What to press, what to push, what to pull? Something is affecting us, but what we do not feel. We end up in some kind of n-dimensional space, as if, we are passing through it.

How to Enjoy Life?

627.2Comment: In ordinary life we often do something not for pleasure but out of necessity. And we sometimes even force ourselves, let’s say you need to feed your body or do basic home maintenance.

My Response: No, it is necessary to receive pleasure, and not deny it. Let’s say I’m thinking about the spiritual, about the exalted, about bestowal. But if I can enjoy it to that extent, I must do so.

After all, the purpose of creation is enjoyment and fulfillment because the Creator is good and doing good. It’s not clear, I understand. I feel how these contradictions collide in a person. They are not easy to reconcile, but in the end they will be reconciled.

A person should not give up normal pleasures for a single moment in his life. On the contrary, he should only aspire to the Creator above all pleasures, and then he will make the correct restriction on himself. And if he begins to shut himself up and deny himself, it will not be a restriction, but a torture against the Creator’s will.

The Creator wants a person to feel fulfilled at every moment of time. When your fulfillment is in what you give instead of what you receive, then replace one with the other. You will still enjoy. By making a restriction on yourself, you will not cry, suffer, and torture yourself, but you will enjoy the fact that you have achieved the ability to bestow. There is such joy in this!

In no case, if it is not to the detriment of others, should a person deny fulfillment. Only to prefer more exalted pleasure to the lowly ones, until they replace each other, alternately, gradually, and reach the highest level.

And then one constantly thanks the Creator. Otherwise, he curses Him in his heart. If a person does not get pleasure, he curses the One who gave him this life, who governs it.

In everyday life, eating normally, sleeping, doing everything you need to do for yourself becomes part of our spiritual work. My teacher Rabash, the great Kabbalist, the last Mohican, loved to eat delicious food, ate with pleasure and praised the taste and smell of food.

That is, in no case you should do it! This is the embodiment of small pleasures that the Creator gives us so that we can begin to combine them across the entire spectrum: from the smallest to the greatest. And all this together comes from one light.
