The difficult history of the people of Israel has not made us experts in treating the disease of anti-Semitism. Now that the danger is in the doorway but still have the option for action, we must carry out preventative treatment. Rav Dr. Michael Laitman decodes the mechanism that is hidden behind the phenomenon of anti-Semitism of the leaders and politicians against the nation of Israel and challenges us with social experiments to neutralize the hatred against us.

Currently Channel 10 News is airing a documentary series that reveals the scale of the boycott against Israel (BDS) in the academic institutions of the United States. Therefore, it is no longer just the EU or the Swedish Foreign Minister. The venom and hatred against Israel also has permeated the citizens of our best friend, the United States of America. More and more statesmen, political leaders, academics, and key figures in many areas freely and openly express hostile and uncompromising hostility toward Israel.

Leading Experts – Result, None

In order to deal with the wave of virulent hatred, Israel has enlisted a front of information ministers, business executives, and representatives from around the world and has launched high budget Internet campaigns.

However, despite the significant allocation of resources, Israel’s image has not improved and the problem persists. Unfortunately, anti-Semitism is mounting, world public opinion has surrendered to an anti-Israeli perception, and racism against us is intensifying.

Anti-Semitism has been our inheritance for years and has never had a logical explanation. The worldwide impression is backed by a strong inner feeling that Israel and the Jews are to blame for all of the troubles and crises in the world. It seems that the urge to condemn Israel, to annihilate and eliminate it, lies in the subconscious of the nations of the world, and in recent times erupts from the mouths of senior officials.

What do they want from us?

Henry Ford, one of the biggest anti-Semites, published a series of booklets entitled, “The International Jew.” Among other things, he wrote, “The Jew has been too long accustomed to think of himself as exclusively the claimant on the humanitarianism of society; society has a large claim against him that he cease his exclusiveness, that he cease exploiting the world, that he cease making Jewish groups the end and all of his gains, and that he begin to fulfill, in a sense his exclusiveness has never yet enabled him to fulfill, the ancient prophecy that through him all the nations of the earth should be blessed.” Ford is one example among many.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, there is no reason to be surprised. The age-old hatred of Israel is rooted naturally in every person (1). Moreover, there is a direct connection between the hatred of Israel and the system of relationships among the people of Israel. The source for this has its origin somewhere around 3,500 years ago when we agreed to walk in the footsteps of a Babylonian priest named Abraham. Abraham taught the Babylonians how to hold unity as the highest value despite the divisive ego that leads the people to mutual hatred (2).

Against the force that separates, a force that connects is available. Its function is to link the various parts, connect them, and bring unity. The people of Israel are the first who must realize this process. The connection must begin here between us because we are the initiators of the method of connection called the wisdom of Kabbalah (3). The moment we unite, a positive force will spread through the world that is capable of creating wonders (4).

Uniting Against The Anti-Semitism Within Us

At the foot of Mount Sinai, Israel contended with an additional dilemma when an unequivocal choice was placed before them: mutual responsibility or unfounded hatred, all or nothing. With Titanic effort, they conquered the mountain of hatred and connected “as one heart.” From there, the way to the land of Israel—the building of the Temple, and prosperity—was short until the poison of unfounded hatred swept the people, the Temple was destroyed, and we went into exile (5).

Two thousand years have gone by since then, and even though we have returned to the land, we still behave in it as if we were in exile. Divided tribes and communities alienate each other, engage in self-glorification instead of building commonality, emphasizing and sanctifying difference instead of building what unites, and we actually are detached from our spiritual roots (6). The world expects us to be “a Light of nations” (Isaiah 49:6), providing a good example of a model society in which everyone lives in connection and brotherly love above all differences (7).

Waves of modern anti-Semitism have visited us. They must be used as a reminder to us of the role imposed upon the Jews to make the world unite “as one man with one heart.”

According to Kabbalah, anti-Semitism is a law of nature that can be measured. Let’s challenge ourselves and arrange a nationwide experimental study, a practical tool by means of which we examine on our own flesh the immensity of the power of connection. For a limited time, we will try to create and adopt a warm, sympathetic, and connected social atmosphere in the relationships between us, above the cold feelings, above the alienation and indifference between us, and we will see how a change in attitudes toward others leads to a significant reduction in the hatred toward us (and improves political relations, productive and friendly attitudes toward us in the world) (8).

New Life 155 – The Passover Seder, Part 2

How can we live a better life as individuals and as one Israeli family? What do we organize on the Seder Eve? And what can we learn by that in order to improve our life?

What is the Seder: We celebrate the discovery that there is order in creation, a plan, a program of development, a sublime goal.

In the beginning our forefathers were idol worshippers. Terach, Abraham, Egypt, and the connection to the upper force. This isn’t history. We celebrate the possibility of revealing the order to exit slavery and be liberated.

Humanity is led like a herd and does not perceive the order (“Seder” also means order in Hebrew). Very few understand and actually manage the order. Connecting to the inner software that operates nature makes everything go and leads to a good life.

Israel demands a new social order but doesn’t really understand what it is. This is exactly the feeling of darkness. The new order has to be compatible with the level of development defined by nature.

Moses understands the Seder since he knows how to connect to the upper force, and therefore he is the only one who can draw the people forward. He leads them to come out of the ego, ascending to a brotherly connection and discovering the upper force of love and bestowal among us.

We discover a common mind and heart through integral education, by learning the system of connections and through connection workshops. We are the slaves of the current social order: working, purchasing, spending, being in a constant chase! We are not able to escape this enslavement yet, but there is already a feeling of inner bitterness,

There are two trends today: growing external problems, multi-faceted crisis, and inner distress.

We will not be able to lead a good, healthy, joyful life without changing society. We need to connect and feel mutual guarantee among us. We are slaves to the social system we have built, to Pharaoh that forces us to live the way that we do.

Questions to think about: What manages me? What affects me?

We are the slaves of society, and therefore only the upgrading of our social values will help each of us. There is only one change we have to make: adding  the love of Israel to society, so that we will feel as one nation. We need a social-educational process: sitting together several times a week. We can also do it through the media.

Lesson # 1: The world is connected and integral today; all of nature is in a state of mutual complementation. Only man disrupts the balance in the world since he consumes much more than he needs.

What causes natural disasters, revolutions, and wars? It is actually we who are the lords of creation that are the most miserable. Why? It is because we cannot manage our ego. There are two conditions for managing our ego: rational consumption and good communication with others.

How do you communicate correctly with others? You rise above all the criticism that you feel toward others. In this way we reach peace, mutual complementation, and a truly good life. There is abundance in the world and the only thing we lack is connection. We can attain it by educating ourselves to live a new life, together, not under pressure or coercion.

A workshop for the Seder: Imagine that you have ascended all your egoistic feelings and that you are relating to others differently. Describe the new attitude out loud. We feel a new atmosphere among us.

New Life 154 – The Passover Seder, Part 1

What are the hidden meanings of Passover and the figures in the Haggadah and why do we keep the tradition for generations and celebrate the Seder?

Nimrod symbolizes the ego that erupted and separated people. Terach was a supporter of Nimrod. Abraham, his son, was against him. He realized that advancing according to the ego is a mistake. According to the ego a person who is more successful succeeds more. The opposite form is connection and mutual relations.

Abraham’s method was to use the ego in the opposite way, which allows a person to get to know his nature. A person begins to feel the force that builds the egoistic desires in him and to discover the Creator.

Nimrod and Terach realized that Abraham was ruining things for them. Abraham left with thousands of his followers. Abraham’s group moved to the land of Canaan. The ego grows and there are great disputes, but they try to keep connected above them. Ego and anti-ego: there is endless work that leads to the recognition of the source of life, of a new life.

Jacob’s sons represent different methods of working above the ego. Joseph represents the most advanced method. They went down to Egypt where there are the seven years of satiety, then the ego grows and Joseph’s method is exhausted.

These periods are called the levels in a person’s work above his ego, which are his help against him. Then there are the seven years of hunger in which a new king rises who doesn’t know Joseph. The ego has nothing more to gain.

The new ego called Pharaoh is very cruel. He doesn’t let us live and connect. A new force called Moses is revealed and says: “We have to fight Pharaoh!”

Nimrod is a level of the ego and in contrast to it there is Abraham’s method, Pharaoh is a level of the ego and in contrast to it there is Moses’ method. Moses is a special upgrading. We need the force that constantly builds a new ego in us, the Creator.

The children of Israel need to understand that the new ego is ruining them, and the ten plagues develop this recognition. They reach the state of darkness, the necessity and inability to connect. We drown in the swamp…the night of the exodus from Egypt.

We have no power to connect, but we have the power to escape from Egypt by a small force called Moses. This is an internal journey of developing the method of connection, the growing ego, and the gathering at Mt. Sinai.

The children of Israel begin to recognize God, the force of nature that is everywhere and develops everything. Pharaoh is the most cunning ego that requires the revelation of inner software that builds the ego. At the gathering at Mt. Sinai, the mountain of hatred is revealed, the Pharaoh that is among them.

Passover is when we begin to be a nation that is connected to the inner force that builds our nature, the upper force. The connection we feel among us is called the general soul, and so the evening of the exodus from Egypt is considered a birth.

So why do we clean for Passover? We clean ourselves of our ego. Hametz (leavened food) equals ego; Matza is the force of bestowal.

New Life 714 – Seder Customs

What do the customs and symbols of the Seder stand for? How are they related to the developmental process we have to undergo as a nation? What is the exodus from exile to redemption that we should reach?

The Seder symbolizes the summary of the Egyptian bondage, the enslavement to the ego, to capitalism, to the endless chase. People don’t want to get married and to have children any more, which indicates that humanity has reached a dead end and we need a new way of life.

What do the symbols and the Seder customs stand for?

The Passover Seder plate contains the symbols of the states we went through in Egypt and that we have to undergo on the day we are liberated. The four glasses of wine symbolize the ego that develops in four phases, where the wine represents the Light of Hochma. The glass for Elijah symbolizes the force that brings us to love and connection, the peak of our development.

The verse we read in the Haggadah, “pour out Your wrath on the nations that did know You,” refers to the egoistic forces in us, that a man is a small world. The Afikomen, which must be eaten until midnight, symbolizes the upper force that corrects us that appears at the darkest moment.

As long as we think that improving our bank account is our redemption, we are not headed in the right direction at all, and so we are still in exile. We will be redeemed when we feel that we lack love and connection and we have to work in order to attain it. Instead of criticizing one another, we have to criticize ourselves, and to examine where we stand with regard to the rule love thy friend as thyself. So on the Seder eve we should think about the exodus from unfounded hatred and disrespect of others to connection and brotherly love.

In the News (polosa.co.il): “According to a study conducted by the French Fund for Judaism, 6 out of 10 French people believe that the Jews are to blame for anti-Semitism. Within a few days, [the French Fund for Judaism] surveyed more than a thousand Frenchmen as to whether they believe that Jews are at least partially responsible for the anti-Semitism in France.

“An affirmative answer to this question is 59%, with 3% expressed confidence that on the Jews is a ‘very large share of’ responsibility, and 14% said their share was ‘substantial.’ More than half of respondents said that the Jews have a lot of power, and that they are richer than the French average. 13% admitted that, in their opinion, France has too many Jews, even though according to statistics the number of the Jewish community is only 1% of the population.”

My Comment: The anti-Semites are right: the Jews are to blame for the hatred against them. The hatred of Jews is both natural and real, and exists in places where there aren’t even any Jews and in places where they don’t even know what a Jew is.

This is because the hatred toward them stems from nature itself, from the Creator, because in relation to the Creator, the Jews who aren’t corrected, are in opposition to Him.

If they would change and reach the opposite state, i.e., bestowal, connection, and love between themselves and toward others, then in accordance, the hatred of the Creator would immediately turn into love for them. This is mentioned many times in the Torah.

New Life 565 – Jerusalem: The Capital Of Love

The religions are constantly bickering and arguing about who is right and which is the true religion. The religious wars that we have seen throughout history stemmed from this.

At first, Abraham taught them all to “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” and that is how he brought different people to the discovery of the Creator. As the ego grew, love for others was destroyed and the feeling of the Creator disappeared. As a result of the destruction of love for others, Jerusalem was destroyed and we went into exile and the revelation of the Creator was lost to us.

The people of Israel were left only with physical actions, Mitzvot (commandments). Instead of the wisdom of Kabbalah, Judaism developed. And then the city of Jerusalem and the stones in it were made holy, instead of love for others.

What is in Jerusalem today is Klipa (a shell) and not Kedusha (Holiness), hatred instead of love. When we return to using the Torah correctly and demand love to dwell among us, then Jerusalem will be rebuilt. And then there will be a new religion for all people, the religion of love, the wisdom of Kabbalah and the revelation of the Creator.

The way to peace in Jerusalem is through building connections of love between us. From us this will extend to the whole world. If we make peace between us, peace will come to all people, but it is up to us to be the first.

Why doesn’t the world recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel? It is because it is torn apart by mutual hatred. In fact we have not yet established the land of Israel and Jerusalem. The land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael) is the desire for love (Ratzon Le Ahavah), and we have yet to reach this.

Next year in Jerusalem: Today there is not one corrected brick from which it is possible to build a holy city. In the future, the whole world will become the “Land of Israel,” when the sovereign will be the upper force, the power of love; the whole world will be a desire for love, the Land of Israel.

Question: Today Israel is fighting against BDS, a boycott declared on it by other nations. Simultaneously, the newspaper Haaretz has organized a campaign urging Jewish Americans to stop supporting us because Israel sent Danny Danon as ambassador to the UN who allegedly is an emissary of Apartheid. How do you relate to the activities of the Haaretz?

Answer: From the point of view of Kabbalah, their actions are perfectly natural for Jews. An “uncorrected” Jew hates his Jewishness and does not want to be a Jew. He constantly carries out an internal scrutiny about how to avoid it.

After all, he consists of two opposite characteristics: an enormous egoistic heart, which is called “desire,” and a small point in the heart, which is the beginning of the existence of a truly spiritual, altruistic attribute. This was built in us since the days of ancient Babylon where 3,500 years ago under the leadership of Abraham we attained contact with the upper force, the Upper Light.

The spiritual point will not let us rest, and a person feels great contradictions and oppositions within himself. So, many anti-Semites involved in all the actions against Israel are Jews, who want to suppress this point.

It does not allow them to live. And only if a person understands this and begins to develop the point in the heart within the power of desire, it gradually raises to the level of the Creator, and it returns to being above this world, above everything.

Therefore, it is completely natural that each of us has a potential true anti-Semite inside us that is incomparable to the anti-Semites of the world.

Among the Jews, there is a sharp anti-Semitism that appears in the contrast between the egoistic and altruistic desires. Therefore, it is no wonder that when people like the members of the editorial board of Haaretz or members of the leftist parties gather together a wave of hatred is ignited in them.

But, on the other hand, I still hope that it will be possible to approach them and explain how the outcome of their special relationship to the State, to the people, and that their way is absolutely dead-end, because it does not bear correction,
In this way there is no way to combine the two desires: a great little egoistic and altruistic.

On the other hand, I still hope that it will be possible to approach them and explain where they get their unique relationship to the nation and the people and that it is a dead end because it doesn’t bring any correction with it. According to their way, it is impossible to connect the two desires: the enormous egoistic desire and the small altruistic desire. This must be done so that the altruistic desire would begin to conduct a higher energy, Light and love, according to the enormous egoistic desire. Then, these two desires would transform into a single, complete desire, and this state is called a soul.

There is nowhere to escape from this because our lives exist only to make one more step toward the creation of a common soul. In the future, the present time also will become the ancient history of humanity, but it is up to us to take a step forward, struggling for the soul of our distant descendants so that in the following incarnations we will not be sorry that we didn’t prepare the future state. So, let us join together to begin to carry out the true work of the Jewish people within us, and after that, we also will work with all of humanity.

Question: The Belgian government is looking for ways to restore a sense of security in the country and to protect its citizens from acts of terrorism. Following the last terrorist attack in Belgium in which 35 people were killed, the authorities have decided to oblige the immigrants who are not from the EU countries to sign an integration oath declaring that they accept the local values.

Only when they sign it will the refugees be allowed to live in the country. The document includes a pledge to prevent any attempts to commit terrorist acts, and to report any such planned actions.

Answer: There is a very simple method to tame animals by reward and punishment. We can tame tigers, bears, or any other animal without a problem by showing affection and patting them.

But it is impossible to tame humans, especially those who have an ideal and a goal. Therefore, signing such a document doesn’t guarantee anything.

Question: Interestingly, Belgium has not decided to stop the absorption of immigrants but only to oblige them to take an oath.

Answer: Of course, it is all good European behavior, but it will not work. If the Europeans want to put an end to terrorist attacks, they will have to fully comply with the immigrants, carry out their demands, convert to Islam, go to the mosque, etc. Once this is done and the absorbing country adopts this policy, the terror wave will cease. By the way, converting to Islam is a very simply process. So, if the Europeans are looking for a way out, the process of converting to Islam is the only solution for them.

Question: What will happen if they decide to close the borders and a right-wing fascist party takes over?

Answer: It won’t help. European tolerance still will lead Europe to destruction. Moreover, everything is done by the upper leadership in order to direct the Europeans, the immigrants, and the terrorists against Israel. Soon, a crusade will be launched from Europe against Israel.

Question: Why will everyone be against Israel?

Answer: Why did Hitler do that in his time, not only in his country but other countries as well?

Hitler conveyed a very clear message: the Jews are the source of all of the evil in the world and their common mission was to annihilate them. He his supporters that the only thing that stood in the way and separated people were the Jews, and if they were eliminated, people would be able to establish friendly connections between them, the right mutual connections and love.

Question: Will Europe eventually reach this conclusion?

Answer: Of course, Europe will become Nazi, and the Moslems will run this movement. Everything will be directed against the Jews in Europe and the State of Israel until we understand that we can resist that only by the unity between us.

The unity of the Israeli nation is essential to the world, not only in order to be saved, but also in order to reach the next level of our development and fulfill the goal of creation.

Question: These are very high words for an ordinary person.

Answer: If we don’t fulfill our role and unite, new gas chambers will force us to do so.

Comment: Full of energy, 92-year-old Shimon Peres was interviewed by the paper Le Figaro in which he said: “We are witnessing the transition from an old world to a new world—the era of territoriality and conquest is coming to an end. We now have a global economy, but there is no global government yet. In the new world it is impossible to rule, you should serve.”

At the end of the interview Peres said: “People often ask me how I manage to stay so young. The answer is simple: count how many things you have managed to do and how much is left unrealized. If you have more plans than memories, you are young.”

Answer: That’s true, Peres said that very nicely. The question is what’s next? We are nearing a point in which 99% of the world population will live in great poverty. People will not be able to work because robots will do everything, and so they will only be provided with the basic necessities. A dozen rich people who control the world will begin to look for a way of cleansing our planet of poor people as quickly as possible, since why do we need people who live like that?

This stage is necessary so that people will see what egoism brings. Where is the freedom, equality, brotherhood, and happiness? Where is education and upbringing?

We have lived in the best period in human history which we can call the frozen era both in Russia and the West. Even the US realizes today that it is not going to be the same US it was in the past. We have undergone a rotting process.

Egoism has tempted, confused, and put us to sleep in order to show us that it is like a snake that devours itself. In other words, egoism has pulled us to a nice, comfortable bourgeois life. And now all this goes to purchasing drugs, unemployment, emptiness, and the awareness of our worthlessness of our existence.

Here to replace it will come more and more terrorism, a terrible state when one neither lives nor dies. Only later will humanity understand that unification above egoism is the only way we can exist.

Question: Who do you think can lead the world to unity? What attributes should such a leader have?

Answer: This person should feel the understanding of the essence of the world, the creation, its goal, its development, and trend; he should understand the general law of nature and where all this is headed.

Such a leader should feel that nature is pushing us to unite and should look for ways by which we can unite despite our ego. He should understand that the main thing is educating human society, education that leads to unity.

It won’t take long. Any leader would be able to do it if he only wants to take on this mission and introduce a universal method of education to society. People will study in their spare time. People will receive a salary and engage only in that.

This kind of education will lead only to unity by examples and exercises explaining how we should unite. Thus we will see immediate changes in society. It will be an inner revolution.

There is no room in Israel for gentiles; there is only room for Jews since the term the “Land of Israel” refers to the desire that is directed straight to the Creator, to the attribute of love and bestowal. The word “land – Eretz” refers to a desire – Ratzon, and the name “Israel” stems from the words “Yashar-El,” which mean straight to the Creator.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the terms “Torah, Israel, and Jew” are states in our world, the upper world, etc. A Jew is a person who yearns for the love of others and a gentile is a person who has no such yearning but only egoistic self-love.

Therefore according to the actual definition, there is only room for Jews in the Land of Israel, which means for those who feel the love for others, and they can be Italians, Mexicans, French, anyone. When a person begins to take others into account, which means that he transcends the internal psychological barrier, and they become close to him and not strangers, he becomes a Jew. This country is called the Land of Israel, and only our desires or the person who has corrected his desires from hatred to love, which means that he has been converted, is a Jew. The term “Jew” or “Hebrew – Ivrit” stems from the Hebrew word “Ever – to transcend,” from hate to love. All of humanity should reach this feeling of love, not only those who were born to a Jewish mother.

Jews who were born to a Jewish mother have a method of transcending from egoism to altruism, from hatred to love, which they attained in the past. Then they fell from love to hatred and have been in the state of hatred for 2,000 years. Therefore, they have to come back to life today and show the whole world how humanity rises from egoism, from hating others to love.
