America Welcomes Its New President, Part 1

laitman_426Question: The day after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, America and the entire world split in two, protesters against his rule and those who support it. Do you think this is a temporary phenomenon or a gap that will widen further?

Answer: Actually, such a split has never happened before. After World War II, liberalism became the fashion in the world. Humanity decided that the West, the “free world,” cannot afford many things without any restriction of religion and governmental system, and everyone can feel more or less free.

By itself, liberalism is a good thing, but if it is based on human egoism, it leads to distortions. It happens with everything that people do. There are many excellent qualities and aspirations for remarkable plans that people offer wholeheartedly

Humanity enthusiastically accepts them, without considering that human nature is inherently egoistic. The moment we begin to implement these excellent programs, egoism will begin to wedge into them and turn them so that only destruction will be left.

After all, if we want to correct something, we need to correct our egoism first, and then all aspects of our lives will be corrected. Without this, only harm will come from all the programs.

Therefore, neoliberalism and democracy initially looked very enticing, promising to provide everyone with good development. The problem is that all of this was based on egoism and therefore led to the destruction we observe now.

Democracy and liberalism have led to these distortions that affect everyone. Everyone does what he wants, and this is the most egoistic, abhorrent form possible, especially in our time when egoism has developed so much that it has come to quite unimaginable desires, inclinations, and properties.

It turns out that there are no restrictions on the manifestations of egoism, no power over them, not newspapers, governments, financial oligarchies, not the judiciary, police, nor universities. One cannot raise a child because he will complain about his parents to the police. In society, there are no constraints that would keep it in some kind of a framework so as not to lead to total anarchy.

This is like children who had been granted freedom to run riot as they want. In the end, what will happen with these children? That’s why we have come to such a crisis with the government, finance, media, law enforcement, and judicial systems.

The problem is that we don’t take into account that real democracy requires the prior correction of the egoistic nature of man. Democracy must be built on a corrected basis. Otherwise, it will crumble.

The split that has occurred today in the world is the difference between people who belong to the previous generation that still want some kind of order, and the younger generation, brought up in the last thirty years, who don’t recognize any order and are accustomed to doing
what they want.

So they have, after legal elections, gone out to demonstrate in protest. If they stand up for democracy, why don’t they agree with the President who received the most electoral college votes?

Apparently, they think that the opportunity to display their egoistic nature is democracy and an indicator of a modern, developed person. There is no correction, no understanding of creation, nor even an understanding of how society functions. In the meantime, society is functioning through other people who are preserving it, and the army and police are still working somehow.

However, a polyarchical system has already been built. Everyone wants to rule—the government apparatus, financiers, media, the military, and police. It is happening all over the world, but it must end.

Now is the opportunity to eliminate this conflict in a peaceful, quiet way. It is still possible to fix the destruction done by the liberal rulers in Europe and the previous American leadership in the United States.

Today, there is a struggle between the two parts of America, and it won’t be very simple. Yet, the process doesn’t depend on one or another, and in any case, it will move in the direction of correction. The only question is, which way it will go, good or bad? Hopefully, Trump will be able to implement at least something from his program of change, and the realization of evil will happen through the mind, and not through suffering.

It’s not about Trump. It’s about what he represents: a transition to a new era, a new economy and a new responsible attitude toward life.

If we want the Holocaust to never happen again, we need to understand its root cause—that Jews didn’t fulfill their historic mission.

Bioterrorism: smallpox-infected martyrs arrive at an airport. Apparently healthy, they infect everyone, as smallpox incubates for 14 days.

Germany is in panic. If the EU falls apart, it can’t rob Europe anymore, as countries will develop their economies independently.

Everything that happens is in order for us to accept it as coming from the Creator for the better—to rise above self-interest, the EGO

A crisis is both an ascent and a descent—depending on how people look at it. The collapse of the old is the birth of the new.

In Charlie Chaplin’s days, workers were looking for work. Soon, employers will look for workers, as those will happily sit on the dole.

Today is the international Holocaust Remembrance day. Let’s remember that Jews evoke hatred by not showing the world an example of unity.

Trump is not an anti-globalist. He’s an “anti-chaosist”—against social chaos—as the economy is a system that connects all of humanity.

A Jew by blood and a Catholic by faith, Madeleine Albright intends to convert to Islam. Too bad there are only three world religions.

Jan 27th is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, but the best reminders are the anti-Semitic acts resurfacing everywhere.

The new economy will have to include positive social relationships, which will prevail in society through Integral Education.

Eleven Years After Arosa, Part 3

Laitman_115_06From “The Crisis and Its Solution” (Arosa Forum Report)

How can we prevent the deepening of the crisis?

To overcome further deepening of the crisis it is necessary to:

1. Acknowledge the existence of the crisis.
2. Reveal its causes.
3. Realize the existence of an alternative and the possibility of getting out of the crisis.
4. Create a plan for exiting the crisis.
5. Implement the plan.

In January 2006 when this report was prepared, the crisis had not yet manifested. Therefore, it was only a warning that the world was entering into crisis and advice about how to avoid it in order not to come to the manifestations that we see today eleven years later.

Today, it is impossible to hide the crisis, although some of its manifestations are still hidden from people and part of the crisis is still not apparent at all, but ready in potential. The crisis has spread to industry, trade, financial and political systems, the control structure of the financial elite over the masses, education, and family—in other words, all areas of human society.

It may seem that these are different crises affecting each of its regions and that it is possible to deal with them separately. However, in fact, there is only one crisis in man’s relationship to human society, which should become more and more integrated and interconnected. If we begin to correct this problem, we will correct each individual crisis that is manifesting today.

In essence, this is a crisis of humanity, rather than of any extraneous things. The crisis is rooted in human society living on Earth, or more precisely, in the most developed countries of North America, Europe, and Asia. The reason for the crisis— the relationship of man to society—is because we feel ourselves as individuals, rather than feeling like an integral part of human society.

Throughout the millennia-old history of humanity, it was considered normal for a person to feel special, set apart from others, and not obliged to anyone. On the contrary, he aspired to use others as much as possible and, by this, to advance.

It is exactly this egoistic aspiration that motivates all human achievements, and it was considered a useful quality. Human society has evolved due to the fact that there were people who used it because they were pulling society forward.

All development was due to the use of human egoism. All great discoveries—new continents, energy, electricity, and drugs—happened precisely because the people who discovered them wanted to gain power, money, and knowledge, which are operated by their egoism.

This was greatly encouraged by society because a person who strove to invent, discover, and create something new was helping others and dragging them along after him.

However, today, this engine has stopped working and even has begun to spin in the opposite direction, and we need to realize that.

All the while, until recently, human egoism was a developing element, a positive factor in the development of mankind. But from a certain moment in time—we could say from the middle of the 20th century, or more precisely, from the creation of the Club of Rome in 1968—humanity began to discover that egoistic acts cause harm.

It is like a fruit that ripens and then begins to rot if we continue to use it as we did before.

Today, the world has realized that there is a crisis but doesn’t see any way out of it, and therefore, everyone is trying not to talk about it. After all, politicians, rulers, and scientists don’t want to show their weakness and inability to manage. They want to believe that they can cope with the crisis.

Now, all hope is with the new US President. All of this is necessary to go through to make sure that it doesn’t work for him either. However, in this way, it will be confirmed that this crisis has no solution on the ordinary, human level.

If the cause of the crisis is human egoism, then only the correction of the relationship of the individual to society can bring us out of the crisis and enable the continued existence of humanity. Otherwise, nature will harshly teach us the path of suffering and wars.

This is not a technical crisis caused by a lack of organization of some material systems, but a human one, at the human level. Therefore, to exit from the crisis, we need not establish a system that is of this world; we need to correct man’s attitude toward nature, society, and his entire existence.

Summarizing 2016: Economy

Egoism In The Service Of The World

laitman_939_01Baal HaSulam, “Peace in the World”: And it is natural that each and every individual feels himself in the world of the Creator, as a sole ruler, that all the others were created only to ease and improve his life, without him feeling any obligation whatsoever to give anything in return.

And in simple words we shall say, that the nature of each and every person is to exploit the lives of all other people in the world for his own benefit. And all that he gives to another is only out of necessity; and even then there is exploitation of others in it, but it is done cunningly, so that his friend will not notice it and concede willingly.

It is possible that a person doesn’t even feel that he uses another when giving, but it can’t be that we give something selflessly. In any case, it will be with the intention to receive.

The reason for it is that the nature of every branch is close to its root. And because man’s soul extends from the Creator, who is One and Unique, and everything is His, hence, so man, who extends from Him, feels that all the people in the world should be under his own governance and for his own private use. And this is an unbreakable law. …

This law can be called “the law of singularity in man’s heart.” No person escapes it, and each and every one takes his share in that law: the great according to his size, and the small according to his size.

Thus, the above law of singularity in the nature of every person is neither condemned nor praised, as it is a natural reality and has a right to exist like all parts of reality. And there is no hope to eradicate it from the world or even blur its form a little, just as there is no hope to eradicate the entire human species from the face of the earth. Therefore, we will not be lying at all if we said about this law that it is the absolute truth.

It is clear that this is our nature. The important thing is not to hide this law—this “absolute truth” that only our egoism operates in the entire reality—but to use it correctly. After all, egoism is the only material of creation, and if we don’t learn to use it correctly, we will suffer all of our lives.

A person’s entire life, from birth to death, is a fight. How is it possible to enjoy it and reach an eternal and perfect life? For this, we need not destroy our egoism, but to use it properly.

There is no force in the world that can correct our egoism. Therefore, people think that there is no solution. All of the governments, philosophies, nations of the world, and the cleverest presidential advisors can’t recommend any method of correcting human egoism. Competition and using others remains.

Only the wisdom of Kabbalah, by attracting the upper force not inherent to our level, our life in this world, helps us draw force of love and can show us how to properly work with our egoism. It turns out that egoism is very useful because we build the system of connections above it. By rising above our egoism in the form opposite to it, we discover the upper force of nature.

Egoism has an infinite number of forms of egoistic connections between us, and all of them are forms of the upper force of love and bestowal, but in reverse, like a stamp and its imprint. If not for egoism in its various forms, we would have no possibility of revealing the form of the upper force and attaining it. It would have been elusive.

But because we transform hatred into love, we reveal its shape. All of this we can experience this practically if we sit down in a circle and in half an hour through a simple conversation according to the integral methodology, we begin to discover the beautiful results of our connection.

This is despite the fact that people with opposite views, strangers to each other, are gathered in the circle. This demonstrates that, in reality, there is a positive force hidden inside the connection and it is between strangers. If they sit in the circle together and have a conversation according to the integral method, they begin to discover warmth, unity, closeness, mutual understanding, and a willingness to concede to each other.

They see in what form it is possible to connect and fulfill each other and how to help each other in the circle. From the very first attempt, they discover many laws of connection.

Our egoism is an indisputable fact, and everyone thinks in no other way than egoistically. It is also true that there is no other force in our world apart from it. All of the uniqueness of the wisdom of Kabbalah is in the fact that it knows how to extract from nature the second force that is positive and offsets the negative egoistic force to add plus to the minus, which is the force of connection.

Kabbalah And The Development Of Society

laitman_231_03Comment: I came to the wisdom of Kabbalah via Freemasonry. I was interested in its history and gradually everything related to Freemasonry came down to the wisdom of Kabbalah for me.

From an evolutionary perspective there was a breakthrough in human development when the Kabbalists met the Templars: the invention of the banking system, medical advancements, etc., which can be regarded as evolution on the level of the speaking, including fighting wars.

Then came the next phase, the 13th century in which Europe was not developed, then the 15th century when it reached unprecedented heights. Then there was the fast development of the US in the span of 200 years, which is hard to grasp. This is a purely Kabbalistic project whether we admit it or not.

Answer: This is a true account of human history, but the problem is that during these periods the wisdom of Kabbalah went along with man’s egoism, pushing and developing and helping him like a mother who teaches her small child. Therefore, our development was in the direction needed for man’s understanding.

Now, however, we have reached the next phase that is opposite from our nature. It isn’t about the establishment of the banking system and profit making, or the development of industry and making society more egoistic, closed, and intricate, but rather about a different humanity, a different kind of communication.

This is why we have to get closer to others not in order to benefit from them but to lower our ego a bit and give in to it. Then a system of mutual consent will be created, and this is already a totally different approach, a different method.

New Life 800 – Social Class

New Life 800 – Social Class
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Throughout history, class division has existed in different forms because it is human nature.

The people of Israel, in spite of a general altruistic direction, was still divided into tribes. People demand someone to be higher, that there will be a hierarchy; hence, there were kings and nobility. It is important for a person to know who he belongs to, what his position is, what role he plays. That is how the desire to receive is constructed.

In capitalism, wealth, money, controls. Today it is felt that a new control must come.

If a person is completely free, he has no point of reference; he must know the origin of his fulfillment. The need for freedom is relative; it is the freedom to determine the framework I want to exist in. Ultimately we evolve into a higher framework, which is the divine.

Throughout history we have only exchanged frameworks, we must find the form that will satisfy everyone. Different people have different tendencies, most people naturally don’t aspire to anything higher. Struggles between classes stem from our not knowing the direction nature pushes us to evolve. There should be a round pyramid where each person finds his place, but everyone is mutually connected and complements each other.

New Life 797 – The Lost Tribes Among Us

New Life 797 – The Lost Tribes Among Us
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

There is no connection between the division of the people of Israel into camps today and the division into the tribes of Israel in Biblical times.

• When the children of Israel work on the connection between them, it will be revealed who belong to which tribe and how they will reunite into tribes.
• The central motive for the method of connection is “Love covereth all transgressions” (Proverbs 10:12), i.e., we connect above all differences.
• To connect, we must first learn what human nature is, what the goal of creation is, and how to implement it.
• The connection is similar to the reconciliation process in a couple, beginning with what is good and then adding the bad.
• If we want to live well, we must learn how to connect, otherwise troubles will obligate us to connect.
• Connection will summon a power from nature that will shape us into a desired form, which is unknown to us from the start.
• Nature is the upper force, the system in which we exist, and it moves us forward in our development.
• In a state of “connection,” all are very different from each other, but we seek to complement each other.

It Is Harder To Break Ties Than To Build Them

laitman_264_01Question: The wisdom of Kabbalah is a method that teaches us how to build the right connections between people. Didn’t we need the right connections a hundred years ago or even a thousand years ago?

Answer: No, because humanity did not think that there was a need for it and did not want to hear about it. In the past people were not mutually and integrally connected around the globe, whereas today the countries in Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe, and Australia are all connected.

We see how Britain’s exit (who was already the least connected) from the European community has made everyone anxious as to where it may lead. It is much more difficult and complicated to break ties than to build them. It is like a divorce in a family that is connected by blood ties.

Question: Why was there no need to build the right connections in the family and in a nation in the past and thus balance the negative force by the positive force?

Answer: In the past the ego was not developed enough so there was no need for the integral method, whereas today the ego has become global and so it needs to be connected in a system. This system is the wisdom of Kabbalah.

How Many Years Are Left For Humanity?

laitman_742_03Question: How would you explain your claim that humanity has 223 years left to exist?

Answer: 5,777 years ago, there was a human being called Adam. He discovered that a method exists through which it is possible to attain the upper world.

We consider the day he made this discovery as his birthday. We celebrate it as Rosh Hashanah. Adam wrote about his discovery in a book called Raziel HaMalach. From that date we begin the numbering of the traditional calendar, from 5,777 years ago.

Therefore, around 200 years remain until all of humanity will attain the upper world, like Adam HaRishon (The First Man), which means we will feel our true state if we just go beyond the limitations of our ego.

Baal HaSulam explained this beautifully in his metaphor of “the worm and the radish.”

When the worm sticks his head outside of the radish and looks at the world, he sees the sun shining and birds chirping. It is amazed at how it was living in such a terrible world all the time while there was a higher world that is so wonderful.

So we also need “to go out of our radish.” Just as the bitterness of the radish stimulated the worm to crawl out of the radish, so suffering pushes us out of our world.

There is nothing interesting in our world, and true fulfillment is attained only with the help of the method of the wisdom of Kabbalah. Today all of humanity is gradually beginning to feel that our world is a “bitter radish,” so they are beginning to approach the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Why Does A Person Need To Be Educated?

laitman_546_02Question: People don’t like it when you educate them. What does the idea of education mean according to the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: If we look at animals, for example, we will see that they develop instinctively and thus learn certain skills from their parents. The mother takes the cubs hunting and helps them in every way. Nature teaches them how to adapt to the environment correctly. We can see how developed this instinct is, especially among mammals.

However, this instinct does not exist in man. If we remained on the animal level, we would be the same, of course, but since we quickly develop and in totally different directions, we often lack the understanding of how we should interact with each other.

In animals, the interaction is very simple: friend or foe, your pack or stranger. There are many possible relationships between humans. Between animals the connections are also either positive or negative. They are instinctive, whereas a man has to develop them according to a system that is unfamiliar, especially in our days when the world is becoming increasingly more mutually and integrally connected.

The human essence is absolutely the opposite of the correct relations between us, in which people refer to each other kindly, think of each other as a good family – just like their relatives who are closely connected and invoke the same response from others. Unfortunately, such a corrected attitude is not part of our nature and we are in fact the most corrupt animals. You will not find such an attitude among animals. Animals don’t harm each other; they feel no envy or jealousy. Their relations are only on the instinctive level and nothing more.

Animals examine who is strong and who is weak, and accordingly the power is distributed.Totally different impulses emerge in the human pack: cruel, conscious impulses that stem from our unrestrained egoism, which feels good when another feels bad. These impulses do not exist among animals. They act according to very simple instincts. An animal that wants to eat kills another animal but not because it wants to harm its prey. An animal doesn’t hunt more than what it needs to eat to survive, whereas man acts in an unrestrained manner ready to kill the whole world although he has no need for it.

Therefore, what we need is to educate people. We have to insert the positive force from the world around us into our cruel, negative egoistic nature.

This force is found in nature, but we have to pull it out of nature. We have to know how to extract the positive force, how to place it against the negative force, and how to raise ourselves in the connection between the two forces.
