Coronavirus Routine

962.4Question: What does it mean to live with the Coronavirus? It seems that our ego knows how to manage with anything.

Answer: No, there is no such thing as managing to live with COVID since it is a biological disease that operates against us. If we connect correctly in this war, it will guide us to the correction of the ego that is in the virus and then we will actually succeed.

It is very interesting to see how the Creator arranges us and affects us with an attack of a biological virus.

Humanity doesn’t understand yet how it should relate to what is happening. We need to explain that everything comes from nature and that the virus is an incredibly sublime factor that symbolizes the lack of the right connection on a biological level, on the levels of still, vegetative, and animate nature. The animate level touches the spiritual level. The spiritual level is called speaking, but we are not making this leap to spirituality yet so the virus pushes us and does its work.

Eventually we will discover that we have no choice and that only through working together, all of us, will we be able to eradicate the Corona pandemic. Moreover, we need to understand that we can cope with the virus only through mutual work; the virus will force us to be connected to each other in a nice, correct manner.

On The Threshold Of A New Stage

115.06Question: If everything is predetermined in terms of pleasure and suffering and if we understand where man is going and how he will behave, then why did nature do it this way? Where does it want to lead us?

Answer: Nature developed from the primordial element, a desire in its purest form, which evolved through inanimate, vegetative, and animate forms until it reached the form of “man.” Likewise, a person in our world, through his development, comes to his next form.

Each phase that we go through—inanimate, vegetative, and animate—develops itself. At each stage, according to the law of negation of negation, a person starts to feel that he can no longer remain in this state, he must radically change it, rise from it, and feel it is no longer acceptable for him.

And then the previous state degenerates and the next step manifests itself. So from the inanimate, the vegetative part of desire with corresponding vegetative nature evolves, then the animate, and then man appears.

We are now at a very interesting stage. We worked out our previous stage of development, came to its denial, the rejection of it, we see that our world and our lives are finite, flawed, and temporary, and we do not know what to do next.

We do not see the next stage yet, but the current stage is practically unbearable. We can no longer stay in it because it leads to self-destruction, terror, disintegration of families, disintegration of culture, and the end of science.

That is, we have reached the final stage in everything, but we do not see the next one yet. It should begin to reveal itself. Therefore, the science of Kabbalah is now being revealed as a means of transition to a new state.

Equilibrium With Nature From The Point Of View Of Kabbalah

707Question: Today, many agree that human problems are related to the fact that one is not in balance with nature. But everyone has different ideas regarding the actual term “equilibrium.”

In one of your conversations, you said that living in ecologically clean places, eating right, and being closer to nature does not mean being in equilibrium with it. What does a Kabbalist mean when he talks about balance with nature at the human level?

Answer: Equilibrium with nature is similarity to the Creator.

The Creator represents all of nature around us, its general law divided into a multitude of all kinds of particular laws. This is a causal relationship between all natural phenomena, the implementation of this law in life at the inanimate, plant, animal, and the human levels. All this is called nature.

If we knew this and were harmoniously connected with it, then we would really be in a state of the highest harmony, perfection, peace, and good.

The problem is that man, as the highest stage of development, is flawed in his private nature. He drives himself into a dead end because he is opposite to the general nature, which is built on bestowal, connection, interconnection, and love. Everything for him is built only on receiving, hatred, and power, he crushes everything under himself. By this, he introduces into nature tremendous disturbances not only at his own level, but also at the lower animate, vegetative, and inanimate levels. Moreover, this is the influence at a cosmic scale.

We cannot imagine how much we affect the cosmos, for billions of light years, the waves of which diverge at infinite speed, not at the speed of light. We influence the entire universe and in a very negative way. Therefore, we perceive the world in a dark form. For example, a person gets up in the morning in a bad mood and everything around him is bad, like as they say, a “rainy day.” And another time, on the contrary, the same day, but something shines on him.

Thus, in contradiction with nature, with its property of bestowal and love, we simply destroy the whole world. We need balance with it.

Two Systems Of Balance

546.02In the process of integral studies, people change, they become a little closer to connection with each other. Imbued with the fact that nature is integral and we are a cancerous tumor in it, they already understand that there is no use holding on to the past and that it is impossible to manage today with the old methods they were taught; therefore, everything in the world is falling apart.

Why do we have such discord in the family, at work, between countries, and even in nature itself? Because we do not know how to behave correctly inside what is called society and nature.

The most comfortable state that a person can have is being in balance with the surrounding nature. That is, there are two systems here: one system is me, within me, which must be in balance; and around me, there is the second system, nature, which itself is in balance.

I induce destabilization in it, and therefore it turns out that it gives me negative feedback and presses on me. As a result, my entire internal system (health, psyche, etc.) goes beyond the norm.

In addition, we affect nature negatively; climate, pressure drops, and everything else depend on us. We do not even know what we are affecting. There are a lot of parameters in nature that are unknown to us. Most importantly, because of evolution we ourselves change and reach a state in which we do not want anything. This is the problem. To solve it, we need to get in balance with nature.

“Why Are So Many People Dying Taking Photographs And Selfies?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Why are so many people dying taking photographs and selfies?

They mostly fail to realize the risk in what they are doing at the time of the photograph or selfie.

Showing ourselves off to others in risky situations gives us very powerful feelings of being special and standing out among the crowd.

The fact that such deaths continue rising is testimony to the fact that the human ego constantly grows, and blinds more and more of us from considering the consequences of our actions.

When taking a risky photograph or selfie, we consider the triumph of the human ego: “Look at me! Look where I am!” The strength of this ego boost often outweighs the risk involved in making the photograph or selfie. We think about the virality of the photo, all the eyeballs, likes and shares that it will get—and it clouds the risk in the current moment. We end up paying for that moment with our life.

Such situations should lead us to the conclusion that we need seek a remedy for our overblown egoism. We correct our egoism by rising above it. Unfortunately, the method for rising above the ego is mostly unknown, so people have no such thoughts, and also fail to acquire any such abilities. As a result, suffering accumulates more and more in humanity.

Rising above the human ego means learning how to control it. We cannot and should not try to run away from or diminish the ego, but rather learn how to relate properly to it: to take it by the reins and guide it in a way that lets us release it slowly and in proportions that, at the very least, do not cause harm to ourselves or to others, and in addition, to benefit others. By doing so, we will reach the realization that the ego comes to help us rise above it. However, we require a method that guides this elevation, otherwise we will continue falling victim to the ego’s impulses.

Based on “News with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman” on October 11, 2021. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

The Beginning Of The “Human” Level

571.04Question: It would be wrong to treat a person only as a protein body. Why are we originally created so that there are two levels in us: “animal in man” and “man in man”?

Answer: The fact is that we have been developing for many thousands of years. But this development in us is, in general, primitive. See what the media is filled with today.

We do not know how to raise children. I do not see that a good world has been prepared for them. Why can’t we do this? We are, after all, human!

But we are worse than animals. Animals try to equip themselves and their offspring as much as possible. We deliberately create an uncomfortable, inconvenient, unsafe world for our offspring, and we generally don’t know what will happen tomorrow. We, parents, are preparing bad conditions for the next generation. Is this rational?

Question: But you say that in man everything is inherent in nature, he is completely controlled by it. So does nature push us to take such unreasonable actions?

Answer: Quite right. Nature pushes a person to unreasonable actions in order to bring him to the understanding that he needs to do something with himself, with the environment, and with the nature that dominates him and leads him to self-destruction.

This is where the “human” level begins in a person. When he realizes that his nature is evil, that he is ruled by evil forces, he will begin to ask the questions: “Why? What for? Why is everything arranged this way? What is the meaning of my existence? After all, it is useless, imperfect. I personally would not design it that way for my son or grandson.”

This suffering and awareness accumulates in us from generation to generation and leads us to the understanding that we need to understand this life, we need to do something with it. People start to engage in terrorism, using drugs, getting divorced, and breaking up families, they are unable to create anything. But all this is accumulating suffering that will ultimately lead to the need to find a true solution.

Every Man For Himself

962.1Question: What is the greatest danger that you see as a result of the fact that trust between the individual and society is breaking down?

Answer: A person who loses touch with his nation, his state, and the land itself, does not care whether he lives here or any other place. If he does not feel that the government represents him, it is not important for him to fight for the government either. There is no connection to nationality here, and that is the problem.

The education that we have received is that a person should care about himself, and that if you are happy here—fine. And if not, you can look for another place on the globe. If you succeed, it is fine. But what is important is not to be a sucker.

Insidious Human Nature

115.05Question: What exactly should a person recognize as evil?

Answer: Our egoism, our attitude toward each other.

At all stages of development we used our will to receive because this is our nature. Now, however, it manifests itself as egoistic, as especially evil in relation to other people.

Everything in the world is built on in order to receive pleasure, not just at the expense of another when we earn together as partners or give each other pleasure as spouses.

A person receives pleasure precisely when he rises above the other, humiliates the other. This is where the last egoistic form manifests itself and to define it as evil, as the next form that should be opposite to it—good, love, connection over egoism, over hatred—this is a very difficult transition.

The wisdom of Kabbalah should help us understand this and go through this quickly and painlessly.

Comment: I think many people will disagree with you that we use others and humiliate them.

My Response: We do this automatically. We are attuned in this way and we do not even realize what we are in.

Even while having a pleasant conversation, each of us tries to be above the other, tries to position himself so as to look better, to present himself more favorably in order to capture the attention of others even just a little. Our entire nature consists of such veiled forms.

Returning To Harmony With Nature

559Question: In one of the lessons about The Book of Zohar you discussed the fact that prototypes of two forces— male and female, bestowal and reception—are the two luminaries, the moon and the sun. Why is a woman more affected by the moon? Even her pregnancy is set according to the lunar calendar.

Answer: A lot is said about this not only in The Book of Zohar but also in other Kabbalistic sources.

Our entire spiritual essence is built on the connection between reception and bestowal, the power of Zeir Anpin and Malchut, which in our world are represented by the sun and the moon. Therefore, we on Earth are under the ruling of these two forces.

All of nature is very sharply divided into male and female parts. The male part is identified with the sun and the female part with the moon. This comes from the opposition of these two forces of nature, and man exists in order to bind them together.

Once upon a time, in the early stages of human development, we were not so egoistic and did not resist nature and its harmony. We were close to it, we were more inside it. Therefore everything that happened in nature happened to us in the same sequence, at the same pace, with the same fluctuations. In particular, the women’s cycle began on the new moon for every woman in the world.

And why wouldn’t it be so if it was clearly built in accordance with lunar cycles? Contrary to lower animals, humans can conceive throughout the year. But we went through such stages in our development when women could conceive only at a certain time, and birth took place exactly after nine months.

There were no premature births in those days. It is a frequent phenomenon today because egoism introduces such distortions in us that alienate us from nature. We know how much our body is now not adapted to nature. We can no longer live without plastic, and we will probably just get poisoned with natural products.

So, we cannot talk today about how to come back to some kind of harmony with nature through ordinary means. Although people try to somehow maintain their connection, this is no longer possible.

And in the past, we really fully felt nature, felt the weather in advance, all kinds of climatic changes, the breath of nature. That is what people who are inside nature and know what will happen to them feel. That is, nature is actually something deeper, more voluminous, and more transparent than what we are used to see when looking at the world around us.

Question: When Kabbalists talk about balance with nature, do they urge us to return to the past state?

Answer: It is not about that but about how we really rise to the correct level of nature.

Our current state is, in principle, correct. It takes us out of the fact that we are inside nature and makes us rise above it, and rise not in an artificial form when we create some kind of artificial habitat, but rise to the level of the force that manages this nature.

It is called the Creator, the power of bestowal, the power of love, the relationship between all parts of nature. We must rise to the level of this force and become adequate to it.

“Tough Times Ahead” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “Tough Times Ahead

Transition periods are always prone to trouble. We are living through one of the most volatile transition periods in human history as we are rising from a self-centered mindset to a more holistic one where we are interdependent, interconnected, and consider the well-being of others in our actions. Regrettably, while in transition, our rebellious egos are driving us to increasingly dangerous extremes that put us and all of society at risk. The sooner we become aware that we are in transition, the better our chances of going through the change peacefully and quickly.

In order to recognize that we are in transition, that we are too interconnected to ignore the needs of others, we must establish educational systems that will bring it to our awareness. Therefore, humanity’s greatest challenge right now is education.

Ideally, world leaders should have been the leaders of the transition. They are in a natural position to initiate and head the process. Regrettably, today’s leaders have such hearts of stone that they will simply not be able to hear about these ideas. It is not as though I have given up, because I haven’t, but we have to acknowledge where we stand. At the same time, I know we must continue.

We are all pleasure seeking beings; this is our nature. Therefore, we will not change our way of life unless we suffer in the present one, or some great reward beckons us and we are sure we will receive it.

We understand only two things: pleasure or pain. This is why humanity will change either because it is suffering in the state of absolute selfishness, or because it sees a guaranteed reward in the state of mutual responsibility and caring for others. Right now, people prefer to wait for more pain to convince them to move to a more collaborative disposition.

This is why education is so important. If people are convinced that all the beatings we suffer are the result of our selfishness, they will want to get rid of it. If we believe that the ego can still give us benefits that nothing else can, we will remain with our egos until pain convinces us to leave it.
