The Beginning Of The Development Of The Altruistic Property

232.07Question: In spirituality, there is the concept of three days of semen absorption in the womb. What do these three stages mean?

Answer: These are not three stages but three forces: right, left, and middle, which must unite and continue their development.

Intrauterine development in the corporeal world lasts 38 weeks—about nine months. This corresponds to the nine Sefirot through which the embryo develops. His corporeal development proceeds in the same way as the development of a spiritual embryo.

Question: In the first eight weeks, the embryo is called “embryo,” and then “fetus.” In Kabbalah, it is believed that fetal formation takes place within 40 days. Why?

Answer: In the first three days, the semen attaches to the uterine wall. Then 40 days of initial fetal development follow. And then: three months plus three months plus three months of fetal development.

We will not analyze each stage now because they contain such parameters that even our medicine does not know.

Question: In one of your teacher’s articles it is written that the Creator places one form inside another—an altruistic form begins to unfold within our egoistic form. Is this what we are talking about?

Answer: Yes. In Hebrew, this is called “Tzor tzura betoch tzura“: within the egoistic desires that make up our nature altruistic desires begin to develop, properties of bestowal and love, the ability to feel others.

That is, conception, germination, development is the beginning of the development of an altruistic property.

Musk Will Not Get An Answer From The Universe

507.05In the News (sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com): “Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, said ‘ I’m not religious in a traditional sense, because you know I was raised in a scientific school of thought. But at the same time I do wonder — where does all of this come from? What’s the meaning of life? How did we get to be here? What are even the right questions to ask? I would say that … philosophy is to expand the scope and scale of our mind so that we are able to ask the right questions about the universe.'”

Question: Will he get an answer from the universe: who are we, where did we come from, why?

Answer: No. Never. And everything he does is all children’s games because this does not refer to the essence of life, to the essence of a person. This is all external and very mechanical.

What will he find—where to move? We spoiled the Earth, now we will spoil Mars.

Comment: But he already plans to relocate a million people to Mars by 2060.

My Response: Suppose they live there, grow in numbers, even produce their own food and everything. What next? There is no life here and there will be no life over there.

Question: That is, he will not get an answer to questions that have been asked: what is life? How did we get here? What are we living for?

Answer: No. From life itself you will not reveal its source. You must leave this life and then you will find out where it comes from.

Leaving is not the same as dying. To die is to die. To leave life is to rise above it. It is not on Mars.

Question: Have you ever dreamed about it?

Answer: Did I ever! I was ready, put me in a rocket, lift me up somewhere, fly! And coming back, let me burn in the atmosphere.

Comment: That is, you wanted to research, get scientific evidence. And somewhere, this system collapsed.

My Response: Futility. Pointlessness. Well, suppose we take root on Mars, and then somewhere else, and on some other star, and on some dead cosmic body. What next? Where are you going from there? Will you live 1,000 years instead of our standard 100, or a million years? That is even worse. If you do not have a serious, correct task suitable for so many years, then living 1,000 years is a horror!

Even with these years that we have now, we do not know what to do. We do not know! Try to close people off now so they cannot fly back and forth, travel on vacation or anywhere else. Close the way they live: sit, get your living wage, and that is it. And what will they do? People will start killing themselves and each other out of despair.

Question: And if a person still has these questions: “Where did we come from? What is the meaning of life? How did we get here?”

Answer: These questions will come, but they will come in a couple of years when people stop playing such games.

Question: That is, a person now has different needs?

Answer: You see if there is an end at all, it means that it will happen now or in a thousand years, it does not matter. Moreover, I cannot fill these 1,000 years with anything. What, am I going to look at these soulless cosmic bodies?

Question: Is this all not filled with the main meaning—the meaning of life for you?

Answer: No. I really wanted to find the meaning in this and could not find anything. It does not make any sense.

Still, vegetative, and animate nature cannot fill a person who is at the next level of development. And we can fill a person only if we give him knowledge, consciousness, a feeling of an even higher force than the person himself, than our nature, the higher nature, the Creator, as we call it. This is possible.

And we cannot do this with our own hands physically. Only from inside: to give birth yourself, raise yourself to the next level. But how can we do that? By uniting with each other! Just as all nature originated from the Big Bang, we must go back through that point that exploded and gave birth to our world and go there—into what was before the explosion.

Question: That is, this is how we pass through this tunnel and suddenly the world opens up to us?

Answer: Yes! A great world.

Conscious Development

237Comment: In the spiritual world, the act of conception, birth, and development is accompanied by rage, anger, even suffering. After all, a person is forced to go by faith above reason as if with his eyes closed.

My Response: Only at the beginning. And then it happens inside a person in his
constant tension to keep the intention for bestowal, for love, and for connection with others and with the Creator.

Question: You write that to annul oneself to the upper is a very hard work. What is this annulment?

Answer: It is in suppressing one’s egoism and gradually rising above it to bestowal, love, altruism. All these efforts take place inside a person.

If in an ordinary embryo  it happens automatically that it, as it were, annuls itself in relation to the mother so that it develops, then here, we do everything consciously.

Replacing The Old Generation

623Question: Will the way to rise above one’s nature take place through political reorganization or through some kind of ethical and moral one?

What should be first here, what should be the second? Or will ethical and moral awareness entail a change in political instruments and the appearance in the politics of people who will understand this and will move toward it?

Answer: I think that modern politicians, scientists, and leaders will not even be able to understand this, let alone realize it. They will not be able to take part even in the change of society. These are the wrong people, the wrong generation. A new one must come. It is already slowly growing out of the children of these same people.

To Harden The Hearts Of Kings

232.01Prophets, Joshua 11:18-11:20: Joshua made war a long time with all these kings. There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon; they took all in battle.

For it was from the Lord to harden their hearts, (that they should come) against Israel in battle, that they might destroy them completely, and that they might have no favor, that they might destroy them as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Comment: The Creator hardens the hearts of kings—that is, egoistic desires—for war and says to Israel: “I have weakened them, go and take them.”

My Response: This is about our inner desires which we must cover with the intention “for the sake of the Creator” and transform from reception into bestowal. Yet not by our actions but by our intentions. That is the whole problem. With intentions, you do not know how much work you still have to do and whether you are doing it correctly because you must act completely on your own. And when the Creator indicates against whom to act there is no choice.

Question: But at the same time, the Creator also points to egoistic desires: “Stand up, fight against Israel!” He confronts me with my desires. And this is called help?

Answer: The Creator’s help is in that you are defeated. In the state of descent you discover your weakness, complete powerlessness, and you can ask. You must not defeat anyone except your egoism! Therefore, all the work is aimed at weakening your ego.

Your “I” is the intention: what you want to achieve! And your nature is the egoistic desire. And that is why such a duality awakens in you all the time.

Question: And what is not mine in me?

Answer: The intention to give, to love, to connect with others. Something that sometimes awakens in you and subconsciously does not give you peace. This is not yours; it is the help of the Creator from above.

Question: And I ask for this to come?

Answer: Yes, although you do not ask for it yourself. The Creator awakens this request in you and provides all possible assistance. And help can be “for” and “against.”

In this case, the help is “against” when egoistic desires are heated up and they say: “Go to Israel!” This is the same as when the Creator said to Moses: “Come unto Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart.” That is, “I have warmed him up against you. So, he is ready. But I am with you, don’t worry, go!”

“An Army Can’t Defeat Guerilla Fighters” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “An Army Can’t Defeat Guerilla Fighters

The United States’ chaotic retreat from Afghanistan is not the first time that the Afghans have pushed an army of a superpower out of their country. The one before them was that of Russia. It is also not the first time that the US has been forced out of a country by a militia. Vietnam, Iraq, and Korea were also among America’s military botched attempts to instate a pro-American government.

Guerilla warfare is the hardest to win for an organized army. It roars in with tanks and fighter jets but it can’t do anything if no tanks or fighter jets meet it, but partisans, guerilla fighters, or simply, terrorists. The only way to defeat partisans is with other partisans.

This brings up the question of motivation. Militias consist of amateur fighters, adolescents, semi-trained individuals whose only advantage is their zeal to protect their country and their faith. They know they have to win since they are fighting for the only land they’ve got. The enemy’s soldiers, on the other hand, are fighting because they are paid to do so. They have superior weaponry, superior logistics, superior training, but no motivation to risk their lives. Fighting for the principle of freedom? No one really fights for it. No one even thinks about it!

The pullout from Afghanistan will not end America’s woes there. Along with its European allies, America will have to pay heavily for the Taliban to let them out. In the coming months, we will see more and more bodies being flown out of there until America pays the Taliban what they want, and they will want a lot.

Anyone can see that the future of today’s established countries is grim. Countries such as the US, France, Russia, the UK, and Germany are already paying hefty sums to keep themselves intact, but they are disintegrating from within.

It is no one’s fault; it is the recurring historic process by which countries are born, live, and die. Once countries reach a certain peak, they dim and step down from history’s spotlight. The same will happen to China, though it is not there yet.

Nevertheless, in some countries decay has begun even though they have only recently begun to shine. Look at what is happening in Brazil, Argentina, and other countries in Latin America and you will see.

In the end, the factions within countries will either collide and multiple wars will break out, or they will realize that there are no winners in these wars, and they will agree on mutual disarmament. However, such agreements can still come after very perilous situations since these fragments can be very powerful and in possession of very powerful, including nuclear weapons.

In conclusion, we are living through a historic tipping point. Either we realize that we are interdependent even if we hate each other and decide to unite above our hatred, or we will let hatred win and destroy the vast majority of humanity and life on Earth.

“The Elusive “Facts” About How Life Begins” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “The Elusive “Facts” about How Life Begins

Over the past two decades, several studies have been published, which refute much of what we thought we knew about how human eggs are fertilized in the womb. It turns out that the egg is not at all passive, but seems to “choose” the sperm cell that eventually penetrates it and gives it its chromosomes. Also, the strongest and fastest sperm cell is not necessarily the one that will fertilize the egg; sperm cells move in groups that “help” each other through the acidic environment that the egg creates around it, and other revelations that science did not know before.

There is a lot more we don’t know, a lot more that we will learn, and in twenty years, today’s revolutionary discoveries will be refuted and give way to new ones, which will, in turn, be refuted again some years later. In fact, every scientific “fact” should have an asterisk next to it that reads, “until proven otherwise.” The truth, it seems, is as elusive as a shadow: Once you turn on the light, it vanishes.

Science can be used to make life better or worse. However, in order for it to make life better, we ourselves need to be better. Currently, we use science almost exclusively to make money and to build weapons. In other words, science is used to exploit, extort, intimidate, and control other people. The discoveries we make, even about such innocent things as conception, aim only to benefit the companies and institutions that carry out the research. If we want to change that, we must change our mindset.

Moreover, our self-centered approach blinds us to the interconnections that make up all of nature’s systems. It is as if we are observing a part of a machine, but not how it operates in the machine, what influences it, how it is connected to other parts in the machine, or what the whole machine is for. In such a state, can we draw correct conclusions from our observation?

Currently, we focus only on ourselves. We see ourselves as separate entities huddled together against their will in a hostile environment. In truth, however, all elements in creation are connected and dependent on each other. Consciously or not, we maintain among us ties of mutual responsibility where the prosperity of one element in reality guarantees the prosperity of all the others.

We can understand each element only in the context of its function and position in the whole of nature. We, too, are a part of nature, so we must find our rightful place in it, where we benefit from nature and equally benefit all other elements in it. Until we understand this, we will not understand nature, or any part of it, including ourselves or how we are made.

Just as it is impossible to understand the heart unless we see how it operates in a living body, we cannot understand any element before we see it operating in reality. Until we see the big picture, all the “facts” we know are fiction.

When we begin to function with everyone’s benefit in mind, we will begin to truly understand reality. Until then, we will keep making mainly false discoveries that do not last, do not yield lasting relief, and certainly not happiness.

“What Do We Do If All The Chinese Want To Own A Car?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What do we do if all the Chinese want to own a car?

Nothing would change in the world and in ecology, even if everyone would get a car, and even if more than one. Let there be seven or fourteen billion private automobiles in the world. That is not how we evoke ecological disasters. They are sparked by flawed human relations.

We need to understand that ecological disasters take place not due to our technologies, and not at the still, vegetative or animate levels of nature. They are caused at the human level. We, at the level of our interrelations, carry disaster to the other levels of nature. Such disasters in the spheres of ecology, health, depression, drug abuse, divorce, and literally all other problems—come from nature only afterward, in order to prod us toward understanding the cause of these problems. The cause is on a higher level. In nature, the problem always descends from the higher level to the lower levels, and from there, the whole system is brought into action.

I hope that in the search for salvation from these disasters, which appear to us as disasters on our egoistic level, we will have to reject our egoism and understand that we can be in balance with nature on the still, vegetative and animate levels only thanks to the human level—by treating each other with love and understanding. We will then bring unity to nature as a whole and achieve balance with the general nature.

Based on a Q&A with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman on September 9, 2006. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

What Material Is The Screen Made Of?

232.05Question: What material is the screen made of?

Answer: The screen is made only from the connection between the quality of bestowal and the quality of reception; when I rise above them, I start taking from above what I need from them and putting them together in the right combination with each other.

Question: At the same time, is there also a third force, the Creator?

Answer: The third force is called the screen.

Question: As far as I understood, if we, people, were engaged in the correlation of the right and left side and found such a screen, would we get away from wars, from any problems?

Answer: Naturally! Each of us and all of us together would be engaged in the correct combination of our negative and positive qualities so that they complement each other. And so we would achieve harmony every time. This is what we must do.
