Passover From The Point Of View Of Modern Realities, Part 9

400Question: Now we see that American Jews, extreme left-wing and totally against Israel, still feel like Jews. In Israel itself, there is a diversity of opinions and attitudes. How can such a large and diverse nation feel that we are in Egypt and choose this road?

Answer: The people are not numerous, it is just that each Jew is “too much.” Each of them represents a huge number of inner people within him. Therefore, it seems to us that there are many of them and they are everywhere. Sometimes it seems that there is no one else in this world except the Jews.

This is a special quality that is manifested in humanity this way. I hope that humanity will very quickly realize this in the kind sense of the word and understand what to do with it.

What should Jews do? There is only one way out—to unite in a good way. If not, then instead of the good Pharaoh who was in Egypt during their first seven years, there will be an evil Pharaoh during their second seven years.

Seven years are not years, but the period of government—Hesed, Gevura, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut. It is the upper system of control that descends and governs in a good way, and if not, it also turns around and begins to govern in an evil way. If you do not understand in a good way, it will be in a bad way.

As a result, it turned out that Jews left Egypt a little earlier. This is done on purpose.

Although it was predicted that they would be in Egypt for four hundred years, since all four stages of self-awareness and egoism and the exit it from it must be completely passed (by the name of the Creator—Yud-Hey-Vav-Hey,—Keter, Hochma, Bina, Zeir Anpin, Malchut), but they stayed there for only two hundred and ten years because the so-called years fall on the rest of the period before our time. But even in our time, we are still in exile.

By exile, we mean spiritual exile, not physical. The fact that we ended up here or someone ended up in America and the person says: “I am not in exile, I am in the holy land”—this is all wrong. We are still in exile.

You Must Not Seek Fame For Doing Good Deeds

962.2Comment: Iliya writes to us: “I watched your video clip where you say that if you want to help someone, you must not expect any kind attitude, or gift, or gratitude, not even simple “thank you,” nothing. This is what you call real help. But this is impossible. To do something good and not to expect at least a grateful glance or a smiley face for it. Dear Michael Laitman, this is utopia! You have to agree that this just cannot be!”

My Response: I understand you. It is really very difficult, even impossible. However, if at the same time you think that you are bringing a good force, a good state into the world, then your self-esteem, the greatness of your action, will increase.

Question: Does pride also increase at the same time?

Answer: No. Provided you think that you want to make the world better, to bring kindness to the world.

Question: If I do a good deed and think that I will get a thank you, some gift, even a small smiley face, or at least a grateful look, do you think this is not a good deed?

Answer: You are doing business at the same time. One will say thank you, give you a look, a woman will smile, a child too.

Comment: And right away I begin to feel good.

My Response: Yes, of course.

Comment: What you are suggesting is a very tall order.

My Response: No. Anyone in the world can say that our world needs kindness or it will fall apart, and let us arrange so that we just think about how to bring good actions, deeds, and good force into it. Let us do it and be thankful that our egoism allowed us to do it.

Comment: That sounds really nice.

My Response: Yes. Is this a big deal? Can you do this?

Comment: But I am an egoist by nature.

My Response: But you do give pleasure to your egoism: “I will do good for the world.” I can respect myself for this.

Question: Does this require some kind of preliminary education or is a person really capable of it?

Answer: I need to calibrate myself so that I respect myself for this.

Question: How will the world change then?

Answer: The world will change for the better. I will suddenly begin to see a lot of good in the world instead of what I see today, that there is only evil in it.

Question: Is it just because I changed my intention?

Answer: Yes. After all, it all depends on how I look at the world.

Question: That is, I am changing and the world is changing?

Answer: Exactly!

Question: Is it possible?

Answer: It depends on you! So, it is possible.

Assembling A System Of Separate Desires

929Question: Why is it so difficult in our world to kindle a desire in people to attain and discover the upper light, the Creator?

Answer: A system exists in which an immense number of desires are concentrated. In the initial state, all of its parts were connected and the system was in an absolutely balanced state of eternity and wholeness.

After that, a breakage occurred, meaning that the connection between the parts in the system disappeared. Those broken parts that do not make it possible for the system to connect are called, “egoism.”

Why is this good? It is because the creature became distant from the Creator and therefore independence appeared in it. A system that was completely similar to the Creator became contrary to Him.

After the breakage, the system continued its egoistic development to our world. We have reached a situation in which the egoistic forces have become in complete control over the entire system. But the Ohr Makif (Surrounding Light), the Creator, still continues to operate on it.

He is beginning to shape the system, taking out and isolating the outermost circle first, then the next circle and so on, from a small egoism to a bigger and bigger egoism to the biggest egoism.

Under the influence of the light, the system first began to recover on the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature. But when it reached the human level, a problem appeared since here a conscious understanding was required, which is where we are found, and it is up to us to assemble and manage it ourselves. In this way our mission is concluded.

Starting with our time, the system has stopped developing; it completed its development in the previous form on the still, vegetative, and animate levels, and we have reached the human level. A conscious attitude, an understanding of what we are doing is required here. So, we are living in a time which is not simple.

We must restore and reconstruct among us all of the various parts, gather and assemble the entire system into a single whole.

To do this, we must unite and participate in its assembly. How can we do this? Humanity is constantly trying to assemble itself because nature and society are pushing it toward this, but nothing has been successful. This is because to do that, we must arouse the higher power so that it will influence us.

The wisdom of Kabbalah has been given to us for that purpose. It explains how to attract the same force that will shape us. We just need to ask correctly. Before we ask, we must formulate the question, the need. It is precisely for this purpose that we are studying. Where are we, what must we ask, how do we ask? Which is to say, how do we develop a desire that is ready to correct. The entire wisdom of Kabbalah is preparing us just for this.

The Correct Algorithm Of Behavior

707The correct algorithm of behavior is harmony with nature from which we will understand what the “human” level means. We see and study the animal level. And what does the “human” level mean? We do not know how nature created it.

Inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature exist instinctively, they are subject to strict laws that are implemented unquestioningly. And man was created with freewill in order to learn from nature how he should act, agree with, and perform these actions. Then he will be happy.

The law of equilibrium is the basic law of all nature. If there is no balance, then problems immediately arise. As in our body, the pressure goes up, the temperature rises, some other parameters change, and a person immediately falls ill, since his internal systems are not balanced.

We are the same with regard to nature. Heat, cold, change in atmospheric pressure, natural disasters, all these are changes between different systems of nature.

Nature created us so that we ourselves can discover the formula for our balance with it. And then we will become as absolute, harmonious, perfect, and even eternal, as nature itself. But we must get to this by ourselves.

Question: Is the “human” level the level of balance with nature?

Answer: Absolutely! Moreover, it is according to man’s choice, man’s effort, unlike all other parts of nature that are in natural, instinctive balance with it.

Having reached balance with nature, a man will receive complete pleasure. All his desires will be fulfilled.

Kabbalistic Approach To Perceiving The Reality

214Question: What is included in the individual consciousness and what is included in the collective one?

Answer: Individual and collective consciousness are usually considered from the point of view of psychology and disclosure of reality. In Kabbalah we are dealing with somewhat different things. Here we must change our primordial natural properties and give them a completely different possibility of perception.

Then it turns out that people who can change their perception of reality, that is, receive reality unperturbed by their egoism, perceive it as it is. The rest of the people, born in egoism, receive a reality that passes through their selfish desires. Accordingly, it is modeled in them, and through this modulation, it is perceived by a person according to how he wants to see it.

So, the difference is very big. All scientists and all existing sciences are in an egoistic reality, and naturally Kabbalists do not have a common field of communication with them due to completely different conditions of perception. Therefore, it is impossible to talk about something in general.

Any science is not just an individual comprehension by a person, but is the extension of data to other people who are in the same style of perception, and they can perceive, reflect, and visualize. Therefore, Kabbalah is secret science. It is revealed only to those who comprehend it in their new properties.

I cannot imagine how can some addition to other sciences can be made from it or somehow connect with them. After all, a person must acquire new properties.

To A Single Field Of Consciousness

928Question: How is the information field related to the concept of the soul of the first person or Adam HaRishon? Moreover, phenomena such as consciousness are purely spiritual phenomena. Is it possible to trace some kind of connection in this?

Answer: The soul is an information field. Consciousness is also a field. They resonate and affect the still, vegetative, and animate nature. Not being isolated from it, they affect the material world, and it, in turn, affects this information field. So everything is in dynamic interaction.

But when we come to the level of influence on the spiritual field, the field of the mind, the field of information records, then we do not need to work with matter because it is a very rough, very weak instrument of influence on the field of information.

With the help of Kabbalah, we rise to the level of this field and are included in it, like resonators, peculiar antennae that excite this field. This is our strength.

All this must be aroused in order for this field to act on all its elements and bring them to one single whole, to become a huge single field of consciousness. The science of Kabbalah pushes us to ensure that our influence through our desires on the information fields would create such conditions when these fields and these desires would be combined together into one single field.

This will be what Einstein dreamed of, although he was hardly thinking about a unified theory of a unified field.
This will be the soul of the first person.

Malchut—Meeting Place With The Creator

936Comment: The commandment “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain” corresponds to the act of creation “Let the heavenly waters flow into one place.”

My Response: Heaven is the quality of Bina, from which all the upper light descends, and these streams (32 in total) slowly descend into one common soul that we must form out of ourselves.

As a rule, we gather all our actions, thoughts, and feelings together and aim them at the Creator. But here it says that He directs all His streams of water to us, to Malchut.

Malchut is the spiritual place where all souls who want to come into contact with Him gather. This is a place of meeting with the Creator. Both we and the streams of water from the Creator rush there.

The upper waters are the upper light, the light of Hassadim (the light of mercy).

In fact, all the commandments that are repeated in two ways, referring to the act of creation, first speak of a movement from below-up, from the souls to the place of meeting with the Creator, and then from the Creator to the same place of meeting with the souls, explaining how we should come to our common place of meeting.

Passover From The Point Of View Of Modern Realities, Part 8

570Comment: Before leaving Egypt, the Creator gives an edict: sacrifice a lamb, keep it at home for 14 days, tie it to a bed.

My Response: All the problems that we see in the text must be understood correctly. We are talking about a person, about his inner qualities. The lamb represents the quality of Bina, which develops in us. Herbs, earth, wine, the burning bush, etc., symbolize everything that happens inside a person.

A person is a small world, he contains absolutely all the qualities of our world. The fact that the world seems to exist outside of us is actually a reflection of what is inside of us.

That is, I see a table in front of me, because its state is inside of me, and therefore it seems to me that it exists. There are my hands lying on this table right now. In fact, there are no hands, no table, nothing. These are just my inner qualities, which paint reality for me in this way.

And the same Egypt, and the same Pharaoh with all the huge pyramids—all this exists only within us.

Comment: If we take the last sacrifice, then the lamb in ancient Egyptian mythology is a deity.

My Response: The Jews bred them, killed them, and ate them.

Comment: They were sacrificed. The Creator said: “Sacrifice it in a certain way.”

My Response: Precisely because the Jews killed and consumed these lambs for egoism, that is, for the Egyptians who are in us, this is sacred, and for the quality of ascent to the Creator, on the contrary, it is an opportunity to rise above egoism.

Question: Despite the indignation of egoism itself, right?

Answer: Sure. How else can you rise above it if you do not resent it?

Comment: It is said that the children of Israel were slaves for quite a long time.

My Response: So far, we have not been able to get out of egoism, to break away from it.

Question: So they perform a sacrifice in front of the enraged Egyptians and Pharaoh, as if they take a very decisive inner step and choose the side of the Creator, to follow Him instead of Pharaoh. To do this, there must be a great inner readiness, awareness in a person. Where does it accumulate, at what expense?

Answer: This is a conscious inner necessity that gradually manifests itself in a person, naturally, with the help of the Creator, with the help of the light. By itself, it does not originate and develop in the person himself.

After all, all these people who were called Jews, came to Egypt in order to develop their altruistic striving to connect with each other and with the Creator, and therefore to manifest the quality of the Creator. By their actions among themselves, they attract the quality of the Creator to themselves.

Question: In our time, is this readiness maturing in the Jewish people or not? Should there be a cumulative measure? How do you get to this measure so that a person actually chooses the side of the Creator and advances and fulfills one’s role?

Answer: To do this, you need to spend four hundred years in Egypt, or at least two hundred and ten years, as it really was.

Question: Do they feel that this is Egypt?

Answer: Of course! Even Abraham was in and out of Egypt. It is not a problem. To be “in Egypt” means to feel oneself in the slavery of egoism. When egoism, on the one hand, gives you everything you want in this world—take it, enjoy it—and then you throw it all away and prefer to get out of it.
