Can We Move Forward Without Descents?

laitman_260Question: Can we move forward without descents and disappointments?

Answer: No, we cannot. But we should relate to such states not as a descent, but as the revelation of even greater and greater shattering of our common soul. These are not descents, but problems that I can fix again and again.

Moreover, why should I relate to a descent negatively, with fear: “Oh, now something else will be revealed!” On the contrary, it is said that you should search for where there are more problems, like an old man who is looking for something he lost.

He knows that without these problems he will not advance. Therefore, he is called an old man, meaning a man who has wisdom and experience.

We just need to tune into the fact that there are no problems in life. It is always only the Creator’s attitude toward me that excites me in such a way that I feel the need for Him.

Flying To A Beautiful Future

laitman_928Question: How does the light decide who is worthy to cross the Machsom (barrier)?

Answer: The light operates upon us simultaneously, and according to our strength, purity, and similarity to the light, we aspire to the goal in our own individual way, at different speeds.

Try to be as close as possible to the light in your qualities and you will literally begin to fly, as if through the air, to this beautiful future.

Question: Can a Kabbalist, with the force of his screen and thought, travel in time: backward, forward, like in a time machine?

Answer: Traveling in time means having a screen. Yes, it is possible. But again, what for? There can be nothing egoistic; this is not like some kind of corporeal journey: I want to fly above the clouds.

Here I am referring to taking off with the force of my will, tremendous internal tension, by bringing myself closer to the upper qualities of bestowal and love, to a universal greater distribution. In this way, I can fly. These are all very serious efforts.

New Life 277 – The Male Brain And The Female Brain, Part 2

New Life 277 – The Male Brain And The Female Brain, Part 2
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Spiritual transcendence occurs when a person constructs himself both as a man and a woman. We perform actions as men when we help others and desire to attain spirituality. We behave as women when we receive help from others and desire to enjoy life. Completion, wholeness, and true love between the genders requires connecting through sharing a common goal: to be one and to benefit the single system in which we all live. In the state of love for others, awareness will include both genders since a whole person has both male and female aspects. In such a connection, we will find that the differences between men and women disappear in the concept of one where there is a new brain structure, a new way of life, and a new dimension.

Kabbalah And Psychology: The Teacher-Student Relationship

Laitman_524.01Remark: In Kabbalah, the relationship between teacher and student is very important. As I understand it, it is not so in psychology.

My Comment: I think that even there a person gets attached to his psychologist. But in Kabbalah, a student’s connection with his teacher is simply essential. It is necessary for a student to listen to the teacher and try to implement his advice, even if it does not seem quite real.

A teacher in Kabbalah is sort of a problem for a student: he or she has to accept the teacher and follow him contrary to common sense.

In psychology, it is clearer. Both, the psychologist and the patient are on the same egoistic level, while in Kabbalah, they are on two levels: the teacher is on the spiritual level and the student is on the material. Therefore, a problem arises.

Question: Is it true that all the advice given by a teacher-instructor in Kabbalah is incomprehensible to a student?

Answer: Its inner meaning, of course, is not clear because a student is not yet at the same level as a teacher. Psychology, in principle, is possible to study by yourself and understand what comes from where, what great psychologists say about it, etc.

That is, psychology is within the framework of rational thoughts and desires, and Kabbalah, which is outside these boundaries, is in what is called faith above reason.
