With The Book Of Zohar until the Final Correction

533.02There are nothing but five worlds (concealments) between us and the world of infinity. I must overcome this concealment.

Who is concealed from me? The force of the giver, bestowal, and love. I have to reveal it according to my equivalence of qualities with the very force of bestowal and love called the Creator.

How can I get at least some measure of equivalence with Him? I hope that The Book of Zohar will reveal some quality to me that is similar to my corrected state, the Creator, Malchut of infinity, Zeir Anpin, or light.

I am waiting for the book to act on me in such a way that I will have the quality of bestowal and love. This is why I read The Book of Zohar. Why else should I open it?

Question: Does it mean that the work with The Zohar continues throughout all 125 degrees?

Answer: Of course! This is how Baal HaSulam writes in his “Preface to The Book of Zohar.” The Zohar was written at the height of the 125 degrees.

Therefore, from the same height, from the world of infinity, it influences us and corrects us at all levels until we reach the end of correction.

And therefore, this book is our guide along the way from this moment until the end of correction.

Tuning into Revelation

165Before reading The Book of Zohar, we must attune ourselves so that this reading will benefit us. The Zohar speaks about the correction of the soul, i.e., about the correction of the connection between us, and that is why, while reading it we must try to make the corrected states described in it come true in us. This means that we desire to reveal what The Zohar is talking about.

Revelation is not understanding in the mind. How can I understand at all what I’ve never seen? It is possible to see only on condition that new modes of sensation are formed in me; vision is a sensation in our desires, our vessels of perception. And the sensation can arise only according to my special inner state when it will correspond to what is described in The Zohar.

This can be achieved only if I rise to the level of the bestower as The Zohar requires. How is this possible? If I connect with the environment, I can express the measure of my bestowal with regard to it.

Therefore, even before we open The Book of Zohar, we should strive to connect together in such a state, at such a level, and with such power that will be suitable for the revelation of The Zohar in the connection between us.

To the extent that everyone annuls themselves and we unite together in mutual bestowal and guarantee, to this extent we can reach a state in which we already feel what The Zohar is talking about, at least to a minimal degree. And all this depends only on the strength of the unity between us that must be at the height of the first spiritual degree. Then we will feel what The Zohar is talking about.

Baal HaSulam talks about this in the Introduction To The Study Of The Ten Sefirot, “Through the yearning and the great desire to understand what they are learning, they awaken upon themselves the Lights that surround their souls.” In fact, all our work is to strive to be in this state, to feel it. Therefore, all that is required of us is a desire to feel the need for the revelation.

Always Strive for Perfection!

65Question: If I begin to feel inside everything that happens in my daily life, is this a sign of progress as a result of reading The Book of Zohar?

Answer: No. When I read The Book of Zohar, there is no everyday life for me.

I have an embryo of the soul, a point in the heart, and now I am with it in the upper system that The Book of Zohar tellis about.
How can I connect, sensorially and rationally, all these properties, three lines, ascents and descents, and spiritual actions with this tiny point in which there is nothing?

That is what I am looking for. How can I stay in them, feel them, and experience them for myself there in the ZON of the Olam ha Atzilut?

I do not want anything from this world, not myself or my friends, as I perceive them in the five senses, and even more so the whole world. Why do I need it?

It does not exist, it only appears to me inside my egoism, my desire to enjoy. If I rise to a higher level, that of bestowal and faith above reason, then I will see everything differently.

I do not want to deal with this world! I just want to rise and adhere to the upper one! I approach this realistically without leaving our world.

But I study The Book of Zohar, as well as the entire science of Kabbalah, in order to reveal for myself the upper world, and not to draw it into our world. This will never happen! The spiritual world will never clothe in the corporeal one.

On the contrary, the corporeal world will rise to its roots, to the spiritual world. Through the corporeal world, I will subsequently see the spiritual one. But first one needs to perceive spirituality.

Therefore, before the beginning of the lesson, I try to disconnect from everything that I have in this world. After all, now I am studying perfection, spirituality, the Creator.

The Zohar Is for those Striving for the Light

65The Book of Zohar was written for people who want to reach the purpose of creation and strive for the reflected light to the purpose of creation, to the source.

After all, without the light it is impossible to correct our desires and reveal the Creator in them.

Therefore, The Book of Zohar, like the entire Torah, can be either the elixir of life or the potion of death.

A person should check with what intention he begins to study The Book of Zohar and the Torah in general.

If he wants to reach the light that returns to the source with the help of study, the Torah becomes for him the elixir of life, as it is said: “I created the evil inclination and I gave the Torah for its correction because the Light in it returns to the source”

If a person does not strive to be in bestowal, that is, to return to the source, but studies The Zohar driven by his will to enjoy, to be filled, and sets other goals for himself, which is called idolatry, then his study turns into the potion of death and distances a person from the purpose of creation.

Therefore, we must be careful and remember that during all our studies and especially the reading of The Zohar, we prepare our desires so that the Creator will give them the force to bestow and then be revealed in these forces of bestowal.

You Get What You Ask For

243.07Elokim [God] in the Bible. “In the beginning God created” is the Bina that emanates to the Nukva de ZA. He elicited thirteen words: THE, HEAVEN, AND-THE, EARTH, AND-THE EARTH, WAS, EMPTY, AND-CHAOTIC, AND-THE-DARKNESS, OVER, THE-FACE, OF-THE-ABYSS, AND-THE-SPIRIT…

These thirteen words imply to the same thirteen petals of the rose among the thorns, the sea that stands over the twelve oxen, which are preparation and qualification for the Assembly of Israel to receive the thirteen qualities of Rachamim (Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, Zohar for All, Vol. 1, “The Rose“, Item 1).

There are upper systems that filter and restrict the light so the lower ones can receive it. Similarly, Malchut tries to ensure that only the lights that can be received for the benefit of the lower descend from the first nine Sefirot above it.

How does Malchut know exactly what it can receive for the benefit of the lower? Everything is determined by the need of the lower, the desire they raise to it. Therefore, according to the awakening from below (Itaruta de Letata), that is, a prayer (MAN) on our part, an answer (MAD) comes to us from above.

Therefore, a person cannot complain that he does not receive. If he doesn’t ask, he doesn’t receive. If he asks, he will receive. But the request must be such that it raises the right desire, a spiritual vesselKli. Then there will be no problems and of course, you will get light into it. The request itself, in essence, is a vessel. If it is correct, the light comes.

The right request means that you feel a genuine need, a desire, for something. In essence, you always get what you ask for. So if you say the Creator causes you suffering, you asked for it. And if you claim He brings you goodness, you asked for it. You always receive according to your request.

If so, how can it be that we are asking for something bad?! Yes, we are asking for bad things. If I want to receive fulfillment in my desire to enjoy, then receive it I shall! And why do I feel bad? This already depends on the whole system. But effectively, you got what you asked for.

We do not understand how unimpeachably the Good That Does Good works; “Please, receive!” is how parents raise their children: “Do you want this? Go ahead!” And then what? “Oh, no!” “But this is what you wanted.”

This is how the Creator acts toward us also.

The Zohar Is Revealed in Me

919When we read in The Book of Zohar about the structure of upper systems, we must always—and this is the most important thing!—think about where these systems are located. They are in each of us. We have to reveal them.

When I listen to the names of Partzufim, Sefirot, and various actions—Atik, Arik Anpin, the Parsa separating one from the other, ascents, descents, connections, and separations—I have to look for only one thing: “When will I feel that all this is happening inside me?! Where are these qualities and actions in me and in my sensations? Here’s Atik. And there is Arik Anpin. And here in the middle of the Parsa it prevents me from feeling!”

All this should be revealed inside a person. After all, the spiritual is inside us. It seems to us that the spiritual world is somewhere far away, in some spaces. But we study in the “he perception of reality that we feel all reality inside ourselves and it is spiritual; it is our deepest inner layer.

Therefore, like a surgeon, I must strive to reveal within myself, in the very depths of my sensations, the upper system that The Zohar tells about.

And then, reading the words ”the upper thought, “RADLA,” “Atik,” “Arik Anpin,” and “rises to Keter,” I should try to feel how it happens within me. I want every word written in the text of The Zohar to have its own feeling in me.

I’m constantly working on it. It is called that I try to reveal spirituality. Do not forget it!

Before every lesson, before every passage that we read from The Zohar, it is necessary to return to this intention, to remember that now we are dealing with the inner part of the Torah, the inner Torah, which is revealed inside a person.

There are various thoughts, desires, and qualities within us, and in their very depths the spiritual reality is revealed, which we read about in The Book of Zohar.

Therefore all my attention and all my expectations should be focused on what I will reveal inside myself.

I take care of this all the time by first of all trying to see inside myself any movements or reactions to these words.

Even if you imagine them, it doesn’t matter. The main thing is to try to feel these inner movements in yourself.

This aspiration is in itself a prayer. We will get used to treating the text this way, and then we will add a connection between us to this habit.

After all, The Book of Zohar was written only to create a connection between us. This connection is not between the bodies, but rather inside me, between the points of all the souls that are in me.

I have to build this connection within myself, between the image of “I” and the image of “others.” In the connection, which I create inside, I build my spiritual vessel of perception, my Kli, and the spiritual will be revealed within it.

Therefore all my attention should be concentrated inside myself. And no matter the words, the texts, or their meanings, they always talk about phenomena inside me.

I don’t want to hear the word itself; I want to feel how it resonates in me. This is its meaning. After all, all words are taken from this world, but they should lead me to the feeling of the upper world that is within me.

What Does the Zohar Teach Us?

137What does The Zohar teach us? It is known from the science of Kabbalah that the Creator created one desire within which all further development takes place.

This one desire includes a huge number of private desires connected to each other in a single system called Adam, a common soul.

Then according to His program, the Creator began to destroy the connection that exists between the parts of that very desire.

They begin to lose connection with each other, like in a sick body whose organs cease to interact correctly with each other, which leads to an imbalance, and what we feel are the symptoms of the disease: the pressure or temperature increases, the content of chemicals, the composition of blood, etc., meaning, the body does not balance itself. It’s a disease.

Why does the Creator do this to souls? So that we feel the corruption and then correct it.

This disease penetrates into our original state, corrupts the connection between us that make us parts of a single system, and we begin to feel less and less connected to each other.

In this loss of connection between us there are 125 degrees of descent from infinity from where we are infinitely connected to each other to a state in which this connection completely disappears.

And even more than that, when descending the 125 degrees, at the level called Parsa, an even greater damage occurred and instead of a positive connection, following its absence, a new negative connection was formed.

And now everyone wants to use others for their own benefit. The body does not just die, but completely devours itself.

This fall into the desire for the sake of receiving, into the desire to use others, continues further, until it reaches a state in which we absolutely lose all connection with each other, both a positive connection for the sake of bestowal and a negative connection for the sake of receiving, which brings us in complete contradiction to the spiritual and absence of awareness or knowledge of it. This is a consequence of our separation from each other.

And then we feel this world—an imaginary reality. Why is it imaginary? Because it was specially created by the Creator to give us the illusion of His absence.

What should we do? We need to understand that we have to fix the connection between us. As the connection between us increases, the soul rises from the sensation of our world to infinity. Reconnecting between us creates an ascent.

Therefore, as far as we can imagine our states in connection with all souls, all parts of creation together, we will increase our enjoyment of The Book of Zohar.

After all, it is written from the height of infinity. The authors of The Book of Zohar wrote this work from where they were connected together at the height of 125 degrees.

Therefore, when studying The Zohar, we should feel the desire to connect together. There is no need for special wisdom. It is enough to remember that we comprehend everything only in connection with each other.

And in fact, The Zohar speaks only about the connection of souls. It explains to me what my connection is with the universal system called Adam, with all the other souls, and how I must use this to connect them all together into a corrected, healthy, and properly functioning system.

This is all The Zohar talks about. It explains that I am here to perform this correction action for everyone, etc.

Just Agree—And It Will Be Revealed!

530It does not matter from which part and exact place we begin to read The Zohar. Even if a person hears a lesson for the first time, it doesn’t matter at all. “There is no time in the Torah“; it talks about spiritual states and all this happens inside us, but we do not feel it yet.

But it doesn’t matter. It is important for us to awaken the light that is in The Book of Zohar, which is the highest, most faithful and powerful source. No book can even compare with The Book of Zohar in its effect on the soul.

To summon its light upon oneself so that it affects us is possible only by becoming like it in qualities. Therefore, we read The Book of Zohar together, meaning, first of all, before we open this Book, everyone should prepare themselves for connection with others.

It is also written about the gift of the Torah that if you agree (it is clear that you are unable to, but only agree!) to become “like one person with one heart” and to achieve brotherly love (in the future), then you will receive the Torah, that is, the method of correction by the light that returns to the source, the Creator. Then this light will affect you and return you to the source, to goodness, to equivalence with the Creator.

Therefore, while reading The Book of Zohar, we must always try to meet this condition: to be ready to unite so that the light affects us, unites us, and in our unity, as in one soul, we will reveal the light, the Creator. After all, an individual soul can only feel our current reality that we perceive now.

Optical Illusion

506.2Our perception of the world and the feeling of life is contained in desire. Desire is the only thing that was created. It lives in itself and feels everything within itself.

It feels in two formats. Part of the picture is presented to it as itself and the other part is in the form of the outside world.
This is how we perceive ourselves and the environment in our split desire, internal and external, us and the surrounding.

The picture of reality is divided into circles that expand from the inside out: soul, body, immediate environment, distant environment. In fact, all this is sensation and it exists in me, inside my desire.

Conclusions:

  • If I want to change the world, then I need to change my desire. The sensation of the world depends on it, and in general the world is what is felt in it.
  • The world that seems to me external is an illusion. It’s all in my desire, only I don’t feel it right now.
  • I relate to part of myself as something alien and extraneous, to nature and humanity, and, as a result of this attitude, I suffer. I myself do not know what harm I am doing to myself by the chimera of the outside world.

This is a mistake, an optical illusion! It would seem that strangers are in front of me who can be neglected.

But in reality, I simply do not realize that I am thereby bringing troubles and problems to myself. But my whole life is filled with this. What a terrible, distorted perception of reality.

The science of Kabbalah is designed to unite my shattered parts. I am not capable of it myself, but I can ask the light to come and correct my soul. Then I will see a single reality, a single desire, and in it a single Kli and a single light.

On the way to this goal, we try to direct ourselves to unity. By reading The Book of Zohar, I simply have to constantly bring myself to the feeling of peace within myself. Whatever is said, it’s all in me, all these are my forces, desires, and qualities.

All the spiritual worlds are in a person, there is nothing outside of him. There is no need to divide the world into internal and external. All this is one Kli.

With this in mind, we cause ourselves to be exposed to light, which connects the parts of our perception with each other.

The Birth of Joseph

165The flower buds are the patriarchs, who entered in thought and entered the next world, Bina, and were hidden there.

From there, they came out in concealment and were hidden in the true prophets. Joseph was born and they hid in him.

Joseph entered the holy land and erected them there. As it is written: Joseph was born, who is Yesod de Gadlut. (Zohar for All, “The Flower Buds,” Item 5)

Our entire connection with the spiritual world passes through the Partzuf of Nukva of the world of Atzilut. It is to it that broken souls raise MAN, a request for correction.

A person with a point in his heart yearns for the spiritual world, and spirituality is bestowal and unity. Therefore, he strives to unite with others, and he is given such an opportunity in the group.

If a person fulfills the condition of the ascent and creates a Kli, he connects with Malchut de Atzilut. It raises the common request of the friends to Zeir Anpin, and Zeir Anpin gives them the reforming light. Then the souls who want to become one ascend the degrees of unity.

First, to the state of an embryo (Ibur). Here they annul themselves before each other and unite. Everyone bows his head to the environment and becomes an “embryo in the mother’s womb.”

Then they reach the stage of nursing (Yenika), where their connection grows stronger. Now they are already able to work with their will to receive, to rise above it.

Then the souls move to the state of maturity (Gadlut). The level of their connection allows them to connect with Zeir Anpin, and this stage is called Yesod de Gadlut, or Joseph.

From here we can understand the story of Joseph described in the Torah, whom his brothers sold into slavery. These events unfold around the fight for our connection so that we achieve mutual guarantee (Arvut) to the extent sufficient to reveal the Creator between us.
