Question: What are miracles and why are they performed?

Answer: There are no miracles! There are no miracles in the world.

Question: Then what is presented in the Torah as miracles from above? For example: the Creator helping the Israelites, etc.

Answer: This allegorically describes the state of people who understand the Creator and His control of the world. For a person who attains this, everything is a miracle because he relates everything to the Creator.

Question: Why does the Creator do those miracles?

Answer: It is simply that all actions the Creator performs in nature are aimed at raising a person to His level, at teaching him. We constantly live in the Creator and we are always in His actions. The whole world is the actions of the Creator. And therefore, everything is a miracle.

Or you can say the opposite, that there are no miracles. We are in a system ruled by the Creator. Absolutely, completely, in everything! It depends on how we perceive this system. It all depends on the level a person is at, on his development.

And when it writes: “The Creator performed a miracle,” it means something unusual, not something that happens every day according to the program of creation.

Question: Why is the Creator doing this? Do people need proof?

Answer: This is necessary in order to shake a person, raise him to the next level of awareness, action, etc.

Comment: Still, a person is weak, he needs miracles.

My Response: No. He perceives revelation of the Creator in this way as kind of a reward, a connection with the Creator. But, in principle since we do not foresee these actions in advance, they are for us something extraordinary—a miracle.

Question: What is MAN?

Answer: MAN is what a person turns to the Creator with, but not something, as it were, that falls from above. From the Kabbalistic point of view, MAN is considered the opportunity to turn to the Creator. But this is a more serious, sane interpretation.

And when it is said that MAN falls from above, it means that a person who appeals to the Creator receives an answer from Him. This answer manages everything in a person and corrects him to the level where he begins to receive another contact with the Creator.

Question: What does the land of Israel mean?

Answer: The land of Israel in Hebrew is “Eretz Yisrael.”  Eretz, from the word “desire” (Ratzon). That is, the concept of land has nothing to do with soil or the land on which we stand; it means “desire.”

Israel (Isra-El) is Yashar-El, aspiring toward the Creator.

Therefore, the desire of any person or group of people striving toward the Creator, toward similarity and connection with Him, is called the desire directed toward Him, or Eretz Yisrael.

Question: The Torah and other sources use the word “stone” very often: stones taken from the River Jordan, stones from which the altar is built, stones placed on graves. What is it about?

Answer: Stones are unchanging objects of nature. A stone is considered something that does not change, something that is unshakable.

From the perspective of Kabbalah, stones are parts of Malchut that a person works with; he either builds buildings with them, shoots them from a sling, and so on.

Comment: It is written in the Torah that the Creator threw stones at their enemies and thereby helped the Israelites. You explained it as a burdening of desires.

My Response: This is also true. However, a stone itself is something unshakable, a part of Malchut.

Stone (Even) comes from the word “Havana,” understanding. If we are talking about the part of Malchut ascending to Bina, then we are talking about understanding when we already realize which part it is.

But if we are talking about burdening, then by stone we mean addition of desires, addition of egoism.

Question: Who are the “spies” that Joshua sends to the /and of Israel and whom Moses also sent at his time?

Answer: Spies are not a good idea. If the Creator said that this land is yours, you should go there without asking anyone and without sending anyone ahead.

However, since it was necessary to somehow show the people where they were going, they sent scouts to bring some news from the side where the people had to move.

Question: What does “the seven nations inhabiting the land of Israel” mean?

Answer: The seven nations are those desires that have not yet found their correction, the correct intention to the Creator.

The land of Israel before the arrival of the Jews was inhabited and other people lived in it. As we see from the books of Prophets, the people of Israel who came here were supposed to drive them out. This was done in accordance with the directions and commandments.

In the internal, spiritual sense, the exit of the sons of Israel from Egypt, i.e., from their egoism, the passage of the Red Sea, then the desert, and other barriers mean certain stages of their rise above their egoism. Then, after forty years [the ascent from Malchut to Bina (mercy)], they felt that they had the opportunity to take possession of the level of Bina.

But at the same time, they discovered that when they were included in Bina, they felt the desires of supposedly foreign people, new egoistic properties, in themselves. Therefore, they had to subdue these properties, correct them, after which they became sovereignly existing at the level of the land of Israel, at the level of desires striving towards the Creator.

In other words, having reached the level of Bina, they felt that they have seven desires, seven nations, inhabiting the land of Israel that need to be expelled.

All this happens only with the desires of a person. There is nothing but desires. Now they are depicting our corporeal world for us and then they will draw the upper world.

Question: What does it mean to conquer these seven nations (seven desires)?

Answer: Change them from egoistic to altruistic.
