The Ultimate Goal Remains Unchanged

laitman_610_2Question: Can the Creator change so that the ultimate goal of our further movement and development changes?

Answer: No. The final goal will not change because it already existed at the initial point of creation. And the two points connect together to form a formula between them that develops all the levels of creation—the still, vegetative, animate and speaking levels of nature.

These evolve throughout the entire history of evolution. When all four levels of nature merge into a single collective harmony in which the Creator will be fully revealed, then the last state will have been attained.

After all, the Creator is the property of mutual bestowal and love in a properly collected form of the former fragmented egoistic mass.

What Is God? (Continued)

laitman_219_01God does not exist unless you reveal Him. Because otherwise you simply claim that He exists without any basis, and, of course, you cannot imagine what He is like. Even if you observe all His desires, which are written in the Torah as commandments, they are His commandments and orders to you, but they don’t actually describe Him.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah God is called Bore, the Creator, from the Hebrew words “Bo – Re” – “come and see,” which means something that is attained clearly, seemingly by our sight, which is the most accurate sense.

Other than this attainment, before a person attains anything, when the Creator’s image appears in one’s feelings, the root of everything that we attain in our corrected attributes and especially to the extent that we correct them according to our own style, which is not attained by us, is called Atzmuto, Himself. This name emphasizes His disconnection from us. Because of our lack of attainment and connection to us, it is as if He does not exist.

Kabbalists also emphasize that they attain the Creator anew each time according to their changing attributes, “Bo-re.

I stress this because there is a great difference between saying that there is a Creator and attaining Him according to our equivalence of form to Him, which is what the wisdom of Kabbalah calls Creator, and which is what the Creator expects of us.

What Is God?

Laitman_109Question: You say that there is no God, so what is there?

Answer: There is an upper force that manages, develops, and fills our world. We can talk about it only to the degree that we discover it. This force is called “Bore” (Creator), “Bo – Re” meaning come (discover) and you will see.

When people think that God exists, but in a corporeal form like a person, this is simply a misunderstanding of the entirety of nature. We always talk only about what exists in relation to all of us. If a person doesn’t reveal this force within him, then it doesn’t exist; if he discovers it, then it exists.

Comment: The wisdom of Kabbalah states that there is “Atzmuto – His essence,” some kind of plan or program.

Answer: Right, but we cannot talk about it. This is the initial, first force of nature that is beyond our attainment. We attain only what is included within our desire to receive and to enjoy, which was created by Him.

“There Is No God And Computers Will Overtake Humans”

laitman_622_01In the News (International Business Times): “British physicist Stephen Hawking has said that there is no God and that computers will overtake humans within the next century. The 73 year old dismissed any notion that there is a God in an interview by stating that science is able to explain the origination of everything.

“When asked by Spanish newspaper El Pais if scientists should believe in God, Hawking responded: ‘I use the word, God, in an impersonal sense, like Einstein did, for the laws of nature.’ This question was followed by: ‘Do you think humans would one day abandon religion and God?’ to which he retorted: ‘The laws of science are sufficient to explain the origin of the universe. It is not necessary to invoke God.’

“…[He] went on to say that the future of the human race could be bleak. He said that if aliens come to Earth, they could take over our planet. Hawking: ‘Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach. To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like.’

“On the subject of artificial intelligence (AI), he added: ‘Computers will overtake humans with AI at some point within the next 100 years. When that happens, we need to make sure the computers have goals aligned with ours.

“‘I think the survival of the human race will depend on its ability to find new homes elsewhere in the universe, because there’s an increasing risk that a disaster will destroy Earth. I therefore want to raise public awareness about the importance of space flight. I have learnt not to look too far ahead, but to concentrate on the present. I have so much more I want to do.’”

My Comment: The wisdom of Kabbalah could be very useful for all scientists; they wouldn’t need to suffer for generations asserting hypotheses and then refuting them. Instead they could just discover the nature of God.

Who Is The Creator?

laitman_742_03Question: Who is the Creator?

Answer: The Creator is the upper force that holds within it the entire system of creation that manages and nourishes it, just like the life force nourishes our physical body.

Our physical body is comprised of different cells and organs that are connected to each other in a completely mutual manner.  A kind of enlivening force flows through them, which is called life, and if this force disappears the body dies.

The same life force fills all of nature and is called “Boreh” (the Creator). It not only instills life in nature but also directs, creates, remodels, continuously changes creation, and perfects it; in this way it leads it to a particular target, which was predetermined by this same force.

Question: What is creation?

Answer: Creation is the desire to enjoy, which exists in each one of us in inanimate, vegetative, animate, and speaking forms. This desire is the entire material of creation, and all that animates it is called “Boreh” or the force of creation.”Thus, everything that exists is comprised of only two attributes, the desire to receive and the force that gives life to this desire and maintains a certain level.

Question: Where does this force go when it leaves a person?

Answer: It either increases or decreases. If it decreases, then it falls from the level of speaking or animate to the levels of vegetative, and then the person will die. And after that, the vegetative level dies and then only the inanimate level remains, which gradually turns to dust.

Question: So it follows that the force of the Creator enters matter, ties it together, and enlivens it. Then what determines that it suddenly disappears?

Answer: There are many reasons for this. This is a complete system, but by disappearing from one matter, it creates the other, because energy does not disappear but disintegrates into its constituent parts.

Question: Does this mean that the material cannot exist without the life force?

Answer: The life force is the primary force. It created the matter, gave it life, and transfers to it all the changes until the final state. In order to make the matter “clothe” in the attributes of the Creator, it has to acquire them and become a Kli (vessel) for their reception.

The Creator On Trial

Laitman_182_02Comment: If I could reach your Creator, I would want Him to account for all of history!

Response: Generally, I agree with you. And even the Creator Himself is not against people turning toward Him, even with their accusations. Because otherwise they do not turn!

Everyone in the world complains about his life. Understandably, everyone is right about something or even about everything. After all, it is not the person who places himself in all kinds of situations and unpleasantness; it is his nature, his lack of understanding, his lack of foresight, the unpredictability of the world. So in what way can we come to anyone with complaints?

If we look at his fate, at his behavior, we discover that each one of us is born, lives, and dies not according to his desire. Even our actions are determined according to circumstances and characteristics that are established in us from the start and not according to our desire. So a person is not free in regard to anything.  If so, there is no one to complain to!

But the originator of all that is happening, who created  everything, is ready to hold him. He is also ready for us to arraign Him. Because during the trial of the Creator, with all of our claims and accusations, we learn His attitude toward us, the reason that He made us is so small who are punished by nature. We discover the goal of our creation and our destiny. We will understand why we were born, live and die in suffering.

Ultimately we will begin to understand that all of our claims are toward our Creator, and it is specifically Him that we want to bring to court!

It is precisely the wisdom of Kabbalah that clarifies the problem of the mutual relationship between a person and the Creator. Therefore, it is the most important science in the world because a person has nothing more important than clarifying these relationships. In nature, there is nothing more than this!

The Creator Is The Force Of Love

laitman_610_2Question: Can we feel shame before the Creator? If so, what are we ashamed of if the Creator is the inanimate nature and not some figure that knows you and sees you? Or is there a live boss in addition to the still nature?

Answer: There is only an upper mind and force, which are revealed to us as the force of love. The force of love generates all of creation, manages it, and brings it to the state of wholeness. A Kabbalist is a person who actively participates in this process.

Question: What brings the Creator contentment and delights Him?

Answer: Resembling Him.

What Does The Creator Want?

laitman_276_01Question: How does the Creator want to bring us joy?

Answer: The Creator wants us to rise to the highest level of our development, so that we don’t have the same desires as a cat, but great aspirations that we will be able to fill with the pleasure of the perfect eternal existence.

We cannot perceive what an eternal pleasure is now because we don’t understand what it is. However, when a person begins to engage in the wisdom of Kabbalah and study it, he gradually discovers the infinite possibilities that he has.

Revelation Of The Creator

laitman_276_01The Torah describes spiritual properties, not physical characteristics. For example, there is the property of “Moses” in every person. Even the Creator exists in every one of us. After all, a person is a world in which there is absolutely everything!

Therefore, the Torah speaks about how one can balance his inner world and connect, correct, tune, and calibrate it correctly.

Only then can one use it to reveal the Creator through the correct interaction of all of its parts. The inner harmony that is formed within a person gives him the sensation of the upper existence. This is the force that fills, balances, and governs everything.

When all parts balance and complement one another within us and there is nothing left that would work in a corrupt way, then the common property called the Creator is formed. This is the revelation of the Creator.

New Life 526 – Changing My Life For The Better

New Life 526 – Changing My Life For The Better
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

The ego develops distance between us more and more. Everything that we develop turns against us. It is human nature to feel only oneself, to take what is good, to flee from what is bad. The ego leads us to more and more separation from everything that is not “me,” from all of the reality around me. Simultaneously, within the nature that surrounds us, everything is connected in a wonderful harmony. And only we are against nature.

It is up to us to replace the power of the ego with the power of connection, approach and giving. This can sound weird at first, but this is the development toward which nature is pushing us.

This change will be carried out in a society whose goal is to build connection, bestowal, and love, to build a true “paradise.” The Israeli society must take the lead in the process of correcting relationships between people, to provide an example. Being a “Light to the nations” means being the spiritual center of the world, the center of spirit and love.
