A Gift, Not A Punishment

Laitman_154Question: If the Creator created the ego and He is also the one who supervises and manages everything, is He responsible for it’s manifestation?

Answer: Certainly. The Creator is to blame for all of our problems. He gives us these problems so that we will clarify them, and in that way, we will gain the upper world for ourselves. Only then will we see that He is doing this to us as a gift and not as a punishment.

Question: If the Creator created evil, then must we clarify who He is? What tools do we have for understanding this? Sometimes you say that the Creator is some kind of characteristic, a force. How can a characteristic create something like this?

Answer: You can attain the Creator only to the same degree that you attain, or it is possible to say, that you create, the characteristic of bestowal and love within you. Thanks to having been made up of only bad characteristics and now a good characteristic has also appeared in you, in the gap between these two characteristics (the right and left lines), you can attain what the Creator is, which is the middle line.

Question: Does this mean that the Creator, who manages everything, is an immense power, while I only attain a small part of Him, and this is also to the degree that I resemble Him?

Answer: You attain Him partially, to the degree that you resemble Him, but it is up to you to attain it all.

Why Should We Create The Creator?

226Question: You say that the Creator does not exist and that we should create Him. What is the Creator? Why should we create Him?

Answer: The term “CreatorBoreh” stems from the Hebrew words: “Bo-reh – come and see.” As long as you do not attain Him, nothing will happen or work out since there is no Creator external to a person. He appears inside us the moment we attain Him.

It is the same with regard to our world and to everything there is in it. As long as we observe it, it is revealed in us, and the moment we cease to observe it, it disappears. Scientists are also starting to talk about this phenomenon.

The Creator Is More Jealous Than A Woman

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Creator deliberately puts various obstacles in our way so that we cannot cope with them, overcome them.

Why? So we will reach out to Him, ask Him, look toward Him, and draw near Him! He gets very jealous if we look at each other instead of looking at Him! He is more jealous than a woman! I say this in all seriousness.

It is very important! That is why the Creator constantly puts us in such situations that we are unable to overcome—so that we would yearn for Him, request that He help us. That is how parents sometimes behave toward their children: on one hand, they want the children to do something on their own, and on the other hand, that they are compelled to get the parents help.

In case of the Creator, it is quite simple. From the very beginning of our journey, if we are walking the right path, then every step that we make, we are never able to do without the Creator—never! In our lives, we learn how to walk, then walk on our own, grow up, and become adults.

In spirituality this is not so. In spirituality, our need for the Creator is constant; it only grows stronger and stronger, and then we truly come to a greater adhesion with Him. After all, the Creator opens up the system to us, but we do not know how to operate within it.

After we exert efforts in the connection between us, we increasingly open up the place where He has to explain and fulfill. And then He is revealed, always in response to a request for Him! There is none else besides Him.

Therefore, if we are unable to connect, it is natural and good. We only need to remember who puts these obstacles in our way—He does, so that we will turn to Him.

The Great Mystery Of The Creator

laitman_237Question: Where did the negative forces in nature come from in the absolute good nature, the Creator?

Answer: They come from the Creator Himself. It is written: “I created the evil inclination, I created the Torah as a spice for it” (Kiddushin 30b), which is the method for the correction of the evil inclination.

From where in the completely good Creator was evil born? This is the great mystery of the Creator. This is the work of creation.

The origin of evil from the good is called creation: “I created the evil inclination.” And then we learn that it is not evil at all, but it seems this way in relation to our closed, limited state.

Universal Computer

laitman_282_01Question: Does the Creator view each of us as one cell of billions of cells in a gigantic body? Is that how He feels everyone?

Answer: Yes, but each cell is personal and unique,; therefore, a calculation is made with each one of them.

Question: What kind of a brain must the Creator have to follow everyone?!

Answer: This is not a brain, but a very simple system. Nothing changes in it.

During his time, there was a situation that perplexed and confused Lenin. To manage the nation according to the socialist principles and simultaneously maintain a financial balance, it would have been necessary to have more accountants than the entire population of Russia. It follows that if he were to employ the entire population of the nation in this, they still would not succeed in their calculations.

While today, with the help of computers, we are approaching a situation in which we are able to take everything in the world into account without the participation of people and there would also be no problems.

For example, the next generation needs to get only what it requires for existence on the level of the beastly body and everything else will be directed only toward involvement with spiritual development. So a calculation must be made regarding all of humanity so that each one will receive what he needs for a normal material existence in life. To do this, a single computer is enough, which will be managed by a robot.

What this means is that technology will advance toward a state where this will be realized, and this was impossible a hundred years ago.

Question: Does this mean that the Creator is a kind of computer?

Answer: This is the general system of nature. Once it worked with absolute connected and mutual precision, with total harmony between all its parts. Then all of the connections were broken. Today we must bring them back to the starting position, but with one small but significant addition, the logical and intelligent participation of all its existing parts, to the degree that they are ready to enter a reciprocal connection again.

The Creator Is Not Restful

laitman_571_06Question: Why are Kabbalists impatient? After all, the Creator’s attribute is restfulness and great patience.

Answer: The Creator’s attribute is absolute impatience and restlessness. The fact is the Creator wants only one thing: to reach the goal of creation, and regarding this, it is said that He is in a state of absolute rest.

This means that it is done in an infinite linear movement at infinite speed.

The Higher Power From The Point Of View Of Kabbalah

Laitman_043Question: Most of humanity is religious. They have their own impressions about the higher power, God, the Creator. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, what is the higher power and what is the fundamental difference?

Answer: Humanity has always feared something and has been afraid until today. It always tries to find some method of protection from the unexpected and cruel forces of nature.

The same is said about Abraham who was first a priest in ancient Babylonian and later discovered the higher power,  called nature or the Creator, as a singular and good force that doesn’t demand rituals and sacrifices. Based upon this discovery, he began to conduct research and clarification and eventually taught people as well.

That is how Kabbalistic language was formed; its foundations come from the first Kabbalist, Adam, who lived 5,777 years ago.

Since the wisdom of Kabbalah developed from Adam to Abraham and from Abraham to us, it expanded its conceptual system through four languages with which Kabbalists describe the upper world. Through these languages, we gradually begin to feel what the Kabbalists felt and described.

The Creator “Sells” Himself To The Created Beings

laitman_610_2Question: Does egoism manage me and I am operated by it, or does the Creator manage me and I (my egoism) am operated by Him?

Answer: It isn’t that simple. It is easy to say that the Creator manages me and that I am operated by Him, but in fact, I have to build a kind of a connection mechanism with the friends through which we can manage the Creator.

It says that the Creator “sells” Himself to the created beings, just as parents are totally dependent on their children.

Answers To Your Questions, Part 166

Laitman_633_3Question: You have mentioned that the Creator does not exist and there is no one to bring pleasure to. I also heard from you that the Creator suffers more than we do; where does that fact come from? How does it turn out that He doesn’t suffer or that He suffers and doesn’t exist at the same time?

Personally I would like the Creator to exist in my life, because if He does not exist and is not alive, the whole wisdom of Kabbalah would seem uninteresting and practically empty just like our beastly life.

If there is no one except me, I would rather live in this illusion without reaching some upper world. Although I am only 24 and have found the wisdom of Kabbalah at the age of 18, I would like to focus myself on the Creator as on someone who exists and is alive and who feels me, because the other attainments don’t interest me.

I am actually afraid to discover that the Creator does not exist. Does that mean that the wisdom of Kabbalah is not for me? At the moment, I don’t intend to study because there is no guarantee that the Creator actually exists and is alive, but if I heard that the Creator is alive and does exist from you (which is the most important thing for me), then I would study the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Answer: Everything we say about the Creator is not His actual essence and does not say anything about Him, but only about what we can express in our sensations. Later, your feelings will change and you will be able to perceive the complexity of the world, and opposing views will not nullify each other, but will actually begin to complement each other. Then you will have no more questions.

Soul And Creator

Laitman_060_02Question: Is the concept of Creator connected to the soul? Is humanity found within the soul or the Creator?

Answer: The soul and the Creator are the same thing; only they are divided into several components.

The desire of the soul is a substance that is created by the Creator or the Light. The fulfillment of the soul is the Light or the Creator. And the connection between them depends on our work, and our efforts.

A soul is composed of two parts, substance, meaning the desire to receive with an intention to bestow to others, and ultimately in order to bestow to the Creator, and fulfillment, which is called Light. Absolute fulfillment through the Light is called the Creator.
