Fears Shape Prayer

624.01When fear comes upon a person, he should know that there is none else but Him  (Baal HaSulam, Shamati 138, “Concerning Fear that Sometimes Comes Upon a Person”).

Question: There are many kinds of fear. What are the ones mentioned in this article?

Answer: Any of them! Sometimes you are filled with some completely stupid fear, sometimes more serious fear, sometimes fears based on problems that exist between you, and so on. It does not matter. The main thing is that you are busy connecting with the Creator and want to put this connection in order.

Question: How can this fear manifest in working in the ten?

Answer: It is very simple. Your fears form a prayer with which you turn to the Creator. Nothing else is needed, just to raise a prayer.

All fears must pass through us. We must identify them and connect with the Creator through them. Fear is what correctly guides us toward the goal of creation.

The Force Leading to the Creator

934Question: As it is said: “Torah, Israel, and the Creator are one.” It is clear there are friends with whom we unite, and there is the Creator that we want to reveal together. But what is this force between us that we must attract so that it leads us to the Creator?

Answer: It is the quality of mutual bestowal of everyone to everyone. To the extent you can realize this quality among yourselves in the ten, you advance toward the Creator and become similar to Him.

Question: What does it mean to correct ourselves with the friends into the vessel (Kli) of Adam HaRishon?

Answer: It means to discover our connection in one vessel, in one ten, and from this connection, direct our desires for rising toward getting closer to the Creator. We want to rise to His level to comply with what the Creator expects.

What Is Considered Luck in Spiritual Work?

938.01Question: When the ten feels that it reached success, i.e., the state of “embrace with the Creator,” how can it return pleasure to the Creator for this luck?

Answer: To do this, one must rise above oneself and perform an act of bestowal with the friends. In this way, we create a state among ourselves where we receive the upper light for the sake of the Creator.

Question: If a person is rewarded with faith above reason, can this be considered luck?

Answer: Yes, this is also luck.

Question: Nevertheless, luck largely depends on the root of the soul, and the environment cannot influence success 100%, right?

Answer: The environment can influence a person, and a person can influence the connection of their soul with the Creator.

A Single Desire

935Question: Are our little requests that are combined into a common prayer of the ten the light we return to the Creator?

Answer: No, the light is not between you; you do not return it to the Creator. You act only to create one desire between you that is capable of receiving a little of the light the Creator wants to give you. And by this action, you delight the Creator.

Question: How do we feel the light of the Creator in the ten?

Answer: Like the desire to do everything just for the sake of friends.

Question: What action attracts more light?

Answer: Just to connect even closer with each other.

A Small but Common Achievement

524.01Question: We are egoists. How can you moderate your egoism that wants everything at once and be content with a small, but common achievement for everyone?

Answer: We perform many actions and turn to the Creator with many requests.

Each of them, as it were, returns to us. Thus, we divide what we receive from the Creator into small parts, and little by little, we receive for His sake.

That is how we gradually get closer to the Creator, in the ten, and not each individually.

We must reach the Creator in a state where we can beg Him to give us a small part of His light, which we can endure to receive for the sake of bestowal.

Open Yourself to the Creator

239Question: How can the feeling of the Creator’s joy be conveyed to the group?

Answer: Open your heart and pass it on. Try to connect with the Creator and your friends in the ten and feel how your heart opens and everything in your heart pours out to your friends and through them to the Creator.

Question: What does it mean to open yourself to the Creator? What is this action?

Answer: Ask the Creator to help you open your mind and heart and feel in them closeness to Him, i.e., to be connected to Him through feelings and thoughts.

If One Falls…

528.01Question: The ten can lead a person to fall and in the same way to rise. Can one friend lift the entire group? And how can this be done?

Answer: No, he cannot. Indeed, in this case, all the friends must completely reset themselves, i.e., cancel themselves and completely adhere to him. And he will cleave to the Creator. Of course, it is possible to do this, but we still need help.

Question: Why does it happen that one person can bring down the whole group?

Answer: It is the same. Take examples from our lives such as climbers working in one team. If one falls, they all fall.

Question: Lately, there has been a feeling of emptiness. I do everything to unite with the ten, but the emptiness only grows. With what thoughts should I feed this emptiness? Or is it better to leave it blank?

Answer: You all have to unite as one ten over this void, and then it will gradually decrease and disappear.

What Does the Science of Kabbalah Teach?

942Comment: The science of Kabbalah aims at the development of feelings. There is a strong desire to feel everyone in the ten. We are working and uniting, but there is a lack of feelings for each other.

My Response: Your egoism prevents you from being in clear connection with each other so that together, you can force the Creator to unite with all of you.

Question: So, do we need to run away from egoism?

Answer: Do not run away, but organize the correct connection between yourself and the Creator. That is what the science of Kabbalah teaches us.

Difference between States

528.02Question: How can I feel what state I am in, Katnut (small state) or Gadlut (big state)?

Answer: Check with your friends what you want when you are connected.

Comment: We want to reveal the Creator together.

Response: Then you need a big state—Gadlut.

Question: Is Katnut a constant state in the ten?

Answer: No, not Katnut, that is just a constant desire.

An Attack on the Creator

935Question: What is an attack on the Creator?

Answer: This means that with the help of the actions that the Creator performs in the world on each of you and all of you, you want to influence Him so that He changes His attitude toward you, helps, and lifts you up.

Question: Is the attack a prayer?

Answer: Prayer, action, it does not matter.

Question: How do I verify that we have made an attack? In a conventional war, this is understandable because the result is immediately visible. How do we see that we influenced Him when He starts helping us? Is this even possible?

Answer: Yes, it is possible. Moreover, you will enter into an action together with the Creator.

Question: How can we organize an attack in the ten?

Answer: Come to an agreement with each other, try it, and see where it leads you.
