How To Turn Dust Into Diamonds

laitman_290At each level, a person goes through an unpleasant state, feels as if in the dust, in darkness, spirituality loses its taste and ceases to shine. It seems to him that the Creator has moved away from him. But in fact, this is an invitation for advancement.

Precisely in such a gray, foggy, senseless state, I must develop the right attitude. Forces of nature now do not tempt me with light, but present me with a twilight state: neither darkness nor light, but some kind of grayness. But exactly in this state, I have the opportunity to attract the Creator, engage in the power of bestowal, and advance.

Most of the states a person goes through are gray: neither light nor dark. And one must be very sensitive to these states in order to awaken  the need for spiritual work in oneself, the importance of the Creator, the sensation and revelation of an upper force.

When there is no taste but only the taste of dust, this is a sign that I have the opportunity to begin to rise from this indifference and perform a lot of spiritual work.

Dust is like sand, and if we connect these grains of sand, compress them together under great pressure, we get a diamond. That is the whole difference between dust and diamonds: the cheapest thing and the most expensive one. This is the way cheap stuff turns into a jewel—only thanks to our pressure and the effort to connect.

Each step begins with the state of dust, and if I do not abandon it, but take it correctly in all seriousness, then I can rise from the dust to great heights and make a diamond out of the sand.

In the material world, that is, in our egoism, this state is felt as dust; but in spirituality, that is, in bestowal, according to the Creator, this is the most important state. In the eyes of the Creator, these are diamonds, but in my eyes, in my desire to enjoy, it is seen as simple dust.

Therefore, I must ask my friends to help me exit my egoism toward bestowal and from this state to build my spiritual state.

Try to be more within your friends than within yourself, and you will feel how you are rising from the dust. Pray, ask, cry, and just don’t expect that the state will change by itself. Sand will not turn into diamonds on its own.

The strong pressure with which I make a diamond out of sand is my unwillingness to accept my gray state as worthless. Egoism feels that there is no importance in this state, like in dust. I feel that I have fallen and lie on the ground, but I do not agree with this feeling because my desire to enjoy is depicting this reality for me.

It is good that our egoism now feels itself in the dust, but I want to raise my desire for bestowal, the point aspiring toward the Creator, upward from the dust. And this is called faith above reason.

And then I feel that it is from this dust, from the desire to get out of it, and by the applying pressure to it, I turn it into the most precious state as if I were making diamonds out of sand. The material remains the same, it is only the measure of its compression that turns it into the greatest jewel.

The feeling of spirituality in our egoistic desires is called dust, and the feeling of spirituality in the desire to bestow is called a diamond.

Coronavirus Is Cleansing Humanity

laitman_962.2Question: Is the coronavirus an individual or general governance of the Creator?

Answer: Coronavirus is the manifestation of the general governance of the Creator because we have entered a state of development called the “last generation.” I would clarify it by calling it the last egoistic generation that must rise from the egoistic level of development to the altruistic.

Question: It says that everything in the world happens for the benefit of man. Do you feel that the virus came for your benefit?

Answer: I feel that the virus is a blessing that is cleansing the whole of humanity. Our world was like hell, and now we are going through purgatory. The next step is paradise when we are fully united with each other through kind connections, which will be the final form of human existence.

Question: Which inner changes did the virus bring about into your life?

Answer: It caused the restructuring of communication with my students. I see how this is for the better. Now I am connected with them in a more equal way.

Before I had 300 to 400 physical students and the rest were virtual. The virus made all my students virtual. I am speaking to you now from my office, and I am glad to continue conducting my lessons this way for the remaining years. Let the students, of which there are millions, listen to me through the Internet systems.

I Will Be Happy To Learn

Laitman_112Question: If a person disagrees with you, can he or she be your student?

Answer: Why not? I really like people who disagree with me.

I mean ideological disagreements, not simply waving me off as a fool. Give me serious reasons why you disagree with me and I will be very happy about that.

Maybe I will find out that I do not know, do not understand, something, that I need to study more. I still need to learn a lot, this is true. Inside, I’m still a child. Do nоt look at me as a fully accomplished person. So I will be very happy to learn.

Is Love Without Hatred Possible?

laitman_528.04Question: I am sure that hundreds of thousands of your students around the world feel love for you, disassociated from hatred.

Is this an exception to the rule when students love their teacher? Such a format exists in Sufism where students love teachers without hatred.

Answer: Love without hatred is impossible. If you feel only love, it means you have not yet realized that within this love there is unrevealed hatred. Both feelings must be together.

Just as, let’s say, there is no positive particle without a negative one in nature; there is always an opposite particle to it, and they are connected accordingly. It is the same with us. Hatred must be revealed alongside love. We build love above the hatred.

Moreover, we will be unafraid of this hatred because it will become an indicator of our recurring remoteness and closeness. Thus, we will be in dynamic closeness with each other.

Comment: But it is sacrilegious to even think that there might be hatred for the teacher.

My Response: I assure you that it exists. Do you know when it will appear? As you advance, you will soon feel that you have demands from the teacher, that you disagree with him, that you are ready to literally shake him to get what you think you need and he does not give. It will come.

Sleep Or Lesson Preparation?

laitman_962.4Question: Should I deprive myself of the pleasure of having a hearty dinner if I know that I would sleep longer afterward and consequently would have less time for the study of Kabbalah, communication with the group, and so on?

Answer: I would not recommend it.

I, for example, plan in advance what I can do to wake up for the lesson without fail. Moreover, I have to prepare for the lesson for at least an hour and a half: to read, delve into the material, prepare myself for certain sensations. Otherwise, how can I be accountable before my friends?

As I go to the students, I regard them not as pupils, but as my friends through whom I want to receive certain sensations. After all, I am not in the absolute state yet.

That is why I prepare for the lesson constantly: I familiarize myself with the topic of the lesson in advance and read excerpts on that topic. I tune myself similarly to the way a musical instrument is tuned before being played.

Moreover, you not only discuss tuning, but on the contrary, that you might not come to the lesson. Such a thing is completely unacceptable.

There Is No Fatigue In Bestowal

laitman_282.02Question: Where do you get so much strength to have patience with us?

Answer: Kabbalah is the science of reception, not bestowal. Do you think I bestow to you? On the contrary, I receive from you. It is because when you give, you receive. That is why I always have strength.

Of course, purely physically, it happens sometimes that the body can no longer function the way it should. But essentially, there is no fatigue in bestowal. On the contrary, you are fulfilled all the time, you are bursting. This is pleasure! I advise you to reach that as soon as possible.

Try to teach. Teaching is very beneficial. Expand your circles. Be fruitful and multiply into more and more groups. You will see how it will advance you.

Someone who has a group, who teaches at least a few people, advances a great deal by doing so. You cannot even imagine how the Creator will take care of such a person just because a few more people come through him. It is very important that others stand behind you. Try doing this and you will see how wonderful it is.

Spiritual Holidays, Part 5

Laitman_112Holiday of Sukkot and Its Symbols

Five days after the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) comes the holiday of Sukkot, which means that a person receives five upper lights of NRNHY and comes to the state when one is under the influence of the surrounding light. In order to receive the surrounding light, a person must perform an action on oneself called building a hut, Sukkah. This is a restriction that as if blocks the upper light from a person because he or she does not want to receive it for one’s own fulfillment, but wants to receive it only for self-correction. A person continues the same line: from the New Year through Yom Kippur to Sukkot.

Thus a person builds a screen (Masach) called “Schach,” “roof,” which symbolizes that only a small light can penetrate through this roof. One sits in the shade of the hut for seven days which represents a correction of all seven egoistic parts of the shattered soul: Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut.

Only then, once one is already corrected, one leaves the Sukkah and on the eighth day, Shemini Atzeret, celebrates the Giving of the Torah, i.e., one begins to receive the upper light already in the style of bestowal.

Question: Is the roof,  Schach or screen, made from waste?

Answer: Yes, out of branches of various trees and stalks of various grains.

Question: Waste symbolizes things that are unimportant to us, and we raise them to make them important. What exactly is important to us?

Answer: Things that we previously considered not important for us, we neglected bestowal, love, coming closer to other people, “loving your neighbor as yourself”—the qualities that we need to develop—now, on the contrary, we raise above our heads. That is, we want to implement them at any cost.

Question: During the holiday of Sukkot, we use the attributes of four types of plants: willow, myrtle, palm, and citron. What do they symbolize?

Answer: They represent four phases of our egoism, which we correct, connect together, and then we can attract the upper light upon ourselves.

The Teacher Student Link

945Question: Suppose I chose a teacher and after two or three years I see that I have nothing to learn from him, and even know more than him. Such things happen in our world in music, sports, etc. Does it happen in Kabbalah?

Answer: Yes, the same can happen here. It is quite possible that it is worth changing teachers. But here you need to understand to whom you are changing. Either you change your teacher because you don’t want to apply more effort or because you have an urgent need for it because you cannot advance with the old teacher.

Question: Is there any particular connection between teacher and student?

Answer: The teacher is a conductor of the higher energy, higher light, and higher knowledge to the student. Therefore, it is important for us that the student is connected to his teacher because this connection does not vanish.

Remark: Earlier the groups were very small, and therefore a close relationship between the teacher and the student really existed. Today, you have millions of students and naturally, you know only a small amount of them.

My Comment: It does not matter who I know, it is important which of them considers oneself to be my student, one’s attitude toward me. To this extent, the student rushes with his or her inner movement toward me, and through me one receives contact with a higher power.

Personal Secret Of The Kabbalist

laitman_961.2Question: Have you personally reached the understanding of the laws of the spiritual world? Has it helped you reach a personal relationship with the Creator?

Answer: I cannot talk about this; none of the Kabbalists will answer these questions for you. This is the personal secret of the Kabbalist.

What good would it do to you if I said “yes” or “no”? It will give you nothing. So it is better to try to achieve everything yourself and see how it happens.

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 10/27/19

laitman_600.04Question: When I attain the upper root, will I still have a desire to change something in the branches?

Answer: Certainly! Because we must achieve full similarity to the upper world precisely while we are in our world in order to connect the two worlds together. That is why we exist.

Question: If a woman is loyal to her Kabbalistic teacher, can he convey his knowledge to her? Or does this affect only men?

Answer: It makes no difference if it is a woman or a man at all. Loyalty doesn’t have to be to the Kabbalistic teacher, but to the method of correction.

Question: Why does a teacher convey information specifically through allegories?

Answer: How else is it possible to talk about the spiritual world if not through some kind of example or story? You see it is necessary to make some kind of impression in our world, to present something similar, so that the student will understand that as far as it seems, the matter happens like this in the upper world. Otherwise he cannot convey this knowledge. Therefore, there is a place for allegories and all kinds of symbols in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Question: Where does a person’s desire to find a teacher or a guide come from?

Answer: This is not up to the person; that is how they attract him to a teacher and through the teacher to a higher goal, to the root of his soul.

Question: How does one work with the external sources that prove the truth of the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: I am not familiar with any other sources! The answer is final and definite. If a person is in external sources, this means that he is simply confusing himself, he has no hope of finding out anything correctly.

Question: In the future, will there be a head of the Bnei Baruch organization, a new teacher, or will there be a ten?

Answer: What do you mean by in the future? Even today we have lecturers besides myself. These are dozens of my students. Anyone who has been designated as a lecturer by our organization, is a teacher that I can recommend to you. And just as in any other science, each one teaches in his or her own style, and you will choose for yourself already.

Question: What is worthwhile to copy from a teacher?

Answer: There is no need to copy anything except for how the teacher shows a student how much he wants to attain this wisdom, to discover it. You should be envious of a teacher who has such a great desire, even though he has already been involved with the wisdom of Kabbalah for many years. For example, I have been involved with this for 40 years already, and yet my desire has not waned.

Question: Does a teacher need to divert a student intentionally from the way for his development? Or does the teacher guide him only smoothly?

Answer: The teacher does not divert the student from the way. It is the natural egoism of the student that doesn’t make it possible for him to agree with the teacher fully and diverts him from the way. But at the same time, changes like these are also helpful.
