Answers To Your Questions, Part 231

laitman_962.7Question: Is it possible to say that the Creator wants a person to study Kabbalah to make Him feel joy? In other words, will I fulfill the desires of the Creator if I engage in and study Kabbalah specifically to please Him; will He experience joy (even though I won’t know about it)?

Answer: Yes. It is specifically when there is no impurity of egoism in mutual connection with Him and on His level!

Question: Can transcendental meditation be considered bestowal to the Creator?

Answer: No.

Question: What does it mean that the Messiah sits at the gates of Rome?

Answer: At the end of the work with egoism, the Messiah, the power of complete liberation meets you. Messiah (Mashiach) comes from the word “Moshech” – pulling, pulling you from egoism.

How Does A Kabbalist Answer Questions?

laitman_231.03Question: When a Kabbalist explains something, does he relive those states? Or does it sometimes happen just theoretically?

Answer: As a rule, a Kabbalist speaks about what he has already attained. Or, from what he has already attained, he can partially answer the question that touches a higher degree than he is at, but by analogy, he can also somewhat explain it.

Question: Does he relive it all in feelings?

Answer: Of course. When he is asked a question that has to do with the spiritual work, he immediately enters that state. He is raising the MAN of another person and he must answer him.

Suppose you ask me a question, I perceive your desire, MAN, demand, and raise it to the source instead of you in order to fill it and bring it down to you.

Question: What if I ask why a person is born with one head and not three?

Answer: It is because this is the consequence of a spiritual Partzuf.

Question: But for this, it is not necessary to feel it in your senses?

Answer: No. This is a complete structure that lives in me. For this, I do not need to rise and make any inner efforts. So, I just answer.

laitman_961.2Question: Are there characteristics of the spiritual root that I can aspire to?

Answer: Certainly. The characteristics are intelligence, knowledge, a sense of eternity, perfection, that is, every detail in the characteristic of bestowal, which is a common denominator for all fulfillments. The characteristic of bestowal is absolutely opposite to us; we don’t want it at all, but we would happily receive what is revealed within it.

Question: If the higher root manages all the details in every moment, what is the role of the branch?

Answer: The role of the branch is to reach a state in which it perceives the upper root as it is, without any arguments about it; this state is called the “direct connection of the created being with the Creator.”

Question: With the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah can a person regulate the degree of pleasure or suffering of how he is governed by the upper root?

Answer: From the wisdom of Kabbalah a person receives a method for attracting the Light of correction on him. The upper Light that descends on a person transforms him from a state of being opposite to the Creator to a state in which he is similar to the Creator. The person begins to feel a positive influence from the Creator and secondly finds the Creator behind this influence.

Question: If a person finishes his life before realizing his spiritual destiny, will he be born again?

Answer: We don’t die and are not born; we only pass through our sensations from cycle to cycle. So there is no need to relate to life and death as something fatal.

Question: How should one relate correctly to a desire to watch a football match?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah is not opposed to this; a person doesn’t need to lock himself in his room; he must play a little. Nonetheless, it is up to him to understand what is most important for him in the short life that has been given to him.

Question: Could it be that I am refusing to carry out the plan of creation but am unaware of this so I will face great blows and suffering?

Answer: Someone who doesn’t carry out the plan of creation is constantly beaten. We see this in the example of the Jewish people. Regarding the plan of creation, they are more developed than the rest of the nations, and so throughout history they have been beaten. As it is said: “…he who increases knowledge, increases pain” (Ecclesiastes 1:18).

Question: As a Kabbalist, how do you relate to the life and death of relatives, students, and the teacher?

Answer: There is no life and death, there is existence in all kinds of states. We must agree with the states we are in and we must carry out everything possible in these states.

Question: It seems that there is a strange formula that arises from this: the higher the level of development, the more suffering people or a person receives?

Answer: That is actually how it is throughout the world. It is said: “…he who increases knowledge, increases pain.” By adding to and increasing his knowledge, he expands the range and begins to see greater values of plus in contrast to minus. Therefore, he feels that these things are not connected together and this causes him to suffer.

Question: How is it possible to differentiate between the “instructions of the Creator” and the personal or collective “advice of the ego”?

Answer: To do this you must direct yourself precisely toward “There is none else beside Him” (Deuteronomy 4:35), and then you will see that there is truly nothing else besides the Creator: There is no collective ego, nor is there your ego; there is only the inner voice of the Creator who is telling you something. One must adjust oneself to this.

Question: How is it possible to differentiate between actions that give pleasure to the Creator and actions that don’t give pleasure and that are generally of no value if a person doesn’t receive a reward for his actions?

Answer: Kabbalists say that the only action that gives pleasure to the Creator is an act of unification in a group, and from the group there is an appeal to the Creator with a common desire.

Question: As a result of suffering, why do some people become more stubborn in their worldview that basically caused them to suffer?

Answer: Very good! Stubbornness and persistence are very good things.

Question: If I regularly watch your broadcasts on YouTube by myself with great desire and interest, am I part of the spiritual group?

Answer: Yes. Those who are with us and study even one hour per week, are participating in the spiritual group.

Why Is Coca-Cola More Accessible Than Water?

laitman_547.05Question: Why is a can of cold Coca-Cola more accessible than a glass of fresh water?

Answer: Coca-Cola is closer, more affordable, and more available to us than a glass of good pure water because someone profits from it.

Again, the egoism of a person, of a manufacturing company, pushes it to make its product more accessible to all. It cannot earn as much from a glass of water as from a can of Coca-Cola, so Coca-Cola promotes itself to make money from us.

However, if by means of planetary awareness, we realize what is useful for us, we use only good things for us and despise the rest, if we eliminate everything we do not need and use only necessary things, then of course, during the life of one generation, we would be able to raise a generation that would be disgusted with Coca-Cola and all sorts of unhealthy foods, endless sweets, etc.

Then, we will bring up a new, healthy generation without genetic food and without such poisons as Coca-Cola and such.

After all, if egoism disappears from the world, then no one will benefit from making poisonous foods. No one would feel any benefit from it. On the contrary, society should condemn all those companies that act this way. Society must take care to protect all its members from the distribution of poisonous food.

But since we do not love each other, we do not care about each other’s health. As a result, of course, there are those who sell poisons, advertise poisons, and there are those who under the influence of this advertisement begin to buy them, use them—they take this poison.

Our egoism pushes us to all bad things. Until we restrain it, we will drink poisons and will not achieve a healthy life.

Playing With The Creator By His Rules

Laitman_183.04Question: Life is a game. Do we play with the Creator too?

Answer: The game with the Creator is in the fact that I agree to do anything He wants in order for Him to advance me in this game. That is why I want to do it His way. I do not control the Light, but I agree to play by His rules.

Question: Why is it called “a game”?

Answer: It is because I do not have the strength to realize anything, and only by expressing my desires can I cause the Creator to act. I pretend, but not really, knowing absolutely clearly that this is what will lead to His actions.

Then, what is the meaning of prayers and requests? I am in one state while I imagine another. This is already a game. I play as if I am already in the next degree, in the desirable state. I want to change into it.

Question: At the current stage of our group’s development, what should we adhere to together?

Answer: To play the right kind of group.

Me And Not Me

laitman_929Question: Is it possible to say that the Light of the Creator obscures from me the illusion of the border that separates me from the outside world? After all, if you scrutinize the gap between “me” and “not me,” there is no separation.

At what age does a person acquire the illusion of separation of me from not me? Does it happen in the process of child’s education or is it inherent in us from birth?

Answer: I would prefer not to talk about the feelings a fetus experiences in the mother’s womb. It can just confuse you and possibly give additional space for your imagination. I don’t think it is necessary.

The problem is that as long as we remain in our egoism, the smaller the egoism, the wider the space we are in. Our smallest egoism is in the mother’s womb of course. Moreover, the most universal egoism that transforms into altruism, above yourself, starts to manifest itself when we build some similarity to Mother Nature around ourselves, with which we become one.

Reality pushes us in this direction for us to start feeling all of nature as something integral and immense where we reside so we could perceive nature as one big mother’s womb and develop in such a way.

But for this, we must first achieve complete interconnection with each other because all of humanity should represent one united organism, the embryo, which exists inside Mother Nature.

If we achieve this, we will find ourselves in an absolutely comfortable state in which we will know everything. It is written that “the embryo in its mother’s womb, sees the world from one end to the other,” sees absolutely everything. The whole Light is contained in him, penetrates him, and he exists above all restrictions.

This opportunity exists only when we envision ourselves all together as one spiritual organism that resides in one spiritual nature.

laitman_962.8Question: Every moment billions of changes take place in the world. If the world is portrayed differently for me according to changes in me, does this mean that I change every moment?

Answer: Yes, specifically you are the one who is changing every moment, and the world is a projection of yourself. You see outside what you feel within you as if it is happening in the surrounding world.

Question: If the higher governance is eternal and whole, how can it disappear when the general soul is corrected?

Answer: The higher governance does not disappear. Correction means my full integration into the higher governance.

Question: How do you know that the physical world will disappear? Did you feel similar states in your spiritual path?

Answer: First, that is what is written in the Kabbalistic sources. Second, a person who studies the wisdom of Kabbalah feels this to a certain extent.

Question: What is the main criterion of agreement or disagreement with the Creator’s management?

Answer: In every state be happy, goodhearted, smiling, enjoying life, simple and easy. This is already acceptance of what the Creator does to you.

Question: You do not want to unite the egoists? I thought that the whole idea of Kabbalah was their unification.

Answer: It is impossible to unite egoists. It is necessary to elevate them above egoism and unite them at this level. Each one has different desires. We cannot unite in the desire to receive—only in the desire to bestow. We build the upper world in the juncture between the desires to bestow between us.

Question: A fisherman always sees a fisherman from afar. Is it possible to say this about Kabbalists?

Answer: Yes and no. The fact is that if a Kabbalist does not want it, you will not reveal him, you will not feel that he is a Kabbalist. On the other hand, if both of you want it, you can talk and exchange sensations of the upper world between you.

Question: How is it possible to rise above the ego while we are still in it? Is this like Baron Munchausen, who pulled himself out of the swamp?

Answer: No. For Baron Munchausen, there was no external power that could help him pull himself out of the swamp. And for us, there is such a power—the upper Light! We turn to it and it draws us out of the swamp.

Question: What is the most terrible thing for a Kabbalist: when he is not given the opportunity to talk to people about the Creator, that is, to engage in dissemination, or when his students cannot find a common language between them and they break up the group?

Answer: Breaking up the group is the most terrible thing because the inner part is the most subtle and the most vulnerable. But sometimes mistakes are needed in order to access decisions and solutions in a healthier way the next time.

Question: How can we understand correctly the response of the teacher—Kabbalist? When he says: “No” and scolds us, do we need to accept this directly?

Answer: In general, yes. You have to understand that he is acting this way for your benefit.

laitman_281.02Question: How does a Kabbalist relate to difficult events that happen in the world? Suppose they are personal like the death of relatives or some kind of disaster? How does he accept this?

Answer: A Kabbalist, like every person, experiences all kinds of feelings. However, he perceives everything, for instance the death of others and his own, the happiness of others or his own, a bit differently. There is a softening of his perception, as there is with a spiritually developed person.

Question: Is it possible to attain the level of Baal HaSulam and higher through learning the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: There are practically no limitations for anyone. Do you want to attain the level of the Creator? You are welcome.

Everything is open to everyone. Moreover, everyone must attain this level. Only then will he realize himself correctly and fully.

Question: How is it possible to use the earthly egoism for spiritual advancement?

Answer: We need corporeal egoism so that we will come to a group and act correctly within it in the fullest way. We read what Baal HaSulam and Rabash advise and we adapt everything that they recommend in their articles, and apply everything while maintaining connections in our world between our friends with clarifications about how we can unite, where egoism is found, etc. This is the realization of Kabbalah.

Question: What must we do so that we are not just sitting down and listening to you but are actively implementing advancement toward the upper world?

Answer: You need to create the conditions for maximal internal convergence, understanding, and support constantly. This is the spiritual action that we must perform, the same Kli (vessel) that we prepare for discovering the Creator.

Question: Why doesn’t the Creator perform some kind of miracle now, like in the time of Moses, to attract a greater number of people to a desire to attain it?

Answer: Because then it would then be an imposed desire, not a desire created and matured within a person.

Question: If everything around me and me, myself are the Creator, where is the evil inclination, the ego?

Answer: Don’t get confused. Everything is very simple. If we were to remove your ego and all of the disturbances and undesirable thoughts about others, then instead of all these obstacles, the Creator would be revealed. Try to perform an exercise like this among you.

Answers To Your Questions, Part 228

Laitman_049.01Question: I came across the wisdom of Kabbalah only because a magician who taught me how to enter “the astral” through meditation recommended it to me. This magician remembers his last five incarnations and has already evaluated several Kabbalistic books: Etz Chaim (The Tree of Life) and  Talmud Eser Sefirot (The Study of the Ten Sefirot) in practice.

I have two questions for you:

  1. How do you feel about entering the upper worlds through mediation?
  2. How would you explain what we do without a group of ten? Perhaps these tens are not necessary? Do you think that this way frightens people from studying Kabbalah?

In any case, thank you very much for your immense effort and may the Lord bless you!

Answer: Kabbalah teaches that egoism is the foundation of our nature, and departing from it into the higher nature means acquiring the property of bestowal over egoism until there is love. The question is: do you become a person loving everyone except for your egoism?

laitman_282.02Question: Why does the good higher force need a system of negative forces in order to govern?

Answer: It is in order to give a person the freedom of choice.

Question: Is it possible to say that every act of plunder, theft, violence, and murder have their origin in the system of negative forces?

Answer: The fact is that as long as we are in egoism, the system of positive forces will seem negative to us. Therefore, it is problematic to talk about the meaning of good and evil in our corrupt state.

Question: When I hear that someone creates my living conditions, it seems to me like there is some kind of screenwriter who has a personal relationship with me and is leading me toward him. Is this the right way to perceive the higher system?

Answer: Right. But the “screenwriter” sometimes attracts you with His left hand, sometimes with His right hand, and sometimes trips you up. He is leading you in such a way that you will understand the way and will begin to participate in it on your own.

Question: In which world does the division of the system into good and evil begin?

Answer: It begins from the world of Atzilut. The world of Atzilut is a world of goodness. The evil is found in the worlds of Beria, Yetzira and Assiya. But even in them, there is a good part and a bad part.

Question: In my mind there is no question or objection to Kabbalah. This is the absolute truth. But what astounds me is the lack of feeling. I have never been so far from feeling the Creator as I am now. What is the matter?

Answer: Very good. This is the discovery of the truth. You really are very far from the Creator. The fact that you feel this is already an approximation, some kind of truth, movement forward.

Question: Did the Creator create two forces: a desire to receive and a desire to bestow so that we will ultimately come to complete awareness that they do not exist, but that there is one truth: “There is none else besides Him” (Deuteronomy 4:35)?

Answer: To attain this higher truth, we must gather all the negative and positive sensations, thoughts, and actions, and begin to combine and match them in order to create a system that will show us the highest thought of creation. There is nothing more, just a point in Keter, the beginning of creation.

Question: Does a Kabbalist get more information because of the greater sensitivity of his soul?

Answer: A soul is the property of bestowal that a person acquires. If a person does not have the property of bestowal, then he does not have a soul. It is only through the property of bestowal that a person can understand what level he is at.

Question: Where do all the negative properties come from if they are absent in our root, since everything that exists was created by the Creator? Or are these negative properties simply the opposite side of the root, and our task is to connect everything within us?

Answer: The fact is that when there is one thing, then its opposite property must absolutely clearly manifest against it. One cannot exist without the other, only the Creator can. If a system of positive forces exists, it means that a system of negative forces also exists.

Question: Was the evil inclination that was created by the Creator immediately equal to him in magnitude, or has it evolved for thousands of years and become as it is?

Answer: Good and evil were created one against the other by a single higher power, which is, in fact, free of both good and evil.

Good and evil are always in balance, not in our world, but in the spiritual levels.
