The solution is in mutual inclusion. We connect not only among us, with those who are physically at the convention but also with all the friends around the world who are connected to us virtually. The desire of the women is incorporated in us and, in addition to that, all the Kabbalists throughout the ages who operated on our level are participating in our actions and continue to operate even now.

After all, nothing disappears in spirituality; all the forces continue to operate within the general eternal system. You will feel how they are behind us supporting us in an absolutely real way and compared to that our world is only an opportunity to get to know this reality.

So everything stems from mutual incorporation. When a person wishes to be incorporated with others and to absorb their desires, he will feel internally that there is a great network of connections. He has to feel all the levels, all the forces, all the souls that operated in this network in the past and operate in it now.

From there we draw all our powers; we are like babies who only need to let out a little cry, and from this little cry, just like for a baby, the whole network begins to operate. The “grownups” already know how to take care of us and what powers to pass on to us, how to strengthen us, and how to take care of us. There is no doubt that they will do their job.

This is called raising MAN, a prayer, which I can raise according to my level. I ask the upper one to do this work, but I have to show Him that I am loyal to Him, which means that I place myself in His hands like a baby who finds himself in his mother’s arms and doesn’t worry about anything. He knows that he is in the safest place possible. There is nothing safer than being in a mother’s arms.

In the same way, we too have to count on the power of Kabbalists that they will do the whole work. Clearly we have no power to do it. It’s only by our dedication and connection that we prove that we totally submit ourselves to the upper force so that it will take care of us.

All our work, our whole way and every part of it, every state, is divided into two parts: what a person does by himself and what is done to him according to his desire. I have to know that the goal of creation is the attainment of the attribute of bestowal, equivalence of form with the Creator, by using all my powers. I don’t know what all the desires are, all the 125 degrees, since it is all still concealed from me. But my goal is to do everything in my power, to use everything that I have, like a child with all his might trying to attain a desired goal.

This is how I have to act in every moment, aspiring to reach the force of bestowal. After having tried to do it by myself with the group, by preparing and annulling myself, by asking the friends for help, “making yourself a Rav and buying yourself a friend,” after all these actions, I am convinced that I am totally helpless. My teacher Rabash used to say: “Now you see that you are a rag just like me.”

Eventually, a person has no hope to change anything for the better and to correct himself by his own powers. He must be convinced that this is so by his experience. After all, although he has heard many times that he doesn’t correct himself and that the Light has to do that, for the time being these words are meaningless for him.

In order to demand the correction from the Light, he must first try to do it by himself, as much as he can. After all, unless you despair of your own powers, all your requests will be only a lie. You are simply lazy and don’t want to bother. If you have done everything in your power and have been convinced that the goal is unattainable, then thanks to the efforts you have made, you acquire the strong desire to truly attain the attribute of bestowal.

Because you have made all these efforts and have not attained anything, you despair of your own powers and your abilities. Therefore, there are two components now: a desire to attain the goal, a clear intention, since you have done your best and have not attained anything; and, having acquired a great desire, you are simply “exploding” with the desire to attain the goal.

These are two opposite concepts, as often happens in spirituality. If they connect into one concept, in the pure desire to attain the attribute of bestowal and nothing but that, a prayer bursts out in you.

It simply happens because that’s the way we are built. All these levels are already inside us, all the Reshimot (spiritual genes). We don’t need to draw or to build them, the moment I try to attain bestowal, the right desire is created in me, which eventually raises the prayer.

I raise MAN, consisting of the Reshimot of Hitlabshut and the Reshimot of Aviut, from the great desire to attain the goal and the despair of attaining it by my own powers. Besides I am also confident that the Creator can do that for me, that He must and will do it! After all, I see that according to the sequence of events that I go through, everything is arranged as if that’s the only thing He wants and that He is only waiting for my right request, which means for the correctly formed desire, for the true prayer, for MAN.

MAN means Mei Nukvin (female waters), which means two basic attributes that are connected correctly. Then in response to this need for bestowal, to the disappointment from my powers and the hope for correction, the upper Light comes and brings me the attribute of bestowal, and in this Reshimo the first spiritual picture is revealed to me. The power of the Light that is dressed in the Reshimo corrects, connects, and builds it, and I already find myself in the attribute of bestowal.

It is my first spiritual level in which the general network and the connection between everyone is clear. I see that the Light operates behind the scenes, the force of bestowal that must evoke the force of reception, and the states that are opposite from it, so that I will feel how much I lack it, and demand it. Then I go through the same states that I have experienced now on the first level over and over again.

Question: Most of humanity relates to Kabbalah with prejudice. How is it possible to correctly build Internet dissemination if a person who enters our site immediately realizes that he is dealing with Kabbalah? It is impossible to hide this from him.

Answer: This is a very sensitive matter. This problem exists with us in the entire world. We are notable for Kabbalah study, and nowhere in the world is that embraced. I don’t know how it’s possible to break the resistance of human thinking.

Even with us in Israel there is great rejection, no acceptance of the wisdom of Kabbalah. If we go forward with integral education, they accept us openly, but the moment that they discover that we are connected to the wisdom of Kabbalah, they immediately refuse and reject us. Serious and educated people suddenly turn completely primitive in that they are certain it is some kind of witchcraft or impure forces. And nothing really helps. They are not able to overcome their fear.

Only time, a demand to the Creator, and our constant efforts will finally give a push forward with this issue. I think that we are lacking the overall effort, continuously and mutually trying to request help to change us from Above, and then the inner force of the Light will create new conditions. When our external efforts and our inner request for help from the Light will break through the ego and will invite in it at least some sparks of targeted longing, then people will no longer have prejudices.

Question: Is an intention an independent element?

Answer: An intention is what you want of the desire to receive. Today we don’t have a real intention; today we can only judge where it is better to “steal” something, where it is possible to enjoy more: from what, from whom, by what, etc. It is imprinted in our desire to receive as a result of the shattering. But we cannot consider the two options, the two intentions: in order to receive and in order to bestow. We can only calculate the greatest personal benefit we could get from the options we have. I check my desires and choose the most promising option. As far as I am concerned the question is what I can use for my own benefit and where I make a greater profit.

An intention of in order to bestow is above that. By it, I check myself with regard to others. Then my question is different: How can I serve others in order to bestow upon them as much as I can? This is a totally different calculation. How can I do that? In order to do that I have to feel the other and not myself: What is good for him? What does he want? What does he need? I have to be mutually incorporated in him since how else would it be possible to weigh all the options?

So in order to fulfill the desire to bestow, we have to constantly advance towards incorporation with others until we reach actual love. We always face a dilemma on the spiritual levels as to the two ways of clarification—we fall into the shell and we rise again to Holiness.

Today, during the time of preparation, being below the Machsom (barrier), we have not entered this level yet. We study and we play in a group, but later it will actually become a holy society for us. This is where we advance to, by advancing towards the “Exodus from Egypt“,in order to rise from an egoistic clarification to an altruistic one.

This will be our spiritual birth. It is the same with a baby who is born and begins to breathe, to eat, and to feel his body. After the birth, the body begins to operate according to a new clarification that did not exist before—a more conscious one. We too want to move into a new clarification in our body, in our desire.

What is the prayer of many? First of all, we understand that the movement forward is a movement towards each other, to feeling others like oneself. This is achieved by connecting common yearning. We need to unite our points in the hearts in a single aspiration, relate them to the Creator, desire Him to correct them to raise above our egoism in order that it remains below, and the points in the hearts exit it, rise and form the property of bestowal.

The property of bestowal can only be common, not individual. It’s manifested only in the connection with others, through the so-called “crimson ball,” a feeling of warmth between us. And all this is recorded according to the statement “the book is open and the hand writes” because in addition to our personal debt, a general account is also written. One can pay for the other and even more than that.

This means that the group can take responsibility for the weak, pull him towards itself, heal, soothe, and approve. Just as in our world, in the spiritual world there are different gradations of human, and the group can pay for him. But later, he has to pay back. This is the system of complete interdependence like in the family: small children grow up and begin to help the elderly; everyone does his part, and everything is divided equally.

So, the calculation is carried out only through the common treasury, and nothing is accepted from an individual, the Creator does not make any transactions with you. Even with the world, He makes calculations only through humanity, through the entire mass of people, through one collective desire. He influences this desire. He is in it.

The common desire is divided among all of humanity and the people aspiring for the Creator with whom He makes His own calculations. He does special actions with them in order to pull them towards Himself, to guide and drive them towards the goal. As for humanity, the Creator is pushing it forward for the time being, causing an awareness of confusion in it and gradually pulling it towards us. Part of humanity diffuses and enters our area, joins us, and the 90% remains. This is a huge amount, and it stays unchanged because the part that leads everyone forward must be strong in quality, and the rest in quantity.

Thus, we need to pray, ask for the strength to lead, to help, to shape that huge mass. The responsibility for this lies with us; we have to ask for everyone. This is the basis for a prayer.

The Creator created the desire to enjoy. This is the desire of 90% of humanity. And our desire in this mass, meaning of those who yearn for the Creator, is artificial, not belonging to this world. Now it appears in us, and we want to get somewhere. The property of the Creator is manifested in us and that’s why we are drawn back to Him, to our source. Others also have the points in the hearts due to the mixing, the breaking of the vessels, but they are hidden deeply. We were awakened just in order to pull them to us and correct them; otherwise, we would have never felt the movement towards the next state.

That is why our prayer should be for all of humanity, for having the force, skill, and knowledge of connection with the Creator in order to draw all of humanity towards us and correct it, thereby bringing Him pleasure. The task of the Creator is to be revealed in the desires of humanity, to fulfill their desire. This is on one hand.

On the other hand, we are called the head, meaning that we are aware and understand; we are associates, assistants, of the Creator. We realize His goal. He wants to be revealed in humanity because it has real huge desires, not like ours because we’re not the greatest egoists. Of course, egoism is growing in us as well as all kinds of understandings of its estimations since we have duality, and we move forward, but the biggest egoism will be revealed in all mankind.

This is immense universal egoism! The whole universe is a huge mass of inanimate matter, which we don’t feel or know, including dark matter, all that we do not see, and it is an analog of the egoism that exists in humanity. They are both inanimate matter.

That’s why the correct prayer rises only through the group and only for humanity! I ask the Creator to help me as part of the group to correct all of humanity so that He can be revealed in it. Thus, by my participation in this, together with the group, I bring Him pleasure, the realization of His plan.

Why is this so difficult to express? It’s because it refers to the property of bestowal that we can’t yet describe properly. We depict everything by means of our egoistic language: I ask the Creator to give me the strength to correct others so that He is revealed in them seemingly to receive pleasure. We have no other possibility to express all this, so the prayer should be like that.

In the meantime, we take a loan, and gradually, especially in the group, make a clear calculation how much we can begin to return what we have taken from the store: for each given day, for the lesson, for the gathering of friends, for the convention, for everything! What do we give? What do we return? Do we correctly realize that excitement, that possibility that we get every time?

In childhood, parents give a child everything possible, but to the extent of his growing up they begin to demand more and more from him until he becomes an adult and he himself has to give.

We are now entering the next stage of growing up; therefore, we must be in constant prayer. We will never be able to unite if we do not try to connect with the Creator because direct efforts, not through the Creator, lead to nothing.

Any connection with anybody, with studies, with the work within the group, with the organization of events, even just washing the dishes or cleaning in the group is an empty activity if it does not pass through the Creator. Everything that relates to our common life should pass only through the Creator, only attracting Him, meaning, the property of bestowal. It is necessary to try to rise above oneself and operate only in this way. This is called a prayer.

It is said, if a person behaves in this way, it means that he prays all day long. This is good! Whatever I do, everything passes only through the upper. If I stick to this, my actions are performed only as calculations: I pay for what I do, for the opportunity that was given to me. Then “the book is open and the hand writes” but in the opposite direction: I pay next to what was given to me, and I make a payment. A person must feel in this way.

Baal HaSulam, “The Peace”: Rabbi Akiva depicts two kinds of people: the first are the “open store” type, which regard this world as an open store without a shopkeeper. But the law of development acts in every creature, and according to this, it takes from a person, so in the end, he will have to pay for everything.

In what form? In the form of suffering if you do not want to move forward consciously. Suppose, you have to perform an action, but you have not done it in the way you should have done, through the group, because you cannot be aimed at the Creator if not from the group, if not from the general Kli, vessel.

A personal address to the Creator is considered egoistic; it gives nothing. This is religion, not Kabbalah.

As soon as you can aim at the Creator through the group, at the general force of bestowal in order to attract it, and the one thing that you ask is to get closer to Him or to bring Him closer to you so that this force is in your actions relative to the same group, and through it, relative to humanity‑if a person focuses on this, he works fully on himself in the general Kli, vessel, and begins to feel the new world concretely. It approaches him; its network begins to open before him, and a person sees how it works.

The second type of people are called “those who want to borrow.” They take the shopkeeper into consideration, and when they take something from the store, they only take it as a loan. They promise to pay the shopkeeper the desired price, meaning to attain the goal by it. And he says about them, “All who wish to borrow may come and borrow.”

The difference between the people of the first and the second type is that they are moving forward differently: consciously or unconsciously. The first ones advance through punishment, and the second ones with understanding and revelation.

Those who move consciously reveal the entire system, which raises them to the level of the Creator, to the level of that single force. They begin to feel how they exit the body, that is, a gradual separation from their egoism because all that we feel, including our body, is the feeling in the ego.

This gradually dissolves, dissipates. We enter such a subatomic level of sensing matter when it practically does not exist. Instead of it, we see and feel forces, that is, not the image, but its essence, the sum of forces that control this image. We already deal with a more inner essence of man and with the whole spiritual system.

When this system becomes clearer, we begin to work with it, not with faces, not with bodies, not with the still, vegetative, and animate matter. Working with a spiritual system, we start seeing in Kabbalistic books the structure of connection between us, between all the elements and forces because the primary sources describe only this.

Any force is broken down into five parts: Keter, Hochma, Bina, Zeir Anpin, and Malchut. It consists of five parts because all these forces are manifested in our egoism.

The system of the upper world is revealed between us up to its complete realization. We ascend through it, master it, and begin to manage it. It gives us a sense of the upper, external world. At the same time, the feeling of the body and connection with it is lost.

The fact that the body lives, gets sick, or dies is necessary because through it we must sense and feel ourselves in this world. When we finish our part in the general correction, we do not need to be connected to this world through the body because we complete our part of correction. The body is our representative relative to those who still sense the upper world in the form of this world.

We have to reach this state to fully reveal that judgment is the judgment of truth; everything is corrected and ready for a meal, and then the whole world enters the corrected Kli, vessel, and complete attainment of the Creator fills all our common desire‑one general soul.

A prayer is based on this idea. It is a person’s constant aspiration to work on the moment in which he currently is.

Rabash. “Shlavei HaSulam,” Article 13, “Maoz Tzur Yeshuati” (The Stronghold of My Redemption): But the main thing is that a person should first have the desire to sacrifice his desire to receive. And since the desire to receive is the essence of the created being, the created being loves it and it is very difficult for him to understand that it must be annulled, since otherwise it is impossible to attain anything spiritual. And in corporeality we see that a person has a desire and a deficiency as to what concerns him that comes from the internality of his body. There is a desire that a person acquires from his externality, which means on his part. This means, that if there weren’t people on the outside who generate this desire in him, then a person would never feel that he lacks anything. Only people on the outside generate this deficiency in him.

Question: In fact, in order to feel the friends’ desire I have to ask the Creator for help. Why can’t I adopt their desire by myself?

Answer: Every action is done by the Light. We live in a world with precise laws and the energy in them evokes different phenomena. This energy is in matter. Why do electrons, protons, neutrons, and other particles move? Where do they get the power to do so? After all, everything in nature aspires to be in a state of absolute rest, balance, equality, harmony, and mutuality. So why is the structure of matter in perpetual movement?

It is because there is energy that pushes matter towards the goal from the smallest detail about which we know nothing up to whole worlds. At the same time, some of the actions are absolute and are perpetually applied, like the movement of a train on the track, like physiological or astronomical processes that don’t need our approval.

But there is also a different level in which the actions must be conscious. Here the created being must understand, recognize, and know the Creator who sustains the force, the energy that moves the whole world. Above still, vegetative, and animate nature on the human level, there is a particle of desire, a point in the heart, in which the created being must ask to use the energy of the Light. Without this request the Light will not appear and will not operate.

There are times in which the energy of the Light operates without our recognition when no one is aware of the existence of the Creator. Billions of years of history passed in these “inexplicable” phases. But afterward there comes a moment in which the created being has to develop until it reaches the state in which it can get to know the Creator.

Here there is a problem as the created being feels that he is stuck on something on the way and life doesn’t flow onward. Now he has to activate the force of the Light by himself, to understand each time, to know it, and to get close to it. From now on the work is done together as “partners.” The Creator is ready to do everything‑like parents caring for a baby‑if He is asked correctly and it is to their advantage. They have everything you need; you need only to make the correct request, and mom and dad respond immediately to whatever it was.

We know in advance what the Creator has to do, we want it; we accept it, and ask Him to perform this action. Then He responds without any delay, since He is ready to help us in advance, like a father ready to help his beloved son. This means that our work is to reach a prayer: “Do such and such.”

So what is the right request? What is the request that we expect from a child? We want him to ask to grow a little, to get a bit wiser, to grow stronger, to succeed a bit more, to get closer to the state of a “whole person.” This is also what the Creator expects from us—only this request. We have to understand what it means to grow, to be kind, to be smart and healthy and to ask for that. This request is much more egoistic than our ego in this world, but because we work despite our animal ego, it is called bestowal.

What bestowal? To whom and what do you bestow? You simply ask to be like Him…

So why do we have to do this against our ego that constantly “holds us back?” It is because otherwise we wouldn’t arrive at the clarifications: “What does it mean to be like Him; to be great in bestowal?” If everything went smoothly, we would stay on the level of the still nature, we are constantly “stopped” and we have to resist that, to look for solutions, to discover, and then compare different attributes; this makes us wiser and helps us develop.

This means that the evil inclination was especially created to develop us. After all, I can be a small beetle, a mouse, a cat, a dog, a slave, a servant, a nobleman, a minister, and even the king in the King’s palace. Now, too, I am in the King’s palace, but how do I see it? How do I see myself? A small beetle that lives under the stairs.

So only thanks to the resistance of the desire to receive can we acquire more levels of understanding. Therefore, the ego is called “help against.” Without its resistance we wouldn’t be able to acquire anything. This means that we need to recognize the help and what is on the other side, and then we will reach what we desire.

Question: It says: “I awaken the dawn and it isn’t the dawn that awakens me.” Is there a certain sequence of internal events that allow me to awaken the dawn as quickly as possible without any delays and to establish the connection with the group and with the Creator?

Answer: We can only hasten time and the desire to become Adam (human).

According to scientific data, the universe is 15 billion years old. Humankind has developed for hundreds of thousands of years, and it is only in the last 30,000 years that we have begun to approach the true level of Adam. This evolutionary process takes time.

As people grow older they suddenly feel that everything is so temporary, “Life has gone by and I haven’t even noticed…” This is our corporeal existence: it goes on and suddenly you feel that you are old and that you are about to “leave the scene.”

In spirituality it is different. In spirituality you know and feel how many discernments you have been through, how the world has advanced and what people have learned by approaching spirituality.

There were long periods of “delays” in history. The last exile lasted for 2000 years, and the great sorrow is that the process seemed to be halted from Above. People suffered simply because there were not allowed to advance towards the goal, they burned and yearned for it, but there was only darkness in response.

Now, however, the opposite is true: I am given everything from Above, even more than I can absorb, but the trouble is that I don’t need it; I actually want other things and suffer because I don’t have them.

We find ourselves in the middle, in the “section” between exile and redemption, as the attitude from Above has changed. Today things have been “opened” for us from Above, all the doors are open and the food is actually brought to our mouth, and all we have to do is to open our mouth like nestlings, but we don’t want to…

In order to awaken the dawn, we have to start by “mechanical” actions. It is because during the spiritual descent a person is “dead,” still. So start moving, organize a clear and accurate daily schedule and make sure that you follow it carefully. Look for different things to hold onto, take upon yourself different tasks that cannot be avoided…

There are many hours of powerlessness ahead. In such case, I for example, begin to work on articles by Baal HaSulam and Rabash. It is a kind of “hobby.” I correct them, delete commas, change words and phrases, and put them in a simpler language, etc. By this mechanical work we try to get back on track. It is because in the current descent we have nothing internal left, and we can only make external efforts. We need mutual guarantee, support from the friends, and a rigid schedule is necessary.

In any case, the exit from the descent depends on our efforts. Therefore it says that Israel hasten time. The Light comes from Above, of course, but we awaken it.

On the whole, we are advancing at an extraordinary speed these days, and I really have great hopes regarding the Arava convention that will be held this weekend. You will see. It will be much more qualitative than the previous conventions and we will feel discernments that we can organize and compare with each other.

An inclination, tension, readiness and the ability to stay “fit” and navigate ourselves internally is building up in each of us, as if we are holding a steering wheel in our hands. A person actually has to feel, to discover this “steering wheel” inside him: The road is opening before us and internally a person constantly stabilizes himself on the road and stays off the shoulders of the road.

We are so close to that, so close to this mutual control when I know how to behave with the Creator, and then I can actually “drive” by myself…

In the process of the spiritual work we begin criticizing our friends. We should stop doing it immediately and acknowledge that the Creator does it to us on purpose. He hardens our hearts and sets up bad situations so that we get desperate and appeal to Him for assistance and request our friends’ help, thus enhancing our liaisons and the intention to unite with each other.

Therefore, we must be prepared for the permanent shutdown of connection with others and constantly remember this because we will come across thousands of distractions on our way. We should keep in mind that it is the Creator who disrupts us acting via other people.

We should always stay tuned to “There Is None Else Besides Him.” At the same time, we should continue working according to our own system. We must realize that we work against the Creator and that it is He who permanently leads us. Likewise, we put a little child on the floor in order to teach him to walk. He cries because he is afraid to make the first step, but we continue pushing him ahead. Thus, he eventually learns to walk.

In order to reveal the Creator’s property of bestowal, we need to have a natural intention to connect with others. If we rebel against it, we should acknowledge that this sensation comes exclusively from Him and that He wants us to apply more effort. The more exertions to advance that we make, the more obstacles on our way He creates. He hardens our hearts and sets up hindrances.

So, when we look at our friends and see lots of negativity, we must understand that it is He who draws this picture for us. He does it on purpose so that we rise above our sensations and begin to justify, love, and appreciate our friends, irrespective of our negative thoughts and ideas. We always should keep it in mind!

The same applies to the group. When we think of the group in a scornful manner, “Why do I need them,” it means that it is time to remind ourselves that it is the Creator who commands us.

Question: What do we correct: actions or intentions?

Answer: By correcting the intention, we alter the action. It is similar to a situation when it is enough to apply a good intention to a car that is broken and all of a sudden it starts to work fine.

In this world, we are “given the freedom” to do whatever we want until we completely destroy it. In spirituality, one’s actions are allowed solely to the extent of the correctness of one’s intention.

All depends on the screen: If you happen to correct it, you can use it.

In this world, we are given a chance to play as children and do whatever we want in order to educate ourselves. We won’t be allowed to enter spirituality until we learn how to use this world correctly. That’s why it is said, “This world is similar to an entrance-hall to spirituality.”

There is no action without intention. Only in this realm can one act without a good intention. By acting so, we lower ourselves more and more until we finally realize that we really need to bring up correct intentions. In spirituality, no actions are possible without good intentions. Besides intentions, there is nothing there at all.

For example, before I go to see a doctor, I need a correct intention. Only in this case will I cure myself completely: I will correct my soul and body. However, if I don’t have a good intention, I only treat my corporeal body.

So, it means that we haven’t taken advantage of the possibility that was granted to us. The reason we fell sick was to rise due to the illness we got, rather than just cure our physical bodies. If we continue acting this way, we won’t achieve correction, and the Creator will have to “shoot” us in some other places and cause new disturbances for us.

If our actions are accompanied by incorrect intentions, we harm everybody around us. It is all about the mutual guarantee. If we fail to have a correct point of view and develop a positive attitude, we will continue making mistakes.

Anything that happens to us has to be regarded through the prism of the group, through the unity. I see the world as either corrected or corrupt to the extent of my connectedness with others. Any deficiency that I come across depends solely on the level of my detachment or my unity with friends. It is the only thing that I observe and that is revealed to me in this world.
