The Nets Are Set

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from BBC News): “More than 500 years ago, tens of thousands of Jews fled Spain because of persecution. Now their descendants are being invited to return.

“Before the infamous Spanish Inquisition of the 15th Century, some 300,000 Jews lived in Spain. It was one of the largest communities of Jews in the world.

“Today, there are about 40,000 or 50,000 – but that number could be about to swell dramatically.

“In November, Spain’s justice minister Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon announced a plan to give descendants of Spain’s original Jewish community – known as Sephardic Jews – a fast-track to a Spanish passport and Spanish citizenship. …

“Anyone who could prove their Spanish Jewish origins, he said, would be given Spanish nationality.”

My Comment: We will hear many similar “invitations” from different states and communities, resulting from the US plan to eliminate the state of Israel. If the people of Israel carry out the plan of its correction and build a society of mutual guarantee as an example for others, in this case it has a reason for existence. There is still a hope that we will be able to do that.

The Global Financial Market Is Dead And Is Not Going To Rise

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Wall Street Journal): “It has been nearly five years since the collapse of investment firm Bear Stearns, the first of the dominoes to fall in the 2008 financial crisis. It is now abundantly clear there was too much risk-taking and too much borrowing, particularly by big financial companies. The global economy is still suffering the hangover.

“Too much finance can be dangerous to economic health. But too little finance hurts, too. Promising investments are starved. Consumers can’t borrow for homes or education. Growth is slower. …

“As a share of the world economy, the global stock of debt, both private and public, and equity peaked in 2007, plunged and has now recovered to 2000 levels, according to a McKinsey Global Institute database of 183 countries. …

“The social value of finance isn’t to fuel Wall Street’s casinos or make traders and hedge fund partners rich. It is, rather, to deploy the world’s savings in investments that pay off in the future. …

“Rich-country banks have pulled back. European banks increasingly are reluctant to lend across borders. Jitters about the durability of the euro and the stability of national governments have reversed a decade of financial integration. In emerging markets, the growth in stock and bond markets—which had been a welcome sign of economic maturity—has largely stalled.”

My Comment: Everything goes according to the plan of nature to force us to adopt a new attitude towards ourselves, society, and the world as to a single global dependent system.

Who Lives Longer – A Pessimist Or An Optimist?

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Telegraph): “A study, into 40,000 adults across ten years, has found those with low expectations for a “satisfying future” actually led healthier lives.

“In contrast, people who were “overly optimistic” about the days ahead had a greater risk of disability or death within ten years.

“The extraordinary research, published by the American Psychological Association, will not doubt prove comfort to anyone with a tendency to grumpiness.

“Frieder R. Lang, lead author of the study from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, said: ‘Our findings revealed that being overly optimistic in predicting a better future was associated with a greater risk of disability and death within the following decade.
“Pessimism about the future may encourage people to live more carefully, taking health and safety precautions. …

“Older people, who tended to have a ‘darker outlook’ on the future, were shown to be the most accurate in their predictions, with optimistic youngsters overestimating their success. …

“Previous studies have suggested that ‘unrealistic optimism’ about the future can help people feel better while facing inevitable negative outcomes, such as terminal disease.”

My Comment: Pessimism about one’s forces but optimism about the forces of society with which one is connected is the optimal approach to reality.

Genes And Stress

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Dr. Svetlana Borinskaya, N.I. Vavilov Institute of General Genetics, Russian Academy of Science): “Today, we can say that genes influence everything. Although genes cannot determine exactly what man will be, it is recorded in them how the body will react to changing environmental conditions. …

“The way a person responds to stressful conditions, how well and how quickly he recovers from stress depend on the genes. But people are different: some are more successful in certain conditions, the other – in others. This genetic diversity is a very valuable asset of humanity, which allows it to survive in various conditions.”

My Comment: That is why, particularly in unity, we can always safely overcome any difficulties and take advantage of the circumstances which no one could deal with alone; in this way nature providently created us different, for success in unity.

Shocking Statistics Of The Eurozone Stuck In Crisis

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Euronews): “Only a few weeks ago, EU officials were patting each other on the back and declaring that the euro crisis is over.

“Now the European Commission’s own forecasts published on Friday say the continent’s economic woes will continue. …

“Their latest study predicts the eurozone economy will shrink by 0.3 percent this year.

“That’s revised down from November’s outlook, which saw growth of 0.1 percent.

“If politicians and bankers think the single currency crisis has been consigned to the history books, try telling that to unemployed people in heavily-indebted EU countries.

“Greece has an employment rate of 27 percent, whilst Spain is closed behind with 26.9 percent.

“One economist says the EU needs to rethink its economic policies.

“Hans Martens, chief executive of the European Policy Centre, stresses that Europe has taken the wrong way to recover.

“’This is a disaster not only for let’s say the European institutions but also for member states because this is a reminder that they have not done enough they have simply not done enough to stimulate growth and jobs,’ he told euronews.”

My Comment: It is necessary to agree psychologically to the new state of the world (integral, united), the new economy (only reasonable consumption and equal distribution), and new social relations (equal rational consumption). This is what awaits us, regardless of our desires. In this case, ladies and gentlemen, the statistics will not shock you every time.

The Reason For The Difference Between Male And Female Behavior

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Indian Express): “Women behave differently to men because their brains are wired completely uniquely, according to a new book.

“Neuroscientist Daniel G. Amen explained in his new book, Unleash The Power Of The Female Brain, that men and women are equally smart, but each sex uses different parts of the brain to solve problems or achieve goals.

“Women are better at packing carefully for a family holiday because they have more brain cells in the pre-frontal cortex, the area which controls judgment, planning, and conscientiousness, he said.

“Men can be more volatile and swift to anger in a crisis. It may be because the part of their brain, the amygdala, which processes fear and anger, is much larger than a woman’s, according to the book.

“The human brain is made up of grey matter (brain cells) that does the thinking, and white matter (the communication cables between brain cells), which connects different bits of the brain.

“Studies have now shown that grey and white matter are differently distributed in men and women, which has massive implications for the way they behave, G. Amen noted.

“Because men have more grey matter in the bit of the brain that governs intelligence, they are inclined to tackle a task with single-minded focus, not taking into account the peripheral issues that a woman might consider to be important.

“On the other hand women have more white matter in the part of the brain that governs intelligence, this is the reason why when women tackle a problem, they draw on many areas at the same time, he said.

“Science has also proved that women have far more cells in the part of the brain that controls empathy, which explains why they cry more often in sad movies.

“There is something unique about the structure and functioning of the female brain which gives women a distinct advantage when it comes to intuition.

“Scans show that when women are thinking, they dip into the right side of the brain, which specialises in emotional issues. This makes women much better at picking up on cues, such as body language or tone of voice that men may miss.

“Scans confirm that women have larger areas in the brain dedicated to tracking gut feelings, which is why they’re quicker at working out what others are thinking and reach conclusions based on hunches.

“Women find it easier to keep strong negative emotions in check because the area of the brain, which deals with anger and aggression, tends to be larger in women than men, the author said.

“Brain scans also showed that when a woman is feeling aggressive, she’s much more likely to launch a verbal attack – using the highly active language part of her brain – than a physical one.

“Moreover, women generally have lower levels of the brain chemical serotonin than men, and low levels are normally associated with over-activity in the brain’s worry centres, the book stated.”

My Comment: Kabbalah, explaining that men originate from ZA and women from Malchut, puts things in order and explains the perfection of the world can be achieved through fully mutual complementarity of male and female and it explains how to achieve this.

Similar People Rarely Get Along

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Columbia University): “When it comes to having a lasting and fulfilling relationship, common wisdom says that feeling close to your romantic partner is paramount. But a new study finds that it’s not how close you feel that matters most, it’s whether you are as close as you want to be, even if that’s really not close at all.

“’Our study found that people who yearn for a more intimate partnership and people who crave more distance are equally at risk for having a problematic relationship,’ says the study’s lead author, David M. Frost, PhD, of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. ‘If you want to experience your relationship as healthy and rewarding, it’s important that you find a way to attain your idealized level of closeness with your partner.’

“’It’s best not to make too many assumptions about what constitutes a healthy relationship,’ he says. ‘Rather, we need to hear from people about how close they are in their relationships and how that compares to how close they’d ideally like to be.’ …

“The concept could also be extended to non-romantic relationships such as co-workers, parent-child, and patient-provider interactions.”

My Comment: Everything in the world exists resting on the two opposite properties: giving and receiving. That is why the middle line (middle ground) is the main condition to stability in any system.

Unemployment In The World Of Unfinished Business!

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Gavriil Popov, President of the International University in Moscow):
“As it is known, the model of the Soviet and Nazi state socialism ruled out unemployment. There is nothing more difficult for a person than the impossibility of finding a job, that is why unemployment during crises is the main factor of people turning to socialism, national socialism, fascism.

“The experience of Soviet socialism has shown that providing all the members of society with work creates social stability, but reduces the average wage because the output should be divided among everyone; the desire to work effectively is diminished, and society heads towards a dead end.

“Unemployment is inherent in the modern postindustrial formation. But it is intolerable in comparison to the benefits that post-industrialism gives the employed. The solution must combine rewards to those who work efficiently and provide employment to everyone who wants to work with reasonable salaries.

“Therefore, it makes economic sense to have two systems of work:

“The sphere of competitive employment, based on competition, where high earnings stimulate efficiency;

“The sphere of social employment, providing jobs and wages sufficient for life to those who cannot work in a competitive environment (the elderly, the disabled, women with children, the unemployed in the sphere of efficient economy). Social employment must be self-supporting. And there is plenty of work in the social sphere: the collection and recycling of waste, remediation of forests, road repair, remediation of wasteland.”

My Comment: There will be a need for work in the social sphere for many years ahead. In any case, it is necessary to combine work in both spheres with integral education.

German President Asks Britain To Stay In The EU

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Financial Times): “Germany’s president appealed on Friday to the people of the United Kingdom to remain members of the EU, in a speech intended to counter euroscepticism across the continent.

“’Dear people of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, dear new British citizens!’ declared Joachim Gauck. ‘We would like you to stay with us!’

“His appeal to British pride and patriotism – ‘During the second world war, your efforts helped to save our Europe, and it is also your Europe,’ he said – underlined a deep concern in Berlin that a referendum in the UK, promised by David Cameron, the prime minister, could see a British vote to leave the EU.

“We will only be able to master future challenges if we work together. More Europe cannot mean a Europe without you!” …

“He dismissed accusations that Germany was seeking to intimidate its EU partners, or force its ideas on them, in laying down the rules to recover from the eurozone crisis. …

“’This is not just a struggle for our currency,’ he said. Europe was facing more than an economic crisis. ‘It is also a crisis of confidence in Europe as a political project.’…

“’We stand together . . . for peace and freedom, for democracy and the rule of law, for equality, human rights and solidarity.’”

My Comment: Isn’t it too late to appeal for solidarity, and not even complete solidarity at that, just financial? The root of the problem is a gradual shift in the program controlling humanity. The program is gradually changing from egoistic to altruistic and requires humanity to become similar to it and to participate in it actively. Inconsistency with the program is manifested as a multi-faceted crisis.

Humanity has a method of retraining itself to become similar to a new program. The method is called integral education. As long as humanity is stubborn, the program is being introduced more and more in our world, in all its forms, and that is why the crisis is felt stronger from day to day. Let’s wait when the words about equality, rights, and so on will become significant and desirable, instead of empty.

Where Are You, Men?

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Mikhail Reshetnikov, Professor, Rector of the East European Institute of Psychoanalysis, St.-Petersburg): “Scientists talk about social issues – the emergence of a new type of men: a hybrid of the spoiled son and a cowboy, fighting for space under the sun. Concern is caused not by their infantilism, but a tendency to be aggressive in the desire to succeed.

“In the former USSR, the state made decisions and did everything instead of people. Since the time when the state has ceased to be the most powerful ‘parent,’ men themselves have to carry the entire burden of establishing their own life. In Western society before the crisis, everything was clear and divided as well.

“But today, upbringing by the family is lost; 50% of households are single parents; parents and educators are replaced by the TV and Internet, which promote aggressive behavior, the desire to win by force and at any cost. Young people do not have a positive image of the future. In the crisis of modern society we have lost a vision of the social ladder – a degree and knowledge do not help break through. And even a greater crisis is ahead!”

My Comment: Only education will help us support young people, to fill them with a good attitude to life and the world, to show values other than material ones, to instill a desire to receive fulfillment from communication, from the revelation of higher existence, with an equal and fair distribution in which there is no room for struggle and competition. Nature has left us opportunities only for this scenario of life. Our success depends on how much we can fit into this model.
