From the Center of the Convention to the Center of all Reality

938.03After each ten reaches its center and desires to act from this center toward the Creator, it obtains the same aspiration to connect as a single ten with other tens. Then the collective force present in the entire ten unites with the collective forces of other tens, and their common force begins to act. It is as if two drops of water merge into one, and the law that acted on each drop separately now acts on both of them together.

At the convention, we need to quickly go through all the steps leading us to general unity.

First, we unite within our own ten to become as one person, and then from our common center, we seek the central points of all other tens.

The center of the group is the state we want to achieve. When we already feel our ten united as one person with one heart, we want to connect with other tens.

Every gathering has a purpose, a collective force that comes from the center of our unity, from the center of the convention. At the convention, we must try to feel how we direct this force from the center of the convention to the center of all reality where our meeting with the Creator takes place. According to how we strive toward this common center for all of us, we will be able to feel Him.

The group feels that it is increasingly uniting and merging into a single whole, and then from this unity, we want to extract a force directed straight to the Creator.

Readiness to Open the Heart

243.07Opening one’s heart is not easy at all. Even if it seems to me that I have managed to open my heart, it does not necessarily mean that it has truly opened. It is possible for the heart to remain closed, perhaps even more than before.

That is why we should listen to what Baal HaSulam says, strive to understand him, and put it into practice: One cannot correct one’s thought, but should only aim the heart – make one’s heart straight to the Creator. Then all of his thoughts and actions will naturally be to bestow contentment upon his Maker (Shamati 68).

If a person carries out such spiritual work, they open their heart more and more, and progress forward. The heart represents desire, and when he corrects his heart…, the heart will then be the Kli in which to place the upper light. And when the upper light shines in the heart, the heart will grow stronger and he will add and supplement continuously.

The heart shows a person the path to strengthen and move forward. There must be a sense within the heart that one is on the right degrees, ascending accordingly.

One must constantly check where the heart is leading. Then, the person will feel whether the heart is pulling them in a specific direction or allowing them the freedom to act.

Questions about Spiritual Work—224

281.02Question: What is the courage of the heart?

Answer: The courage of the heart is when a person feels that they can rise up now and become as if a representative of all the people gathered at the convention.

Question: How can we build and maintain such a connection so that we can instantly react and even anticipate the attacks of the evil inclination?

Answer: We must truly imagine how we can be in a state where everyone is connected to one another.

Question: How does the group rise to the Creator?

Answer: The group rises to the Creator to the extent that it becomes connected.

Question: What is this desire that opens our hearts and even persuades the Creator to unite us?

Answer: Ask the Creator, not me.

Question: What is spiritual war?

Answer: Spiritual war is when I fight with my Kelim (egoistic desires).

Question: We learn that the evil inclination is the separation between us and the Creator is the connection between us. Can we try to interact with each other not through the membrane of our egoism but through the Creator now so that He would be like a conduit between us?

Answer: That is correct. This is how we should act. But how? I cannot tell you that. But you have already guessed half of it; so keep trying.

The Direction toward the Creator

942World Kabbalah Convention “Connecting to Lishma,” Lesson 3

Question: When I realize I have no strength, I ask for it from the upper force and receive it; then egoism appropriates it for itself. How can I avoid this?

Answer: The main thing is understanding that the Creator is not in us but between us. And if I am directed at Him, I can strive for the desire of the vast mass of souls He is in.

Therefore, what happens makes no difference to me. The main thing is that I want to be connected to the Creator. I do not want to lose this connection for a single moment in any state. Then everything will work out.

The Root of Suffering Is Quite Foolish

096Question: We come to the root of suffering, why does it happen? Do we ever reach it?

Answer: The root of suffering is actually quite foolish.

The root of suffering lies in rejecting the suffering. In rejecting the suffering when I believe that what I’m going through, the pain I feel, is somehow not meant for me.

Question: So if I accepted it, I would not suffer?

Answer: Yes, then I would simply get used to this level of life.

Face-to-Face with Friends

938.07Question: We learn that we must justify all friends so that each one is at least neutral or positive in my eyes because we know that criticism destroys.

Speaking of envy, should I choose someone specific to envy and at least justify the rest? The more you reveal your friend, the more you can see flaws rather than what to envy.

Answer: We must reach a state where we are face-to-face with our friends. Based on this, we will want only one thing—to live in an embrace with them. We need to feel how to do it.

The Need to Come Closer

938.02Question: It is impossible not to feel the field of love with which the Creator has covered us. But such contradictions arise here that you begin to enjoy bestowing to your friends. How can we work further?

Answer: In the field in which you feel united, you need to awaken the force of unity so that this force affects you and brings you closer to each other. And so you will move toward the true convention.

Question: How do we awaken this force? We already feel as if the Creator has wrapped us in a blanket of love. What now? We just want to enjoy it, but that is not our path.

Answer: Yes, that will not lead to anything.

There is only one thing to do: pray for your friends so that they, just like you, feel the need to come closer, to connect with one another, and ultimately for all of us to feel like one whole.

If you strive for this and think about this, everything will surely come together.

Discovering the Qualities of Friends within You

528.01Question: We say that I should envy my friends. But should I care about making my friends envy me, about impressing them? Or at least should I make it easier for them to envy me?

Answer: As follows from the articles of Rabash, we must do everything possible to discover in ourselves the qualities that we want to see in our friends.

Everything I understand from reading these articles I want to see in each of them. Then I will be certain that together with them, I am moving toward the goal.

Question: And if I do not see it?

Answer: If you do not see it, then you need to go deeper and deeper, or simply ask each person in the ten what special qualities they have noticed in a particular friend.

Additionally, you can ask the entire world Kli: “On what basis did we make this decision?” or “Why do we need this kind of work?” You should listen to them, and they should be interested in filling you with the right answers.
