Give Up Your Ego

528.02If each person in the group annuls themselves, a collective Kli (vessel) is formed in which there can be no other desire except to bring contentment to the Creator.

Friends gather together, each one with their own ego. Each begins to fight with everyone else for the sake of their ego. But gradually, through the surrounding light, with the help of various means that they employ, they begin to discover that it is worthwhile to renounce their ego, to unite with everyone, and to accept what the group dictates.

And when everyone together begins to bow before some idea, not yet really knowing what it is, then through the accumulation of these renunciations of their ego, a single annulment of us in relation to the Creator begins to be revealed. With the correct connection for the sake of bestowal, in faith above reason, the group’s collective desire will be directed only toward the Creator.

But if the development is incorrect, then even when the friends unite and are able to yield to one another, it will resemble the sin of Sodom. They will be directed not toward the Creator, but toward themselves, supposedly for the sake of the good of society, a kind of an abstraction. And this will lead to destruction, as it happened in Russia and in the Kibbutzim. But we see that this is no longer happening.

If the development is correct, then when we unite in a group, it will be revealed that we are incapable of doing this; for it, we need the force of the Creator, His presence as a guarantor, as the one who binds us together.

Therefore, we can say that there is a certain confidence that we are progressing correctly.

The Purpose of Israel

243.04It is said that the Creator went from nation to nation, wishing to give the Torah for the correction of the qualities of the will to receive, but no one was able to accept it. Then He gave it to Israel, that is, to Galgalta ve Eynaim (GE).

Thus, there exist qualities called Galgalta ve Eynaim, and if they undergo a shattering together with the AHP and become mixed with it, then afterward, through them, it becomes possible to correct AHP, in other words, to bring the Torah to the nations of the world through Israel, as correction and fulfillment.

After all, the receiving vessels are, in fact, the purpose of creation, and their adhesion with the Creator is the desired final state.

Therefore, in correcting the souls after the shattering, when all these parts are intermixed, GE is corrected first, the category of Israel, which originally required no correction.

Still, it must be corrected so that, once extracted from the mixture and corrected, it serves as an auxiliary system intended solely to correct AHP.

Is the Desire for Spirituality, the Point in the Heart, the Greatest Desire?

Yes, the desire for spirituality is the greatest desire for us who begin to develop, even someone who lived 5,000 years ago, or 1,000 years ago, it does not matter when. All of humanity is in a state of development. What is development? It means that desires grow and expand.

For example, 50 years ago, it was hard to find a variety of goods at the grocery store. You could buy bread, milk, and maybe one type of yogurt. Today, you walk into a supermarket and an enormous range of products is spread before your eyes, in every color, flavor, and size, with low-fat and high-fat options, and local and imported products. Such variety never existed before. This gives us an idea of what development means.

Desires constantly grow, and they also divide into countless detailed categories, more than one could ever imagine, which provide many nuances. Today, we can distinguish among 50 types of food and know exactly which one we want. It is almost madness, but that is how it is. Look at how many distinctions can be made even within a single category of food, and it is the same with every aspect of life.

Why does this happen? It is because the will to receive is constantly in a process of development, demanding greater and more diverse fulfillment. According to this growing need, we receive new thoughts and ideas about how to satisfy ourselves with a variety of items. Suddenly, we realize that there is a new “socket” or gap in our desire that can be filled with another flavor, another item.

Therefore, we develop until all the beastly or animalistic desires, more or less, become familiar and understood. Then, a new desire becomes introduced: the desire for spirituality. This desire is called the “point in the heart,” and it is positioned against the animalistic desires. Now, they start to develop against each other. At this point, we begin to feel a split. We feel like a pendulum swinging between these two forces without understanding where it will lead or how it is happening.

Connection with the Final Point of the Path

254.01How can I connect my momentary small action with the final point of the path while hoping that through every action I perform now, the force will come to me through which I will advance, find a connection with spirituality, with the upper force, and it will be revealed to me.

Question: Does it make sense to artificially remind yourself of this?

Answer: If you artificially remember this, it is wonderful! If you do not remember, then your group is not working properly.

Remembering in any way, even if you do not want to (which is even more beneficial), about the internal action that you have to perform, that every moment to connect your work to the ultimate goal of attaining adhesion with the Creator, of entering eternity, perfection—it is good.

Although, perhaps, at that very moment you realize that you do not want it, that you are fed up with everything, it does not matter, this is still called connection. But if you are disconnected from the goal, then it means that your group is not working well enough to awaken such thoughts in you every second.

Intention Changes Reality

131We do not realize how much our attitude toward the world improves it! Only now are physicists discovering that the results of their experiments with matter depend on the experimenter and their attitude. Only now are we discovering that even a plant feels how I relate to it.

We do not understand that it is precisely our attitude, meaning, our intention, that changes all of reality. We do not see it because we do not see the results. And we do not see intentions, we cannot clarify them, see them, or measure them. That is the problem.

Nevertheless, this alone operates in the universe; matter is brought into motion specifically by the attitude toward it. What is a matter by itself for? It cannot generate any movement on its own.

Therefore, when speaking about how we should appear before the rest of the world, it should not be at all as if we are actively involved in politics, economics, security, or anything of the sort.

Our involvement is solely in education, spreading this knowledge and bringing everyone who desires it to the right attitude toward reality, nature, and the world in which they live.

The Reason for the Breakage of the Common Soul

264.01Each person can influence the whole world, both positively and negatively. This is a consequence of the interpenetration of souls and the breaking of a single Kli of creation called the common soul of Adam HaRishon.

Initially we existed in a wonderful union in it that was created by the light. In its presence, all desires were suppressed, sweetened, combined and, of course, were in the intention of bestowing to each other. All this was a manifestation of the light, which thus supported these desires from the moment it created them.

Then the shattering occurred. That is, the light departing from the Kli led to the fact that the Kli remained in its natural properties, in its nature, which had never happened before.

It was discovered that the nature of creation is the desire to enjoy. Since the creation does not feel the light, the nature of the giver, it begins to exist within itself, immersed in itself, and of course thinks, checks, and makes calculations only in accordance with the desire to receive, each according to one’s own desire.

Then a shattering occurred between all desires that once felt united, like one organism in which various organs function together and think only of helping others. It was clear to them this was one system that cannot exist any other way.

Suddenly a desire erupted in everyone, a desire unrelated to the desires of others. Everyone began to care only about their personal existence. Thus, there was a breakage among all parts of the common soul, the common Kli of Adam HaRishon.

Without Any Calculations

226Question: What determines the measure people connect to Kabbalah?

Answer: We do not know precisely the measure of connection, how, in what form, or in what way it happens. But suddenly we discover that there are whole groups of people in the world who feel a sense of belonging to this.

Just as, on the other hand, we see that among the Jewish people there are those who hate this idea, who do not want to accept it, and who even want to destroy you more than all the nations of the world.

But it is not for our mind to understand why, during the shattering, certain reactions occur, and why in our people there are those who are against us, and among the nations of the world, there are those who are for us.

We must not make these calculations. Lights clarify the vessels. Our task is only to reveal this thought, this general picture, more and more to everyone. This knowledge will draw the surrounding lights closer, which will perform the clarifications throughout the world. It is not our role to interfere in the process itself.

It is said: Even if a sharp sword rests upon a person’s neck, he should not deny himself of mercy (Rabash, “Come Unto Pharaoh – 1”).

We do not know, but in the most difficult moments, precisely through the shattering, from the depth of despair and disappointment, heaviness, hopelessness, and dead ends, suddenly the path is revealed, adhesion, a leap toward the light. In all this, we must proceed entirely above reason.
