The Purpose of Exiles

232.04The correction of souls proceeds from the subtle vessels to the coarse ones. First, the subtle part of the soul, called “Israel,” receives the Torah, and then, through connection and mutual inclusion with it, all souls, without exception, with great Aviut, join the condition of mutual guarantee and reach the state of “as one man with one heart.”

In order to move from fathers to sons, additional Aviut was needed, which they acquired during the Egyptian exile by mixing with the Egyptians and taking Kelim from them. In addition, some of the Egyptians joined Israel.

This means that due to their stay in Egypt, they multiplied, transformed from a family into a nation, and received additional Aviut through mixing and mutual inclusion.

The same applies to the last exile. It is said: “Israel went into exile only to add the souls of the nations to themselves.” The last exile among the nations of the world had the purpose of adding the coarse vessels to the subtle ones. Of course, the subtle vessels are also in descent, in decline; otherwise, it would not be called “exile.”

However, after the last exile, the same condition arises again as when leaving Egypt. Those who are ready to leave exile can achieve the status of “as one man with one heart,” and then the condition of mutual guarantee and receiving the Torah can be realized in them too.

Protection from Above

533.02Question: Shouldn’t we address the people who deal with the external part of the Torah directly?

Answer: The time has not come yet. We need two-sided preparation.

On one hand, it is necessary for the crisis that has occurred in Judaism to develop to a certain level and for the general opinion of society, of the people, which still influences them, to become so strong that it makes an impact and in some form a shift of attention from the external to internal would begin.

Baal HaSulam speaks of this as an iron curtain that exists between the people and the science of Kabbalah, between the people and the Creator since the destruction of the Temple. We see that today there is hatred between the Orthodox part of the population and the science of Kabbalah. Fear, hatred, and misunderstanding of what it is are very strong, and until it passes, we need preparation.

The preparation is gradual. We are already seeing how this is somehow penetrating inside, the people agree with it more than their leaders, and the leaders are gradually changing. To remain in leadership, they will have to accept the desire of the people; they have no choice in this. So it will come.

You cannot rush this. You would not call me patient, would you? But I feel something stopping me, in the past and now too; it does not allow me to approach the people of Israel and be involved with them. This does not mean I have no means, or that our group is not strong enough.

There is some protection from above here; we are not yet sufficiently prepared. We still lack an inner understanding of how to do this in the right way so that everything is perceived with understanding that yields results.

It should be like a mother with a child who understands him and knows everything that is necessary for his well-being.

It seems to me that first we must distribute as many pamphlets as possible, to take such actions so the people perceive it on different levels, from inanimate to vegetative, to animate and speaking. There is a lot more to think about here.

It has not taken shape yet; it has not descended from above. Therefore, no matter how much we want to, we cannot rush things, otherwise we will get a negative reaction that will damage both us and our connection with the people of Israel. But I hope that we are guarded from above and we will not be allowed to mindlessly do what we want from the bottom of our hearts.

What Does Intention Depend On?

528.01Question: What does intention depend on? Is it the work of the individual, the group, or the Creator?

Answer: Intention depends on the awareness of the importance of the upper force, which the group must continuously awaken to be in connection with the upper force. This force is the general, all-encompassing law of the universe under which you exist, whether you want to be or not, and you perform what it obligates you to.

This law does not change because it is a general law that includes all others. Do the laws of nature change? No!

Therefore, if you do not know this law, you will not know how to live at all and will constantly find yourself in a bad state. The group must explain this fact to you and convince you of the necessity to know this law.

Question: So does everything depend on the group or on my bestowing to the group?

Answer: Yes, it depends on the group, on how it will influence you. But how you will respond, be inspired by it, and how it will affect you, depends on you, on how you position the group in relation to yourself.

A Sane Approach

115.05The people of Israel must be the first to realize the method of adhesion with the Creator. This ideology stems from the general law of the entire universe and not what you are looking for, according to which law or method you want to live by. It is simply engraved in nature, and you cannot escape it.

You simply explain these laws to people, like physics or chemistry. You do not come to them as some kind of philosopher imagining that maybe it is this way or maybe not. And not even as a Jew.

You come as a scientist to show how the world exists, what the reason is for its creation, what goal it must reach, through what corrections and processes it moves from its beginning to its end.

You explain it like a scientist, from the side, in a completely objective form: “If you want, accept it; if you do not, do not accept it.” As if you saw a bacterium under a microscope and are explaining to the world how harmful or beneficial it is and what to do with it.

And when you explain everything in a cold, detached-from-yourself manner as if it does not concern you, then it becomes their task to translate the informational form into a sensory one. After all, their lives depend on it! So, let them receive it and do what they feel. You came simply to present the fact.

This is the most healthy approach. This is exactly how I explained things in lectures abroad: “I came to tell you what is happening. Are you familiar with these facts? Then look where it all comes from.”

I drew the map of the worlds and explained that this is science: “We are all in one pot, and no one will be helped by destroying others, and there’s no point in running away to find a quieter place in Madagascar, Uganda, or somewhere else. Nothing will help.”

And people accepted it because they saw how logical it is and that it comes from nature itself. We do not understand the power we have when we present all this clearly as a fact.

Talks about the Steps of the Ladder, Part 142

Is the Point in the Heart the Coarsest Desire?

The point in the heart is not the coarsest desire. The new spiritual desire is higher than worldly desires because it leads us to study Kabbalah. It causes us to awaken from our sleep, to leave our warm bed, and to care less about worldly, earthly matters. What does this mean? It means that the desire for spirituality is greater than the other desires, but only at the moment when it is given from above.

Later on, we are given free choice, and from that point, we must begin to examine our desires and prefer the spiritual desire over the others. This means we must grow the point in the heart over the desires of the heart. But then the bodily and worldly desires start to rise again. Fatigue and frustrations return, both in the point in the heart and in the heart itself; they oppose each other, and we start running back and forth between them.

Thus, some people leave the framework of study for a month or two, a year or two, and then return. Some experience many different states even in a single day, which is called “the catapult.” We are thrown into the turmoil of bodily and human desires, then flung back into spirituality, again and again. And through this, we grow. It is not like we grew throughout human history, through previous reincarnations, where the goal was merely to expand desires for this world. Instead, now we grow a desire for the next world in opposition to desires for this world. In other words, now we grow a desire for the Creator in opposition to desires for physical pleasures, money, honor, and intellectual pursuits.

Move Forward after the Congress

275Question: We had an amazing congress. In Kazakhstan, there were more than 300 friends, many of whom came from Petach Tikva, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. At the congress, as you said, we had a great expansion.

And now you are saying that each small group that did all this together with the world Kli needs to work more in depth. What does “go deeper” mean? In spirituality the connection is preserved?

Answer: The connection is, of course, remains in your group. Maybe it is not so noticeable because you were united at the congress and there was a strong external pressure on you.

And now we need to merge with those groups, with that pressure that they want from the Creator and from everyone else. After all, every group wants to move forward. From today onward, we have entered the post-congress phase.

In short, we have to agree among us in the group on how to get closer to each other and also agree on this between the groups. Basically, what we want is for each group to be responsible for the others. That is enough for now, and then we will move forward.

Continuous Search

504Question: How can we make it so that everyone thinks about one goal?

Answer: We must search for it. There are no ready-made solutions for every moment of our life. This is our job.

We must search for what kind of connection and in what form I must have at every second so that I may draw the surrounding light upon myself, which will give me some inspiration in relation to spirituality, in relation to the realization of the law of mutual guarantee, love for the neighbor, and adhesion with the Creator.

The Most Important Topic in the Wisdom of Kabbalah

214The topic of “There is None Else Besides Him” is the most important in the wisdom of Kabbalah, and each time it is perceived in a new way. It seems to us that we are repeating the same words, but there is never any repetition because we are changing all the time.

Therefore, this concept will be perceived by us in a new way. If a person does not feel any changes, then he should worry about it.

The concept of “There is None Else Besides Him” is always changing because it speaks about the Creator Himself, about His uniqueness, about the higher governance that acts upon us.
