“One” indicates a single evenness… “Unified” shows that although He performs the multiple operations, one force performs all these (Baal HaSulam, The Study of the Ten Sefirot, Inner Observation, Chapter 1, Item 1).

The Creator is one. There is no other force in the universe.

He is unified because everything that we perceive as completely different, even opposite qualities, comes from Him. Despite the fact that in our senses this force is manifested as many opposing forces, the Creator is unified.

Question: Does all this separation happen in our perception?

Answer: Only in our perception! Everything that we see as opposite to each other, we see in such a way only because this is how we separate everything that happens.

Question: Is it possible to explain the concepts of “One,” “Unique,” “Unified” practically, by example? Let’s say I have just read this information. What does it give me? How can I use it for my development?

Answer: Everything that you feel is the Creator and only Him. All kinds of actions and qualities that are revealed to us as opposites come from Him.

One force, one thought, one unique, unified purpose covers absolutely all the opposite forces that are manifested in you precisely because of your qualities. It all merges, connects, and unites into one single whole inside the Creator.

You have to feel it all. We must try to see it within us and around us.

Comment: In The Study of the Ten Sefirot, Baal HaSulam explains that the spiritual essence itself is simple, although it consists of many opposite forms relative to the receiver. Therefore, people began to believe that there are two upper forces: good and evil. Then they saw that they were disintegrating into many more different forces.

My Response: In our world, a person sees a great number of different forces around him and does not understand that all this comes from one source, from one force.

Question: Why is this done in such a way? What does this source want to tell us about this?

Answer: He wants to say that we should correct ourselves until we see only Him in everything. The correction of a person consists in discovering one force behind all the forces. There is none else besides Him.

Question: Let’s say I discovered this force. What is next?

Answer: Next you begin to correctly attain everything that exists within you and around you, that only one single Creator fills everything and acts in everything.

Question: Can practicing Kabbalah reduce the number of future reincarnations of a person? Or is their number predetermined?

Answer: It does not matter if it is predetermined or not, but we can change and influence them.

Question: I have heard that if a person who studies Kabbalah is in a ten and passes away, he continues to be a member of the ten. What does this mean?

Answer: It depends on the ten. It has the ability to feel this person and contact him. He lives in them because they were mutually connected with each other as Sefirot in one Partzuf. Therefore, the connection remains.

But he does not continue living in the way we understand, in the memory of these people but in their qualities. In this case he makes decisions, changes, and so on with them.

All this should become clear to us from the revelation of the soul to a person. It is hard to talk about things we cannot imagine and feel.

Comment: But you tell us many things about Kabbalah that we do not feel.

My Response: But you can imagine this somehow, and if you yearn for this, then you are approaching the purpose of creation.

That should appease your mind regarding the perplexing expressions we often find in books of Kabbalah……, and some that are even foreign to the human spirit (Baal HaSulam, Study of the Ten Sefirot, “Inner Observation”).

Question: Baal HaSulam writes of such concepts as, for example, a kiss or copulation, which at first glance are not quite decent things. But in Kabbalah, they imply a certain connection between spiritual objects. Therefore, he says it is necessary to use the exact terms that clearly correspond to the root relating to the branch, which cannot be replaced with other words.

What if the Kabbalist makes a mistake? Could it be that he called the root the wrong branch?

Answer: If a present-day Kabbalist writes it, consistently using this or that term, we accept it as a given. And if, for example, he could have made a mistake, then it is not clear what his mistake comes from. It follows, he does not understand exactly what is happening in the spiritual world and therefore does not see the right consequence in our world. That is, his language of the branches is incorrect.

But a true Kabbalist who attains the upper actions and their consequences in our world cannot choose to use other words no matter how strange they may be.

Comment: For example, Baal HaSulam wrote about why the mountain in Jerusalem is called the Mount of Olives. That is, Kabbalists felt from their attainment that this is exactly what it should be called, or why Adam was called Adam in the Torah.

My Response: Yes, all Kabbalistic terms, and these are practically all the words in the Torah, come from the Kabbalist’s attainment.

In the program placed into a person by the Creator, there is a huge part called “mistakes of the past,” meaning the area of sensory, social, personal, and family successes and failures. Can you imagine what is uploaded into a person?! It is world that a child does not have, an enormous part of the universe in which an adult exists.

It is impossible to give a person such an injection that he immediately, like in a science fiction movie, “Oh-oh-oh!” and that’s it, he is already in the upper world. It does not exist.

He needs to get through it all, store it in himself, make an upgrade, and reload everything. He must live through all these states, feel the opposites, try to do it himself without the Creator or with the Creator, with a certain environment or without them, stumble, get up, and so on. At every step, at every given one. And out of these billions of steps, an opportunity is created in a person—only an opportunity!—to start feeling another state, another universe.

He enters into this feeling gradually; a feeling is revealed that did not exist before! It exists here and in another dimension. And now this dimension is being revealed! In order for it to begin to open up, I need to create in myself huge internal reserves, opportunities, sensations, accumulations of all kinds of thoughts and feelings.

In such a way I begin to enter into a perception of new connections, a new world. I see it in a completely different way. I see its opposite side, where it is controlled from, and how it all works. My world becomes small, I am entering into the management system, and it is becoming important. And this whole world and all these animate, small, instinctive interactions of ours just lose their importance.

My animalistic body remains in connection with the others, temporarily, for the time being, in order to contact the others through it and help them also enter into this new universe, into this dimension. And as soon as we all break away from this field, on which we graze like small animals, and enter with our sensations into a new state, into a new dimension, the material world simply disappears.

It does not exist even now, like everything else, because it exists only in our consciousness, which rises completely to the next level. And along with the area of new human relationships, our animate, vegetative, and inanimate sensations also rise, meaning our whole world.

But it is impossible to do it at once, like some kind of injection and a person is already in the next dimension. The program needs to enter into us gradually and be adapted by us. We must accept it, feel it, unite with it, and feel as we are it as one whole.

This requires consecutive, voluntary implantation into this program because it is against our egoistic nature. This is what our work consists of.

There are a large number of unnecessary professions in the world. A person should be freed from them; otherwise, he will completely pollute the earth. He should be taking through integral education.

It is estimated that 75% of working people are engaged in completely unnecessary work. It would be much better if more than 90% of the world’s population stopped doing anything at all, and would simply sit and consume. Both people and the environment would be better off.

So the method of integral education is urgently needed to put the economy in order, to make it normal, economical, and to free people for what is really necessary.

Our conformity to nature, which can be achieved by integral education, will bring all of nature and us into order, meaning into harmony, and all the problems that we see in the world today and call a crisis will actually become the birth of a new humanity. In principle, the real meaning of the word “crisis” is birth, and not something negative that we understand by this term.

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “Should I try to boost my ego or keep it in check?“

We should know the final goal that we are destined to reach, and that the ego develops within us in order to reach that goal. However, it develops within us in order for us to make correct use of it, and then we can consciously progress toward the final goal that is in front of us. In other words, we need to understand and inquire about the purpose of creation.

What is the purpose of creation? It is for us to resemble nature on the level in which the ego is in control, because the ego actually brings us out of nature’s still, vegetative and animate levels. It makes something very strange out of us where, on one hand, we control nature, and on the other hand, we depend on nature.

Here we have a problem. What were we given such a big ego for? On one hand, the ego is supposed to elevate us above everyone. On the other hand, we see that the ego’s development leads us to the lowest and most ignoble states.

At such a juncture comes the wisdom of Kabbalah that explains how we should use the will to receive, the ego, in a very special way. On one hand, we feel a desire to suppress and control everyone, but on the other hand, we have to work on it the other way around where we suppress and control ourselves.

We then see this ego as a help toward the higher state to which we aspire. It is as if it wants to put us to death, to push us into struggles and to control everyone. We see that it is bad for us and so we take it and control ourselves. This control over our ego elevates us above our ego and ties us to nature. We then reach a state where we truly become superior masters, like nature itself, by wanting to control the ego. We even become greater than how nature created us, because nature created us in an ego, as it is written, “I have created the evil inclination,” and we rise above the ego to a higher degree, that of nature itself—the force that created the ego.

Here, we are discussing the ego as the force of reception and separation, a force that makes us wish to enjoy ourselves at the expense of others; and we describe nature as the limitless force of love, bestowal and connection. So when we discuss rising above the ego to a higher degree, we are talking about how we become similar to the altruistic force of nature. Doing so leads us to host a combination of these two forces within us, the natural egoistic force and the higher force of nature, which we develop above it. We then reach a vision of the world from one end to the other—seeing and feeling everything, and that we control everything in the direction of benefiting all people and nature.
