The more I exalt the Creator in my eyes, the more I am filled with His greatness. Identifying oneself with Him frees one from all spiritual or corporeal problems. Problems are resolved only by the fact that the Creator, the Upper light, fills our empty desires.

Me – Group – Creator:
The Creator is the reason and goal of group work. But realization happens in the group, where I must attain love for friends. This is what I ask from the Creator. Hence the Creator becomes a means here. But after I attain love for the friends, I can go on to attain love for the Creator.

We strive to hold the Creator in the center of the group, so His greatness will hold and connect us. From the center of the group, the Creator plays with us, dividing us. Yet we overcome the disturbances, constantly preserving the balance by our common sensation of the Creator’s greatness, holding Him up between us.

The way to check the Creator’s greatness is to see how much it obligates me to love the friends. It is written, “from love for the creatures, one comes to love for the Creator.” But why must I love the creatures? Because I want to attain love for the Creator. The Creator is the goal, and preparation for it is love for the creatures.

Ascents and descents happen independently of us. What depends on us is to connect the lack of the Creator’s greatness in us in descent, to the Creator’s greatness in ascent. I, myself, search for and awaken the lack of the Creator’s greatness, trying to feel it, measure it and connect it to the sensation of the Creator’s greatness now.

Man’s primary work is to attach to the ascent the lack of the Creator’s greatness, which he felt before, during a descent. This is exactly why these states are called descents—because the Creator’s greatness disappears in them, there’s no Creator in us and between us.
We want to attach these descents to the ascent.

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 1/20/19

laitman_961Question: Must we bring the system into balance or must we change in relation to a system that is completely unchangeable and balanced?

Answer: We must change, only us. In this way we change the world that is reflected within us.

Question: What appears first, thought or desire?

Answer: Desire. Desire is our foundation. Thoughts then appear, which begin to sort and take in and absorb the desires and work with them.

Question: What appeared first, distance, time, or movement?

Answer: All of this is the result of our egoistic development. Until the spiritual essence fell into the egoistic level, there was no time, motion, or space.

Question: Does spiritual happiness always come as the result of a struggle between two opposing forces?

Answer: It is not only the struggle, but also the right combination between two opposing forces.

Question: The wisdom of Kabbalah is a method for uniting people. How is it possible to help your family unite in order to survive? How do we add Kabbalistic principles to the family?

Answer: You need to try to do this gradually and never apply pressure. Don’t be troublesome, don’t frighten people. You must show them that you are happy because you are studying Kabbalah. This will be the best method for making it popular with your relatives.

Question: How does a Kabbalist differentiate evil from good?

Answer: Everything that brings us closer to each other and to the Creator is good. Everything else, even what is neutral, is evil

Question: Why do people try to extend their life on Earth? After all, we were not born for that, but only in order to develop the soul.

Answer: I don’t think it is necessary to artificially prolong life. There is nothing worse than this world. Yet we don’t have the right to give it up because we need to carry out our role.

Question: When a person becomes a Kabbalist, by seeing what is inevitable, is he able to correct his behavior in the present?

Answer: Certainly. If you see your spiritual state, then you can certainly correct your next movement based on your state.

Question: What are the levels of control of the heart and the spiritual state that exist for a Kabbalist?

Answer: Tzimtzum (restriction), then the Masach (screen), ascent above the ego, and after that Zivug de Haka’a  (mating by striking), meaning the proper functioning of your egoism with bestowal and love.

Question: Does a hierarchy exist in a spiritual system?

Answer: Certainly it exists. There are 125 levels that are divided into sublevels. Kabbalists feel that someone is higher or lower according to the hierarchy. But other than that, each one has his own mission.

Question: How is it possible to hasten and carry out a maximal change in states from bad to good and from good to the middle line?

Answer: This is only through work with friends in a group to the degree they approach each other.

Question: Does spiritual consciousness depend on the physical level of human consciousness?

Answer: Spiritual consciousness does not depend on physical consciousness in any way. A person in our world can be stupid or lazy, while in spirituality he could discover completely different characteristics.

Question: How and what is changed in a physical person after going through the Machsom (barrier)?

Answer: He becomes purposeful. That is all.

Question: Whether we remain in this world or abandon it depends upon what?

Answer: It depends upon the mission.

Question: Do all people have a point in the heart?

Answer: All people have a point in the heart, if only they want to renew or revive it.

Question: Can a Kabbalist influence his spiritual root and therefore determine the flow of events in the lowest world, for all the worlds?

Answer: Yes, certainly he can.

New Life #266 – Self-Confidence

New Life #266 – Self-Confidence
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Genuine self-confidence is only attained through a loving and supportive environment. Shame is the fear of feeling less than others. It is the fear of hurting or eliminating one’s ego, which has a constant concern for self-fulfillment at the expense of others. Pride that comes from wanting to control and take advantage of others is negative, empty, and stupid. Learning self-acceptance will also not help. We can only attain psychological freedom and resilience when we build mini-societies of people who share the special, lofty goal of transcending the human ego together. They achieve positive pride that comes from the desire to control oneself. They protect themselves from hurt and advance humanity by adhering to the rule, “Do not do to your friend what you hate.”
