My Thoughts On Twitter 2/13/19

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

Europe’s economics and finance commissioner: the European zone was designed as a means of balancing the economies of the EU states, but has resulted in the opposite.
Balancing earnings is only possible by bringing together the people of the #EU
… which they’ll have to achieve through education (either before or after #Brexit and war).

At the Convention we hope to attain unity by which we will rise to the spiritual degree, where no one will be able to interfere with our dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah, meaning knowledge of the Creator, to all mankind—turning all residents of Earth …
… into dwellers of the spiritual Paradise.

The power of ego (darkness) is felt in the impossibility to overcome it. These descents from the path of truth lead to prayer for help, which he will receive if he doesn’t run away from the work, seeing that he does not advance—since advancing means attaining darkness, a Kli
…. the need for filling by Light, the quality of bestowal.

There are 3 stages to studying Kabbalah:
1. Kabbalah about our world, the ego as human nature.
2. The upper world: the worlds’ development from the thought of creation down to our world, from above downward, the elements and degrees of the worlds.
3. Spiritual work ….
—rising from our world to the thought behind it.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is aimed at teaching one how to attain the Creator’s revelation within. Not to reveal with one’s reason, but to adhere to Him until you feel Him “to the bone,” i.e., to reveal the Upper Force in its complete perception: in the sensations, in the mind …
…. with every cell that can think and feel.

If we relate to the people as the Creator’s abode, we’ll be able to attain the upper world, faith above reason, degrees of the spiritual worlds.

We can only ascend spiritually by bringing correction to the people. After all, “the Creator resides in his people,” is revealed through the AHP. Caring for the people is equal to caring for the Creator.

Our entire work is aimed at exiting the intentions for oneself into intentions for the Creator. We want to feel His greatness, with love toward the Creator. All the pleasure and reward lies in serving the Creator, and not in compensation for our efforts, but in the work itself
…. being felt as the reward!

“The Root Of The BDS Boycotts Of Israel“ (The Times Of Israel)

The Times of Israel published my new article “The Root of the BDS Boycotts of Israel

The enemies of the Israeli nation do not rest. While a Mideast policy bill that would penalize companies or businesses that boycott Israel managed to get approved in the US Senate, on the other side of the ocean in Europe, the situation is strikingly different.

Amnesty International, with headquarters in Great Britain, has launched a campaign against Israel, calling on the largest global digital tourism companies to stop listing rentals and tours in Jewish historical and cultural sites in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, against what they label a “settlement tourism industry.”

Meanwhile, more than 50 British artists urged the BBC to boycott the Eurovision song contest because it is taking place in Israel this year. They signed a letter seeking to cancel coverage of the cultural competition scheduled to take place in Tel Aviv in May citing human rights violations, and also pressuring to move the event to another location.

Why the obsession against Israel? Where are the voices against the systematic and deliberate abuses of the totalitarian and dictatorial regimes around the world while Israel is stridently singled out, accused of vicious crimes, and basically blamed for most of the world’s problems? Put simply, this is anti-Semitism hidden under the cover of criticism of the Jewish State.

The hatred toward Israel is certainly nothing new, but in today’s intricate global reality we live in, the more frequent and intense the woes, the more humanity blames this tiny nation of Jews for its troubles. And no stone will be left unturned until the country is completely isolated and asphyxiated by a worldwide boycott .

It has become increasingly evident that the world is a single interconnected and interdependent network in which Israel plays a pivotal role. The crux of the problem is that we are not performing our part. Our role in the world is to set an example of unity allowing the discovery of the positive force of nature in our connection. As a result of our neglect of this duty, humanity suffers because the balancing force that could bring tranquility to humanity remains unrevealed. Instead of basking in peace and serenity, mankind sinks into harsher states, which reciprocally increase the negativity toward us.

In fact, if the Israeli nation would establish good relations, we would then feel the flow of the force of unity fill the world, and a new kind of happiness and prosperity for all people would blossom. Rav Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook stressed this principle in his writings: “Within Israel is a hidden sanctity of elevating the value of life itself through the Divinity that is present in Israel…With utter completeness will it be completed within the house of Israel, and from it, it will radiate to the earth and to the whole world, ‘for a covenant of the people, for a light of the nations.’” (Rav Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, Ein Ayah [A Hawk’s Eye])

This is the actualization of the Israeli nation becoming “a light unto the nations,” i.e. by setting an example for everyone of how to connect, and it is the reason for the urgent need for us to attain unity. It will equip the world with an example of unity that it could follow. As Rav Yehuda Ashlag (Baal HaSulam) wrote in his essay The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee): “The nations of the world are not yet ready for it, and I need at least one nation to start with now, so it will be as a remedy for all the nations.”

Therefore, changing our fate and the fate for the rest of the world is in our hands. It demands from us to make efforts to connect by strengthening the ties between us all—secular, religious, Israeli Jews and Diaspora Jews—above any and all other engagements for the sake of our shared destiny as a diverse yet monolithic people. Instead of acting like self-serving tribal clans, we must become mutually responsible for the entire nation, until we truly become “as one man with one heart.”

As the wisdom of Kabbalah explains, such a state is achievable by learning the method of connection that holds the keys to global unification and achievement of a fulfilling existence. The nations of the world need to receive this goodness from us. When they do, their attitude toward the Israeli nation will change immediately from hatred and blame to love and gratitude.

How Can Mind And Feeling Exist Without A Body?

Laitman_511.01Question: How can mind and feeling exist without a physical body? What will sense the feeling? Where is the mind born and where does it reside?

Answer: Feeling is not a body. Our body is just some substance that seems as if it exists. Some movements and modifications are reflected in it and we feel alive.

In reality, we exist in the Creator’s thought. Nothing exists besides this thought. The whole universe, everything that exists, is just a thought.

Talk to astronomers, ask astrophysicists, and they will say the same. Working with celestial bodies, they feel that this is a plan, a thought.

The science of Kabbalah says the same: matter does not exist, we feel it as a result of the perception of thought.

New Life #140 – The Future Of Advertising

New Life #140 – The Future of Advertising
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

The world of advertising aggressively sells us pleasure; however, the desire to connect will soon take over the market. We are facing a revolution: people will want to be emotionally connected, without borders, and to ascend above matter. We will discover a special pleasure in the connection between us: warmth, excitement, and a new exalted, unlimited spirit. People will return to normal consumption and everything that is unnecessary for sustenance will become devalued. Individualism will be replaced by a need for warm human connection, common joy, and social pleasure. Advertising and the media will become engines for human development, connection, and mutual fulfillment.

My Thoughts On Twitter 2/12/19

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

The ten works like a pump: having fallen into a new ego phase, one can’t free himself, but the ten works on him. This is group work, not an individual job. Everyone individually awakens the ten to the work. Or, the Creator takes pity on him, but this is not a spiritual ascent.

Fear is the sensation in the desire to receive pleasure, while awe is the feeling in the desire to bestow. Therefore, one has to maximally exalt the greatness and significance of the group and the Creator, so that this became the driving force, pulling forward …
…. not the fear pushing one from behind.

The proper help to the friend in descent is to descend to his condition and gradually rise with him, using the opportunity to turn his descent into ascent. And the friend will rise because he partook in the guarantee and invested his efforts into becoming one with the ten.

If I break away from the ten, it means that I break away from the Creator. And if I think that I’m still connected to the Creator, then it is not the Creator, but His opposite; as it is said: “It is not Me whom you called upon, Jacob” (Lo oti karata, Yaakov).

If everything comes from the Creator, the Good Who does good, except whom there is none else and no-one can stop Him from delighting all creatures, then what could be bad? It is only that I, like a rotten child, don’t see that the parents do everything for my benefit …
…. yet the world seems bad to me.

I am willing to keep the connection with the Creator, but through the group, and it is constantly interrupted. Therefore, I am in fear of losing my soul, the Kli, the ten.
What if I suddenly fall and the stream washes me away and the group is unable to save me?
Or they won’t be able to dig me up and get me out of my selfish prison?

Trust that the Creator is engaged in everything concerning a person’s development and guides him to the goal all the time. Rejoice that the Creator fosters you in both—descents and ascents, that everything is for your growth. Always act as if in an ascent.

After all, the fall leads to adhesion with the Creator. This is how the Creator is pulling a person to Himself.

The difference between fear and trepidation?
If I act out of fear about myself, my ego—it is fear.
If out of a desire to bestow to the Creator, without thinking about myself, it is called awe.
Fear is where my ego is, for my sake. Fear is a result of the lack of faith.
Awe is where it is for the sake of the Creator.

It’s fine if I feel confused, like a child who doesn’t understand what they want from him. But I’m not going to perceive the spiritual with my feelings and mind. This confusion and helplessness are given to me as help from above, so that I stick to the Creator …
… and by doing so open a new channel of perception.

If one falls below the level at which he thinks he should be, he gets the strength to fight the descent and is forced to increase the Greatness of the Creator within—until he understands that it is the obstacles that create the place for the revelation of the Creator’s light.
The sinner prepares, and the righteous will clothe. Obstacles are the Kli of the light.

By trying to jump over the desire to enjoy (receive pleasure) to the desire to bestow (delight), i.e., to attribute all the events to the Creator, we resemble chicks learning to fly: they jump, trying to fly. In the end, they succeed, and begin to float in the air …
… whereas we strive for adhesion.

If you don’t enjoy thinking of the Creator, then you don’t feel His greatness.
If thoughts of His greatness don’t help, ask the Creator to open your heart, to experience His greatness. Regret that you don’t feel His greatness.
Rejoice that you suffer from the lack of the spiritual. After all, it is the Creator who desires so.

The path of faith above reason means not to reckon with feelings and knowledge. To trust that the Creator governs everything determines my states and sensations exactly as He wants them. But the feeling doesn’t matter to me; I desire to delight the Creator.
By doing so, I exist in perfection and get closer to Him.

The Book of Zohar about 3 fears: for life in this world, for the next world, and failure to reach adhesion with the Creator for His sake. In descent, we fall to fear 1 and have to rise to fear 2 and 3—with the help of the ten, like a prisoner from his confinement.
Animal fear transforms into trepidation to underestimate the Creator’s value within the group.

Material fear is indicative of the lack of awe. If my fear is related to the Creator—awe—there is no place for the earthly fear, for I will raise it to the spiritual level. What matters is why I act—to withdraw from the earthly fear or enjoy it as an incentive to attain awe.

Fear only the fact that you may stop thinking about the Creator, that
1. There is none else besides Him
2. He is good Who does good,
that you will fall into the sensation of this world as the only one,
that you will neglect the Creator, instead of appreciating Him,
…. that you will detach yourself from the ten and forget about the friends.

Imagine that you have attained faith in the Creator, the sensation that the Creator governs everything as Good Who Does good. And seeing the opposite, one should go above reason, as if he feels Goodness. Thus, one acquires the importance of the goal, and a life …
i.e., the joy of drawing closer to the Creator. Then one has the strength and the place to exalt Him.

I Want To Meet The Creator!

laitman_565.01Question: Is there a difference between the fact that a person senses evil and understands that it comes from the Creator and that he simply senses evil without blaming the Creator?

Answer: The difference is great. If I want to get closer to the Creator, to comprehend Him, to reveal the secret of my life—in what form I existed before birth and in what form I will exist after I part with the bodily shell—then of course, the Creator interests me. This is the source of my existence in all metamorphoses.

Therefore, I am interested to get to know Him, to acquire His qualities, to see myself in all worlds, in all states. It allows me to exist. Currently, I do not exist. The Book of Zohar calls our existence a dream far from reality.

So I wish not to remain in this state. I want to really understand where I am, that I can change and see the true world and not the world as it now seems to me.
